NFL Playoff Schedule Is Officially Set

The NFL playoff field is officially set for both the AFC and NFC. We know the games coming up on Wildcard weekend on Jan. 7 and 8 (this weekend) and what time they'll be played. Here's a glimpse at the schedule with my thoughts included:

Star-divide

Saturday, January 7

Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans, 4:30 p.m., NBC: The Bengals are going to be a dangerous playoff team. They have a good offensive and defensive line and no major weaknesses. I like them a lot. The Texans have lost three in a row and T.J. Yates is banged up. They could be upset in the first round.

Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints, 8 p.m., NBC: Looking forward to this matchup. They could score 100 combined points. Both teams score a lot and both give up a lot of yards. This should be a fun one to watch but the Saints are playing better than anyone in the NFL right now.

Sunday, January 8

Atlanta Falcons at New York Giants, 1 p.m., FOX: The Falcons are a really balanced team and so are the Giants. I'm stumped on this game right now.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos, 4:30 p.m., CBS: Gotta roll with the Steelers here. The Broncos just need to hope they can keep it close and hold the ball with a chance to win. But I don't see that happening.

someone call the NFL office and let them know they forgot to put the Chiefs on the playoff schedule ... AGAIN

1) Steelers 2) Giants 3) Bengals and 4) whichever team has the ball last … ok, ok, Saints in a shootout

this

Only i think the Saints romp. Bengals-Texans might get the lowest ratings ever.

CBS already thought of this

That’s why they requested the Bengals start incorporating gymnastics in their offensive scheming. Spice it up a bit, you know.

nice call!

I hear they have some WR’s who can do things like the Single Over-The-CB Forward Flip … maybe a nice Double With-A-Twist Over The OLine by a RB for a change

Damn depressing...

If we could have just beaten the freaking Raiders last week…I would have really liked our chances of beating a bang-up Steelers team at Arrowhead.

Damn.

I agree Scott

but watching them the last three weeks with RAC, I am proud of the way they came together and played. Even yesterday it was really cool to see the sideline getting up for every good play.

It stinks to watch Denver in and I think we could beat the Steelers right now, but considering what we have been through and who we get back, I think next year will be worth the wait.

Scott, true dat, but had Rivers not lost his mind for a second on Halloween we wouldn't even be discussing it anyway
While I'd have loved to see my Chiefs in the playoffs this year (& actually win 1 or 2)

they’re not quite ready yet….but I have a sneaking suspicion that they’re getting much closer and with a full off-season with a real HC & OC…

2012 is gonna be the year of the Chiefs return to the playoffs…as a team to be reckoned with!

Got to go with the NYG in the only game I can pick right now

Tony G has never won a playoff game and never will.
