Chiefs Avoid Tebow Time And Beat Broncos, 7-3

Like the 2009 season the Kansas City Chiefs have ended the season on a high note by beating the Denver Broncos and potentially knocking them out of the playoffs. KC completed the game, 7-3. Low scoring, ugly, defensive, whatever you want to call it. They got it done.

The game ended on a Brandon Carr interception. Carr is scheduled to be a free agent this year and most fans want him back so it was a fitting end to the season.

The Chiefs had two sacks on the day and played good defense, only giving up three points. The Broncos did as expected offensively and ran. A lot. Tim Tebow only completed five passes. Willie McGahee had 147 yards but needed 28 carries to do it. The Chiefs offense seemed to be decent moving the ball at times but they were too often ineffective. Only scoring seven points in an NFL game won't win very often.

Kyle Orton finished the game 15-of-29 for 180 yards and played average at best. Dwayne Bowe had a big first half before leaving with a neck injury. (No updates on him.) Dexter McCluster and Thomas Jones combined for 27 carries.

That's it -- 7-9 for the year. Funny to think about but that was my preseason prediction considering the hard schedule. Things didn't go as expected this year (not even close) but the end result sounds about right, surprisingly.

So the playoff scenarios in the AFC West are now easy. If the Oakland Raiders win this afternoon, they're in. If they don't, Denver's in.

Never thought I would say this...but go Raiders!

I don’t want Tebow in the playoffs.

Raiders just lost...

Get ready for Tippy Toes Tebow and the Denver Donkeys to go 1 and out in the playoffs. Can’t think of a worse team to make the playoffs than this one.

Seattle last year went in at 7-9, but beat the Saints.. Then were thumped.
Yawn.

That was the worst victory I’ve ever seen.

Offensively, I agree. Defensively, I disagree.
As much as I hate thw Raiders...

Today’s win is more satisfying if it knocks the Broncos out of the playoffs . Though watching them get manhandled would be nice too.

you just saw it

Defensively anyway

Let's go Chargers

I would rather have the team we beat to end the season in the playoffs than the team that knocked us out of it.

I'd rather Denver get in than Oaktown

Good job Chiefs! Now let’s all forget this season and focus on the next! :D

i want OAK to give up another 1st rounder for Palmer!
Can't wait to hear Skip Bayless's excuses tomorrow
All he does is win.

Except when he loses three in a row to close the season. Oh, and gets humiliated in the playoffs.

And 1 win against a team w a winning record

GAME OVER!!!!! Great way to end this shit season!

THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^!!!
So like everyone else...

All he does is win except when he loses?

Got it.

There should only be about 10 topics

on ESPN’s First Tebow tomorrow.

7-9

was actually my prediction to and I think we could have pulled off at least 1 more win with Charles and Berry in there and probably have repeated our playoff performance last season.

Wow, Ford really screwed the pooch...

Looked like he wasn’t even looking for it.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuugly
AFC champs

It is going to be embarrassing to see the Broncos represent the AFC in the playoffs. Tebow is not a QB (a half dozen completions for 60 yds) and everyone knows how to beat him now.

If only we had beaten the Raiders last week!

Hard to believe

One blocked field goal (of two) knocked us out of playoffs.

Hard to believe

you forgot Orton’s int in the Raiders endzone.

Hard to believe you forgot Bowe's drop the play before Orton's INT.
thank you sir

glad to see im not alone

AFC champs

If only we hadn’t of had Palko for 4 games. The Chiefs would have been contenders. SIde note, do not resign Orton next year.

I hope they're listening to you....

But this always seems like the things we screw up on!

Disagree..

SIde note, do not resign Orton next year.

With Oakland most likely losing..

It makes me hate them even more. They knock us out of the playoffs and watch us give the division right too them by beating the Broncos and they piss it away. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that if we just make one more FG, we are in the playoffs…

I'd rather see the Broncos in the playoffs.

I know the Broncos will lose their first playoff game against PITT. Oakland, although they probably would’ve lost, still have a real QB. They would have a better chance to win, and I’d rather not see an AFC West team win a playoff game unless its us.

Just as I expected going into this week

The Broncos would lose but back into the playoffs with an Oakland loss.

This season should be considered some kind of very weird success

Brutal schedule, losing 4 of our best 7 players, losing starting QB and HC, and we somehow finish 7-9 and beat the only unbeaten team? I’ll take it I guess.

Next season though, my expectations are extremely high, schedule will be better, injuries should be healed, and Houston/Bailey/Bawldin should be ready to dominate.

That 15-1 looking pretty good right now
Yeah yeah, of course.

I’m just looking for small positives on our side ;-)

What are the "easy" games next year?
Do we play the Packers again?
It wasn't that brutal of a schedule.

Not near as bad is it looked like it was going to be.

Seriously, think about 2012

Romeo as head coach
Orton as starting QB
Out of top ten in draft
Players returning from injury probably not as explosive in their first year back
Muir as the OC

Not too excited, honestly

The advantage

we get a fourth place in the division schedule.

Meaning we play Indy again
Probably with manning back
He could very well be a shell of his former self
And he most likely will be.

He’s old and nobody just bounces back from neck surgery, no matter how old they are or how long they have to recuperate.

Not sure how to feel about that
Ah pessimistic offseason Delaney is back

Why is Muir still the OC?

Not pessimistic

Just not super excited for 2012.

Muir is still the OC now. He could very well be next season. I’m not banking on him being gone until he is

Why Not?

I mean he's done such a great job this year, we'd love to keep his services I'm sure

Nah, I expect Zorn to be promoted if anything.

Why would any offensive coach on this team currently make you feel good about their promotions?

And Zorn? Seriously? The same Zorn that had Cassel regressed to sub-Blaine Gabbert status? Why in the world would that be a good thing for him to be promoted to OC???

It doesn't make me feel good, but that's probably what will happen with a Crennel hiring

He named Zorn as one of the guys who gameplanned for the Packers win. He doesn’t call the play though, Muir does and Muir has shown to be shitty.

As for Cassel regression, I chalk that up to line play and a lack of JC, plus Cassel lacks talent and has always been a back-up masquerading as a starter. He had a “solid” season last year stat-wise, but wasn’t really any good if you actually watched games. He still had issues, compounded by the fact that we had no run game and horrible pass protection you get a bad one out of Cassel.

Again don’t think its the best ever thing in the world, but most likely to happen. Anything would be better then seeing Muir calling plays again anyways.

I'm ok with Romeo

as long as we get a new OC.
Orton is better then Cassel, and Cassel was going to be our starter next year
So we draft 12 vs 8…if there is a player we really want, we’ll trade up 4 spots.
Players are coming back easier then in the past, but even if you are correct…JC and Berry will still be better then TJ and JM/SP/RL

Very true

A 70% Berry/JC are better than any other RB or safety we ran out there this season. But still, I just think too many people are expecting them to come right back in 2012 in top form of 2010. Don’t think its going to happen that way. They may not be able to help improve this team much next season.

The thing they had going for them....

Is that their injuries happened at the beginning of the season. Will they be 100%? No…..but I think they have a good shot at coming out of the gates in pretty good form.

Good point

I’m obviously hoping for the best from them, and the time frame of their recovery before the beginning of the season might make a huge difference for 2012. No doubt we need them back at 100% asap

I think we were

actually a better team talent wise in 2010 then 2011. Houston, Baldwin, Hudson, Bailey are guys we can build on. Our playmakers on both sides of the ball will be a lot better when we fix our OL and DL, which just got blown off the ball all year.

Tebow time is such a fucking joke...

the guy is a terrible quarterback.

He's like Obama

Seems like a cool guy, I’d like drink a beer (or a Shirley Temple) with him, but I don’t want at the steering wheel of my team or country…

Quarterbacks run the country?

And Obama is a hell of a lot better than that war monger Bush.

And just as much of a war monger

Tripled the number of troops in that wasteland Afghanistan, kept US troop in Iraq for the duration of the original bush plan, only to replace them with private contractors a la Blackwater, launches routine drones strikes in Pakistan, Yemen, and Libya, assassinates US citizens abroad without any due process….

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss…

This x 10000

All the corporate lackies are the same.

If only there was a candidate....

…that was immune to corporate influence, a principled, proven leader that may have some seemingly crazy ideas, but maintains a clear, sustainable, constitutional vision for our country…

Hmmm….

Cmon man.

The military industrial complex is hurting. You’re a real a-hole. It’s not asking too much for the American people to put up a little more $ to fight some more unsustainable wars. /sarcasm

And I have no idea where we would ever find someone like that see sig cough

Admittedly,

I wish he’d be a little more forceful about the need for serious reforms on entitlement programs, which in terms of unsustainable costs, dwarf the wars. I guess he’s keeping mum on that in part since it’s one of those issues that doesn’t poll well.

Not only that

But the president doesn’t have the power to reform it anyway, but its RP’s belief that cutting back on the wars and the military could help pay for our rising domestic costs at least in the mean time.

Shifting awareness back home, instead of out in other’s people’s business abroad is the best path to reform I think.

And ending all foreign aid.
Never happen

wrong place for this topic but there is one country with a powerful lobby which will never allow that to happen

Yup.

Even though we give 7x as much to said countries enemies.

They want that money given

The countries are not really “enemies” but there are forces in those countries that could be. They prefer the regimes in place to be propped up and under our thumb.

Which is the most ridiculous policy I've ever heard of

No wonder events like 9/11 happen, everybody hates us.

And that is why they prefer to argue about gays

or abortion or whatever else brings out strong emotion. It hides the real stuff under our nose

Yep pretty much

The Media does a very good job of spinning this type of emotional driven “news”

Which is why they so vehemently oppose Paul
I think he's just as concerned with ending the welfare state.

He just wants to wean the country off those programs instead of taking them away over night. ala giving people the chance to opt out of social security

A lot more money goes to corporate welfare than for the poor.

Do you really think poor people have pull in WASHINGTON DC?

Yessir

Why I support Ron Paul :D

Haha...

::HIGH FIVE::

I’ll just leave this here: http://i.imgur.com/kSH5L.gif

Sweet

My friend from Cali is sending me some Paul bumper stickers in the mail, I’m just gonna put them up around town strategically.

Or better yet, vote for neither party.
I'll vote for Paul

After that we’ll see, I’ll vote for the candidate I want to be president, not because one is the “lesser of two evils” or because I want my vote to be a “winning” one

THIS ^
Better is such a relative term.

We traded one warmongering, corporate lackey for another.

Obama is still a war monger, in fact he's expanded everything Bush has done.

He loves that Corporate/Big Bank money.

Hopefully this is the last time we hear that phrase.
7-9 is pretty good considering the crap we went through this year.

There’s a lot of work to be done in the off season and I don’t expect it all to be completed by the time next season rolls around. We definitely need to get rid of Muir as OC and find somebody who’s halfway competent at the job. The next is to find an O-line. We really do need a new QB, but I don’t see that getting addressed this year, with our draft position and all the other things we need. Finally, we need another pass rusher opposite Tamba.

All that being said, I have some optimism for RAC as HC. The players are obviously behind him and so far he’s 2-1 in his stint (assuming that the interim tag is dropped). We just need a shake-up in the coaching staff.

Hey Bowe haters.

How’d that offense look without him?
I’ve never seen a talent starved franchise fanbase hate on one of their best players before like that.

How'd that offense look the first 15 games with him?
Excluding the times Palko was throwing, considerably better.
Dont forget Cassel and his 100 yard games.
Catch the ball, and he gets nothing but love

Drop extremely important TDs, the hate is well-deserved

When is the last time he dropped an important TD?

Last year week 5?

Last week, but week 5 of last year before that.
I don't remember a drop last week?
The play before the Orton pick.
Yes, the hate this week was from his drop in the end zone that could have been a game winner

Definitely would have made this game a totally different animal

pittsburgh

right in the hands, no defenders behind him. td would have won that game. and that wasn’t even his worst play that game.

bowe should be one of the top 3 wr’s in the league. there’s a reason he’s never mentioned outside kansas city.

None of the Chiefs are mentioned outside of KC

Only Charles and Berry…Hali rarely gets any press

I don't really see how anyone can think we shouldn't do what it takes to resign him.

Now if Baldwin had looked like a first round pick, I could understand, but…..

fuck bowe

keep snitches off of the Chiefs. I will picket.

Huh?
Think Bowe complained about Haley to Pioli?
He went to scott pioli about haley,

like a chump

at least that’s what nick wright says

LOL

This is funny

1-0 in 2012!
The further this season went on...

The more pissed I got about that bullshit Baldwin pick

Well Plinko lost us some games
Different pick?
Never take WR's in the first round
2011's crop disagrees.
Not really...

Its all about positional value.

For every first round WR, there is another one that you can get after the first round… Elite teams don’t build at WR with first round draft picks.

Positional value was my problem with T Jax pick

3-4 DE not worth the value. NT a better pick there

I disagree.

I think all line positions are first round worthy.

but not top 5 worthy

G,C, RT and 3-4 DEs are not worth a top 5 pick

Again I disagree

Tyson Jackson was the prototypical 3-4 DE coming out of Kansas City, just because he hasn’t been as good as he should have been, doesn’t necessarily make it a bad pick.

I look at it like this...

If you have an offensive line that can keep a QB off his back, and a 3-4 DL that can allow LB’s to run free then you can plug those other spots in with average guys and they can excel.

I agree that there is a different priority on those positions, but I don’t think taking OL or DL in the first round is bad… Especially if you think they will be worth it… Ideally KC would have traded down and still have taken Tyson

Bowe?

Good thing we dont need another one. 1st round pick should be the #1 RT on the board assuming nothing bold happens with STL to get RG3

Matt Flynn

Should we go after him? instead of drafting a QB? Use our picks for the OL and DL

Tempted to agree

But I didnt see a complete QB, I saw a gunslinger that had some WR’s step up and make huge plays.

Valid point

I just dont think orton or cassel is the answer. I also dont see pioli drafting up to get RGIII. we might be able to get landry jones

Landry Jones???

Dude is pathetic. No way he should come out. He needs another year, and he’ll still suck.

I'm so tired of backup qb's coming to start for the chiefs, I dunno if I can take another
No

I’m sick of trying to make something out of career backups. We need to resign Orton to a short contract and have him compete with Cassel next year. Whoever loses the competion is traded for whatever we can get. Stanzi should be backup and get some reps in practice and preseason and if our starter goes down. After next year (or this year if we get lucky) take a REAL Qb in the draft.

I have enough faith in whoever wins between Orton and Cassel to make us somewhat respectable next year that I am ok with either as our QB for a little while.

But......

THAT would be too logical! C’mon MAN!

Disagree with Delaney

Today again shows we have a great defense. Add Berry and we will be top 5 in league next year. For the offense we bring back Charles, Moeki and add in two top picks for OL in draft. That attracts Matt Flynn. I am jacked for next year!!

I think we should temper the Flynn koolaid.

There are 120 minutes of tape on him, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Peter King

Had him as a potential star QB for next year BEFORE today’s game.

Our DL still gets blown

off the ball…our pass rushing has improved, but our DL needs work.

It needs a NT

Think we can make do with what we have (if dorsey is gone)

make do at DE I meant to say
Have needed one for 3 years.
Happens when the Nose Tackle lets free men through all the time
attracct Flynn to do what ? Are we bringing in Finley,Nelson and the other probowlers on that offense as well ?

A longtime backup taking over a loaded offense and playing well in a game is nothing to chase after .

you mean like Matt Cassel in NE?

Sounds as though Matt Flynn just raised his market value

to around 6 years $60+ million

Steelers are going to kill the Broncos so bad.

Harrison may permanently mangle Tebow.

AFC West will not be well represented in the playoffs. Again.

Steelers should shut Denver out.

Can you say Brady Quinn?

My soul is satisfied, all is well in the world

Carr needs to be signed Tom!! I cnt wait to see our team next year! We re going to be sick!! 7-9 I’ll take it but we should be the ones in the playoffs if we could of js blocked correctly and gotten a fuckin FG!!

4 thoughts

1. I have never been a fan of the saying “backing into the playoffs”, but if there was a case to be made for it is the 2011 Denver Broncos. Not a single impressive victory and losing 3 straight games to finish the season.

2. Bowe is clearly a huge part of the offense. Pay the man!

3. What if…..Damn Raider game

4. I am excited about next season. As long as our guys come back at least 95% of what they were, we are adding 2 first round quality players and a 2-3 round player. We are only a solid QB away from being a real SB contender.

I am going to enjoy watching the Broncos get destroyed in the playoffs.
What a pathetic team this really is.

We’re light years away from being good, on either side of the ball. On top of that, theres no coaching fixes out there available. This isn’t going to turn out well for a few years to come. I’d prefer wholesale change to Crennel, but with who?

Have you watched our defense?
Yes

I just got done watching Belcher and ANYONE in the middle of the D-line get their shit pushed in for 60 mins in a game that everyone knew the donkeys would run the ball 50+ times.

And holding the opponent team to a season low 3 points at home

that they only managed courtesy of a muffed punt inside our own 20. Ballers ball on the scoreboard, not in the yards against column.

3 points..

I would take that average forever!

I guess holding them to 3 points

3 points gift wrapped by the one muffed punt in Arenas’ career isn’t good enough for some people.

I really wish he didn't muff that punt

it would’ve been quite the statement to shut out two division opponents in their own houses (even if both beat us in ours thanks to a single blown coverage big play.)

OK...

if we’re so bad….what does that make the playoff bound Broncos?

Yeah... this defense is terrible
I prefer Crennel -

Our defense is good now.. Maybe even very good with a healthy Berry!

Congratulations Broncos -

You just backed into the playoffs..

You can resign either Bowe or Carr... Who do you chose?
Why is there a either/or?

$30 under the cap, sign em both,

Yeah, i'm getting sick of this question

Sign them both, its not like we don’t have the money.

30$ doesn't leave a lot of negotiation room
Well the economy and all...
Its just a question to guage who the fanbase would rather have.

If I had to pick, I take Carr

Both!
Carr

But either way you have to replace a first round talent if one of them leaves.

Carr.

But I’d suspect we sign both.

I checked the back of the book

the answer is C) All of the above

carr

but the way its set up…bowe gets tagged

carr has to be signed long term in the next couple weeks

Carr

I think we are pretty good at WR and really short on depth at CB. We are somewhat spoiled as fans by watching two great corners go at it every week. We were very lucky they were both healthy this year or it would have been much worse.

I know it sounds crazy but I think Bowe is more easily replaced. (maybe with Lloyd and McD?)

What names are out there for OC?

Todd Haley? Just kidding, but the rumors in Texas are that the Cowgirls want Haley as there OC next year.

Tony Sparano?

And have his DC Nolan come over as well…

I wouldn't wish that on Romo.
They are more than welcome to him.

May he and Jerry Jones cuss at each other in the middle of a game for many a year.

How appropriate that would be.

Have him going back to be OC for a HC who wants to be involved in the offense.

I love that defense in the final minutes.

I’ve saying it all year and the Chiefs listened*. Sit back and Tebow will tear you apart; play tough, and Tebow won’t be able to do anything. The Chiefs were perfect.

* Not really

Good enough to win, anyway....

I think the play calling from Crennel got real conservative in the last couple of posessions.

I hate conservatism in sports. The offensive playcalling was horrible.

But, defensively, it was a clinic. As someone that enjoys the strategy of the NFL over the big hits, etc., it was a joy to watch.

Crennel?

You think the defensive play calling got conservative?

Offensive playcalling tends to be conservative

(without a Brady or Rodgers) when you are starting from your own three yard line.

Held em to 3

Must have done something right.

Another sucky NFL Rule - now you can't touch a QB's legs?
Thank Bernard Pollard for that
Agreed.

Tebow pulled a serious soccer flop.

Chiefs had a hand in creating that rule when they played the Patriots in '08.
Horrible call by the official....

guess they felt America wanted to watch some Tebow “magic”…..we saw it!

nice win.

more wins on the road than at home, though. gotta fix that. if we have anything, its supposed to be a strong home field advantage.

I'll bet Carr has a contract by tuesday.
you confident on that?
After today he better.

And if he doesn’t before he’s UFA then Pioli needs to be fired.

have to agree. i keep trying to tell myself that he has to see what so many see...the same way he did on the lilja signing,

then paying hali, flowers, dj, charles etc

After today?

I hope Pioli doesn’t negotiate based on one game.

best way to end this game was on a play by carr, a pick....awesome. pay him please. or all many will fear the 1 tag, 2 players scenario
Gotta lock up our entire defense, although I still feel like our DL needs some work.
yes, yes it does.
this game was a good reminder to Pioli to pay both Carr and Bowe

Bowe dominated Champ Bailey and we accomplished nothing without him on offense.

thats a good point
Finally
Bowe dominated Champ Bailey
I don't know

I was perfectly content with the way this game played out. How some people can say we suck on both sides of the ball is madness to me. The second half of the season (with one exception being the Jets) the defense was fantastic.

And I agree with those who posted upthread that this team looked a lot different without Bowe on the field. But besides Dex we also had no serviceable running back either. Just like the Bears game, that’s the offense that was needed to close out the game. It’s not pretty, it’s not supposed to be. It chews clock and wins the game when the Broncos showed no signs they would be able to score.

Clear needs on the OL and TE positions and our offense immediately improves leaps and bounds with Charles back.

I’ll take 7-9 when most here were trying to find ONE win at 0-3.

Yeah, I remember that.
most here were trying to find ONE win at 0-3
Sucks that one block last week

and we are the ones in the playoffs

As they say in one of my favorite movies

“Without the bitter baby, the sweet isn’t as sweet”. Someday it will be all worth it when the Chiefs hoist the Lombardi again.

Offense going all out in the first half while Bowe is in game

Bowe is injured and we fall apart on Offense. Doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together and realize losing Bowe will be disastrous for this Offense

I think that was more the conservative play calling than Bowe....

Seemed like Crennel was channeling “Marty Ball” there at the end, but hey….a WIN is a WIN!!

Yep, several runs up the gut for 3 and outs

Its like we mailed it in offensively by the 2nd quarter.

And the announcers were giving us props for it which I found very weird.

why do you think they went conservative

little faith that they could get it done passing without Bowe. I mean they couldn’t possibly think Thomas Jones sweeps will work

They went conservative....

because Romeo trusts our defense a hell of a lot more than our offense…..and who can blame him?

it was conservative in the second half, but the chiefs had bad field positiion for most of the second have and

no bowe to go with it

Have to agree.

Whether Bowe had an effect on the playcalling is debatable, but it had more to do with the offense than Bowe’s absence did.

Broncos defense keyed on stopping the run after Bowe was hurt.

The OC just didn’t adjust at all.

Still not sure why Carr is getting a lot of love for this game

multiple times he was caught out and luckily for him Tebow was the QB and couldn’t hit the wide side of a barn or find an open Eric Decker

Pretty sure Carr has been good most of the season.....
I'm talking about this game only and how people are saying this game sealed it for his contract
ah well, I think he did well covering

but considering Tebow completed 8 passes this season against us, its good it was Tebow

thats not what people are saying

people are saying what a way to seal up the season, and send a message

and honestly, your case about him being lost is tied to tebow’s Terrible throws

I imagine he played differently

knowing that Tebow was there. He was probably keeping more of an eye on the run, knowing that he didn’t have to respect the pass much.

Orton average at best?

Thought Orton played well. No turnovers and ran the game plan well. Not his fault the OC called the game on his heals or that Bowe was injured. I’m sure KO would’ve loved to air it out! Why no deep passes?

I agree 100%....

Orton managed the game pretty darn well, was at least moving it in the 1st half, something we haven’t seen too much of with Cassel.

id like to see him with timing down w/ recievers
Red zone play

I’d like to see his decision making improve in the red zone, first and foremost. Unfortunately, that had always been his biggest negative, and I don’t see that changing.

a lot of that is timing though. you cant hit a fade route with consistency without it, and thats possibly why we never saw it called
Getting Bradon Lloyd will fix that.
Once McHoodie is the OC/AHC
I agree

but I’ll take that problem over the 15 that Cassel has or the 99 problems Palko has.

See that Fitz Catch
Yup.. Sure did. Pretty amazing
Tebow blows!
Some serious Hoopla going on over at ESPN over Tebow
hope its about how he got rocked today.
Hugh Jackson is
pissed
Oh yeah, he's ripping the Ray-duhz something fierce.

I’m kinda surprised by that. Never heard that before when Al was alive.

He's probably pissed

that he looks like a jackass for bragging on the Raiders and predicting how great they were going to do this year. He’s like Rex Ryan without the humor.

Tebow throws 200 passes for pre game warm-ups!!!

Hilarious

Someone should tell them that flea flickers don't count.
One thing I noticed.

Teams seem to score a lot more in the red zone when they have a good tight end. Pope and becht need to go. Since Tony was hurt the whole season, I think that lead to some of our problems. 7-9 to me with all the injuries is really not that bad and gives me hope for next year.

Orton’s arm will open up more running lanes for Jamaal. I just hope he comes back at full strength.

Yet another reason

to consider trading down in the first round to take Dwayne Allen, TE from Clemson. He & Moeaki would be a great tandem.

i kind of hope somehow WR mcnutt from iowa makes it to kc to complete team iowa, with stanzi to mcnutt and moeaki

ah well

need to be Serious consideration to taking a TE in the first 2-3 rds...this team loves 2 tight sets anyway
Man I agree.

Look at all the quarterbacks that made the playoffs. Tom, Drew and Alex Smith all had go to TE. There is something to be said about a backup QB but that also could be said for TE’s.

Orton worked very well with Olsen and Clark in Chicago!

Had absolutely nothing to work with in Denver. Play action and throwing to the TE works extremely well inside the 10 yard line.

Making A Statement For 2012-13

Just two months ago when we lost to both Denver & Miami in Arrowhead, I though that Romeo was done as DC. The problem with this season was Todd Haley and his playcalling. What I learned during the month of December is that, this team LOVE PLAYING FOR Romeo, and I was wrong about saying that the game done pass Romeo by. The head man for our Chiefs should be either Jeff Fisher or Romeo. We can’t go wrong with either one running this team. I do have some concern about next year OC !! The word out on the street is, if Romeo gets the job then Josh McD. will be hired as the OC, and that scares me.

If this defense plays like next year and with Cassel, Charles & Moeaki coming back for the offense, we should be able to regain the AFC West title back with some key addition: veteran backup QB( Orton), OL, DL, RB

Great Game!!!

orton will be the starter over cassel next year if we resign orton

don’t want mchoodie any were near one arrowhead drive

I have no problem with McD as OC

outside of this year he has been in charge of AAA offenses in this league, including record breaking ones. He has worked with Cassel and Orton, getting the most out of each. We have the pieces on offense in place that he will need and a HC/GM he respects and I’m guessing will listen to. He also presumably brings another all-pro level WR with him.
