We continue on in the Kansas City Chiefs off season and you want to know what is keeping me entertained - Breaking Bad. I got Apple TV for Christmas and you know what? They were more than willing to sell me the fourth season of Breaking Bad quickly and easily for what I guess is a fair price. Since early December, I've watched the first three seasons of Breaking Bad on Netflix (via Apple TV) and like I said before, I'm onto the fourth episode of the fourth season now. It's arguably my favorite TV show of the last five years.
Box cutters now have an entirely new association to me.
This is your open thread for the night. Use it to talk about Breaking Bad, or whatever else you want.
P.S. If you don't have your birthday date public on Facebook, nobody remembers!

Breaking Bad
Anyone know when season 4 is going to be released on DVD?
ExRoyalsFan - January 23, 2012
usually a month or two before the season starts
PSUkegreen - January 23, 2012
Better To Order It On iTunes
More portable, you can make backup copies and you don’t have to find somewhere to put a physical product. Plus you can usually get it as the series is playing instead of waiting a year.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
And
Breaking Bad Season 4 is available there now.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Best to buy it on Amazon. Think it’s $5 cheaper and is more portable than iTunes. Plus if you have Amazon Prime you get all of the Sons of Anarchy seasons for free.
JComp11 - January 24, 2012
Walter White
he is one crazy dude
SB IV Champs - January 23, 2012
Breaking Bad is my favorite show as well
Really hope we hire an OC before the Super Bowl.
Crown Chief - January 23, 2012
agree with you on breaking bad
Seen all 4 seasons. Sucks they say the 5th is the last.
Other great TV shows I’ve seen since BB IS sons of anarchy and walking dead. Recommend if you haven’t seen
chiefnation - January 23, 2012 via mobile
SAMCRO>BB
BB is good, but there is always an episode or two each season that bores me to tears, that and walter’s wife really annoys me most of the time.
HazyNirvana - January 23, 2012 via mobile
just finished the
First season. What does samcrow stand for? Either wasn’t paying attention first few ep or they havent said yet. If they say later…then don’t tell me.
chiefnation - January 23, 2012 via mobile
Ah not sure I remember, I caught it all last year while I was deployed, but got back, an unfortunately don’t fx. But if I remember right it’s just the name of the gang, but I definitely might have just missed it as well.
HazyNirvana - January 23, 2012 via mobile
fail
*and don’t have fx
HazyNirvana - January 23, 2012 via mobile
SAMCRO
Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original"
Gordon0311 - January 23, 2012
That what I thought
But I forgot the redwood original part
HazyNirvana - January 23, 2012 via mobile
One more season sounds about right.
It’s my favorite show, but the plot arc has pretty much ran its course.
Tarkus - January 23, 2012
Yes
I’m almost at the point where I’m ready to hop off with it too. I think they probably picked the perfect length for that season.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Correction
Perfect length for that series.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Where the (*#($@* were you on Skitzo's thread?????????

I don't do Skitzo threads.

Dude... you missed out
More one-liners than I’ve seen since the last thread Satch crashed…
MNchiefsfan - January 24, 2012
I Think It's Good They're Stopping At Season Five
One of the biggest problems great shows (and stories) encounter is that the writers have no idea how to end them. They have a great concept, they have great characters, but it ends up being a road to nowhere. Eventually they end up recycling stories or getting stale and then they have some half-assed ending slapped on that just disappoints the fans. By season six or seven of most shows that last that long, the stories are generally dead and they’re just coasting off of reputation. I think Breaking Bad has an excellent ending in mind and it’s clear they’re showing the dehumanization and moral decay of Walter White…season five is where we get to see how it all pays off for him. I’m excited for it because I think it will end up being unexpected and original. Season four’s finale couldn’t have been better.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
exactly
that’s exactly what happened to Lost. Wow, that last season and final episodes were disappointing.
Nicoloco - January 25, 2012
SAMCRO
SB IV Champs - January 23, 2012
That is a great show also
ArrowheadHunter - January 23, 2012
I'm Mixed On It
First season was okay, second season was outstanding, third season drifted a lot and had kind of a ridiculous story arc with the IRA. I haven’t watched season four.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Too overdone to be honest
And it annoys me that they try to make EVERY character redeemable.
Guess what? It’s ok to have a couple of “bad” guys in a a freaking gun running motorcycle gang.
MNchiefsfan - January 24, 2012
Agreed
They’re too sympathetic for a motorcycle gang.
UCrawford - January 24, 2012
Everyone loves breaking bad
Move to Missouri lol
ArrowheadHunter - January 23, 2012
Oh jeez this is the open thread?
And here I thought Skitzo’s post was the open thread for the night.

Watching this near death BBC documentary. Creepy stuff
Chiefshero - January 23, 2012
Did pioli get waters the patriots gig
They knew we were not getting there and Haley would be fired resulting in another rebuilding season. Could it be possible that they let waters go so he could get a shot before retiring? Or was it just coincidence
ArrowheadHunter - January 23, 2012
probably coincidence
waters was probably fired for younger kids
in FA, waters go to the pats and say “yo I used to work for your ex-gm.”
automatic job
Chiefshero - January 23, 2012
He was released
So anyone could have signed him…
ExRoyalsFan - January 23, 2012
connections=job
Chiefshero - January 23, 2012
I wonder if it was discussed
Never know. At first I thought he was cut due to negotiations during the lockout talks. It still could be the reason but ya never know
ArrowheadHunter - January 23, 2012
I don't think Waters was loking forward to training camp.
His only off season workout was carrying a briefcase to the lockout talks. I also don’t think he was Hunt’s favorite Chief at the time. Plus Asamoah’s time had come. I do believe it was a mutual decision.
electriclight - January 24, 2012
I think it was a common parting of ways
We needed a starting spot open for Asamoah and Lilja fit better in the longterm plans so they let him go find a spot to play where he wanted to play.
GenericBrand - January 23, 2012
Hey Chris didn't Biggie say his orange boxcutters make the world go 'round?
Listen to the man.
Justin Bopp - January 23, 2012
I think he is referring to how Gus uses box cutters
And not to cut up chicken strips
ArrowheadHunter - January 23, 2012
Chiefshero - January 23, 2012
Let's not get this twisted bro!
Friday Night Lights is the best show in the last….history of tv shows!
No comparisons. Its the best written, directed, and acted show ever. ESPECIALLY for a football fan.
I will go out on a limb and say no show will EVER be as good as FNL.
Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose!!!!!

Girls watching a movie I've recently seen
Glorious fucking day in KC. Trees…trimmed professionally but dirt cheap. Squirrel in the attic…in a mother fucking cage. Northland records via Earwax….scooped the fuck up, including a super rare metal track that I already have a buyer for. Always good when big victories come on Monday.

Cant wait for season 2!

It's Starting To Get Stale
I think it jumped the shark after Rita died. Now it’s become somewhat formulaic and I didn’t see them breaking any new ground really.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
How do you top that?
Can’t kill the sister, and she’s the only character more “unkillable” than Rita. So nowhere to go for a shock anymore…
MNchiefsfan - January 24, 2012
Six Seasons and a Movie!!!
kcgiant06 - January 23, 2012
Breaking Bad has been pretty great
The Wire was arguably better. I’m almost ready for it to end, though. I’m gonna miss Gus, one of the best characters. The way they killed him off with him straightening his tie was pretty cheesy. Season 5 you know Hank’s going to finally figure it out. It can’t end well. That and Mike’s going to come back from Mexico and can’t wait to see what happens between him and Walter.
Nicoloco - January 23, 2012
Spoilers man!
kcgiant06 - January 23, 2012
If we're talking about awesome shows
Burn…Notice.
His Royal Greatness - January 23, 2012
They need to get creative again
They were hot and original, but every show is the same now. Time for a twist
nateforchiefs - January 23, 2012
I think that freshness is coming
still, I can’t stop watching. I think I need to go to rehab for that.
His Royal Greatness - January 23, 2012
Rehab isn't to bad
nateforchiefs - January 23, 2012
Don't Knock The Formula Too Much
Basically the client stories are just there to provide distraction from the main story arc. I think they find a good balance. It’s a bit like House, but with a better overall arc.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Plus, I learned how to make a bomb with a microwave
Fun for the whole family!
MNchiefsfan - January 24, 2012
Yes
I watched seasons 1-4 on Netflix. Great show…it can be a little cheesy at times, but Jeffrey Donovan does an excellent job and I like his voiceovers and explanations of the character’s strategy.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Uhmmm...
M.A.S.H.
Has to be one of, if not the greatest of all times.
Zif - January 24, 2012
I've Soured On It Over The Years
Especially after Alan Alda basically ran things…too preachy. And B.J. Hunnicut was one of the worst characters ever. I think Alda really wanted a sidekick who had no ability whatsoever to overshadow him.

Something about image servers/image search. The school district’s filters only allow us to see what THEY want us to see.

Tarkus - January 24, 2012
I guess I gotta check out Breaking Bad
Slackin on shows. Gotta get season 1 of Walking Dead, gotta catch up on Boardwalk Empire season 2, not even gonna try Alcatraz after the bullshit that Fringe put me threw, still waiting on Louie and Wilfred to come back, The Office just sucks now, found out Big Bangs fuckin hilarious, what else am I missing?
KCinIL - January 23, 2012
season one
of walking dead is solid. Season two pretty bad. Never got into the Office. I also like Big Bang.
Nicoloco - January 25, 2012
Sheldon Cooper rocks!
LadyChief - January 23, 2012
"Ohh....snap"
KCinIL - January 23, 2012
I Recently Got Hooked On That Show
Jim Parsons is a master at those one-liners and quips. The person who wrote them has done an amazing job as well.
UCrawford - January 23, 2012
Breaking Bad is one of the best tv shows I have ever seen.
I can’t wait till next season. S.O.A. is pretty fantastic also. And go Chiefs.
kcchief77 - January 23, 2012
You guys need to check out.....
SHERLOCK!!!! It is a BBC production starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. It ABSOLUTELY blows the movies out of the water. They only do 3 episodes a season and they are an hour and a half long with no commercials. The first season is up on Netflix and the second just finished up airing in Britain. You can find it on the torrent sites if you know how to use them. I will tell you that in season 2, episode 3, Andrew Scott, who plays Moriarty, gives a performance on par with Heath Ledger as the Joker. Completely captivating. I don’t think many people in the US know about this series as it airs on PBS in the spring. Do yourself a favor and CHECK SHERLOCK OUT!!! You won’t be disappointed!
chiefs fan 13 - January 24, 2012
Pic at the top makes me think:
So I see the picture at the top of the page and think:
“Oh crap, it seems they have new security outside of the Chief’s practice field.”
