Lost amid all the season-ending talk and Black Monday is a tidbit in Sam Mellinger's Monday morning column that a Kansas City Chiefs source tells him Josh McDaniels has not and will not interview for the head coaching job in Kansas City.
But that doesn't mean he won't interview for the Chiefs offensive coordinator job. Maybe. No one right now is reporting that McDaniels will interview with the Chiefs because, well, he's still under contract with the St. Louis Rams.
Steve Spagnuolo and the Rams coaching staff was fired on Monday but McDaniels was not part of that group, Tony Softli of ESPN 101 reports. McDaniels remains under contract.
It's possible (if not likely) a new head coach comes in sends McDaniels packing but for now he's still with the Rams.
So if the Rams don't let him go then he obviously won't be coming to the Chiefs. If they do let him go...well, there are plenty of people who have said they won't be surprised if he ultimately ends up in KC.

Its not unpossible.
John Fox kept Denvers OC because of his relationship with Tebow and Bradford has already come out and said the same about McDaniels so you might see that happen there as well.

Please keep him St. Louis.
If you need a good backup QB, you can trade for Cassel too. Please??

They'd probably allow him to interview.
But they wouldn’t have to.

Keep Josh McDaniels away from Chiefs -- period.
The last thing this team needs is another immature personality after finally purging Haley. Additionally, they would now have to make him Asst. Head Coach/OC, since hiring him away from Rams would require a promotion. Hiring Him as Asst. HC would put him a heartbeat away from Romeo’s job. No thanks and he is not the HC in waiting that 90% of Chiefs could cheer for.

Thank you rams. much like the chargers keeping norv, its appreciated, maybe for different reasons, but still appreciated.
this team needs an oc
id just love it if pioli had to go outside the comfort zone of mcdaniels, there has to be another option. had he lit it up this year and the rams still lost….but my gosh the rams offense was pretty much the only one worse than ours
