Eddie who?
Chiefs signed KR/PR B.J. Sams, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year contract.
Just hopefully he can do better than Eddie Drummond. Sams doesn't have a position on offense or defense, but was a potent returner as recently as '05. He tore his ACL last September, however, so it's possible he's lost a step.
Color me excited after last year. Sams, however many steps he's lost, is an upgrade over Eddie Drummond. Sams is only 27 years old and has shown flashes of being a potent return man. Yes, more flashes than Drummond showed us (Note: That's actually pretty arguable and I'll leave it at that).
Check out Sams career stats here. Compare those with Eddie Drummond's stats here.
Holy shit another signing!

And Sams was dangerous every time he touched the ball. But, he has had 2 serious injuries in the past 2 seasons. If he is healed, he is Dante Hall without the wasted juking (that's a good thing).
If he isn't the same, he is still Dante Hall compared to Eddie Drummond. Win-Win!

this may end up
knocking McKelvin off our top 5 board (if he was there in the first place). Hopefully, the idea of drafting McFadden to return kicks is out too.dkugler838 - April 10, 2008
He wasn't
no way were we going to spend the #5 pick on a corner who will play Cover 2.PVChiefsfan - April 10, 2008
Oh I know that -
just pointing out the obvious I guess. I think it's always good to eliminate all other possibilities. Who knew Ted Ginn would go at #9?dkugler838 - April 10, 2008
