No, seriously.
Chiefs president/general manager Carl Peterson resigned today effective at the end of the season.
"On behalf of my family and the entire Kansas City Chiefs organization, I want to thank Carl for his two decades of service to the Chiefs," Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said. "Both Carl and I agreed that immediately initiating the search for the next Chiefs general manager would be the best thing for the future of the organization, and he will be resigning following the 2008 season."
Hunt said the search for a new General Manager will begin immediately. Vice President Denny Thum will serve as the Chiefs interim president and general manager.
“I am proud of my association with the Kansas City Chiefs and our many accomplishments over the last 20 years,” Peterson said. “I thank the Hunt family for the opportunity to lead the Chiefs organization and sincerely appreciate all the coaches, players, administrators and Chiefs employees with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working in my time here. Most importantly, I want to thank Chiefs fans around the country for their passionate support through the years. Chiefs fans are the finest in all of professional football.”
Per the statement by the team, he is resigning from all three positions he holds - General Manager, President and CEO.
Carl Peterson will leave the Kansas City Chiefs GM position with one year left on his contract. Don't get too excited about his absence though. Peterson will be picking his successor.

Video of Clark Hunt's press conference.
Much, much more to come on this. Wow. Just wow.
Update: Via an appearance on the NFL Network, Clark Hunt said ultimately he will determine the fate of coach Herm Edwards. He also said he expects the team's new GM to come from outside the organization without any ties to the Chiefs.

BULLSHIT!
It’s not April 1st. Please, pretty please…….don’t play with our emotions like this, Chris
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
It's real
I’m floored. Didn’t expect this.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
Nothing in the way of "news"
on this quite yet. We’ll see if anymore info comes out on why he’s leaving early.
Chris Thorman - December 15, 2008
I hope heads rolled
after yesterday’s loss. That Carl got called into Clark’s office and he laid it on the line for him. Wow! Christmas came early!
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
I have to give credit where credit is due
and perhaps Clark is a lot more savy than we cut him slack for
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
Herm to follow?
Surely he would not let the guy bring him in go, then keep Herm.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
It's a great sign
We all saw how empty Arrowhead was yesterday. Couple that with yesterdays loss. Good time to show them the door……..don’t let ya hit on the ass on the way out!
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
don't let it hit ya
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
Don't let the door hit ya, where the good lord split ya!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I knew something was going to happen today, just felt it
Just did not know who was going to go. UC is dancing naked in the streets in Wichita!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
810 reports the same.
HELL YESSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
Hopefully Washington
is stupid enough to fire Zorn after one season….
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
Is this all smoke and mirrors though?
If Carl hires from within, is this just a sham for public support?
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
Yep
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - December 15, 2008
I am shocked!
Do we have any evidence that Clark gave him the axe? Or was this made by Carl?
KCking - December 15, 2008
Its on the team's website as well.
It is not coincidence that this occurred the day after one of the most absurd, catastrophic, improbable losses I have ever witnessed as a football fan (longtime fans will recall Mile High Stadium in 1992, when the Chiefs led 19-6 at the 2-minute warning). I’m certain Mr. Hunt had a conversation with CP and said this could be done graciously today, or it could be done ungraciously the day after the season finale.
Seeing that meltdown, and an embarrassingly empty stadium, had to be too much. The Chiefs are looking at 2-14, maybe 3-13. Something had to give. Let’s get a top-notch football guy running the show. There’s enough pieces in place that it shouldn’t take that long. I want it to be fun to be a Chiefs fan again. I want meaningful football in December.
DonnyDonovan - December 15, 2008
Need coaching to go along with it.
It is not all on Carl, other than he brought in this lame duck.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I'm sorry I don't remember that Denver game
I was only two
KCking - December 15, 2008
My bet
The empty stadium was a bigger deal than the current results. Pure business decision.
sir eccles - December 15, 2008
Probably
I’m just glad that he’s gone. Business or not.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Exactly how
are the two not tied to each other?
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
NFL network is reporting
He will step down from all three positions.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
Wow
Link or tv?
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
T.V. got it scrolling along the bottom.
Maybe it is not a sham, maybe Clark is going to clean house, so the new GM can start fresh!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
Herm should follow, and step down as well.
He is just as big a part of this mess as Carl.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I wouldn't say
that Herm is just as big a part as Carl. Carl’s been here for 20 years!
KCking - December 15, 2008
I still am with Herm
I know some hate the way he coaches, but I think he has really shown us adaptability and the way he can learn as well. He is getting outstanding effort from the players, it is just that the players aren’t quite there yet.
It is coming. I hope Herm stays on one more year to prove his worth.
TXChiefan - December 15, 2008
I'm with you TXC! I'll give Herm at least one more year.
Then for me I’ll feel that we gave him every opportunity to succeed.
aPacificChief - December 16, 2008
My guess...
Is they promote Bill Kuharich…which I would not be against…he has been in the mix for every GM job in the past year…But a complete housecleaning would not hurt my feelings!
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
Jason Whitlock said back in October
That he thinks Kuharich would run personnel, Thum would be salary cap and Carl would move to the business side in a CEO role…
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
Would you be against that?
I’d prefer getting someone new.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Hell yes!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I'd be totally against it
Completely new front office. Let the new guy decide on Herm.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
I concur
KCking - December 15, 2008
Herm is a bs artist.
I would prefer a whole new setup.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
Oh I get it
He resigned, as in re-signed, as in he signed again right? Another 20 years of Carl, hurrah!
sir eccles - December 15, 2008
LOL
I honestly thought that’s what it was at first…..WOW this is nuts!
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
The mothership says the same
All three positions.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
haha...
I made sure…
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
What about Arrowhead?
Wasn’t Peterson in charge of the renovating Arrowhead? I’m glad to see him gone from the football side of things but what will happen to our stadium if the manager of the project leaves in the middle of the effort?
Chiefs4Life - December 15, 2008
Guess he will still oversee the construction?
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
Don't worry
plenty of people know how to manage a rennovation project.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Wait, if there's a new GM effective ASAP
What are the chances that the new GM renews Herm Edwards contract? I think Edwards is gonna be gone after this year.
Vince D - December 15, 2008
That would be my guess
Marty as GM and Cowher as Coach looks a lot more interesting. I still think Herm’s a good coach but I am not one to pass down an upgrade.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Not ASAP
At the end of the season.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
The Chiefs named vice president Denny Thum as as interim president and general manager
Thats what espn’s story says
Shawn - December 15, 2008
LOL
You scanned the post too quickly:
This is interesting…
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
You think Herm is gone
at the end of the season PT?
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
No
I think he’s got another year.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
Well
I mean it all depends on who the new GM is. He’s the one that will most likely be making the decision. Clark’s shown he’s fairly hands off.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
Isn't
Marty looking for a GM job?
ChiefsDude - December 15, 2008
I think we see a return
of Marty with Cowher, do not let my alarm clock go off!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
ha sure did! oops
Shawn - December 15, 2008
ohh yeah
Its a freakin national holiday in chiefs world!!
xthreatx - December 15, 2008
No doubt
Mark it on your calendars, folks.
KansasCityShuffle - December 15, 2008
Important Note...
The link given in this article…The quote only says that when Carl was Re-Signed to his extension that they talked about him appointing a successor…I take that as, if the team is doing as well as it is now (when he signed it) then we will talk about your successor…It does not say it is a sure thing by any means…
So…yea…
And I didnt get a hat tip or anything?!?!? lol I dont deserve it for the horrid content I had in that thing lol
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
I tip my hat to you!!!!!!
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
LOL
We had ya beat by about 7 minutes. I was just floored when I heard the news. Then the Star link stopped working.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
But
Thank you for posting it. It’s a lot easier to get all the news when everyone posts stuff you know.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
yea...
it took me forever to get the deal…I got the news when 610 text me…is all…I just wanted to get it out…nothing more….lol
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
Yeah
Thanks….unfortunately I don’t listen to local radio a whole lot so I miss a lot of that stuff.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
It's an exciting time to be a Chiefs Fan!
December 15th should become a national holiday!
KC Tat Guy - December 15, 2008

Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I gotta say
Lanier deserves most of the credit for this :)
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
YEP!
Lanier are you still here? Get to work, you have a post due!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
Agreed. And get to work, like Eric said. :)
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
May have to re-do
my signature! Oh well I am not afraid!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
This is exciting but
I’ll say thanks to Carl for some great years. I do wish you and your family well.
Lanier63 - December 15, 2008
I Will Agree With That
No hard feelings, thank you to Carl for taking the high road and stepping aside, and I appreciate the service rendered and I’m sure he did his best.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
I agree...
…he turned the place around…and then took it back to crap…this is overdue…but yes, we wish him well..wherever he ends up….
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
And his 70 Million well too for 19 years of work.
I know Carl, you don’t know Carl and (thank goodness) you are no Carl ;)
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
He did his best
And took a lot of criticism but never faltered. I guess there’s some positive somewhere in that.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!
Am I dead? Is this heaven?
I think I’m having a heart attack.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Ha...

woodman212 - December 15, 2008

I think
it’s Hey Elizabeth I think this is the big one, ah hell who cares. going streaking
madtheory - December 16, 2008
LOL
I figured more than a few people would be happy with this.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
Honestly, I was so happy and relieved I almost started to cry. It actually had to hold it back.
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
I'm Almost Crying Now
Honestly, I had resigned myself to him coming back. I want to drive up to Arrowhead right now and drive around the parking lot honking and screaming at the top of my lungs.
Herm, your ass is next, buddy.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
think carl did it
to save herm?
johnnyo_99 - December 15, 2008
Best Thing
To happen to the Chiefs all year. Including the draft.
ChiefsDude - December 15, 2008
year? how about decade
johnnyo_99 - December 15, 2008
Clark live on NFLN
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
He expects the new GM to be from outside the organization and will be focusing his search on someone without ties to the Chiefs!!!!!!
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
no shit?
johnnyo_99 - December 15, 2008
Yep, that's almost verbatim.
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
IT IS HEAVEN!!!
Bye bye Bill…your crappy drafts have not gone unnoticed or unpunished.
I’ve got no problems with Thum sticking around, by the way…he was just an accountant anyway and he did a good job with the caps and contracts. It wasn’t his fault that Peterson affixed those contracts to crappy players.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
They are talking about it
Clark is talking on NFL network! They are going to evaluate Herm in the off season!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I don't have NFLN
What did he say??
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
See my post above this one
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008

THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008

woodman212 - December 15, 2008
No Realist...just like about this season
You should try it sometime…does wonders for attitudes
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
you are goofy...
lol…
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
Considering the Mickey Mouse season we've had
…I’ll take that as a compliment :)
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
I Don't Blame Clark For Caring About The Bottom Line
That’s what good businessmen do.
As long as he combines that with a drive to win a championship, he’s still aces in my book.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Superbowl =good business
KCking - December 15, 2008
Agreed
The bottom line should always be combined with an attempt to put the best possible product on the field. With Peterson the fans got one for the last decade, but not the other. Hopefully the new guy can deliver both.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
And Play Nice, Truth...
This is a good day for Chiefs fans. We don’t have to squabble about Peterson any more because he’s OUT OF HERE!!! We can find new things to squabble about. Better things. Things that don’t involve having to rehash a decade of futility.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Just need to vent a little
It’s been such a long time coming. Just the idea that the status quo has changed and we have the POTENTIAL to become a SB team with a new outlook.
I have to admit that my views of Clark have become more positive. Maybe he is the type of owner that will “only take so much”
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
God, I Hope So
His dad never got rid of the people who mismanaged that team. Even Jack Steadman hung around forever. Maybe Clark really is different.
Thank you, Clark Hunt…thank you.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
New GM will evaluate
Coaching, fresh set of eyes to evaluate everything, and new GM will decide on coach.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008

woodman212 - December 15, 2008
wow, just wow
johnnyo_99 - December 15, 2008
Herm is as good as gone!
No GM from outside the org will want his A$$!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008

I don’t care if we don’t know each other…is there anyplace we can get together and drink heavily?
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Arrowhead....sunday?
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
Cannot drink anymore
Wildman comes out, bad things happen!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I will drive from Tampa Florida for this.
madtheory - December 16, 2008
Thank god our nightmare is over.
Carl, thanks for your first 10 years, I wish both parties had moved on a decade ago and we’d all be better off.
Fantastic news that we’ll be bringing in someone from outside.
Scott Pioli please! You’ve got to at least offer it to him!
I don’t care about Herm Edwards anymore. As long as we bring in a competent GM, then the new guy will pick a coach, and that coach won’t be Herm.
Offense of the 70s - December 15, 2008
Marty or Cowher if we had a choice?
GM or Coach if we had a choice?
I would love Cowher as our coach, and keeping Gailey would be good.
Shawn - December 15, 2008
See my post above!
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
I DON'T CARE, I DON'T CARE, I DON'T CARE
All I care about right now is that it’s over!!! I’ll worry about what the Chiefs should do to replace him tomorrow.
This just made my week.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Better go on a beer run!
Shawn - December 15, 2008
Im Back
UCrawford you have to be the happiest man alive. I’ve decided to join the Chiefs cause again. I went into Hibernation after the Jets loss and told myself I will not talk about the Chiefs until Carl or Herm and hopefully both go. Now that Carl is gone, I am back.
CBaller13 - December 15, 2008
Welcome Back, Brother
I am ecstatic and it’s a good day to be a Chiefs fan.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Pioli. Wouldn't he love to come here as GM and stick it to the Chargers twice a year?!!
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
YEP...and he doesn't even need to brush up the resume
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
From now on....
Holidays added to the Chiefs calendar in the same fashion as Good Friday and Easter…
Dec. 13th…Day our Founder died…
Dec. 15th…Day Carl Resigned
Into the darkness and brought back out…HAZAAA
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
Ugh. Well, get ready for a decade of suck.
At least a decade.
You don’t lose the people in charge of the rebuilding in the middle of the rebuilding. The guys who come in will have a different vision of how things should be done and change it up.
You think they’ll stick with Thiggy and the ArrowSpread? Probably not. Especially not if you bring in Cowher and Marty.
That means that we start rebuilding. Again. We get to enjoy several more seasons of nothing good while the new guys try to get their systems in place. Except, now we’ve got the precedent established that you bail out when it doesn’t work immediately.
So, Clark’ll get frustrated when they don’t go from 2-14 or 3-13 to 13-3 in a single season.
Welcome to New Detroit, guys.
JacinB - December 15, 2008
Actually...
Detroit suffered from KEEPING the same guy….so…doesnt really translate…
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
I was about to say that
but then I remebered Detroit’s record this year too.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Millen Got Fired Mid-Season
There’s nothing Mayhew could have done to fix that situation except what he did…trade Roy Williams for an exorbitant price. Millen could never have pulled that off.
By the way, if the Chiefs are going to be looking for new GM candidates immediately, I wonder if this bumps Mayhew out of the running since he’s still the guy in Detroit?
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
I'm not saying Millen wasn't the problem
I’m just pointing out an obvious comeback.
KCking - December 15, 2008
What, Millen Coming Here?
It’s not going to happen. His career as a front office executive is fucking over. Nobody will ever hire him to run a team.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
I didn't say I want Millen!
NO NO NO! I do NOT want MIllen!
KCking - December 15, 2008
Dude
Carl Peterson’s teams haven’t won a playoff game in 15 years. This was the decade of suck. And it’s finally come to an end.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Not yet
We’ve got to get a competent replacement first. Can’t get ahead of ourselves and anger the football gods.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Agreed
I need to get home and start doing up a short list…I wonder if the Chiefs will announce who their candidates are? If we can find out, we can start digging and checking their bios.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
Good idea
I am looking forward to what you find.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Yes...
…We already HAVE been a shinier version of Detroit…
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
lol...I never thought of it that way.
But considering the past two seasons…we haven’t been that far apart.
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
Yea...
and I mean that we have been winning some games…but not when it matters…in a looooooong time….so we are just like them already…just a flashier version of the Lions…
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
If there will even be anyone at the game on Sunday...
They should ALL have “COME BACK MARTY” signs
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
Doesn't matter.
I don’t care. You don’t fire the guy in charge of the rebuiliding efforts in the middle of the rebuilding.
This is a bigger setback to the Chiefs becoming a playoff contender any time in the near future than letting Carl finish this out would’ve been. Clark should’ve let Carl and Herm finish it out until the end of Herm’s contract next year. Then, if it didn’t work, scrap it and start over.
Now, we’ve had two years of scrapping it and starting over (or, in actuality, one year of trying to hold it together with duct tape and one year of actually starting over) and they’re scrapping it before they see if it’s got a shot at working.
So, rather than seeing improvement next year, we’re going to get to see more rebuilding as the new guys try to fit Herm’s square pegs into their own round holes. And then, when that doesn’t work, they’ll blame it on Herm’s system and scrap it.
Then, they’ll bring in their own guys that fit their own system. And, they’ll try to make that work. Except, midway through the season where things are looking bleak in the record books but you’re seeing improvement on the field, Carl balks.
And, then we’re looking at new guys in the front office and in the coaching staff and the whole thing starts all over again.
JacinB - December 15, 2008
“Carl balks” should’ve been “Clark balks”. Too many people in this drama with ‘C’, ‘A’, ‘R’, and ‘L’ in their names.
JacinB - December 15, 2008
I understand your point
but I honestly don’t see how things could get much worse. Rebuild the rebuild I say.
TheQ - December 15, 2008
Clark want's to build the organization the right way.
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
I agree and I don't see how the new GM
brings back Herm and the Gang. Start from scratch.
TheQ - December 15, 2008
We already were.
We already are starting from scratch. This is the first year that Herm had really been given the chance to start things over and get rid of all of the old players and build it all back up with rookies.
JacinB - December 15, 2008
Exactly my point
So how could it get any worse. If you are going to make a change, a change that I think needs to be made, now is the time. Why wait for another year to see if they can turn this around? A change needed to be made and soon because what decent candidates there might be out there for the GM position are going to get grabbed up quickly. We may never see this many GM jobs open at once and I feel pretty good about the fact that the Chiefs job is a premier one. Great franchise, great fans, good owner (definitely renewed my trust in him. Thanks Clark). Perhaps we can grab a fresh mind who can shape the Chiefs for the next 10-15 years? Carl has been the King for most of my adult life and I can’t take one more season.
TheQ - December 15, 2008
I am worried that you could be right
starting another rebuild in the middle of a rebuild, the only way to make it not as bad is keeping the coach, which many wouldn’t be happy with either.
I need more Esteban - December 15, 2008
This is going to implode.
No two ways about it.
JacinB - December 15, 2008
No way, there are better
Football minds out there, Herm, and Carl were not the end all be all of things.
Eric Allen - December 15, 2008
They Weren't Even Close To The End All, Be All
Like I said, it’s the same mentality as an abusive relationship. Chiefs fans have been getting mistreated by Peterson for so long that they start believing he really is the only thing keeping this team together. But in actuality, he’s just the guy holding the team back.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY WE ARE FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Martin Luther Chief
kcchiefsfan56 - December 15, 2008
This has got to be the nail in Herm's coffin too
A new GM would almost have to start complety over with a new coaching staff. I feel sorry for all those families at Christmas time, but now is the time to start looking for a new GM. With the Lions position and possibly a couple of others besides us, there should be some people throwing their hat in the ring. If you want a GM position, this would be a great time to become one. This jobs don’t open very often.
TheQ - December 15, 2008
I just realized
he was hired on Dec. 19th 1989 and announced his resignation on Dec. 15th. Should have waited until Friday…nah, it’s good…today is good.

….better for the team….get the distraction over with earlier in the week…
woodman212 - December 15, 2008
Wow...
People are going bonkers here! Hahahaha!!!
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
Finially
some good Chiefs news
Now lets move and get some fresh blood in here
bigknoxy - December 15, 2008
From outside the organization?
Now I know how Lions fans felt when Millen stepped down (and I hope that our fate is better than theirs have been so far.) This is an amazing early Christmas present!
Dan Holmes - December 15, 2008
It will be
He left mid-season so his replacement really hasn’t been given enough time to make a difference….now I’m not saying he should be given 19 years mind you ;)
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
I've already forgotten
the Chargers loss.
KCking - December 15, 2008
Seriously.
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
Interview with Clark Hunt on 810 right now
I need more Esteban - December 15, 2008
it was just a few questions, though
I need more Esteban - December 15, 2008
Anything good?
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
Hunt said
“Carl was supportive of the decision”, which Keitzman says implies that Carl was terminated and didn’t resign.
Also, that the business side and the football side will be seperated like most of the rest of the NFL does.
Now they are talking to Mitch Holtus
I need more Esteban - December 15, 2008
Clark also said
that the new GM will have big input on the coaching staff once the season is over. But Clark will ultimately make the final decision. Interesting.
I need more Esteban - December 15, 2008
Clark said the business side hires may come from within and
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
and the GM interviews will be with some members of playoff teams
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
and the GM will have major input on the coaching staff
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
Like our current GM does.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
AHHHHH!!!!
See ya, Hermie!!!
I’m sure that EVERYONE outside of the organization knows that Herm is NOT the head coach for this team.
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
Wow
That’s interesting.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
I think we all should pray...
Please… God.
Bring to us Bill Cowher and Marty Shottenheimer. I promise I wont steal pens from work anymore. I promise to stop lying to my girlfriend when I say “I’m tired. I wanna go to sleep now” when I’m REALLY playing Madden and she’s only distracting me.
PLEASE GOD!
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
LOL!!
(cough) I don’t know anyone who has done that (cough)
bigknoxy - December 15, 2008
Yeah.
Bring back Martyball. That was an exciting time to be a Chiefs fan.
Or, get Cowher so we can go smashmouth and forget all about the passing game. I mean, it isn’t really like we like watching D Bowe and Tony G anyway, right? They can just be there to support the straight-ahead, power-running style of … well, whomever we bring in because it won’t be LJ.
Gee golly am I jazzed about what’s ahead.
JacinB - December 15, 2008
Mitch Holtus's show in Olathe tonight
T-gon is the guest and Clark Hunt is going to lead off the show with an interview.

DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
Cue the church bells!
The kind is dead!
Thanks for everything, Carl. This is about 10 years too late but good news nonetheless.

Ding Dong the Bitch is dead!

R2J_24 - December 15, 2008

kcchiefsfan56 - December 15, 2008
I wonder if Tony G will be more inclined to stay in KC over the off-season now? I hope Mitch asks him tonight.
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
I haven't seen so much Chiefs unity in soooooo long a time. Finally, something positive the vast majority has wanted
…Tito, give me some tissue…Jermaine, stop teasing
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
Clark's interview on 810 let it slip that Carl was fired, he didn't resign.
Clark said “he (Carl) supported the decision.”
Meaning, Clark made the decision and Carl supported it.
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
Translation
He was asked to resign gracefully.
sir eccles - December 15, 2008
Smart Way To Handle It
No sense in throwing Carl to the wolves if there’s no need. And prospective GM candidates will appreciate a boss who exercises discretion more than one who throws his employees under the bus publicly to make a statement.
Clark Hunt handled it well.
UCrawford - December 15, 2008
where can i listen to this interview!!!
kcchiefsfan56 - December 15, 2008
http://radiotime.com/WebTuner.aspx?StationId=29237&

Chris Thorman - December 15, 2008
+1 million
Shawn - December 15, 2008
Chris, PT, is the site getting blown up by visits with this news? It seems a little laggy.
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
maybe we need a second half thread
sir eccles - December 15, 2008
LOL
Yeah there are a ton of hits coming through.
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
OMG....810 is going nuts. They're playing "Celebration" and then "the muchkins" from Wizard of Oz
I’m happier then a $5 hooker getting a $10 tip…..what a great line.
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
I'm not even lying...
I was SO happy… I freakin texted my Father (who I havent spoken to in 6 years) and said, “WE FIRED CARL PETERSON!!”
(TRUTH, I’m laughing my ass off here at work when I hear how crazy people are going on 810 and they play that song.)
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
Dude...I'm so happy for you. Keitzman went NUTS and they keep replaying it.
He said it’ll probably be on youtube…can’t wait.
THE_TRUTH - December 15, 2008
Probably good timing
The replacement is gonna need to get on their pony regarding our next draft.
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - December 15, 2008
Innerwebz hugs to all!!!
DThomasReigns - December 15, 2008
Wow
Chris and PT you guys should make a poll to see how many people are in favor of this! For me it’s about time. Let the good times roll..this is just the beginning of the chiefs back to glory
Derrick*58*Liveson! - December 15, 2008
Good idea
Joel Thorman - December 15, 2008
And then...
DEATH TO ANYONE WHO ISNT IN FAVOR OF IT!
R2J_24 - December 15, 2008
One thing I will give him credit...
for is the whole youth movement that we took on. In the long run it will prove to have been a good decision.
Derrick*58*Liveson! - December 15, 2008
Thank you, Sweet Jesus
Christmas came early!
chiefstatnut - December 15, 2008
Poll is up!
