There is a strong chance this will be Crennel's final job. It has been an incredible journey for the Lynchburg, Va., native who played offensive and defensive lineman at Western Kentucky. As he begins his second chance, Crennel reflected on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday this week. Crennel was a 20-year-old college student when King was killed.
"It was an emotional time." Crennel said. "As a minority, I was worried about the progress Dr. King made would be stopped because of his death, but the movement kept going and I'm sure he would be very proud of it. You probably noticed this one, but the Chiefs tight ends were among the most highly-penalized players on the team.
Leonard Pope led all Chiefs in individual penalty yardage with nine flags for 79 yards. Jake O'Connell was the fourth-most penalized Chief with seven flags totaling 40 yards in just eight games played. Anthony Becht was flagged once for five yards.
Tight ends were responsible for a total 124 penalty yards last season. By comparison, that amount equals over 38% of their receiving output.

I am going to put my Mock Draft here as well
1. Chase Minnifield CB Virginia- He is a corner that can do it all. You can line him up in the slot, you can blitz him, he can play bump and run and he can play zone coverage. I think drafting a corner like Minnifield will make Chief fan’s forget all about Brandon Carr.
2. Mike Adams OT Ohio State- I am a huge supporter for replacing Barry Richardson, but I am not a fan of Johnathan Martin (Stanford) or Riley Reiff (Iowa) for 3 reasons. Both Martin and Reiff are under 305 lbs, both are LT, and neither of them have played RT. Out of all of the Tackles in this years draft class, I think Mike Adams is the perfect fit for the Chiefs at RT. And besides, I doubt Martin or Rieff will be there when the Chiefs pick.
3. Coby Fleener TE Stanford- The Chiefs need another TE. Leonard Pope and Anthony Becht should never see the field again. With that that being said, I went with Fleener because of his play making ability and size. He could be next years version of Gronkowski, and with a healthy Tony Moeaki, his addition makes the Chiefs offense scary.
4a. Nigel Bradham ILB Florida State- I like Javon Belcher, I think he is a good LB, but I think he could use a little competition to elevate his play. Nigel Bradham is a smart LB with excellent field vision. He could easily come in and win the back up roll at either ILB positions, or beatout Belcher for the starting job.
4b. Dan Herron RB Ohio State- I think he could be the everydown back the Chiefs need to be successfull. On top of that he has very soft hands and he never goes down after the first hit. The only reason I picked him second in this round is because I doubt he will be here when we pick.
5a. Joe Adams WR Arkansas- This guy is a playmaker and a straight up burner. He is also is a dangerous return man as made evident by him winning the SEC special teams player of the year award. With him on the Chiefs offense, the sky is the limit.
5b. Jerry Franklin ILB Arkansas- See Nigel Bradham ILB Florida State.
(In a perfect world, I would pick Herron in the 4th, and Franklin in the 5th, but I doubt that is going to happen.)
6. Josh Oglesby OT Wisconsin- I would not be surprised if the Chiefs Double dip at OT to creat a strong competition for the starting role. Oglesby is big, fast, and one of the reasons Montee Ball was so successful running the ball at Wisconsin.
7. Marvin Jones WR California- I think some new blood in the WR corps will not hurt. It is time to see some new and potentially improved faces at the position.
7. Dajohn Harris DT USC- The Chiefs defense is a few steps away from being an immovable object. If we could land a DT like Harris and add 5-9 lbs of weight to his 6 foot 4 inch frame, we could groom our starting nose tackle of the future.

Hrm. Not bad.
But here’s the thing:
Coffee creamer is a reach at #2. You could easily trade down and pick up some paper towels and maybe some honey roasted peanuts. Meanwhile, milk is a solid #1, and is versatile enough that it could make Coffee Creamer redundant.
I think you could get a lot more value #2 there, imo.

Fair.
But, the Coffee Creamer I was considering was the International House Caramel Macchiato creamer. I think it fills a slightly different role in the dairy line-up, and has interesting skill set that would make it a good rotational and situational player as a back-up to milk.
I’d consider slotting it a little lower on the ‘needs’ list, but I think it still needs to be in there somewhere.

… which is understandable, as it’s rare to find anyone outside of the SEC (and, arguably, the ACC) that’ve adequately developed the position.
I can understand not wanting to ‘ruin’ a pure coffee with complicated recipes, but I think your idea that coffee can’t be good with additives is antiquated and a forumla for disaster.
For example, the Pac-12, and particularly their northern half, really seem to have developed the best dairy/coffee combinations in the country, to the point that others all across the country are trying to emulate what they’ve done or implement a Washinton-style coffee scheme. But, they don’t have anyone coming out in in the grocery draft this week, so I think we have to make-do with what’s available.

As soon as coffee drinkers adapt, they’ll see that it’s just a bad flavor. Sure it’s the fad right now, but in a season or two it’ll be gone to the wayside like Pepsi Clear and Tab.

I think the Washington-style coffee scheme will prove to be a game-changer and, at the very least, I think its been proliferate enough to warrant some consideration.
Sure, eventually everyone adapts and moves on to the next new thing, but even in the NFL some are still playing the ‘Tampa 2’ defense and attempt to emulate elements of ‘West Coast’ offenses.

If you honestly believe that… I bet you’re one of the people that believe Tim Tebow will be a hall of fame QB.
That scheme, much like flavored, sugary, cream filled coffee is nothing but a gimmick. When push comes to shove in the NFL players have to have sound fundamentals, and strong pocket skills FIRST… all the other stuff is fine if it’s an add on to the base scheme, but you can’t count on it as your bread and butter. Look no further than the wildcat offense for proof.
I say again, it’s a waste of a second round pick. We need to be using our #2 slot to pick up fresh roasted whole coffee beans. All the other intangibles amount to nothing if we can’t reliably produce in the basic coffee scheme.

Except that ...
… they always put the refrigerator and dairy sections (often the same section) at the back of the store, so you have to get all of those picks at the same time or else you wind up having to go back and forth.
Also, my draft strategy incorporates hitting the things at the back of the store first and working your way toward the registers. It’s a risk, but it’s worked well in the past.

I don’t think Brady’s going to care or even bother to take note of where Pollard is on every play unless he’s looking for the best place to burn the Raven’s coverage.
“ok, it’s 3rd down and I need a completion here… where’s Pollard, where’s Pollard, wher…. oop, there he is (motions to Welker)… first down comin right up.”
I thought it was funny in the Texans game how Pollard made one good play so they spent 5 minutes talking about how much he has contributed to the D and he’s a great tackler yada yada. Then the following 2-3 plays were all Pollard missing coverage and/or missing a tackle.
There are things I liked about Pollard and things I will miss (punt blocking, hard hitting) but there are plenty of things that I don’t.
