Translation: I better give the other guy credit to deflect attention from our inability to sack the quarterback.
Derrick Johnson on the team's effort on Sunday:
“You can’t confuse good effort with results, but we’ve been playing our butts off. The Denver Broncos really made some great plays and in a game that comes down to two or three plays, that’s really huge. The game today legitimately came down to two or three plays and they were the ones who made them.“

I Wouldn't Be Surprised To See Peterson Turn Down A Gonzalez Trade Request
First, because it’s unlikely we’re going to get equivalent value to him, second because Peterson may (hopefully) be in his final season so what does he care if he’s burning bridges with the players?

I really think Carl just wants “his pick” to retire a Chief so he can have drafting the best TE of all time as a notch on his belt. Clark doesn’t want to let him go either because we can’t get equivalent value and so he’ll hang another trade fiasco on Carl’s neck which can be one of the precursors for Carl’s departure. We (hypothetically) keep Tony and lose Carl which in my book is two birds with one stone.

That’s what I was trying to say. Tony G may request a trade but I’m skeptical that he’ll get one. What happens if he’s turned down, though, is anyone’s guess.

I like Tony too. But the guy is making more cash than I will my entire life. I hope he gets to win the Super Bowl but if he doesn’t he doesn’t most players don’t. Most people don’t even get to start on their Pop Warner team.

They the last few games
have played out, I’m thinking that TG is critical to the “development” movement. If we lose him, we lose at least half of our offensive production. I really hope that he remains committed and that we can reward him with at least a playoff spot next year.

TG is critical to this team but if he becomes a loser an demands a trade and starts complaining I’m not going to feel sorry for him. Any one that makes 7 figures a year doesn’t need my pity.
It would be great to see him kiss the Lombardi Trophy he’s a great player and even a better person.

I Don't Think He'll Be A Cancer If He Isn't Traded
I don’t think that’s his style. But what I could see him doing is pulling a Willie Roaf and just hang it up if he can’t stomach the losing anymore. And frankly, I wouldn’t blame him. No sense in risking your long-term health any longer for a team that’s going nowhere if you’re not having fun anymore.

Herm, Hali And The Rest
For once I don’t really have a problem with Herm’s playcalling decisions. He needed the TD, he knew the defense can’t stop a Pop Warner team, so he went for the tie because it was the only way to win the game. As someone else noted, you know your defense is rotten when it gets a conservative coach like Herm gambling.
For Hali, big of him to admit that he’s admitting he’s not getting it done, but it doesn’t fix anything. If he’s hurt he needs to admit it and the team needs to put him on IR so he can heal up for next year…otherwise he needs to produce results because he’s a third year guy and this dropoff is unacceptable.
