Giants Vs. Packers Open Thread

The New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers play in the NFC divisional round and believe it or not I'm not picking the Packers to win.

I think New York can do it. I think they pressure Aaron Rodgers, create a turnover or two and score enough points to beat the Packers. It's a big underdog pick but, like four years ago against New England, I think the Giants can win in a big upset.

Who ya got for the game?

New England New York SB?

Nope…Picking the Packers

Giants please.

They win and I’m up eighteen bills before the week even starts.

Good start to the week for you.

Congrats.

Glazer reporting that Clements could be looking for an OC position somewhere or did I hear that wrong?

I guess anyone that wants him will have to hope Philbin doesn’t go anywhere, otherwise Clemets probably just moves up the ladder in GB.

I heard that too
Giants win

9ers own next week, while ray lewis goes to jail again for killing tom brady. All harbaugh SB, with the little brother getting his revenge.

Did yall see that story on NFL.com about "big brother"

like we posted about earlier today…Didnt think it would be up there

Chiefs are the only team that can beat the Packers.
yes

that clements dude was in kc before, even was the qb for kc back in the day

Coached Elvis

Grbac

Watching some of these games this weekend, makes me really wish we had a solid QB.
As opposed to watching games previous weekends?
Ha,

I suppose watching the Chiefs games make me wish it even more.

I hear lots of "Cruz" chants.

How many Giants fans can be their? Isn’t it like a 2,000 year wait for tickets?

Season tickets plus scalpers are season ticket holders
Yeah lol

Glad we dont have to wait 2000 years to see our sweet QB Matt Cassel underachive for us every home game.

Plenty of yellow seats now available.
Hope the Giants pull a stunner

So i dont have to hear the media all up on the Nuts of the Green Bay"NEXT BEST THING SINCE TEBOW" Packers

who couldn't beat the Chiefs?

I’ll take it.

I stuck with my NYG pick on this one
Remember when all those people said that Cassel was as good or better than Eli?
Yes. Remember when many of us drank that Kool Aid

I had the shits for 3 years.

Really?

People said that? Eli won a SB…who would say that

Heavy kool-aid drinkers
Well...

No amount of spiked Kool-aid can say Cassel is good…

it depends on what you spike it with
Gotta be some strong stuff if any kind can make someone think he is good
Red Bull Vodka FTW
+ cranberry
Ewww!
Tisk Tisk

Not my favorite drink but still not too bad. Gin and Tonic w/ lime on the other hand… delicious.

Does it work?
Depends on your definition of work, I suppose.

It gives you a buzz without making you drowsy.

I don't think that was what Muir was drinking
He was drinking Nyquil Vodka.
His version of purple drink
Green drank?
He's a Leprachaun?
Well

we do have fans that believe Cassel should start over Orton…

Of course we do

he had 27 TDs and 7 INTs last season…never mind he had like 10TDs and 9 INTs this year…he gets a pass

Yeah

I hate whenever all Cassel supporters can be is point to 27 and 7 when he clearly played terribly that year with the 26th completion rate for starting QBs and could not convert on 3rd downs.

Not to mention Charles carried our team that year, and Cassel went 0td and 3int against the ravens

Thank you for logic
So

you think we should start Cassel over Orton?

No way lol

But we need better QB play all around

Yeah

Hope Charles can come back fully healthy… That would help Orton out alot

Haley didn't have time to work with him this year.

Or 2009.

oh yea...Haley wasnt coaching in 2010 right?

It was Weis?

Haley is apparently taking all the credit.

Or so the rumor goes, that he’s pissed that Weis was getting credit instead of him.

I heard that rumor at that M&Ms Pizza place down the street from my house
Did you text Bob Fescoe?
Nah I had an appointment with Nick Wright

then I told Fescoe

So who called Jack Harry?
Didn't you tell him?
No I thought he was receiving messages..............
what about whitlock
Nah Whitlock knew all along
I kind of wish we never had pick up orton

so stanzi could have gotten some snaps

You go back last year when I was saying Cassel's numbers were an artifact of the run game and he was a bottom 10 QB in the NFL, and look at the comments.

A good number of Chiefs fans thought he was a top 15 QB ahead of Manning.

I may have been one of those

I hope not, but I am firmly convinced now he is not even a “serviceable” starter…I was convinced he was a product of Jamaal Charles however

montana almost got us a super bowl
Eli is for sure underrated
Show me what u got what u got raji ra raji ra raji
Giants

look good. Go giants!

and then they stall

DANG.

yeah

haha no worries. Looks like they can move the Packs D up and down the field as of now.

I always wonder what the perception of Eli's career to date would be if his name wasn't Manning.

I think he always was under appreciated and given a rougher time because he was Peyton’s brother.

Unless my HD is broken I don't know how conclusive that was.

My TV showed the ball hitting the ground and popping out before any part of his body was conclusively down. It’s one of those plays though where you know he’s down even if the evidence isn’t there and the refs don’t seem to be able to call it as per the rule which states the video has to show it and they aren’t allowed to think for themselves.

do u think cassel could beat out kolb in arizona
lol

I think we should find out by trading Cassel to AZ for a draft pick.

As bad as Cassel has been, he's probably shown enough to have some trade value.

Especially this offseason where there won’t be enough Qbs to go around. Maybe to his old USC coach?

that's like asking someone if they'd rather get kicked in the nuts or punched in the face
Punched in the face, thanks.
Agreed

Can at least get up from that.

Depends, who will be doing the punching/kicking
Ohhh that 3 weeks without playing rust is showing a bit huh Aaron?
and to think

We handily beat this Packer team. Next year is gonna be a good year

Next year= this year?
next season would have been a more accurate statement i guess
"Handily" is a little inaccurate

If we didnt have poor red zone offense, I would agree

nope, it's accurate

they were never in a position to win. We controlled the game from start to finish

We way outplayed them.

And a real late score made the game look closer than it really was. But yeah, better red zone offense would have resulted in a blowout.

what would be the trade value for cassel

what rd pick could u get for cassel

maybe a 5th round
Campbell drew a #4.

Kolb drew the lottery.

God I hate the Packers....

And no amount of liking Aaron Rodgers will ever change that.

Darn it Giants

Y’all are making it look easy

The Packers are a very flawed team
Boy nicks is working out pretty well for them.
a 1st rd pick from the class of 2009 that everyone complains about.

Sure, a lot of the players taken in the top 10 haven’t been good, but there were good players to be had with good scouting

If Packers lose here, it's going to be a long offseason for them

You could say the Chiefs victory got them off track. No undefeated season, sit starters week 17, bye last week, flat so far today

he's gotta find a cure for the dropsies, first
ooops, meant to reply to Andrew33
Bowe

has been getting a lot better at focusing and catching the ball every year. Agree or disagree?

Agree...Still the only receiver getting over 1k yards...
Resign

Bowe… He would have a similar impact as Nicks with a competent QB.

Is the sound out on Fox for anyone else?
Fox is always crappy
No, you're just lucky.
Well I'm glad it's just not me.
And now I just lost video as well. Yay!!!!
Video has been going on and off for me
I picked the Pack to win cuz I want to be the only team to beat them

I didnt know they wasnt gonna try to win

if u signed and traded orton what do u think his trade value is
why would you

You sign and keep him

About the same as the 5th round comp pick we'll get for letting him walk?
What

would we do for QB?

zero

a FA QB isn’t going to sign with a team and then that team is going to turn around and trade him. He’ll sign on with the highest bidder. If a team wants him, they will outbid other teams to sign him and not give up a draft pick

Not only that

But it’d be worth fucking our chances at free agents when they see we sign people to trade them giving them no choice where they go when they could have signed somewhere they desired.

McCarthy is lucky the other ref ruled the other way.
What?
"The ruling on the field stands."
But the ruling on the field was fumble and down?
Down by contact.
No it was a down by contact fumble

come on now

hahaha

How does one ref overule one ref anyway?

Whoever wears blacker stripes overrules the other
Wow...

Refs want the pack to win

Wow

fuck the packers.

More like fuck the refs.

It happens every game and im so tired of it.

Giants need to find a pass rush
fixed

Giants Packers need to find a pas rush

Let's recap

The 1 and 2 seeds are playing next week in the AFC and the 2 seed in the NFC is waiting to play next week…So who will win this game?

That could be a big moment in the game.

Potentially 17-3 or 10-10. Huge swing.

Yeah

It looked like a clear fumble.

Pack

got real lucky that play wasnt ruled a fumble…

Ref is a Chiefs fan.
Seriously how was that not out?

This game needs more Gene Steratore and less Bill Leavy.

National Fixed League Lol
is haley coaching green bay
McCarthy hates the new KO rule

with all the touchbacks.

He knew thats where the ball should've been anyway without their TD on the board so figured "why not?"

Playing with house money.

Green Bay knows they can't stop the Giants, so they just give them good field position so they can get the ball back faster
i thought haley only calls on side kicks
He's paranoid about kick returners.
and cell phones too i guess
and press conferences
ex chief lawrence tynes

the further back tynes is the better kicker he is

Rodgers is freaking awesome.
He just ran the option
If only he had our weapons.
Eerily similar to the Chief game
I'm not seeing that.

Other than the drops, but they were way tougher passes against the Chiefs.

Ah I meant the drops...

Its a lot of them for sure

Chiefs were harrassing Rodgers big time though.

Forcing some hurried throws into tight coverage.

yeah NYGs need to step up the rush
Green Bay dropping passes

I remember what happened when they did that a lot in Kansas City

I always say that the key to elite offenses is getting as many guys as you can to play at a high level at the same

The Packers to start the season probably had 14 guys playing at a high level on offense there was simply no way they could keep that up and over the the last 6 weeks or so injuries and just players coming back down to earth is why the big drop off in the packers offense .

Still great but but instead of that 14 playing great its now down to maybe 6-7.

Rolle is a idiot why didnt he follow his blockers along the left side he couldve gone all the way instead he cuts back inside towards the pile LOL
My fox channel just went with a creepy voice you hear on horror movies

lets just say I laughed so hard

Even with instant replay the MF can't get it right.

That was a fumble. The refs are for GB. I wan’t GB to win but thats BS when they don’t get the calls right.

What the hell

does it mean when they put there palm out and brush it off?

I didn't see it.

Tipped pass? That’s to show it can be caught by anyone and there can’t be interference.

It's players that are doing it for a celebration.
Then I don't know.
A la Ref or A la Hernandez?
Yeah, Hernandez did it last night.
Make it rain I think?

If Im remembering right.

Nj chiefs fan here, hoping the giants lose as I cannot stand hearing how this is like playing NE and how great they are
I agree with this

But the Packers playing against them like they did against us…….

Yes

Timely sack by the giants

somebod better tell that cohn to sit down in the 2nd half
Wow

great play by bradshaw

OMG PALKO STRIKES AGAIN!!!!
Wow Palko does it again.
WOW

ELI MANNING TO NICKS

I dont think the Pack were expecting that.
Was three whites against two greens in that corner of the endzone
Should have known the Packers would quit
Pack's defense really sucks.
Palko could have pulled that one off
palko could throw a hail mary from the chiefs 20 yards line
Manning 14/24, 274 yards and 2 TDs in a half.

Cassel sucks.

LOL

where Cassel come from?

Arrowhead Pride

“Where it’s always about Cassel”

I thought it was always about tebow bashing and stanzi loving
Tebow and Stanzi have become non-topics
is manning still on topic?
I hope not

But im sure it is

arrowhead pride

where were always waiting for the chiefs to draft a qb in the first round

I thought it was offensive tackle in the first round.
i thought it was waiting to draft a qb in the first rd
or waiting to see who the new DC and OC are
zorn for OC and Romeo for DC
for all your breaking news
Mims

dissaproves this motto

It's all about Cassel if Mims wants it to be.
psh orton could do better
g men must of called palko for some hail mary advice
The PO PO is coming. RUN
49ers vs ravens, there I said it
Tough

to see Brady lose to the Ravens imo. But i guess anything can happen!

In the third place bowl?
I think

it will be 49rs vs Pats, but Giants vs Pats as you suggest would be a great superbowl.

giants vs pats is boring.

I like underdogs (9ers)

Uh

rematch for Superbowl XLII? You must be insane.

brady to TE, Elli to WR

Blah. Same show, I rather see something strange.

Strange?

49rs its going to be alex smith to vernon davis and run by gore and hunter.

Giants D against the Patriots O would be a great matchup, not to mention it will be much more personal matchup since Giants were the only ones to stop Brady that year, and would be very interesting to see how insanely Brady will play that game.

I hate both brady and eli so I rather not see a douchebag win a SB
rofl

understood, although i love tom brady

49ers are a 2 seed.
I still think the Niners are pretenders.

And I can’t see Alex Smith playing another 6 minutes like he did yesterday, ever again.

Alex Smith

has played that well consistently throughout the season though. Harbaughs really helped him limit his mistakes.

This is what happens

when you draft and…I dunno…pay attention and develop your quarterback. Crazy idea huh?

Consistent yes but the last 6 minutes of that game he was just unconscious
I guess

he is no Cassel

13-3 records, won against the saints

they be pretending

I like to pretend the Chiefs will be that good next season.
The Saints kept them in the game.

They had one of the easiest schedules in the league, play in the worst division in football(and its not even close) and if it isn’t for three first quarter turnovers they probably arent even in that game yesterday.

so you're going to call them pretenders for playing good D?

ok..

I guess the chiefs been pretending all year

I think

you are underestimating them, but it is somewhat deserved since they haven’t been very good for a long time.

Also worst redzone efficiency in the league

And other then the Tampa game nothing they did this year was all that impressive.

so I guess you were in favor of broncos going to the playoffs instead of the chiefs

because you know…our red zone sucked all year

If we made the playoffs we wouldnt be pretenders?
Hey hey hey

we are no pretenders… especially our D kept us in so many games while Cassel and Palko were starting for us. That is an admirable feat in itself.

read above, having good d means you're a pretender
Oh

I love when the Chiefs are pretenders

Where exactly did I say that?
'if it isn’t for three first quarter turnovers they probably arent even in that game yesterday.'

yes they had 3 TO because the 9ers forced them to have have 3 TO

let me guess, having good D means pretending

So turnovers = good D?

Tell that to Packer fans.

did you watch the game or are you just BSing?

yes the 49ers D was so bad that brees wouldn’t march up and down like he normally does

/sarcasm

472 yards, 32 points and one of those turnovers inside the 10 yard line.

Yep. Amazing defense there. You don’t think that game ends differently if Roby isn’t an idiot and Pierre Thomas doesn’t get horribly injured?

yes you're correct because turnovers magically come out of nowhere

nope defense not needed.

All the 9ers had to do was leave a saints player open and they will magically fall down and fumble the ball.

do you pray to tebow?

Depends how you look at it I guess.

I saw a Saints team that could’ve run away with it if they dont shoot themselves in the foot. Alex Smith was impressive in the last few minutes of the game but I just don’t seem him duplicating that again.

yes because

some guy poking the ball away from your arms

good coverage

stopping the run

and pressuring the QB

all equals

bad defense

How did the defense make Roby cough up a punt return?

Nevermind. We’ll see next week I guess.

so you're in favor of tebow going to the playoffs?

seriously if you win, does it matter if you’re a pretender or not?

if the goal is to prevent all pretenders from going to the playoffs,
might as well ban the chiefs from playing next year cause we won’t be the pats, packers, giants, or saints

Packers were pretenders last year.

Were lucky to even make the playoffs.

according to generic, the packers didn't deserve to win the Sb

even though they had the higher score

Not sure how you're jumping to these conclusions.

If the Niners make the Super Bowl then I’ll gladly eat crow. Im just saying they’ve done absolutely nothing all that impressive this year.

indeed. Good D and beating the saints are not impressive

I mean good D? That’s pretending

The only thing impressive is they helped my gambling addiction this weekend by padding my wallet.
Speaking

of the broncos, they suck. :D

No home team has lost so far in the playoffs

Ironic that it will be the Packers(maybe)

Who has SB rights this year?
I still have the Packers.
Ugh

Chris Collingsworth ….

yeah

it sucks i hate that whiner

Is that you, Shaun Smith?
couldn't be..........

that makes to much sense

Smith posted something like that

about Collinsworth earlier this season.

didn't know that
john madden should host the SB

BOOM there he goes to the left with the 7 slant and 78 run

boom! The whole screen would be full of crazy numbers

Rodgers can't trust his receivers.

So he’s running for first downs himself.

TUCK RULE!!!!
watch them overrule it
The packers suck.....jeez

The Giants told the media that KC wanted it more and played more physical so thats why they won…..Should have known they were paying close attention to the film

Steelers didnt.
They believed their own hype

instead of looking at film from the week before

They didn't even need film.

Just listen to a 2 minute interview with DJ. “Don’t bite on the double moves”.

packers need to sit Rodgers for Flynn Im surprised the crowd hasnt starting chanting yet
Packers fans >>>>>>>>>> Broncos fans
all fans >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Broncos fans
Broncos fans > Raider fans > Charger "fans"
All these drops are making Bowe look good.
Yup

and Nicks playing well shows how crucial keeping a guy like bowe would be if Orton prove to be a good accurate QB, which he has shown so far.

WTF?

Can anyone on this team catch the ball?

it doesn"t look like it
which one? both look horrible
The ones wearing green and gold.
that's gold? Looks like piss yellow
I was looking at their rings.
Rings? Where did they get the second one?
The Right 53 rings.
One ring to rule them all
the best part of this playoff weekend

is a holiday on Monday :D

Rodgers is definitely not on top of his game.

Even discounting all the drops.

"Discounting"?
discount

double check? :O

Yep

20% off every Sunday

remind me to get into more car accidents on sundays
this is my thought on this game

Bart Simpson, is that you?
Dam

that ref looks like a ghost

The Ghost and Mr. Muir.
Great

catch and recover by Cruz

GB really has a shitty defense
you just now realized that?
I canNOT Wait...

Until Matt Cassel can win us a Superbowl!

Homerish
Wishful Thinking
Sarcasm

YES

a reference to the kansas city chiefs!

Unbelievable.
Im feeling richer and richer by the minute.
game
LMAO....

Never seen anyone brag about that small of a number….

Its because I get tired of Chiefs fans talking shit on the Royals...

Because in reality the Chiefs haven’t been any better than the Royals.

Absolutely correct

1 world title, loyal fanbase, long stretches of irrelevance…

I would disagree.....

The Royals have been consistently shitty.. The Chiefs have been mostly mediocre and had a couple really bad seasons but a few playoff seasons.. The royals are out of it by the all star break

Royals won a World Series in 85... Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 69
mmm...ok

You want to use winning % since 1985? I was talking about your selective choice of years you used for your sig… I think 10 years would show more relevancy..

Franchise winning percentages are much closer than you would expect too.
Not really.

You don’t get the wild discrepancy in records in MLB that you do in the NFL. .400 is about mediocre in football. In baseball, .400 means you’re horrible.

6 wins is mediocre?
That's .375

The Colts finished with a .125 winning percentage. When was the last time a MLB team finished anywhere close to that?

.400 is 6.4, you can't have .4 wins.

apples to oranges. if you take out the extremes due to sample size winning percentages level out.

Without doing the math, I would imagine if you took the average winning percentage of playoff teams in MLB and the NFL they would roughly be the same.

Precisely my point.
apples to oranges.
But that wasn't my point.

the point was that Chiefs fans have no ground to stand on, because the Chiefs are bad too.

I'm not saying they haven't been.

I’m just saying their records aren’t a good comparison, because .410 is a lot worse in baseball than it is in football.

but as you increase the sample size the winning percent becomes more meaningful
The average winning percentage

Is always .500 for every league in every sport in history, except for hockey (due to SOL/OTL). :D

Golf would like a word with you.
And will see if you keep it current

come April 15th…

Figures

Guess the Chiefs cant have anything this season

Yes

No repeat for the Packs.

Thats what happens

when you get all complacent and get your star players doing discount double check commercials

Yeah.

Just weird how it took so long for their complacency to kick in.

Could blame the Chiefs for this Packers loss.

If the Packers didnt lose to us they would’ve played to go undefeated including playing starters in week 17. This looks like a team that sat starters when they shouldn’t have.

So the Chiefs ruined the Packers season

But no one will ever remember that

We know and that's all that matters.
What?

Roughing the passer? Blow to the head?

Blow to the head?

Where?

I saw his head hit a blade of grass when he went to the ground.
accoding to the ref, the head is located in the middle of your body
It's wherever Roger Goodell wants it to be
This giants win has way more to do with gb playing crappy, dropped balls etc, not looking forward to hearing how great the giants are here in NJ...I hope they get crushed next week
Im ok with Brady playing them again in the SB
That D-line had alot to do with them playing crappy

Eli outplayed Rodgers, gotta give it to em

Disagree, did u not see the dropped passes? Or r u a giants fan? Lol. Let's be honest they are flat, ridges
They are flat I meant
Giants simply wanted

the game more than the packers.

A Giants fan? Check out the avatar

You really gonna put this game on drops? The Giants flat out out-played em.

Yea the hail Mary wasn't luck? Or hold up I'm sure the giants called it lol, get real man
What in the world are you talking about

How many calls went against NY today? And Nicks beat his guy and there were only 2 damn guys back there. Hate all you want, but the Giants won the game.

I wouldnt call the Hail mary luck.

Three Giants and two Packers on potentially the last play of the half? Thats some pure stupidity by the defense.

Worst Hail Mary defense ever?
When you just blocked at 40 yard FG and you play in one of the harder buildings to kick from outside of 40

I don’t see how you dont defend the Hail Mary there.

Really

There were 3 giants and 2 packers, blown coverage, had nothing to do with luck. Giants have outplayed the Packers the whole game, seriously, what game are you watching. They are out rushing them, and out passing them.

Lets be honest

They dropped a lot in our game too so should we blame drops for their loss?

That was a huge part of it..as much as I want to say we flat out beat them they did beat themselves, I'm just gettin tired of everyone overrating the giants, I watched most of their games and they're not that great
That's 1 hell of an over-rated team
Really? U sure the giants r my ur second team? Let me ask u this...how many times have u watched them
Well

They are going to the NFC championship so that makes them in the top 4 in the NFL, if that makes you overrated, damn.

r my ur second team?

Anyways, I get to watch em alot I had the league pass. Were inconsistent alot until they got healthy and hit that stretch. Seahawks and both Redskins game were terrible, but every teams got those games. They’ve come up big in big games this year, no? Not sure how you watching them more than me justifies them being over-rated?

U mean the cowboy games? Yea bc thats such a great team…giants r playing well right now, but all I’m saying is that they’re being hyped up right now by ppl who haven t watched them much …if they beat San Fran next week I’ll finally agree but I doubt that will happen so pls stop jumping on their bandwagon, packers playing terrible had more to do with them than the giants, giants only get credit for taking advantage of it

Whos jumping on the bandwagon? I'm saying THEY won, not the Packers lost

The whole points of being a good team is taking advantage of other teams mistakes man. The DL dominated, rushed his throws which could’ve contributed to some of those drops. We’re just gonna agree to disagree. Swearin they dropped 10-20 balls and the game was close or something.

Disagree the packers LOST
Ive seen almost every game this year.

They suffered from inconsistency on both sides of the ball because of injuries. Early on in the secondary on defense then in the pass rush and on offense they had almost no running game all year because of injuries. Now they’re the healthiest they’ve been all year and are on a roll.

Didn't their 1rst pick miss a bunch of games to start out too?
Half the season.
I live in nj and work in NYC so I get both nj and ny fans..all of which say that prince is not that great...so prince didnt have much to do with their inconsistency
Missing Bradshaw for four games is the whole year?
It's still missing your best RB

And Jacobs missed some games, half their DL, Nicks.

again I'll give them credit if they win next week...
Bradshaw and Jacobs are a package deal and always have been

And Jacobs was missing for a few games. And when they had both of them the defense was ailing. What I’m saying is the team is healthy and clicking now and its showing up on the scoreboard.

There was alot more "wide open" drops in this game though.

I think we did more to disrupt timing and had tighter coverage although they still did drop a couple gimmes in our game too.

my theory from above stands .The packers went through a phase during that streak where they caught everything .
Looking forward to NYG at SF
Rematch city in the NFC
Wow that was close.
dam

Victor Cruz comes up big again

yeah that rec was a killer
Just tearing them up right now
Heres to a San Fran./Baltimore Super Bowl.
Cheers, my friend

cheers

I'm callin rematch

Tom wants revenge! “BRING ME ELI!”

Ive already seen one hella boring football championship this year.

Not sure I can sit through another.

Yeah

Ravens are a boring team to watch.

Patriots vs Giants!

Also that's the worst possible thing that could happen if you don't like Cassel

Because Pioli will be sitting at home saying “Oh look the Super Bowl is Cassel 2.0 vs Cassel 3.0”.

I don't see the Giants beating the 49ers in San Fran.

and I refuse to root for the Patriots.

So why not a Harbaugh Super Bowl with great defenses.

People didn't see the Giants beating the Cowboys either, or the Falcons or the Packers.

A Giants/Baltimore SB rematch would be fun.

Ironically I did....

Thank you Eli for winning my final fantasy league… I do believe that the Giants 49ers game will be close.

I did last week and this week and it paid off thank god.

I’ll be betting on them again next week.

Good Luck...

I wouldn’t mind a Ravens Giants game… LOL

LOL they are not yelling khun
he's in the locker room
they are booing
they are cheering "cruz"
well now they're booing
See ya in San Fran
Perhaps

Rodgers and co should worry more about football and less about state farm commercials

but he gave me a double discount
Yeah.

That’s probably it.

Or draft some oline

and defense

what

U mean a Qb cant win it all by himself….weird

I think all the late injuries to the o-line is what killed Green Bays momentum.

Though they need to do something to get the defense in order. I doubt Woodson has many years left in his legs.

Eating this line alive all day
after Eli takes a knee

he should do the discount double check

State Farm would love that.
The good thing is the Pack are out of the playoffs so maybe we get some Chiefs OC news this week.
I dunno.

After the events of the past week, he may not be ready to pick a new team right away.

Glazer was reporting before the game that he(if we're talking about Clements) is looking for an OC position somewhere.
Brady Manning rematch!

Bring it on!!!!

Yes!

Brady would be so focused for that game… i wonder how intense Brady would be and how hard he would be on his teammates during the pats practices before the superbowl…

Yep I take Brady in that rematch

I respect the Pats because they are a true consistent winner and Brady is a legend

Well I went 3 and 1 against the spread this weekend... Yay me, for not actually gambling
Meh

I went 2-2. Saints didn’t do me justice

the Saints had covered 9 in a row...

The odds of them covering 10 in a row was something like 1 in 500K

Not when the first 9 were already out of the way.

If you flip a coin and come up with heads 9 straight times, tails still only has a 50% chance on the 10th (all else being equal).

What are the odds you'll get heads 8 times in a row then get tails the 9th time?
1/512

But if you already got those 8 heads, then it’s 1/2

Toms gonna be angry next week.

The last time they played Baltimore at home in the playoffs he got bitch slapped.

I think we dont need an elite QB to win a SB

Just a really great defense and a good not great QB and a good duo in the backfield, look the teams in the final four: Ravens, elite defense, good not great QB, good running game; Giants, great defense, great duo in the backfield, altough they have a great QB but they are where they are ’cause their defense; Niners, good not great QB, good running game, great defense; and the exception, the Patriots, Elite QB, not good running game, bad defense.

I believe we are on our way to have a great defense, and i think if we keep Orton, he could be that good not great QB, and our running game is good and could be great with a good big RB
Yep

3 out of the 4 teams have good defenses.

One high powered offense left.

How’s that idea about Franchise QBs being all you need to win working out now? Seems to me that the teams with the best defenses are winning play-off games. Alex Smith and the 49ers proving me right week after week.

Week after week?

They’ve only won one playoff game.

14-3 right.

People think we need to trade away our draft for RG3 because it takes a good QB to win. I’ve been saying improve the o-line and add quality depth and we can win with Cassel/ Orton / Stanzi just like the 49ers are doing with A.Smith. IMHO A.Smith isn’t as good a QB as Cassel or Orton. We can win with a ball control offense and a good defense with Orton or Cassel. I’ll go even further IMO the 49ers will win it all.

Alex Smith was a #1 draft pick who played college ball and has had 8 different coordinators.

Cassel just sucks. Next excuse.

Harbaugh has found Alex Smiths potential. Matt Cassel has found his celiling, before he left New England.

He is rich thanks to, Randy Moss…uh huh

IMO the coaching staff knows what they have with A.Smith and their more or less doing what Weis did with Cassel.

They’re a ball control offense with a very good defense, and A.Smith is nothing more than a Game manager.

I don't even consider A.Smith a good QB.

It’s all about the coaching and the system in San Fran not how great A.Smith is. The 49ers defense and running game is what wins most of the games for them.

Dont know if is better than orton, but it's clearly better than cassel...... i dont see Cassel as a game manager, i see him as a bakcup QBetter than cassel...... i don
sorry thee in the last sentece.....it is: "i see him as a backup QB"
IMO A.Smith is just as much a Back up as either Cassel or Orton.

Yeah I would like a better situation at QB, but IMO Cassel could’ve won that many game at San Fran under that system, which is run the ball, control the clock and play good defense.

Alex smith was a 1st round draft choice who has conquered eight years of different coordinators

He is NOT matt cassel, he is WAY better.

LOL please.

Way better huh, I believe your wrong.

Better this year

Thats all that matters

He's better because of the coaching staff, just like Cassel was with Weis.

Give him a shitty O.C and Coach and he goes right back to where he was, a below average QB.

Cassel wasn't even all that good with Weis

At least Smith shows some ability against good defenses

27 TDs 7 INTs isn't good ok.

Funny how people have forgotten what he did do considering all the changes in scheme and coaching staff.

Couldnt have said it better.
Show me the numbers, im sure im not.
Then next year

It will be two high powered offenses all over again, just the nature of the sport once you think you’ve got it figured out it turns itself on its head.

Cassel hasnt had the same oc ether.

get your facts straight. Its funny how these playoffs are unfolding.

IMO changing coaching staffs year after year is whats setting this team back, Lets just hope we've finally found the right guy for the H.C job and we find a good O.C that sticks.
HOW ABOUT THEM COWBOYS???
I'M CLOSING THIS THREAD, GOOD NIGHT TO ALL
