Yes! Fantastic pick by the Chiefs' brass. Glenn Dorsey has routinely been called the best player in this draft and the Chiefs obviously could not pass on his talent. Even with Herm Edwards penchant for rounding up picks, Dorsey was simply too good to pass up.
Making this pick even more incredible, the Chiefs turned down a last minute offer from the Saints. The offer was this year's first round pick (#10) and next year's second round pick.
**UPDATE 12:05 PM CDT** PFT is reporting that ESPN said that the Raiders will select RB Darren McFadden with the #4 pick.
Well, here we are. The most important draft in the history of the Kansas City Chiefs.
I'll be updating this post with the picks. In the meantime, we have a plethora of fantastic FanPosts to keep you entertained. Check them out to the right side of the page. NFL.com's coverage is here.
So, dive right in and start commenting.
GO CHIEFS!!!

Whats the chance, since we heard all thr rumors this Spring about Al Davis
canning Lane Kiffen, that Kiffen screws Davis with the fist pick and selects a nobody? Woudn’t that be a hoot!
Remember Al uses a walker, he cant chase down the guy who takes the card up to Goodell.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Finally
After a hectic two days with Miss Arrowhead Pride’s family, I’m sitting down in front of the computer and finally feeling relaxed.
GOOOOOOOO CHIEFS!!!!
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Chiefs are on the clock
From PFT the Raiders will take McFadden.
Rams will take C Long
Falcons will take Matt Ryan
Raiders take McFadden
That means Dorsey for us !!!!!!!!!!!! Or this is all trade bait.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Nice
Glenn Dorsey? I’ll take it. He’s Kiper’s #1 rated player.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I'd rather have Ellis.
And if Dorsey is available, we should trade back with the Saints or someone who is in love with G. Dorsey, and then pick up an OT later on.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Good point
Dorsey does provide a lot more trade leverage than Ellis.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Disagree
I love the idea of trading down and getting more picks, but if Dorsey is on the board at #5 the Chiefs need to take him.
Dorsey is the one transcendent talent in this draft, the one guy who will make other players around him better, and fills a slot that has been a consistent need for the Chiefs since the days of Dan Saleaumua. Dorsey will make Tank Tyler a better player, will free up our linebackers to make tackles, and will compensate for fact that we will be lacking at defensive end and cornerback.
Draft Dorsey if he is there. If Dorsey is gone, trade down and acquire more picks.
BlameChannel53 - April 26, 2008
That's my vote
I’d love to have Dorsey.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Here, Here
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
You know what, you may have just changed my mind...
I have thought since January that since we play mostly a Tampa 2 scheme, Sedrick Ellis would be the better fit for our D.
Plus, I figured Dorsey would, without a doubt, be gone by the time we picked.
But y’know, it would be pretty sweet if we got Dorsey, and while I’m still not going to go as far as dying to choose Dorsey over Ellis, I certainly won’t be upset if we choose Dorsey.
Honestly, I trust Herm and you guys, and since most of you guys (and Herm, from what I have read) like Dorsey better, I’ll defer.
Regarding Brandon Albert, though, I’m sticking my ground. ;)
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Sounds like the Draft really begins at 2:05....lol
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Bob Gretz
i still cant believe he was fired. he was actually accurate unlike whitlock.
thechiefsarrow - April 26, 2008
I know
I’m completely shocked.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
ESPN is reporting rumors
of the Rams selecting Chris Long.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
ESPN projections
If it goes down this way….
Long
Long
Ryan
McFadden
......
Dorsey is there. So is Gholston. Those are two guys that several teams would be willing to give something up for.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Yes.
Here is what I want to do if such a situation presents itself…
1) Trade Down to 9/10/something like that (both the Bungles and Aints love G. Dorsey and Ellis)
2) Dorsey
3) Ellis
4) Gholston
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
ESPN Draft projection
It’s in that PFT link too.
1. Jake Long
2. Chris Long
3. Matt Ryan
4. Darren McFadden
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I say take Dorsey if that happens
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Chiefs will rob other teams if they trade down from Dorsey
Its going to take one hell of a deal to get the Chiefs to trade down from Dorsey. Peterson is going to hold them up for all he can get out of them.
ChiefDJ - April 26, 2008
Shockey?
Do we field 2 studly tight ends? I say no, but it’s interesting. I’d pull the trigger on Dorsey after losing Allen
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - April 26, 2008
Not a chance on Shockey
He’s not a KC type of guy…kinda like LJ….
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
No on Shockey
Not a Herm or Chiefs type of move.
You’re right though, that is interesting.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
If he intimidated Eli, imagine what he would do to Brodie
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Call him a redneck
The guy’s name is Eli, I’m just sayin, Eli’s suzy-ness is unparalleled.
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - April 26, 2008
His actual name is actually
‘Elisha’.
So, even worse than Eli, I guess.
Wikipedia it, it’s true…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
The media is getting played hard
This is the thickest BS being swallowed as truth I have seen in a long time. The draft may go down as is reported, but this smacks of trade posturing.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Agreed
PFT made a good point. If these reports are to be believed, then someone is leaking info from the war room. That would be tough to believe.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Thanks
I always catch myself actually believing these reports.
I enjoy reading the rumors, but I’m in the I’ll believe it when I see it mode
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
I buy all of that up to the Raiders
I concur, the Chris Long thing seems legit, and he does have Gattica’d DNA, but Atlanta, well I kinda trust the rumors, and Ryan would effectively negate the Vick scandal, but I never trust what Al Davis is doing.
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - April 26, 2008
DNA Sample: Gattica'd. That quote is liquid awesome.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
So what happens if McFadden falls?
I mean sure Al Davis likes the flashy flashy but old coot is loco, so what do we do if we’ve got the RB in the draft in our lap with LJ in the wings?
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - April 26, 2008
Don't think we'll do it
But there are plenty of teams who would…
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
We entertain trade offers
If that’s even possible in the ten minute window.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I wouldn't mind taking him.
I am not going to lobby for it though. LJ only has about 3 years of peak production left in him, max. We could extend that and extend the life of McFadden. Both would have contracts to be happy with (for awhile). LJ, DMC, and Kolby would be a stout stable.
But I think it is the most unlikely scenario.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Here is a draft day question sorta
What of Charlie Casserly as Chiefs next GM? Been around the NFL quite awhile.
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
I still like the idea of Marty replacing Carl
He is a players type of guy, knows the game inside and out. Great talent evaluator. Needs a job.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Yeah I like that idea also
Is that what Marty is holding out for?
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
I'm up for Marty as GM...
As long as he doesn’t try and get back into coach as a dual Coach/GM.
That never, ever, ever works…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
That be OK, but the first time he screws up on a player
the angry roar of, “he’s the Real Deal!” will be deafening.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
not that it matters...
but casserly talks like he knows everything on NFL network. he also said he would never draft aquib talib.
thechiefsarrow - April 26, 2008
Is there any possibility in this day and time
we could end up with Dorsey and Albert?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Sure.
We take Dorsey at #5 if he falls, then we trade up to something like #11 if Albert is still there from #17 and take him there.
I don’t want to do that at all, I like Chris Williams much much better, but it is possible…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Rumors
are saying Chris Williams has a neck injury that wasn’t reported.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Is it serious?
I really like him, so hopefully that it isn’t serious, and he will slide to #17 and we can snap him up.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Albert will probably be around at #17
The only other team I’ve heard him associated with is #23 to the Steelers. Who cares what McShay or Kiper say?
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
That's what ESPN had
They have us moving down to #10 (From Saints) and drafting Alberts, so i could see him being there at #17
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Let me say
that auto-refresh kicks ass.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Here, Here
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Agreed
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
No kidding, this is sooo much easier now
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I just wish I had that software that allows you to just talk, no typing
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I wish I could use these command features in long ass email chains at work.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Also, the little pop-up showing who has posted something new also kicks ass
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Gameday will be cool!
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
Mooch for next HC!
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
We might hit 100 posts before the draft even starts.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
More than likely
I’ll open up another thread once we hit 300-400.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I wish one of the Royals could hit that
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Chris any news on
Who we are looking at very closely?
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
Watching ESPN and reading a bunch of stuff
No consensus anywhere on who we’ll pick or any new rumors beyond what we’ve reported here in the comments.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Man
I never realized what a thickneck “the Rog” was
Official Arrowhead Pride Parade - April 26, 2008
Almost turkey like
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Otah at 17?
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
I have a feeling the Bears will take him at #14...
I would rather have Williams anyways…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I'm still not buying this whole releasing picks thing...
No way this is actually truth that is being revealed.
Sure, it might happen this way, but I wouldn’t be shocked if even a couple of teams stray from the supposed, released list.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
As far as TV coverage
which do you guys prefer…NFL Network or ESPN?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
NFL Network..
Although Mayock is really annoying, he isn’t as annoying as Kiper.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I do watch both, though...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
NFLN
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I was wondering the same thing.
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
Matt Ryan
Just popped off with at the end of the day, gee who has he been talking to.
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
Yeah, but that's OK. That's what's great about him.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Matt is fine , he is ok
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
He made a few rookie cliche mistakes, but that's OK. That's to be expected.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I'll stop now, so we don't spam the board too much.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Thats ok
We still have Brodie and Damon we will be fine.
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
Ravens trying to move to number two
They want Matt Ryan.
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
Wow
ESPN?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
NFLN
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
That would be a dumb move...
Although I would like it, since we would then be absolutely guaranteed one of C. Long, Dorsey or Ellis.
Ryan was way too INT-prone in college, and except the injury history, isn’t all that different from our own Brodie Croyle.
Strong arm, makes a lot of mistakes and dumb throws, and not always the most accurate QB in the world.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Can't see that Happening
Unless the Rams think that Chris Long will fall to #8.
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
DBowe runs through our Blog Chanting
“60 minutes till Draft time”
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Longest. Hour. Ever.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
NO trying to get number four.
Eric Allen - April 26, 2008
I am a little concerned about the Carl P article today on Warpaint
What if he trades down just for more picks with one of those studs still available?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I think it's Herm draft
That’s what the papers and other sites have reported.
With that said, I’m nearing gambling status about the Chiefs trading down. It’s gonna happen.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Me too, Chris
Dorsey or Ryan will be there….several teams want each of those guys bad.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
On that note
If we were willing to trade away our best defensive player for multiple draft picks, doesn’t it make sense that we would NOT draft a player who could yield multiple picks?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
If you haven't read the Parade's
latest FanPost, it’s worth it.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
NFLN Rumor:
Saints are trying to trade up to #4 to nab Dorsey.
That would suck..
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Maybe
It sounds like we’re pretty committed to trading down.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Steve Young is saying on ESPN
the only way Atlanta can turn the page from the Vick saga is to Draft Ryan.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I like Keyshawn's response
“It’s not that easy. People are going to remember Michael Vick no matter what.”
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
LOL... I can tlisten and type at the same time...I missed that
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Hey ESPN
On draft day, NO ONE cares about the NBA Playoffs
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Looks like PFT crashed.
I imagine they are getting an insane amount of hits today.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Yeah, a ton I bet
They got like 1.5 million on the start of free agency…probably well over 2 million today.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Pageviews
I’m an internet nerd.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I agree
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
n3rd!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
At least when we were down
We had a graphic that said what was up.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Kind of surprised it reads, "Database error," instead of "Server error."
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
20 min until the Draft. Mike Florio is presently going apeshit.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Shall we dare to call today...
A Chiefsmas Miracle?
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
I'm up for it
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Goodell just said on NFL Net that they will look at the way things transpired
with Miami being able to negotiate with several players, then choosing and signing Long before the Draft. He wants to know if it is an unfair advantage to the first pick. Although most teams wouldn’t want the first pick for obvious reasons.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I'm calling it now
Chiefs trade down almost no matter what. Granted, they need a partner in this deal but I think that’s going to happen.
We traded away Allen for multiple picks. We’ll do the same with our #5 draft pick. It’s the team’s philosophy now.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I agree with the logic, but, damn,
I’d like to think we come out of this with at least 1 premier player and not 2nd or 3rd best.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
RE
Maybe Herm doesn’t believe you need a “premiere” player.
Seriously.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
That makes a ton of
sense as I sit here and read back what I just typed.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
It depends on how far we trade back...
but I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to trading back.
We do need a lot of help at a lot of different positions, although it would be nice to come out of it with a stud.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I believe he doesn't too
That;s why we are in a catch 22. If these guys turn out to be Pro Bowlers in 3 years, and we need to re-sign them. That is if Herm is still here.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Big if
This city is used to winning. And by “used to winning” I mean hasn’t won a playoff game in 15 years.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Sorry, meant to nest that one.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I don't think
Herm is against keeping players that develop beyond their expectations. Maybe just the ones like Jared Allen, who was a major superstar who was somewhat disruptive to management?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
If so, we need to re-sign DJ now.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Excellent point
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
So let me ask a fair question
Is Clark letting CP and Herm draft for the next Coach? Is Clark going to let a stud get away?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Depends on how much
they believe in Herm.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
NFL Net is going to rerun Hard Knocks with the Chiefs
beginning May 9th
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Just saw that too.
The promo should be, “How to field a crappy team.”
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I remember last year how many comments from teams
on how bad we looked in training camp. But, I’ll watch it again. I’m an addict.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
NFL Nest says Ravens Mgt heard the report on moving up
and said it wasn’t true. It would cost them their entire draft picks, aka Mike Ditka and the Saints.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Jeebus, is the NFL or TMZ.com?
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
The amount of bullshit
is accelerating big time.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
lol...I know less at this minute than I did when I woke up.
I am so distrusting of everything right now, you could tell me I am a male, and then I would secretly suspect I’m a female.
I am going to go check my pants.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Me too...
Everything is being interpreted as a smoke screen by me, although ESPN is accepting everything as fact.
They have all but put Chris Long into the tracker as being drafted by the Rams.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
"Covet"
What’s the over under on it’s usage by the talking heads today?
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
or my misuse of "it's"
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Mock
A Mock Draft on NFL has us trading with New England (#7) and drafting Matt Ryan and then Michael Jenkins with the 17th pick
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Interesting
Everything I’m reading is that the Chiefs aren’t interested in Ryan.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Yea
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
So the question of the hour is...
Is the Chiefs first pick going to be on the stage at the Draft or not?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
What do you mean by on the stage?
Do only the first rounders do that or something?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
No, the players they invite
They only invite 6 or 7 players each year to actually be at the draft.
He’s saying he wonders if we will trade down or take a shot at #5.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Check
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Apparently they only introduced Long, Long, Ryan, McFadden, Dorsey, Ellis and Gholston
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
10 minutes to go...
Get a beer, snack, and a preemptive trip to the bathroom! We will live and die by this weekend.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Why...
Do I have this feeling we will either
1). Trade down and get ripped off
OR
2). Draft someone that is not #5 pick worthy (Kinda like Ryan Sims)
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Draft Time!
in HD baby!
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
NO!!!
I have lost my remote!
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
FOUND IT!!!!!!!!
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
I have to admit
This is just as exciting as the last few laps at Daytona with my man in the number 5 position.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
3, 2, 1,...
GO!
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
I can't believe how freaking nervous I am.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I'm anixous as hell
Here we go!
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Me too...
This is an incredibly important Draft for us, and I am awfully nervous we will screw it up, somehow.
Good, Miami officially took Jake Long already. No dinking around like in years’ past…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
We gotta take Glenn Dorsey
if he’s still there. We know he can play injured!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
you're right
If Ryan is gone, and we trade to 10 with the Saints for Dorsey, I don’t think Albert falls past the Ravens.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Damn
Missed out on Jake Long.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
haha.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
your a faster typer than me
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
ROFL
He’s too small to make it in the NFL anyway, better off without him.
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Agreed!
Too many questions by experts on his potential NFL performance at LT.
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
He could be an absolutely stellar RT..
although I’m not sure if he could move to LT.
In hindsight, I’m kind of glad we didn’t get him…
Well, not really hindsight, but you get what I’m saying…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I have a feeling
Jake will be coming our way in 4-5 years. He is a Dolphin offensive lineman…
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
LOL!
Yeah, he’ll come in an sub for RT.
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
These last few Coors light commercials
are actually tolerable.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I have to admit..
I’ve liked almost all of them.
Some of them are stupid stupid stupid, but the majority of them are funny.
Some of them, namely the Denny Green ones, are only funny because of the coach, and the lines written in are stupid.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Now is the time to put to rest all rumors
here we go Rams
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Surprised we haven't heard from UCrawford today.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
and JasonM
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Uhoh
I just remembered that have to go buy some cat food before the vet closes.
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Hmm,
Who else votes for me to go to the vet tomorrow?
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
PFT back up.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Who is the guy sitting next to Steve Marruchi on NFL Net?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Mike Mayock?
or Marshall Faulk?
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Maycock
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
That is weird...
The Falcons went on the clock before the Rams officially made their pick…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Damn it!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Its a Long Long draft so far
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Here we go Dorsey
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Falcons, please take Ryan, please take Ryan, please take Ryan
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Please!
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Yep
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
C. Long gone...
I’m not too pissed off…
Hopefully, the Falcons don’t take Dorsey.
I have, only today, become a big Dorsey fan. Plus, that would allow us some serious options to trade back…
Please, Falcons, take Matt Ryan…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
YES!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
They are showing Matt Ryan smiling on the phone
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
It looks like Ryan is the pick...
He is all happy, kissing his mom, etc.
Awesome, awesome news…
YES!
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Matt Ryan will be picked
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Nice
Man, the draft, so far, is going the Chiefs way. Scary.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Dammit, Chris! Don't jinx it!!!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I figured the
“so far” wouldn’t jinx it. I did think about the jink…
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
+1.
I just hope we don’t screw it up…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Whew
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Yes!
D-Mac and Dorsey still on the board. Great possibility of trade down situation with both on the board.
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Lucky guy
3 money simply because he came out in a weak QB class.Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Smart move!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
So, assuming the Raiders take McFadden...
Would you rather:
A) Take Dorsey
B) Trade Down and pick up some extra picks
I prefer A, but like Chris, see B as a more likely possibility.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Prefer A
B will almost certainly happen. But I could be eating my works in twenty minutes.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Agreed!
I would love to sup’ up our D with Dorsey in the middle with Boone. If we do trade down, it better be for great compensation.
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
It's a win win
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
A only
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
When you think of Atlanta
What’s the first thing that comes to mind?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
"Winning games!"
I was waiting for the words “Michael Vick” and/or “Dogfighting” to come out, but I guess that would be a bad way to endear yourself to Falcon fans.
Oh, BTW, Falcons fans aren’t all that happy...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
They had better pay my ass well to play there.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
us in the Superbowl with Dorsey
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Helll yeah!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Well
You just jinxed us. Damn.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Arrggghhhh! Everyone shut up! j/k
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
So,
Which poor schmo gets to go to the Raiders?
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
we have to sign dorsey.
if we trade down for any reason, i’m going to be sick
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Yep
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
trade down?!?!
i don’t know if i could stomach passing up on a sure thing
camucr - April 26, 2008
Not our choice per se
But the most probability of happening IMO
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Darren McFadden!
We are on the clock
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Yes!!!!!!!!!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
Hellss YESSS
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
UNBELIEVABLE
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Wow
Remember now…we have to play against that guy twice a year….
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
That guy
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
* That guy + JaMarcus Russell...
they are getting better, of course they don’t have another pick till the 4th round, and they still can’t really stop the run.
But oh well…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Thanks
How in the hell did I do that?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I'll take that any day as long as we get Dorsey
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
NFL net guys are saying it is too hard to trade up into the top 5
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Screw that guy...
In Dorsey we trust!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
this is great so far.
i’m about to pee my pants with excitement.
-chris, we also have to play LT twice a year…
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
With our rush defense
We might as well throw Denver RB Selvin Young in there as well.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Depending on where we trade down and with whom...
I might not be too pissed off…
But I do really want Dorsey right now…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Do not Trade Dorsey!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Boo Yah
Dor-sey! Also, can I say that I’m glad Ryan is off the board, so the temptation to take a QB is greatly diminished with our pick
Picky - April 26, 2008
no joke
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
I'm shaking with nervousness
What is wrong with me????
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Parkinsons?
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
haha...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Me too! It's like we're in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
WHY
MUST THEY GO TO COMMERCIAL??
?
?
!!!!!!!
?!!?
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
ESPN sucks...
switch to NFLN…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Not on cable!
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Carl Peterson
is a tool. He’s the anti-Bill Polian. I hate what he has done to the Chiefs. It’s hard to get excited about having so many picks in this draft, knowing that he’s an idiot.
BTW, love the tomahawk chop music!!!!
Picky - April 26, 2008
+1.
Love the music!
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Holy Shit!
NO is offering this 1st and 2nd AND NEXT YEAR’S 1ST
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
OK, if that is Saints' offer for real...
10 this year, 2nd round this year and a 1st next year, I take it.I love Dorsey, and he will be awesome, but that is a lot of value…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
NFLN!!!!!
Why is he on a landline? Does he not have a cell phone?
Picky - April 26, 2008
Yea
but Dorsey is on the phone! With us?
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Offer on the table
Saints? I missed it!
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Trade
Hey, I’ll give you a bunch of future players so your team sucks again this year! Give me Dorsey!!!
Picky - April 26, 2008
The Chiefs will do that deal
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
We get Dorsey!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I'm crying right now. Happy tears.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
wow. can’t beleive they turned it down! kazaa!
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
God is so good to the Chiefs
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
It looks like we got Dorsey...
It’s hard to be pissed off when I have been calling for Dorsey all morning, but that trade looked awfully good.
Still, I am glad we actually took Dorsey.
WOOOHOO!
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I like!
Dorsey or trade out….I was fine with either.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Me too after hearing the 'Aints offer...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Nu?
Is this good then?
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Now we need a Offensive Tackle
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
chris williams
at 17 gets my vote!
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
+1.
I absolutely love Chris Williams…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
me too
i like him more than albert. albert seems like a ryan sims repeat to me… and taking a guard seems dumb anyway.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
OMG!
I agree with the Albert=Sims comparison…
It seems like you and me are the only ones that like Williams more than Albert though…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
seems like
a really risky pick for what our needs are.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Damn
This is beautiful. Dorsey is a BBMF! This was an awesome pick. I am so glad that they did not trade down…F*%$ yeah!
ilamuku - April 26, 2008
hahahahaha!!!
best player in the draft!
camucr - April 26, 2008
I bet the Jets take Gholston..
and the Pats take Albert.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Just glad...
that we didnt pick albert. Anybody hear about the trade the saints offered the chiefs? We should have taken that in a heartbeat, but I guess herm loves glenn! Good, so do i!
Ben S - April 26, 2008
Eh...
I wanted a premiere player in this Draft, and Dorsey is definitely one. At #10, we probably don’t get one…
It was a good offer, but we still got Dorsey…
I probably would have taken it, but oh well…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
on a side note,
love the live updating chris. it absolutely ROCKS.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
I'm in love with it
So easy.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Refresh
And take a look at the new Chiefs jersey at the top of this post….
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Love it...
Quick question: Wasn’t Tank Tyler #72 last season?
Who has to switch numbers, the stud #5 overall pick rookie, or the second-year veteran?
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
is that real?
???
i’m buying one
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Gholston=DeMarcus Ware...
Good fit in the 3-4 as the rush OLB that rushes the passer almost every time, like Ware is, but Gholston would have flopped if we drafted him, or anyone who runs a 4-3.
Glad we didn’t take him…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
fo
shizzle.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Wait, everyone....
PFT speculates the Saints could pick at 10 and then make the trade with us as written before.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Please, no Albert...
All of this positive energy will quickly evaporate if we trade frickin’ Dorsey for Albert plus some picks…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
WHAT?!
that would make me punch a baby.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
make me punch two...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
touche
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
I don't know how the 2nd sentence became inset like that. That is not a quote from PFT.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Glenn Dorsey
Man, it’s sinking in. Great move.
I’m out for about 20 minutes or so.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Now that is how to draft
Drafting the best player available instead of reaching for a tackle. Looks like Peterson is actually listening to the coaches for once.
stram#1 - April 26, 2008
I may be wrong, but am pretty sure that Herm gets final say...
Or Carl does, but Herm tells him who to pick with Clark Hunt looking over the shoulder, making sure that Herm gets his way.
I don’t think that Clark Hunt, like the Chiefs’ fanbase, trusts Carl Peterson…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
supposedly
peterson has no say in this draft. it’s all clark, herm, and kuharich
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
GOD LOVES US
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
So, we're just keeping Carl to dick up the contract negotiations?
I think he needs to just be fired.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
yea,
pretty much.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
did saints
just trade with new england?
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Since the Saints just traded with the Pats, I think we're safe
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Saints just traded up for S. Ellis...
Guaranteed.
Saints need a DT, which is why they wanted Dorsey, but will now just accept Ellis…
Or, hopefully, this isn’t some great grand scheme involving Dorsey.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
but the trade to get the Pats pick would lower the value of picks given to us.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
unless they also give us Jammal Brown, and 2nd and next year's 1st
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Yep!
Ellis to the Saints…
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
what did the Pats get out of the deal?
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
No one knows...
Probably the second this year and a 5th or 6th or 7th or something like that…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
They just showed it on ESPN but I wasn’t really paying attention. I think they swapped 1st round picks and a 3rd for a 5th round?
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Yea...
Pats get the Saints’ third rounder and the Saints get Pats’ 5th rounder…
That’s all…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
WHAT!?!?!?
What did the Jaguars have to give up to move up to #8?
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
wow, another trade from BAL to JAX
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Am I wrong or has Mayock been spot on with everthing that has and is happening?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
It is scary, And the first 5 when down as reported.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
He has done a pretty good job...
Better than anyone on E!SPN, that is for sure…
I don’t like his ranking of players, I disagree with them a lot, but he had been spot-on today.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Also, I am still doing my Dorsey happy dance!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
He said in the pre show that all 13 KC picks would not make the team
so KC would need to do some trading to get out of the late rounds and move up some
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Good deal for Ravens too...
They want a QB, so they might as well move down and take Brohm/Henne/Flacco.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Jags are trading for Harvey...
I agree with Mayock.
Do the Jags really think they are Super Bowl contenders?
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I think the Pats grab Albert at 10
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
+1.
Harvey to Jacksonville at 8
Rivers to Cincinnati at 9
Albert to Pats at 10
I don’t want Albert, so hopefully it goes down like that and we can take Williams at 17…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
phone rings in the Rivers household
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
I still can't believe we got Dorsey.
We got the consensus #1 from a month ago. Even if he busts, the front office made the right move. GO CHIEFS!!!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
+1.
He is a fairly safe pick, as far as bust potential goes, and he has the chance to be one of the best DT’s in the NFL.
Great pick…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
NFLN
I wish the talking heads would stop talking when somebody’s at the podium.
And what is wrong with the NFLN audio? Too bad this isn’t a multi-billion dollar industry or anything or that would look bad….what? it is? Oh.
Picky - April 26, 2008
What are the chances we land Ryan Clady for our next pick?
camucr - April 26, 2008
Bengals got screwed hard.
They needed Ellis badly, and the Saints reamed them. There isn’t a DT worth 10, unless they reach on Balmer.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
They really like Rivers too..
That is who I took in the AP Mock Draft.
They have virtually no one at LB, and Rivers is wearing a Bengals hat right now…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Bengals
Should have traded Chad Johnson. Too true Bill.
Picky - April 26, 2008
The Ravens basically got what we got for Allen, just for the 8th pick.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
1st, 2 3rd's, and a 4th
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Yea, I guess so...
We didn’t get a 4, but our 1st is 9 spots ahead of the 1st the Ravens got…
I don’t know what that says about the value we got for JA…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Jags only gave up
two 3’s and a 4.
Not that bad, they kept their 2…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
You are right, just a swap of 1st's. I wasn't considering the loss of their own 1st.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Who does everyone think the Pats are taking?
Albert?
Leodis?
Rodgers-Cromartie?
I bet it is Leodis, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they take Albert…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Hard to believe it would be a corner
They generally kinda throw anyone in there at corner and they do well
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Agreed. I think it is OL or LB
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Mayock votes for Rodgers-Cromartie...
I am getting nervous now about my pick, Mayock has been on-the-money so far…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Noisy
A partisan crowd me thinks!
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
W??
Mayo???
Picky - April 26, 2008
I was way wrong...
Mayo seems like a reach at #10, but the Pats know what they are doing.
They probably tried to trade down further, but there were no takers and they just took the guy they wanted…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
NFLN coverage
I am surprised NFLN doesn’t have the nice sidebar stats like ESPN. On HD, they are only filling 80% of my screen.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
NFLN's commentary is much better...
But ESPN’s stats and etc. is better…
Which is why I am flipping back and forth.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I'm doing the same
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Think we'll trade up to beat the Broncs to our choice of OT?
camucr - April 26, 2008
Just thinking the same
only 1 OT so far…knocking on wood..no whammies
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Yeah, DT
We gotta get through that Denver/Carolina/Chicago/Detroit…..all eligible to take a tackle
Detroit probably leans toward Mendenhall if he’s around.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
What does everyone think about the 10-minute picks?
I like it SOOOOO much better, we are already at pick #11 80 minutes in, as opposed to at pick #6 or 7.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Not a big surprise there...
You had to figure that Buffalo would go CB at 11, either Leodis or Rodgers-Cromartie.
Now here is where it gets interesting…
I really want Chris Williams, but would take Clady and Otah as well, I guess…
It sure looks like we will get one of those three, with only five picks until we pick again…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
The music for each team has been funny.
How about the Miami Vice theme for Miami at #1. Classic.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
and John Denver for the Donks
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Good, the Donks took Clady...
He has the highest bust potential of the tackles, IMO, after Albert.
Hopefully the Panthers opt for someone besides a tackle, so then Williams will slide to us…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
completely agree
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
"Dorsey crushes Cutler! Ohhh, what a play!"
I’m so damn happy right now. Chiefs Gods, please extend our fortune over this draft.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I think Mayock is handing the Commish his own picks
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Seriously...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Wow, how did Mayock know that?
I have heard absolutely nothing about Stewart going to Carolina, how did Mayock call it?
Wow…
Good for us, too.
Hopefully the Bears take Otah, then Detroit take Albert/Mendenhall and we can pick up Chris Williams.
That would be absolutely awesome…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
that would be
AWESOME!
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
I usually have no idea what I'm talking about, but
(and I still don’t know what I’m talking about) what if we take Rodgers-Cromartie at 17 then take 2 OT’s in the second by trading up? I have this sinking feeling we go CB. It is not strong, but it keeps popping into my head
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
i think they keep all their picks and use them. even if we went comartie if he’s there, we should be able to get talib in the start of the 2nd. i think they take williams at 17 though.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
that would prevent us from grabbing...
one of these quarterbacks in the 2nd round. but who knows….no quarterback may be available of any quality.
camucr - April 26, 2008
It wouldn't piss me off...
But my ‘dream’ plan right now is to take Williams at 17 and Talib at 35.
Then continue working on the O-Line in the third round tomorrow morning.
Your idea wouldn’t piss me off, but isn’t desirable IMO…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
i just hope
that these kids get signed in time for training camp so they can get whipped into shape.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
We won't be able to even practice this year if it's the usual Carl tactics.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Where is everybody?
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I'm back...I was trying to relax a little with this huge smile
I was also studying the Tackle picks
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I am
doing some baseball stuff, but still here
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
according to speculation
clark may head up contract talks if carl hits a stalemate…
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
not going to lie, i was playing call of duty 4.. because really, i don’t care who other teams pick at this point. we got dorsey, and that makes me uuber happy.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
FUUUUUC…dge.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Williams is gone
:(
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
so much for williams
camucr - April 26, 2008
Damn, at this point it would be hard to pass up Mendenhall
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
rodgers Cromartie?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
crap...
That sucks.
Now, I don’t know who to take.
I’m not high on Otah, not high on Albert (although I would be much more willing to gamble on him becoming a LT at 17 as opposed to 5) and I think 17 is too high to spend on a corner.
I vote for moving down in the draft…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
McShay
As Otah really high on his board (If I remember correctly it was like 13th)
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Why not keep Albert at Guard?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I'd take a potential 10 year OG at #17
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Me too...
I don’t mind taking a G at 17 (or 15 now) and trying to convert him to LT, because if he doesn’t work out it isn’t all that bad.
But at #5, that would be crazy high…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
TRADE WITH KC
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Wondering what we gave up
eek
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
chiefs traded up!!!
camucr - April 26, 2008
HOLY SHIT!
can’t believe we traded up! what did we give? omg.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
???
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Trade
this is gonna be interesting…
stram#1 - April 26, 2008
KC traded up
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
albert is ours.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
I want Albert
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
my money's on albert
camucr - April 26, 2008
We shouldn't of had to give up too much to just move up 2 slots...
Like what, a 5th or 6th round pick?
And now, I actually want Albert. Again, a much safer gamble now than earlier on…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
yea, that's a 150 point move
i think… so a 5th round most likely.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
YESS!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
There is only a 100 point difference in 15 and 17
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Albert
solid pick. you can put him at LT and move McIntosh back to guard and the line is looking better already
stram#1 - April 26, 2008
According to ESPN
WE STILL HAVE THE #17TH PICK!
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
NFL net says we traded #1's
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
ESPN
this is the network that hired Keyshawn. Remember that. So The Lions have 17
Picky - April 26, 2008
I think we gave up too much for Albert. Three picks?
Picky - April 26, 2008
Stupid ESPN
got my hopes up
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Now they just said we gained a #3
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
WHAT!?!?!?
It is just a minor thing, because I am loving the two picks we have made so far, but NFLN said we gave up a 3 AND a 5.
YUCK!
We should have only had to give up a 5, not a 3 + a 5.
That sucks.
Oh, NFLN just said that we got a 3rd back too.
So that makes it much better…
So, basically, we just moved back a little in the 3rd round and gave up a 5th, which is equal to 100 points.
So, fair deal..
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
we swapped 1s 3s and gave then a 5
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
3rd back
Ok. I feel a little better now.
Picky - April 26, 2008
Ok
Swapped 1st rounders and 3rd rounders and gave up a 5
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Trade
IIRC, the Chiefs got the 15th pick. The Lions got the 17th pick, a 3rd rounder and a 5th. That’s too much.
Picky - April 26, 2008
not a bad trade at all
1srt, 3rd, and 5th, for a 1st and 3rd
camucr - April 26, 2008
I dont kow what you guys think
But I am impressed with Marshall Faulks intelligence and preparation
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I am Herm's bitch now. I haven't been this happy in years!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I will still reserve the right to make fun of Hermisms
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
+1 on both...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Faulk
makes Keyshawn look like the guy from Crank Yankers: “I got Mail! Yaaaay!”
Picky - April 26, 2008
So we still have 3 #3's?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
yes...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
We need Cason or Flowers in the 2nd
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I am partial to Talib as a KU Jayahwk...
But I would be happy with any of the three…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I don't think Talib will be there. GB takes him.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Needs
So we have our line improved now. Can we please look at Brian Brohm now?
Picky - April 26, 2008
I'm up for that too. But, I would rather see
a trade up with a 3rd and another pick to grab Cason/Flowers and then use our true 2nd on Sam Baker
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
That would be awesome...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
http://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker#tab:dt-by-team|team-kc
seems to stay pretty well updated as to what happens to our picks
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
should have used preview

sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Thanks, eccles.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I can't believe Mendenhall has lasted this long
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Damn. That's a surprise.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Cherilus to the Lions, I mean.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
400 comments and counting
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Goodell
Couldn’t pronounce the name LOL
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
I have to say...
I’m extremely pleased with how this is turning out. I was praying over a glass of root beer that the Chiefs wouldn’t bone the Glenn Dorsey selection and now with Brandon Albert, we’ve got two players that Mike Mayock ranked in the top 10. Could this have gone much better for the Chiefs so far?
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
No.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Damn, Flacco already. Here go the QBs
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Who
Do we go for next?
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
A corner...
We either wait for one of Talib or Jenkins or Flowers at 35, or we try and trade up to the late 20s and pick whoever we like the most.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Or Cason.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I think we blew a fuse at that last NFL.com link...lol
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
LMAO
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
I just looked at the point chart for the third round
and we could trade our two later third round picks to Arizona or Philadelphia for their second round pick, maybe throw a seven in for cream on the top
Would give us #35 and #49 or 50
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Agreed, Lanier, I think we trade up for a CB and take OT with our true 2nd
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I think it goes the opposite way...
We take a CB at 35 and trade up for an OT.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I'm good with either
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
So am I...
Just looking at it value-wise, IMO, we could get one of the top-cluster corners at 35 (Flowers/Talib/Cason/Jenkings) and pick up a lesser OT later on, like Anthony Collins, for example.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Glenn "Freaking" Dorsey and Branden "Sit the F*ck Down" Albert, are you kidding me?
I should just turn off the TV right now. CHIEFS!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Here goes Brohm, just a guess.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
A good one.
I was just gonna ask who Carolina is looking for, but that makes sense.
Either him or Otah…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Otah it is
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
that was a whiff
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
A whiff by me I meant.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I say
I was like WTF?
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
With our picks and what has been talked about here the last two months
I think one of us is actually Herm Edwards….Ok who is it?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
That's what's great about AP, you never know. And that's OK.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
"Well, you know, these things happen.
That’s what makes football great…”
But seriously, it isn’t me…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Would it take too much
To trade up to get another 1st rounder?
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Not really...
We are at 35 right now, so to move up from there to a mid 20s would probably only cost a 3.
I would rather just sit at 35 unless we REALLY want someone, but it is certainly possible we move up.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Ok
Football isn’t my first sport (Baseball is), so I’m not really educated in this aspect
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
I Don't See...
anyone being too keen on trading out of the first round entirely.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Philly just did...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
You just did...
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Haha...
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
If they had 2 1st rounders
An early and late pick they could trade their late pick shrug
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
2 of our 3rd's would do it.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I am seeing 600 or more points
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I am hedging the old draft chart and the "supposed" new draft chart + time constraints.
And I am not a GM, so, my opinion means crap compared to what the Panthers just gave up.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I feel the way you do
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
We could do it with all 3 of our third rounders
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Yea
but I doubt we’d want to give up all 3. Could we do it with 1 3rd?
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Not without a player also IMO
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
ok
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Lookign at it
We may be able to with a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year if they REALLY want somebody
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Looking*
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Wow, Carolina gave up a bunch for #19...
a 2, a 4 and next year’s 1…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
They really
wanted Otah apparently
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Talib
is gone
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Wow, there goes my boy...
Aqib Talib.
Guess we won’t get him at 35…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
With Talib Gone...
What do you believe the Chiefs target as the top corner?
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Flowers, he is hardcore against the run.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
That's what we need
After seeing how our secondary tackled last year
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
flowers or carson
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
+1.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Gruden did that based on what Herm said to the media after the
free agent thing
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
