I'm back in the homeland this weekend, good 'ole Kansas City. It's been great to see Joel and the rest of my family and friends here. That is definitely my victory of the week.

I've been subbing this week, and...
find that I kinda like teaching. So maybe working at a University will be a good thing for me… teaching and research are my 2 big things that I enjoy it appears.
With that said, I applied for a job monitoring air pollution in the city. This is a job that would help make a difference in Kentucky. It would be great experience applying research to a practical level in government. One that might be able to lead me into a Research Univeristy Faculty position one day. Plus it pays much more than substitute teaching.

They keep on telling me that these places are cities.
I think Louisville has about 500,000 people… There is about 1 degree of separation between friends. Questions you hear here at first meeting is what school did you go to(and they are referring to High School not College)?
Lexington thinks that it is the biggest city in the state (possibly most states), but its a small town. Frankfort is probably the next biggest town… this is where vultures go to eat on their prey.
Oh and there is Covington… which is weird place. Its like hickville butted up next to Cincinatti, but on the KY side of the river (much could be said of where I live). The coolest thing about Covington is that it was settled by German immigrants, and sausage is there prized possess there, GOETTA.

You can't go wrong with Nikkon or Canon
The current one I have is about 6 or so years old, and I bought it used. It is nice, but I think it only takes 12 or 15 megapixels… the shutter speed is slow… the viewfinder shows about 90 percent of the shot, etc.
It takes great pictures but I wanna see what I can do with a better camera. I’ve already upgraded lenses. I wish that Arrowhead would have let me take it in to the game last year.

F stop is extremely important for what you are doing...
Zeroing in what is white is important to as is iso… But you should learn those things soon enough. Once you learn these things you can manipulate them under other circumstances and get creative photographs.

They had the Rex Ryan and the jets locker room commercial but they had to abandon that when they failed to make the playoffs, now they run the backup commercial of “the pre game pep talk”. Good thing they had a backup plan. I wonder if the whole Pepsi commercial contributed to the jets implosion and meltdown. Maybe holmes was upset that Sanchez got the speaking part in the commercial . Either way I always laugh when I see that shit.

It’s a three day cut-over weekend :( I have to merge a production network with a new acquisition network. One public IP space, one set of firewalls, two LAN’s, two default routes. Sometimes I just feel like we chopped the wrong guy in the end. We shall see, I think Haley will end up on top somewhere, but the Chiefs can still move forward.
I think Haley might have been against a lot of the boneheaded Chiefs moves from the past few years and Haley and Pioli went round and round getting know where fast.
Hopefully Pioli’s methods prove right in the long run and it starts with these upcoming hires.

I just don't see it or want it...
I want the Chiefs to make a strong hire on defense, but I fear they will not.
They need some help, this comfort level over three games makes me sick. This team was humiliated often this year…sometimes in Arrowhead. Yet, a lot of fans are comfortable with stauts quo after two AFC West games and beating the Packers in a low scoring thriller where they thought the Chiefs were awful.
The lack of alarm concerns me. Romeo calling the plays is fine, but the Chiefs need a Mike Nolan, Jack Del Rio type of defensive perspective to put some force into the game planning for next season.

According to Football Outsiders.
If the Broncos win tomorrow, it will be the third largest upset in the last 20 years. Our 1995 loss to the Colts when You-Know-Who missed those field goals is one of the upsets bigger than that. The other one was the Giants over the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
