at an upset. GB’s D is epically bad (geez, sounds like the Chiefs under Vermeil) and last time they played Giants lost 35-38. Giants did same thing to the Patriots that year they were supposedly unbeatable. My pick is NO over Houston in the SB. Balt’s been pretty crap this year actually and super inconsistent, NE’s defense is also epically bad. Houston has great D, great running game and if their QB can just be an effective manager they have a great shot this year. Shott, NE’s D is so bad I think Denver is actually capable of upsetting them but I don’t want to sound too crazy.
I just have family who like the Packers so I root for them often. Plus besides the Pats, in my neck of the woods there are lots of Giants fans. No fun.
Trading up for RG3, re-signing Orton, aquiring Flynn, developing stanzi, or drafting a qb in the 2nd or later rounds. I guess Im wondering why nobodys discussing Ryan Mallet anymore. A year behind bradyfor ryan mallet is at minumum better than stanzi. Id be willing to give another 2nd for their backup unproven qb.
I feel a year studying with Brady, and under Belichick
Will do a hell of a lot more for the kids maturity than being the stud qb at Arkansas. I also believe that his maturity was the only thing held against him in the draft. Plus we’ve seen what happens when you try to roll with a palko, so yeah he’s a 1st round talent that quite possibly has all his ducks in a row now.
But I would still build an amazing offensive line, as opposed to taking large gambles on high risk QBs. Trading picks for Qbs is a Raider move. If Flynn was available, then maybe, but for Mallet, not buying it.
Due to some knucklehead at QB like Mallet. He is not who I want to see leading My team. I am not a Cassel fan, but at least the guy has class. We can do better than Mallet. If a replacement is what we want, then Jason Campell is available
I want Dirk Koetter to be our new OC. He is very underrated as one of the good offenisve minds in all of football, who understands balance between a running game and taking shots downfield. Whoever, the OC is, I think McCluster has been under-utilized in the passing game. The bubble screens are great to get him in space but it seems like that is the only play they use him on in the pass game. But that’s where JC comes in as well as Moeaki and help on the line.

David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech
Wilson has been an absolute force at running back in three years at Blacksburg. Despite setting high standards every season, he has still managed to get better and better. Wilson rushed 59 times for 334 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman in 2009 (a 5.7 average per carry). Even when he started to see more and more playing time, the average remained the same. He had 113 attempts for 619 yards and five scores as a sophomore before really breaking out in 2011; 290 carries for 1709 yards and nine touchdowns.
This is what we need to discuss. Are any of these qbs worth taking. I agree with you on weedon I think he could start from day one. It’s not like we offer much compitition
Sign Carr and Bowe
Turn Stanzi loose, and profit?

KC Nate - January 12, 2012 via iPhone app
It makes me nervous
how much I like Houston this weekend. Spread is up to 9.
Steve_in_RI - January 12, 2012
Spread is a pretty flat 7.5 everywhere
It’s only 9 with slanted juice at the square books like Bovada. If you want the 9, you’re paying -135.
Personally, I’d rather have +7.5 at -110.
BUT, I think the better bet is GB/Balt -110 6 point tease to -1.5. I think both win, although I agree the Balt game should be within a score.
kcsno56 - January 12, 2012
Yeah I really like houston so far
hopefully they don’t fall flat against baltimore
KC Nate - January 13, 2012
Draft talk
Would anyone like to see us get back to have a devastating offense line? How many problems would this fix/.
PKJW - January 12, 2012
I think David DeCastro is the best available choice at 11 or 12 and a great 10 year prospect
PKJW - January 12, 2012
I am one
who wants the Shields, Roaf, etc dominant line back. It does hide QB weaknesses and in an offensive league we can use any advantage we can get.
I mean Trent Green was below average almost everywhere else (not his fault in St. Lou) but here for one reason. The mammoths in front of him.
Steve_in_RI - January 12, 2012

So I see a lot of comments about
Trading up for RG3, re-signing Orton, aquiring Flynn, developing stanzi, or drafting a qb in the 2nd or later rounds. I guess Im wondering why nobodys discussing Ryan Mallet anymore. A year behind bradyfor ryan mallet is at minumum better than stanzi. Id be willing to give another 2nd for their backup unproven qb.
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
Could you live with Orton?
PKJW - January 12, 2012
Yes.
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
But if we went with decastro in the 1st, re-signed orton and got mallet with our 2nd, Id be happier
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
We dont need Mallet if sign Orton IMO
PKJW - January 12, 2012
Remember what it was like to have Will Shields, DeCastro is that level
PKJW - January 12, 2012
If he at the level of Will Shields, he wouldn’t last until the 11th pick. He would be taken top 3.
manofnothi - January 13, 2012
Ive sent palko and cassel packing in this scenario
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
We have paid Cassel, he is a good back up option, I say keep him. He is good in the locker room and a solid team leader
PKJW - January 12, 2012
Chiefs didn't think he was worth a #3 last year.
Why would they think he’s worth a #2 now?
Tarkus - January 12, 2012
chiefs thought tyson jackson was worth 3rd over all.
Plus I think the talents there, it was just a character issue
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
We need to user our picks on positions of need, back up QB is really not one, we have stanzi and have to see what is about
PKJW - January 12, 2012
position of need or best available player.
Different schools of thought.
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
Either way, Mallet for a 2 would not fit .
I am saying our 2 could be Dline, Inside LB, TE, areas we are very vunerable
PKJW - January 12, 2012
Pioli says he believes in a combo of the two.
More like best player available in a position of need, presumably unless a player falls to them that they can’t pass up, no matter the position.
Tarkus - January 12, 2012
You avoided my question.
The Chiefs didn’t think he was worth a 3rd round pick last year. Why would think think he’s worth a 2nd round pick now?
Tarkus - January 12, 2012
*they think
Tarkus - January 12, 2012
Agree

PKJW - January 12, 2012
Its possible he could be great
But we have not seen anything to reflect that. We know less about Mallet than we knew about Cassel.
PKJW - January 12, 2012
With Orton
At least we know what we are getting, and we could keep the #2 in your scenario
PKJW - January 12, 2012
So what would you like to do if Orton moves o?
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
I would be disappointed
But I would still build an amazing offensive line, as opposed to taking large gambles on high risk QBs. Trading picks for Qbs is a Raider move. If Flynn was available, then maybe, but for Mallet, not buying it.
PKJW - January 12, 2012
Im actually with you, I would love an awesome oline and
A nasty defense, but I’ve seen that before and Im ready to take some sort of risk for a quarterback.
Montana Chief - January 12, 2012 via mobile
I do not want to go 4-12 again

PKJW - January 12, 2012

neiowakcfan - January 13, 2012
I think he by far the most realistic option. With Flynn entering the market, I am having trouble seeing where Orton goes to be a starter

Dirk Koetter/Dexter McCluster
I want Dirk Koetter to be our new OC. He is very underrated as one of the good offenisve minds in all of football, who understands balance between a running game and taking shots downfield. Whoever, the OC is, I think McCluster has been under-utilized in the passing game. The bubble screens are great to get him in space but it seems like that is the only play they use him on in the pass game. He needs to be in the slot and run those intermediate routes underneath a la Wes Welker and get downfield. This guy has the ability to bust out and be a force in the run/pass game. Those are two topics I needed to address and throw out there. What do you all think?

Beacuse a guy named Kyle freaking Orton
kaiser1118 - January 12, 2012
Agreed,
The dude is Deberg like with Play Action
PKJW - January 12, 2012
I agree
as well as with the playaction comment below. People throw out a lot of negative Orton stats and yes he has struggled at times. I will offer though that his success in Chicago with a bunch of nobodies running routes shows he can make guys better.
But here he faced three teams all with something to lose in the game. So no excuses like “Rivers fumbled the ball” or “all the Raiders had the plague”. Buck'O - January 12, 2012
Daniels was decent in spot duty when Flowers got hurt.
It would likely be between him and Jalil Brown. Chiefs would also likely look for a replacement in the draft of Free Agency.
If he’s walking, the Chiefs will know before anyone and will be able to plan accordingly.
citadelchief - January 12, 2012
That's scary

Wilson has been an absolute force at running back in three years at Blacksburg. Despite setting high standards every season, he has still managed to get better and better. Wilson rushed 59 times for 334 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman in 2009 (a 5.7 average per carry). Even when he started to see more and more playing time, the average remained the same. He had 113 attempts for 619 yards and five scores as a sophomore before really breaking out in 2011; 290 carries for 1709 yards and nine touchdowns.
