Throughout the spring and summer, we'll be projecting player stats for the upcoming season.
Devard Darling will be battling for the Chiefs no. 2 WR spot, depending on who else the Chiefs pick up in the draft and the rest of the off-season. Here are his career stats:
2007 - Played in sixteen games, started one; Eighteen receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns.
2005-2006 - Played in eleven games, no stats.
2004 - Played in three games; Two receptions for five yards.
So where do you think he'll end up in 2008? Here's my projection -- 41 receptions, 415 yards and two touchdowns. I imagine Darling will be a notch above Samie Parker.

I am going to reach high and predict:
61 receptions715 yards
6 touchdowns
17.0 yards per catch avg.
All that with Bowe getting the numbers he posted this year and no slack for Tony G.
I just have a good feeling on this one and for our upcoming season.

Devard Darling's Projected Stats
Chris,Whoa, you're claiming that the guy's going to drop from 18 yards per reception playing in an offense almost as bad as the Chiefs to just over 10? A more realistic yardage prediction based on your reception numbers (because who really knows how many balls will get to him from Croyle) is something around 13-14 yards per catch (resulting in 533-574 yards).
10 yards per catch? Hell, man, even Samie Parker pulled down more than 12 yards per and he fell down after every other reception.

I thought about that
But I also saw that Darling had a 53 yarder which skewed his stats a bit.Point taken though.

If he doesn't at least double his stats
then I think Herm has no idea how to run a offense or find good offensive players. Hopefully hes a diamond that just needs playing time.TXroyal - March 14, 2008
I think he will get cut in August
No I don't, he will have 53 receptions for 649 yards and 3 scores. Its pretty early for this but there is my .02 cents.Tom Bahali - March 14, 2008
