S Dowayne Davis
DE Jason Parker
WR Marques Hagans
G Edwin Harrison
DT Derek Lokey
WR Kevin McMahan
LB Aden Durde
Dowayne Davis, an undrafted free agent who signed with Dallas and was just cut, and wide receiver Marques Hagans are new to the team.
Since Durde doesn't count towards the eight player limit, the Kansas City Chiefs still need to add two more players. That may happen in the coming minutes as they update their web site roster.
NFL.com reported that the Chiefs also tried to claim center Andy Alleman but he was awarded to the Miami Dolphins.
A bit more about Dowayne Davis and Marques Hagans is after the jump.
**UPDATE** Adam Teicher at the Red Zone speculates that the last two spots on the practice squad could go to WR Scott Mayle and LB Weston Dacus.

Above are some clips of Dowayne Davis and here is a bit of info on WR Marques Hagans, who was a Rams 5th round pick in 2006.

Hmm...
I’m surprised that Weston Dacus isn’t on the squad.

Maybe he didn't clear waivers?
Chris Thorman - September 1, 2008
True
That kinda stinks… I think he should have been on in the 53.

Clearing waivers?
How does the process of clearing waivers work? I know that the team who picks up a waived player assumes the contract terms of the originating team who signed them. But do these released players go through a bypass system of teams similiar to an order of draft selection?

There is a ranking
based on win/loss ratio of the previous season. Hence, that is why Miami got that center before we did.
Chris Thorman - September 1, 2008
It's based on the 2007 record
Up until the third week of the season. Thus, until week three, the Dolphins will have the first shot, then the Rams, Falcons, Raiders, Chiefs, etc.
However, at week three it switches to current records of that season. So by week 4 of this season, the waiver wire will be determined by each team’s current record.

How long?
Typically how long is a player exposed before he would be considered cleared from waivers?
aPacificChief - September 2, 2008
I think
it is 24 hours.

As far as I know, any team can claim any player that is cut by another team. However, if more than one team claims the same player off of waivers, the team with the lesser record from the year before is awarded that player (which is why the Dolphins got Alleman over us).

Nvm...
Chris beat me to it lol

WILSON!!!
Kris wilson has signed with San diego not that any of us care but they have lsot a couple of TE and were short so he could see some time as a number two TE or H-back

Guess the Phillie
Fans found out he was not so versatile! Lookout for the wheel route Gun!

I am intrigued by both Davis and Hagans
the video looked like Davis could play some special teams – a 200 lb guy that runs a 4.4 40-yd dash is no slouch, and getting a former 5th rounder on waivers doesn’t suck.

Hagans
Could Hagans play some sort of slash role? If I am not mistaken he played some QB in college. Just a thought.

UCrawford's gonna be pissed
I don’t see Octavien on that list.
Ochophosphate - September 2, 2008
I'm Disappointed
But then again I’ve gotten used to it over the last few years with Peterson as our GM :)
