We're down to one of our last Fridays with NFL football on the horizon. The AFC and NFC Championship games are on Sunday and then the Super Bowl is two weeks after that. Football is almost over.
And now we're to the victory of the week. Make sure you give us your victory of the week in the comments.
My victory of the week is an easy one - a friend went through surgery on Monday and it was a success. Gotta be happy with that. What's your victory of the week?

VOTW
Well, I found this drunk LSU fan and decided to unzip my pants and….
wait, that wasn’t me.
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
VOTW....
Consumed 2 bottles of single malt scotch and around 12 cigars….still have another bottle to get through tomorrow.
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
u just getting warmed up right
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
ohh...friday nights are nothing
I have my own personal deadlines to work towards….still have to beat skyrim before ME3 comes out!
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
I have a friend 170 hours into that mess and still has barely put a dent into it.
GenericBrand - January 20, 2012
180 hours...level 52
Still have a bunch of side quests to get through and plenty of locations to clear
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
Safe to say you dont have ADD
I understand the drinking and smoking now. ha!
GenericBrand - January 20, 2012
I drink and smoke because I like to
and because it makes me look cool.

kc_okerix - January 20, 2012
Wait a second here.
So your friday night consists of two bottles of single malt, a bunch of good cigars, and skyrim all night?
Go ahead and email me the address, I’ll hop on the next flight outta LAX.
Sudden - January 20, 2012
That was the whole week....
But that would make for a bitchin friday night.
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
That makes more sense. 12 cigars and 2 bottles of single malt in a single night would be quite the challenge for one person
Interesting side note, I find that certain alcohols make great character names on Skyrim. I’m thinking when I give the game a second play through, I’ll create a Altmer named Laphroaig (currently rocking an Imperial name Gulden Draak, such a great belgian beer).
Sudden - January 20, 2012
Not bad idea
I am on my second character named Camacho…a redguard. First character I abandoned at level 12 once i realized how the game worked.
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
President Camacho?
or so named for Camacho cigars?
Sudden - January 20, 2012
Could go either way.
I think the cigars came before the President.
chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012

chiefsandcigars - January 20, 2012
I usually drink rum with my cigars now
ever since Jake at the Occidental Cigar Bar in San Francisco turned me onto it.
Me: what kind of single malts do you have?
Jake: You gonna smoke a cigar?
Me: Uh yeah. duh – this is a cigar bar
Jake: Lemme ask you a question – do they grow any tobacco in Scotland
Me: Uh. no.
Jake: Where’s the best cigar leaf grown?
Me: Cuba?
Jake: Right. do they may any scotch there?
Me: I doubt it
Jake: What is the primary achohol in Cuba?
Me: Rum?
Jake: Right – why don’t try some Rum tonite then?
he set me up with 4 different shots and I’ve hooked ever since. I like the sweetness of Pyrat XO Reserve, and at $35 a bottle it’s way cheaper than Macallan Scotch.
R8R H8R - January 20, 2012
Ha!
I rum is nice with a good cigar. But I do love my scotch!
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
That is still an impressive week.
chiefsandcigars is definitely more manly than me.
I could maybe pull that off if I was on vacation for the week, and the moon was full, but I’d really have to man up. I know I’d crater if I had to go into the work every morning.

What if RGIII rips up the offseason workouts and the Colts pick him first overall?
Could they possibly pass up on Luck and Manning in the same year?
GenericBrand - January 20, 2012
No way
They tanked the whole season for Luck
ArrowheadHunter - January 20, 2012
Who did?
The GM who was fired? The head coach who was fired? Or all the players who were all trying to keep their jobs and/or play for their next contract?
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Yes :)
MNchiefsfan - January 21, 2012
Really?
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
There was no tanking.
They were just bad and didn’t have the coaching or talent to overcome their Manninglessness.

Did anyone else see the Fox Sports news on Peyton Manning's allegedly retiring?
of course the source was a tweet from Rob Lowe, of all people. It seems more likely to me that this is a “Farve retirement” so he can walk from the Colts and play somewhere else next year.

Last night I participated in a wings eating contest at a local bar. I was asked by the local radio station hosting the event just the day before if I would be interested in entering. I had no clue what I was getting into and had no prior experience in “competitive” eating. I ended up winning the entire competition. If I knew how to post photos I would post one of me and my face covered in wing sauce.

Well my pops went under surgery this morning...
He tore his rotator cuff last month and they just now are getting this all done. In the process they a.) tore his bicep tendon losing the tendon into his arm, or b.) the bicep tendon was already torn when he fell.
Anyways he got out of surgery at 12:30 your time, and seems to be doing alright… This is the second time that he has had this done(opposite shoulder, and bicep) in the past couple years.

VOTW - Just eFiled my 2011 Taxes
All of the college financial aid stuff for my college bound daughter is due this month and they all require tax return info. The good news is I’m done; the better news is we’re getting a little money back; the best news is we’re also done the the 18 page financial aid forms (in really poorly written html I might add – they really need to hire some code slingers to clean up the mess).
I can’t compete with chiefsandcigars – only half a bottle of cabernet and a mini-macanudo to get me through the Fed and State returns (it’s raining cats and dogs out & I’m married so don’t get to smoke inside).

Did I mention RT
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012

Buck'O - January 20, 2012
i hope u are wrong
orton my guess unless manning gets released and is healthy
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
I hope I'm wrong too
Orton would actually make me mildly happy. I could care less about RG3 because it’s never gonna happen. Peyton Manning would straight up give me chubb.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
i don't think the colts will pay the 28 mill to manning
i think he gets released and comes to kc possiblly if healthy
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
He won't come here
He would only go to a winner. Which has not described us for awhile. Harsh, but that’s my gut feeling.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
I disagree with that
We’re close. Damn close. He could be the difference. Only going to a winner is gonna price him out of the market because most winners are already set at QB.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
I really would love to see him.
But I just don’t see it. Unless he thinks Romeo can produce with what he has. I know we have weapons on offense for him to play with, but I think Peyton would want to see the whole picture. I know we are close, as a fan, but I am not sure Peyton would see us that way. Remember the Eli draft thing? Who knows what the manning clan thinks of the chiefs.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Why not?
As far as the whole picture goes, we have a really nice up and coming defense. On offense, we have some great weapons for him to work with. Plus we have money to pay him appropriately. It’s not like the entire thing would be on him. I’d think that would be pretty damn sexy.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
I don't know
I just can’t see it. Maybe I am just too pessimistic. I remember the whole Eli situation, and I got the feeling that Archie. And the family have a lot to do with what happens in that clan. I can’t say exactly why I think feel like this. But I just can’t see him coming. Plus, Peyton only runs one offense, the old Minnesota gophers offense, slash bills offense. Who’s to say that our personnel fits what he thinks he would need to run that offense. And who’s to say the chiefs want to run that offense. Don’t know just saying.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
If a team has "the whole picture"
then they won’t be needing Peyton Manning.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
I only see double at this point
Which picture are we talking about.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Presumably, he will only go to a great team.
Or at least that’s the theory being proffered above.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
I don't even know about great,
But certainly a short term turnaround.and one willing to cater to his wishes. I guess I am just not sure we are that team with what pioli is cooking.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Chiefs were in the playoffs last year.
And were one game away from the playoffs this year, despite absolutely terrible QB play most of the year. And that was with some of their best players injured for the year.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
and a serious coaching fiasco
I’m telling you, this team is close!
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
Even without Manning.
If they get a good OC, they’re set up for a nice run next year. I’m certainly not obsessed with Manning. I’d be happy with Orton.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
me too
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
This OC situation is getting annoying
Even manning couldnt succeed with a new OC ever year.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
At least there's a good excuse this year.
New head coach and all. Hopefully Romeo will get someone who will stick around for awhile.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
This
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
peyton knows all about romeo crennal
i think they both would work good with each other
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012

Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
exactly
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
we could use some.......
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
agreed
I’m hoping we start seeing internal succession plans on the coaching staff a-la Pittsburg. We need serious stability on both sided of the ball.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
Haley talked a lot about that.
Developing your own coaches, so you can promote from within. Unfortunately, he wasn’t the guy to see it through.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
yeah well
the GM needs to be the one talking like that IMO
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
Except
most head coaches hire their own staffs. It should be encouraged by the GM, though.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
The Chiefs won a year ago.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
It's a tough call
if they bail on him, then he has physical problems and that sucks. If he can go, I don’t see why KC wouldn’t be a good place for him considering other teams out there in need of a good QB.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
the chiefs as u know are a good qb away from a super bowl run
manning will strongly consider kc. How great would it be to have an offense that can win games as well as DE that can shut down or limit teams on offense.
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
and don't forget
the Chiefs have money to burn
Buck'O - January 20, 2012

Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
big dan salueamulia
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
Ahhh
Those were the days, hnt been the same since
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
big dan drove a cement truck before kc signed him
he was out of football for awhile
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
Now I envy you
Thst game was awesome. I remember thinking, I should root for this team, they win games when they really should not. Montana was the key.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
montana went 80 yards in about 1.48 seconds on the clock to win it
montana just dinked and dunked all the way down the field.
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
I get all excited just thinking about it
Kinda like when I used to climb the rope in gym class.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Ha!
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Remember
Keith Cash catching that touchdown and spiking the ball in the face of that buddy ryan banner? Glorious!
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
beautiful
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
don't forget marcus allen to ice it
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
And incense and such
The was THE MAN, Elway be damned!
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
I still have my Hail To The Chief t-shirt
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
these are the situation clark understands money return on investment
sign peyton take 4 brinks trucks to the bank or don’t get manning and take 2 brinks trucks to the bank
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
If the chiefs got manning don't u think bowe would want to come back to kc
bowe would have a legit qb to get him the ball. all thought orton i think will do a decent job.
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
Hells yes!
I think if Orton came back that would be enough for Bowe.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
Not to ruin the fun but
it be funny if we picked up Manning the day after Bowe signed with another team.
brinkdaddy - January 20, 2012
That would be about average
For this franchise
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Haha
cold blooded. There’d be a whole lot of shit talkin’ around here.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
Peyton
would probably make Colbert look like a Pro Bowler.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
How nice would it be to see the chiefs up 21 to start the 4th quarter
instead of having your heart in your stomach every week in the 4th quarter; Manning brings fire power to the offense. Instead of relying on the de to win the offense can win games by themselves.
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
It would be nice...
to win more then 3 playoff games in the next 42 years! :-/
Jason Drue Keith - January 20, 2012
yeah i know we got some chief fans who probably never have seen one playoff win
that is truely sad and an embarrassment.
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
I still can't understand...
why we only have 3? Montana with 2 and DeBerg with 1! Everyone else has been shut out of playoff wins since SB 4! You are correct! TRULY Sad!
Jason Drue Keith - January 20, 2012
35 mill the colts wil pay to keep manning
i will be shocked if they keep him
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
damn that's a lot of cheese
sorta makes you feel sorry for Luck. Can you imagine following that act?
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
yeah that much cheese for the same position with luck which will be about 15 mill payout for luck
niageriannit1 - January 20, 2012
Manning will be released before March 8th.
saskwatch - January 20, 2012
Watching DIY network
Just love that channel. Mike Holmes is the man!
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Holmes on Homes
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Serious man crush
I have to say. He knows his shit.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
He's on HGTV too.
But he’s better on DIY.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
When I grow up
I too want to spray foam everything in sight
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Ha!
That stuff is pretty cool.
You ever watch Food Network?
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Nope
I am already overweight. That would be like feed a crack addiction
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Reminds me of a new show called Fat Chefs.
(I think) it’s like a weight-loss program for obese chiefs. In the promo, one of them says something to that effect, about being around their addiction all the time.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Paula Deen annoys me
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Not really familiar with her.
I like that show called Restaurant Impossible.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
nebraska furniture mart commercial
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Is that who his crew works for?
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
could be
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
What did you mean?
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
I'm confused
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
ok
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
I give up.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
lol
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
Chandler Harnish

saints_chiefsfan1979 - January 21, 2012
would you throw a turkey at her if she gave you one?
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
yes
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
My bad.
I guess it was a ham
Buck'O - January 20, 2012

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST01bZJPuE0
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Haha. I remember that episode
Jesus H. Look at their clothes. Makes me feel old.
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
I know the feeling
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
"Make it right!"
Does he do football??..
Wichita Chief - January 20, 2012
I'll be he would make a great gm.
We would have over production at all positions. Four support beams in each desk, etc…..
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
He would probably spend money too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
No, DIY would be spending the money!
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
I was thinking...
Warren Buffett
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
George Soros
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
I always wonder where the money comes from on that show.x
As much as he spends, it cant all come from the network can it?
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
The homeowners pay for a lot of it.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Wow
His spray foam bill alone would kill me.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
I'll bet a lot of those guys do free labor.
So they just have to pay for materials.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Man I hope so
What else is there to do in Canada.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Did you see
the house he did in the L.A. area? Had to have all kinds of extra stuff put in for earthquakes. Looked like the added cost would be enormous.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
I have not yet.
I am still working through all the episodes. But the man is the man, there’s no denying. But my grandpa would think he was extravagant. But then again, grandpa would not spend money at all, depression era child and all.
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
He'd replace all the grass in Arrowhead
With turf and all the blades facing the same direction. Or a really nice tile job!
Wichita Chief - January 20, 2012
All seats would have built-in heating.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
But only with the orange stuff underneath it
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
And really good drainage
Wichita Chief - January 20, 2012
Glue it and screw it!
Be_The_Ball - January 20, 2012
Watching some youtube on the big screen
Thanks x-box live app :)
Chiefsfan85 - January 20, 2012
Its about time.
Discovery channel has finally come out with the “worlds toughest truckers”. I was getting so sick of those Ice Road Pussies.
Idahochief - January 20, 2012
Heh.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
I may have to watch NFL pundit Rob Lowe
in the new Drew Peterson movie tomorrow.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Could he be much worse that Dierdork?
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Not even.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Aikman?
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Not even.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
How about..........
Aikman and Dierdork together?
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
I'm confused
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
Not as much as I am..........
LadyChief - January 20, 2012
ok
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
ok
LadyChief - January 20, 2012

Buck'O - January 20, 2012

Buck'O - January 20, 2012

LadyChief - January 20, 2012
Heh.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
turnabout's fair play
Buck'O - January 20, 2012
With Simms
Wichita Chief - January 20, 2012
Simms used to be my favorite.
He’s been annoying lately, though.
Tarkus - January 20, 2012
If we got Manning..
Indy got Luck…In a playoff game at Arrowhead…All offense. They win in a shootout. I might hang myself……
Wichita Chief - January 20, 2012
No way Indy makes the playoffs with luck
Manning was their only weapon
ArrowheadHunter - January 21, 2012
you are joking right?
Remember this Chandoler Harnish. Could be a steal in the 5th round
