Draft News

  • The Chiefs perfect draft, via FanHouse.
  • Interesting quote about Darrius Heyward-Bey- "If Darrius had played at Texas Tech, he'd be one of the top three picks taken."
  • NFC personnel guy- "Curry and Crabtree are the only players in that group with back-to-back [seasons] of what you would call consistent dominance."
  • The SB Nation Mock Draft is moving along nicely. Check out the picks here. By the way, you do realize that after about a half hour the Chiefs will be done drafting on the first day? I bet we still have a ton of traffic that day.
  • Make sure you check out the prospects we've been tracking.

You checkin' him out?

On an unrelated topic, I thought the DHB quote was from himself, about himself. I was thinking, “Man, what a douche canoe. Who talks in the 3rd person like that?”

My crystal ball says Jay Cutler cries himself to sleep every night.

Yeah

Who wouldn’t check Tony out?

You think it's coincidence that I bleed red?

I think it's a matter of time

I’m really surprised Pioli didn’t go for the 55th pick. I anticipate he’ll do a counter-offer and now that he has leverage negotiating/getting a 55th pick, maybe he can get a vet along with the pick.

I think he’ll see who else can come in to negotiate.

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

PLEASE LIST CT AFTER TIMES!!!

OK, I live in Philly and I constantly forget that the Chiefs are in a CT area. Could you please list (CT) in parenthesis so I can remember? I’ve now been fooled by the chiefs website (I thought the draft was starting at 3pm ET, but it’s 4pm…) and this site had the list coming out at 6 pm (again I got excited because I thought I’d get to see the start of the Braves game at 7 pm ET), but schedule actually comes out at 7pm ET. I know I should remember this, but it’d really help if you could keep that (CT) after times.

Oh, and I never want to see Tony G. leave the Chiefs.

I think we usually do post CST after the time

At least I try to remember to do that because I know plenty of people are outside that range.

Awesome

It’s great how being the “This team went 13-3, so they should at least have one defensive player in the Pro Bowl” guy for one season makes you an “Ex-Pro Bowler” for the rest of your life. We seriously shouldn’t have had any d-players in the pro bowl during Vermeil’s tenure.

That having been said, I always loved Romey. I just kept waiting and waiting for him and G-Wes to become the most dominant safety tandem in the league, but it never happened. Oh well.
