The Green Bay Packers are now out of the 2012 NFL playoffs after the New York Giants were able to pull off the upset on Sunday night. I actually picked the Giants to beat the Packers -- and got ridiculed for it via email from Packers fans -- and I made that pick because I felt the Giants could come up with a similar game plan as the Kansas City Chiefs.
As you know, the Chiefs were the only other team beat the Packers this year and after that game many people wondered if KC had exposed the blueprint for beating Green Bay.
As it turns out, the Chiefs did do that because the Giants did very similar things as the Chiefs to beat the Packers.

So, in the end, the Chiefs did offer up the blueprint on beating the Packers. Too bad KC had to demonstrate that in the regular season and not the Super Bowl.

We didn't force any turnovers so I feel that our win was that much more impressive.
But the Giants DID force a lot of dropped passes, just like we did. :)

Only because we didn't recover two fumbles
forced by Hali and DJ. However, I m sure it had impact nonetheless.

A lot of those dropped passes weren't forced.
Yesterday, I mean. I felt like the Chiefs pressured their offense much better.

"They gave up nothing deep"
Longest play of the game was a 29 yard run late in the game. Kudos to the Giants and a great game plan.

Rodgers wasn't there to win
he didn’t seem to care that he was there the whole time

Weird, I thought I saw the opposite.
It looked to me like he was killing himself with the game (running for the first down, scrambling to find receivers), but the receivers didn’t look like their heart was there.

Exactly.
How many times did he fight for yardage with his feet?

The Packers offense reverted back to last years form, after basically humming on all cylinders during that streak . The difference is last year they had the #1 defense to offset the boom or bust nature
Last year the packers won in all sorts of ways they beat the jets kicking only 4 fgs etc . This year they became a one dimensional team like the Colts under Manning and got exposed for it .

Watched Rodgers all year
Its not so much that he didnt care, thats been his attitude all year!….Im here to have fun and stay loose! Rather than get all worked and yell at his receivers he simply shrugs it off and goes to the next play!
milwaukeechief - January 16, 2012
I think you meant his wrs wasn't there to win
How many time have we saw Rodgers’ good passes dropped?
angrydeafman - January 16, 2012
You were watching some other game then.
Rogers wanted to win more than most of his teammates.

This.

Hey, Romeo Crennel is a defensive
“genius”. It is little wonder other teams look to the Chiefs win over the Packers for keys to beating them. Our defense is poised on the verge of being very, very good. Let’s hope it continues next year so we will be talking about the Chiefs in next year’s Super Bowl. Of course, we will need to learn how to play offense………………lol.

Should have been 5:1 on the turnover battle.
But at least that botched fumble call didn’t kill the Giants. It probably have made it more of a beatdown though.

It's amazing how often we here about the predictions you get right.
It’d be even more amazing if we heard as often about when you’re wrong.

I can almost never get the “How Are You Feeling About The Chiefs?” poll thing to work. I’ve tried sliding, clicking everything in sight on multiple computers. Is there a trick to it?

I went 4-0 on the weekend.
Thought the Niners was a ballsier pick; this one was pretty easy. My bookie doesn’t like me today.

I wonder what would have happened if KC didn't beat them
If Packers had rolled the Chiefs, what do you think the chances of the Giants winning this big would have been? Personally I don’t think it would have changed the outcome, but interesting to think about.
Tyran - January 16, 2012
Maybe they shouldn't have started an elf at QB?

Interestingly enough, the Giants didn't win the TOP battle like the Chiefs did
I also thought the Giants would win due to:
1. Pack peaking earlier and effort sliding down a bit towards the end of reg season
2. Pack defense gives up big plays
3. Giants coming on strong / peaking and the end of the season
4. Giants openly discussed last week that they reviewed the “blueprint” provided by the Chiefs for beating the pack – play very physical & pressure / contain Rodgers – and they have the D to do it. Disrupt the timing between Rodgers & his receivers and they respond with lots of drops – just like the Chiefs game.
WorL4Chiefs - January 16, 2012
One more - the Giants played the Pack very close in the reg season, so they had even more motivation to win
just needed that extra the Chiefs gave them.
E. Manning & co should send a great big thank you card to 1 Arrowhead. :-D
