And with the 34th pick in the NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:
Virginia Tech CB Brandon Flowers
This is a solid pick up in a major position of need. Kudos to the Chiefs' draft team. So far, they're doing a fantastic job. I'd imagine the Chiefs are feeing good about some later round linemen, which is why they would skip over that position in the second round.
We're approaching the second round folks. The Chiefs have had an ideal draft so far in many fans' eyes -- LSU DT Glenn Dorsey with the #5 pick and Virginia OG Brandon Albert at #15 via a trade with the Detroit Lions.
I opened this thread up because the first draft thread was freezing up on me. Let me know if this happens to you at all -- chiefssportsblognation@gmail.com.

Good call, I just tried to scroll up, and was amazed
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
BTW-Awesome job with the new site, Chris.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
The credit
goes to our guy Trei and his web team. But thanks.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Didn't have any trouble.
Though I’m glad SB Nation finally got around to updating the football blogs to the new format.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Yep
It was a long process. I think it came out pretty damn well.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Definitely.
I’ve been on multiple baseball blogs up to this point, just waiting for AP’s turn to come around. It’s a much more convenient format.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Just got back in
Battery issue in the parking lot of a 7 eleven. I’m almost freaked out.
Glad to be on the couch with a beer.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
I love the new auto-refresh...
and the entire SB Nation 2.0.
Am in absolutely frickin’ love with it.
It has made this Draft a little better, although it is tough to get better than getting Dorsey and Albert so far…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Ive heard alot of people talk smack about brandon albert in the time leading up to the draft. I gotta say, so far im excited about our picks! Definately have done what Herm set out to do. Lets see what other picks we can get.
_chiefs_ - April 26, 2008
A lot of that smack
was based on picking Albert at #5. I think we got a great deal.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Exactly.
I was one of Albert’s biggest detractors, because I had no interest in spending the #5 overall pick (or even something like #10 after trading back) in a guard, who might be a tackle.
At 15, and having already picked up Dorsey, it is great value and I love the pick.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Is It Just Me...
or could Mike Mayock single handedly take over this NFL Network draft program and it be all the better for it?
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
It's almost like he has too much inside info
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
It's amazing...
how one man can have so much insight.
Mike Mayock >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kiper Jr.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
+1.
It really isn’t close at all…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
atlanta trades up
camucr - April 26, 2008
NOOOOOO!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
We needed Baker in the 2nd
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
That hurts bad
I really wanted him
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
I mean, that's a huge hit
If he came out last year he would have been the 2nd tackle taken behind Joe Thomas.
He is a player. We missed out there.
That sucks.
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Is this seriously that bad?
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
IMO, he's an elite tackle
but, I don’t really do this full time so who knows…
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
No the Chiefs deal or wait for Collins
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Meant "Now"
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
What about WR?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
wait
until the 5th round for D-Bowe’s twin.
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
well
they have three thirds… i think they might take a WR there. jordy nelson or early doucet if they are there still.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
What about Mendenhall?
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
IF
chiefs take carson, trade back up for collins, i could get back to playing call of duty and be super freaking happy about what has happened in the the first day.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
unfortunately, the cowboys are going CB as well.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
or RB
With Felix Jones
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
CALLED IT!
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
dallas
has another pick though… where they go CB>
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
No WRs taken yet, they need them
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
looks like he is on the phone and out of the picture
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
hmm I appear to have replied to the wrong thread
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
There is some serious value falling right now.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Yessir.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
That was a tremendous reach for Baker...
So while I wanted him at 35, I’m over it.
Right now, I want to sit at 35 and hope one of the ‘good’ corners fall to us. Jenkins, Cason or Flowers.
Mendenhall is gone right now to Dallas, I bet.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I still think it is Jones
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
probably...
Mendenhall is the better RB, IMO, but Felix Jones matches up better compared to Mario Barber…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Is Mendenhall's...
one year of numbers what’s hurting him right now?
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
If he is there in the 2nd, we need to look at him.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
+1.
It would be kind of repetitive with LJ, but it would be absolutely tremendous value.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
exactly
like i said, if we can get carson, then trade back up in the second for collins for a third and a third round swap… i would be pleased.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Extremely entertaining, fast, and satisfying 1st round.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
+1.
Absolutely love the new format…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Goodell rocks.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Did Goodell make the decision to streamline
or did the owners have to approve it?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Mendenhall
goes to the Steelers. Hes a power RB, the kind they love and works well in their set.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
Good call.
Although they do have Willie Parker…
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Detroit tried to trade back into the first round and grabbed Mendenhall…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I am seriously loving the NFLN commentary...
Deion is crazy like Keyshawn, but good crazy IMO.
Mayock is worlds better than Kiper Jr, and right almost every time, and I like Marshall Faulk.
I was planning on switching back and forth, but I have stuck mostly with just NFLN. They are just so much better.
Plus, Eisen >>>>> Berman.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
+1 on Eisen over Boomer
It all depends on if you want insight or catchphrases. NFLN offers the former, ESPN the latter.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
wish we got NFLN on timewarner.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
there is a live stream on nfl.com
sir eccles - April 26, 2008
Completely agree
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Brohm/Henne
If they fall to the 2nd, should we take them to compete with Croyle?
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
Eh.
I would rather take a corner, but if Cason/Flowers/Jenkins are all gone at that point, I wouldn’t be opposed to Brohm.
Not a big fan of Henne..
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
doubt it. there is need elsewhere… i figure they’ll take woodsen if he’s there in the fourth
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
I'm of the side that thinks...
Croyle doesn’t need pushing yet. He and Bowe really hooked up when they were on the field together. Croyle’s got a gun on him, just a little erratic. I’d like to stick it out with him, and more so address our CB need before turning to any QB selections.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
I say we trade and take 2 corners early in the second since Baker is gone
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
nah
i like collins in the second.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
Whitlock says we will take Jeff George out of retirement
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
ESPN
Hadn’t shown the Steelers pick and NFLN had
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
11 more picks till we hit again
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
And
11 more picks for the Chiefs!
Go Herm!
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Thought we lost one with the trade?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
No, We swapped 3rd's
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
We lost
a 5th rounder
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
You are right. But a 5th was worth it.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
lost a 5th pick though.
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
However,
We get the last pick in the draft, 7th round pick #32 :D
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
Yea, that is correct.
Only 10 picks left…
We traded three picks (1/3/5) for two (1/3).
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Easily the best draft I've ever seen...
Last year, I watched more ESPN than NFLN. This year, NFLN instead of ESPN. Positive development…
Love the new 10-minute per pick rule. Makes things so much more exciting, and there doesn’t seem to be as much ‘dead time’ as before. Usually, by the time they are done discussing the previous pick, and spend a couple of minutes on who the upcoming team might pick, the clock is out and the pick is up. Great stuff…
Lastly, the Chiefs have had an awesome draft so far…
I’m loving it right now…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Me too
I kept thinking, “Was I just not that into the draft last year?”
The new format, the Chiefs great draft so far, and frankly this auto refresh are going to make my month.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
QUARTERBACK, QUARTERBACK
Great first round. They probably got the best player in the draft, plus one that was in their top five (or maybe top 2 or 3). Dorsey was a no brainer dumb luck pick. Kudos to Carl on getting Albert. He probably can’t afford to screw up on getting them signed in view of the Chiefs’ dire situation and their cap room.
NOW DRAFT THE BEST AVAILABLE QUARTERBACK IN ROUND TWO!!
Kansas City Oracle - April 26, 2008
Brohm?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
gotta be
henne is over-rated. i don’t like a QB in the 2nd though with so much left to fill. especially at o-line
IISaiNtII - April 26, 2008
And Brohm was an early first coming into this season.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I like Brohm a lot more than Henne...
Although I would prefer a corner over both…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Me too.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Don't Like Henne At All
Don’t know why everyone’s so high on him, other than he played at Michigan. He never really impressed me with his performance and he had a lot of weapons to work with. I’d much rather have Brohm.
UCrawford - April 26, 2008
I think the Chiefs like Brohm
If available, with an owner who wants a franchise quarterback, I don’t see how they could resist.
Kansas City Oracle - April 26, 2008
Chris Johnson -WOW
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
erik ainge
i dont really like henne or brohm alot. erik ainge was a leader at tennessee and played all 4 years. plus, hes a big quarterback who can actually see over the O-line, not like Croyle, the little twerp.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
I am an Ainge fan also in the mid rounds
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
any young
qb with little nfl experience would look weak behind last years’ o-line, so lets stop clamoring for a qb right now, ok?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Yep.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
I saw Ainge
play a few games in Knoxville at UT his freshman year and I said from the first time I saw him that I thought he could be a successful NFL QB.
I like him.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
i do prefer ainge
to the other qbs because we wouldnt have to use a 2nd round pick on him
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Maybe in a little while...
I hate the short-tall argument on QBs, it is about 13th on the list for me on who is better. Who cares.
I haven’t looked that far down, but I would wait until the 4th or 5th round before we take someone like Ainge.
I’m not against it, just not for awhile now.
And frankly, I would rather take Woodsen…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
short tall
does matter for QBs. look at the best QBs in the NFL: Manning, Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger, all are huge. The big QB wins, while the little one gets dominated by big D-lineman.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
with the 35th pick in the nfl draft
the kansas city chiefs select. manute bol!
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
I'd Be Okay With Ainge In The 3rd or 4th
Not in the 2nd, though…I think if Brohm’s available in the 2nd we need to consider him. Collins would be a good pick too, I think, but a bit of a reach that high. But we do need o-linemen and I think Collins can make it.
I agree with everyone on this thread who said Mayock’s better than Kiper, by the way…I tried tuning into ESPN’s coverage for a bit and thought they were terrible in comparison to the NFLN.
UCrawford - April 26, 2008
Welcome UC
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
WOW!
Who had Chris Johnson in the first round?
He is crazy fast, sure, and VY needs some options, but still.
Wow.
Devin Thomas is still out there.
What about WR? If Desean Jackson is available at 35, do we take him as the speedster to match up with Bowe? Or do we take Devin Thomas if he is still there? Limas Sweed, who I am REALLY high on?
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
I'm not sure about that either
The Titans chose him for a reason and I’m racking my brain to figure it out and I can’t.
I guess LenDale White isn’t working out?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
It's gotta be speed.
That is his only thing that he is amazing at.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
agreed
he can fly
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
of course
we take desean jackson if he is there. im actually liking a WR at 35 more and more now. especially because there are so many quality ones still on the board right now. if they aren’t there, where do we look, O-line again? maybe a tackle?
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
anybody hear
what espn just said about first round receivers? not having impact in their first years? i liked our guy…
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
I think D-Bowe was pretty damn awesome.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Here Here
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Thank the dear lord
for D Bowe.
Last year would have been that much more terrible without him.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
early doucet
was just mentioined as a potential steal. when do you think he will go? if we could get him later, he might work well in our scheme. as mentioned before, he and bowe both are out of LSU, so maybe coming to our scheme from LSU is easier?
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
what about
linebackers. are we looking to get anyone to pair with derrick johnson in the first day? or are we still focusing on the O-line?
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
RIght now, here are the positions I want in order:
1) Corner
2) O-Line
3) WR
4) QB
Jenkins/Cason/Flowers is still my favorite option at #35, with someone like Desean Jackson or someone my next option.
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Agreed.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Check
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
why do we
have to take a corner? we are so weak at so many spots, shouldn’t we take the best player available when we’re up, as long as it isn’t somewhere where we are already set? it doesn’t make sense to reach for a corner or O-lineman if someone like jackson or the MSU receiver(forgot his name) are there.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
No surprise...
There goes Jenkins.
My money is that we get Flowers at 35…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Look at the Falcons,
They traded Hall and need CBs. And 2 (now) of the first picks in the 2nd. This is the most treacherous of situations in this draft since the Falcons have the same needs.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
there goes
another tackle, duane brown
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
we
should have taken otah instead of albert. he’s going to be a star.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
its a bit early
for an otah vs. albert debate. otah is a project, we want rookies who can play right away
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
why do
they have to play right away? we aren’t going to seriously compete for several years, so Otah is what we should be looking for when we are rebuilding. We need players with huge upside, ti doesn’t matter that they won’t be ready for a year or two.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
albert
arguably also has upside. right?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
If we want Flowers, we have to trade up.
He is not making it past GB.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
very good point
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Are all of these rookies going to play?
Or for that matter, make the roster? For all the commotion we’re making about having 12 picks, alot of them are late. Our last pick, the perverbial Mr. Insignificant, will surely be on the practice squad. But are we going to have a million rookies on our squad like the Titans did a few years ago? I guess what I’m saying is, how many of these guys do you guys think are really going to help the Chiefs.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
well
to answer that, a vast majority. thats the whole idea of this draft for us. have you been paying much attention in the last few months?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
All Of The Rookies Will Probably Play
We’re that devoid of talent with the veterans.
UCrawford - April 26, 2008
I just cant see a trade happening since Seattle and 49rs
haven’t picked anyone yet.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Kentwaan Balmer DE he's still there. Do you want him?
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
or merling for that matter
but yeah if either of those are there, i’d be down. we’d have a scary d-line, we already do. wow it feels good to say that just days after allen left
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
I was just going to write that.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
well
there goes that plan
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Merling is still there, but GB will go CB (I think).
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
i want
a receiver or henne/brohm at 35. theres a good chance at least one of henne, brohm or jackson will still be there.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
Cant just focus
on the defensive side of the ball. Its our offense that hasnt been productive.
_chiefs_ - April 26, 2008
Outside of DeSean Jackson, it is questionable value here.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
the way we play football now
requires a fantastic defense. and we’re building that. and i’m not complaining
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
yep
i’m thinking protection and maybe another weapon (like a fast wideout) but that’s not as neccesary as defense when you’re playing hermball.
Walter Camp - April 26, 2008
young qbs without protection
i want henne and brohm to supplement croyle. maybe we can also pick up carr too and have four young rattled qbs. competition is healthy.
Walter Camp - April 26, 2008
haha
love it. why not throw in harrington? is he still avaliable. what about marinovich? can we bring him out of retirement?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
if young qb's
without protection can’t develop, then why does everyone seem to think that a small, oft-injured player like brodie croyle still has a chance of developing? realistically, we need a qb who can step in once our O-line is developed.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
youre right
if we’re going to draft a qb, lets not do it this year, but next year or the year after, when our o-line is developed. then we could have a young qb ready to succeed.
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
its worth
a shot.
_chiefs_ - April 26, 2008
The Jets trade?!!!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
TE?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Sounds like it
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
good call
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
We still may be able to get Flowers
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Damn your fast fingers, Lanier
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I think ATL goes Flowers to compensate for Hall
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
didnt atlanta make a trade?
did they get rid of their second rounder? thatd be sweet
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Only 2 2nd's now
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
or espn
is just being lame, which is not out of character as far as today goes
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
I just looked at Draft Tracker on CBS Sportsline, I may be completely wrong.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
i think
atl is picking 6th in the second round, which puts us ahead
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
With GB out of the way, we may get Flowers
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Giants take Flowers
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Glad I was wrong
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Me too. We still have hope.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
S Kenny Phillips
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
No WR taken in first round, first time that has ever happened
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
ATL may go WR for value, and we may get Flowers.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
if washington
doesnt take merling, do we take him?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
I don't know how we pass him up.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
that was
short lived
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Atlanta does not have another pick before us
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
They have the pick before us from the trade of Hall to the Raiders
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I believe Wash got that one
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Maybe, I'm trying to keep up with all the trades on the major sites.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I took someones advice earlier and am watching on NFL.com
it posts the trades and who has them
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
You were right, Lanier
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Merling gone
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
hope brian brohm
wasnt on the phone with us
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
im kinda
hoping hes there for us at 35
_chiefs_ - April 26, 2008
i will
openly sob if we waste the pick in the fashion
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
brohm
would be nice. however, now im kind of leaning towards getting a WR and i like getting ainge or woodsen later, and if we dont get them, then just let croyle get raped this year and get a QB next year.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
I don't think we can afford to not take a CB.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
does any site have the best still available left list?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
on espn draft tracker
you can view by top rated by position still available
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
stl
just took donnie avery
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
Donnie Avery?
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
who wouldve though
he wouldve been the first WR to go?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Not me.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
FLOWERS!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
S'do this thing.

The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Well Flowers is there
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
if we take brohm
with this pick im going to throw up
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
What an awful time for a commercial break.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008

alright!
Walter Camp - April 26, 2008
let me be the first to say
wow, what a great day one
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
I LOVE THIS DRAFT!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Did they draft him? NFLN at comm break.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
espn just
called us a star of this draft. mel gave us an A+
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
chyeah
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
Absolutely!
No other team has had as good of a day as the Red and Gold
_chiefs_ - April 26, 2008
Dude- This is the greatest day ever.
camucr - April 26, 2008
Even if they are all busts, this is the best we could have done.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Yeah.
If none of this works out in 5 years, there aren’t too many teams who wouldn’t have made the exact same decisions in the Chiefs position.
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
WE ROCK!
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Mayock:
“Right now, I’m loving Kansas City.”
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
That has to be the biggest compliment of the entire draft
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I just proposed to Herm.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Tom Bahali, you are vindicated!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Its JasonM now
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
HIm too. It still hurts we didn't get him.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
gb just picked jordy nelson
there goes everyone’s homer dream
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Wow
Jordy hurts….I liked him
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Rats
Nelson is going to be a star
ChiefDJ - April 26, 2008
I secretly
really wanted Jordy Nelson. But I’m fine with it.
Wanted him in the non-sexual sense of course.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Is it wrong...
if some of us wanted him in both senses?
mynameistyler - April 26, 2008
Ok
So now with the first day behind us, What does everyone want with the big 3 in the 3rd?
_chiefs_ - April 26, 2008
We could and need to trade back into the 2nd. We are not done yet.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Too much value still on the board.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Dont be so sure we arn't done just yet
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
herm on espn
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
He says we are still open for business!
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Too Bad About Nelson
But I’d love it if Anthony Collins or Chilo Rachal fell to us…or if we traded into the second to get one of them.
The Chiefs are doing a great job so far.
UCrawford - April 26, 2008
we should
trade up to get desean jackson. he’d be a great return man, the next DHall, plus it’d give us a great receiving corps for erik ainge to throw too :)
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
how about
making dennis dixon mr. irrelevant this year?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
i know
you’re kidding, but someone will actually take him
http://www.dennisdixon10.com/
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
i actually
wasnt kidding. i’d be definitely down with taking him in the 7th if he’s still up there
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
he won't be
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
+1.
I want him in the seventh…
rockchalk - April 26, 2008
Honestly,
THIS IS THE BEST DRAFT I HAVE EVER SEEN. Especially in the most important draft for us.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
This, is how you try to build a dynasty
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
I just can't say enough about this draft so far.
Laugh at us now, we will kill your AFC West in 2 years. As long as we sign them, and not piss these great players off.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
anybody else feel like partying?
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
Yes
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
We could trade two later thirds and a late 5th to Detroit
for their second at #45
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Let's trade up and grab Rachal!
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
gone
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
You've been around for a while
But welcome!
You think that Roy Schueneing (totally misspelled it) will be around?
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
YEA!
rockiesfan4ever - April 26, 2008
lets just wait for the third
and maybe use our fifth to trade up and get someone if we like someone there.
ArrowheadRed5658 - April 26, 2008
With the first day over
I’m feeling very content. The last three and half hours were so angst filled that I’m finally coming down.
Fantastic first day by the Kansas City Chiefs. We’ll do it all again tomorrow as well.
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
Great day
Not a huge Flowers fan, but he fits the cover 2 very well
Joel Thorman - April 26, 2008
Fantastic draft, so far.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
So far
we have drafted 2 ACC and 1 SEC players
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Chris' man Tyrell Johnson gone
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Brohm still on the board
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
I dont know about you guys
but with the way things have gone down these last two years, it would be a nice decent thing to do to let the Chiefs mgmt know we appreciate what they have done with the Draft picks. Just my opinion.
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
You know what sucks about this
In 3 years if the Chiefs are an awesome team and the players drafted this year are the core of that team, Carl Peterson will claim all credit for it.
ChiefDJ - April 26, 2008
And not re-sign them to fair market value.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Im ok with that
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
Im not ok with the not resigining
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
DeSean Jackson
Has he been picked yet?
ChiefDJ - April 26, 2008
no
Lanier63 - April 26, 2008
No. We should trade up. WR and KR
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
So much for Laws
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Who needs Laws
We have Glenn FREAKING Dorsey!
ChiefDJ - April 26, 2008
hellllll yeah,
1 dt in the draftThe DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
*number one
The DBowe Show - April 26, 2008
True, but I also wanted Laws in the 3rd. I am GREEDY.
DThomasReigns - April 26, 2008
Third draft thread posted
Head on over there.
Great day to be a Chiefs fan, huh?
Chris Thorman - April 26, 2008
