Pretty slow day around here....
Jeff Fisher is building quite the staff in St. Louis. After hiring Brian Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator, Fisher hired former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.
I bring this up because I saw an interesting note on CBS Rapid Reports about Williams:
Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams grew up in western Missouri and all of his extended family is still in his hometown of Excelsior Springs, which is near Kansas City. Williams said many family members are Chiefs season ticket holders, but he "looks forward to swaying them in the other direction."
OK, which Chiefs fan is really gonna convert to the Rams? I wouldn't agree with it but I could see the Patriots, Giants or some other front-runner team.
For me, I would obviously never switch allegiances, but I've always had a soft spot for the Bills. Smaller market. Old school tradition like the Chiefs. And they know about blowing it in big games.
(And in related content, Patrick Allen is talking about which divisional teams you definitely don't have a soft spot for.)

I would never, ever, switch allegiances but
it is truly sad that if a lifelong Chiefs fan such as myself wants to see some good offense being played we have to resort to watching other teams. What is up with that?
G.L. - January 24, 2012
I doubt if you'll be seeing that in St. Louis.
Tarkus - January 24, 2012
No, not for a long while.
G.L. - January 24, 2012
I’m not sure I’ll ever stop hating the Seahawks.
JComp11 - January 24, 2012
The Seahawks in the AFC West
Were just kinda…there.
Joel Thorman - January 24, 2012
Seven sacks in a loss, man.
Brsrkr - January 24, 2012
The Seahawks were there, but their O Line wasn't.
TRSChief - January 24, 2012
I rooted for the Rams in the SB in 99 and 01
I don’t see a problem rooting for the Rams when KC is down. Then again, the Rams are in much worse shape than KC right now
saints_chiefsfan1979 - January 24, 2012
Boo hiss!
The lambs created half a state worth of bandwagon fans with that sb win. Fuckem
TheScootness - January 24, 2012
this aint CA
I can understand Buffalo fans not liking the Giants. Or Raider fans not rooting for the 49ers. But, were talking about a small market here. I think it’s stupid to hate the Rams just my opinion
saints_chiefsfan1979 - January 26, 2012
Nope, before they came along all of MO was united as Chiefs fans
It’s understandable for STL natives to be happy when a team showed up but most everyone hated them and refused to claim them when they first got here because they were so awful. Then when they got good all the sudden people jumped out of the woodwork to proclaim themselves lambs fans and gave up on the Chiefs.
STL is good for baseball. Lambs fans are fairweather for the most part. It’s ok, their franchise is leaving anyway.
TheScootness - January 26, 2012
I'm not a Ram fan
But, I liked those Kurt Warner teams and rooted for them in the SB, that’s it. It’s dumb to root for the titans over a cross state team IMO
saints_chiefsfan1979 - January 26, 2012
So they went middle of the road coaches across the board
KingChief - January 24, 2012
And I could never cheer for the Rams
KingChief - January 24, 2012
+/- .500
Tarkus - January 24, 2012
You mean like KC did?
/not saying, just saying
//RAC record 26-41, 1 winning season
HIV 2 Elway - January 24, 2012
Nobody succeeds in Cleveland though
Marty was the last coach to do so
KingChief - January 24, 2012
Yeah and Houston/Tennesse were just stacking championships before and after Fischer
HIV 2 Elway - January 24, 2012
Montana says you're welcome.
Brsrkr - January 24, 2012
Pretty much.
I for one am not that impressed with the hire of Fisher, Schottenheimer or Williams. Whole bunch of blah.
F250 - January 24, 2012
Chiefs are #1 but there are a lot of teams I pull for
Too much NFL action not to pay attention to the rest. Still love the Browns
HIV 2 Elway - January 24, 2012
Just a glutton for punishment, eh?
bossmanham - January 24, 2012
As long as the Chiefs are in KC...I'll never give up that loyalty.
Scott B. - January 24, 2012
If I haven't dumped the Chiefs after forty-something years
I’m not going to now.
Tarkus - January 24, 2012
I'm a bandwagon fan, jumped on in the mid 90's
Maybe if Jacksonville moves to Calgary, I’d have an excuse to jump off, just to watch the Chiefs win the Superbowl the next year.
craig in calgary - January 24, 2012
My 2nd fave team:
Packers from mid 90’s – 2007
Jets in 2008
Vikings in 2009-2010
craig in calgary - January 24, 2012
A Farve faithful huh
KingChief - January 24, 2012
Yep
I have a fathead of the Jen Sterger cellphone pic in my basement.
craig in calgary - January 24, 2012
Literally a fathead huh?
nateforchiefs - January 24, 2012
My second-favorite team is the Steelers.
It’s the identity thing. They’ve always been the same kind of team as long as I can remember, and I like that identity.
Brsrkr - January 24, 2012
They can pull my Chiefs fandom from my cold, dead hands.
I’m waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too stubborn to give up on my Chiefs just because they’re not very good.
TRSChief - January 24, 2012
I always thought Dungy and Manning were a class act combo, and so the Colts have kind of been my default #2 over the last several years.
But now’s probably a good time to re-evaluate that stance. Dungy’s been gone for quite awhile now and Manning is almost certainly not going to be on the roster next year, either.
MtHammer - January 24, 2012
Its more which teams to a cheer against....
Vikings
Denver
Colts
Pittsburgh
Pats
Miami
Cowboys
Rams
Giants
All those teams can go to Hell
HIV 2 Elway - January 24, 2012
Vikings?
Brsrkr - January 24, 2012
They still smell of the stinch left behind by Favre.
Tarkus - January 24, 2012
Never
Grew up loving the Falcons (my last name) and the Buccaneers (who couldn’t love the creamcicles), but I bleed Chiefs red through and through since the early 90s. There is nothing that would make me switch to another team
RememberDelaney37 - January 24, 2012 via mobile
What if they moved to LA?
Brsrkr - January 24, 2012
I would still pull for them, until we established another team here in KC
RememberDelaney37 - January 24, 2012 via mobile
At least the Rams have won a Super Bowl in the last...
40 years.
5280ChiefsFan - January 24, 2012
dont care for other
teams at all but do like to see certain players on other teams be successful just not against my team.
wwJamaalCharlesdo - January 24, 2012
Based on management decisions, the Rams will be the more successful team over
the next several years, and this is coming from a 40+ year Chief’s fan.
jcox31mc - January 24, 2012
wow cant disagree more. seriously? thats unbelievable to me.
there is too much talent on this chiefs team, that was just all signed to long term deals, to not be successful in the coming years.
and that is from someone who still takes todd haley’s side but recognizes that it was toxic. management had the team ready this past season to win the division. period. players were there, finished 1 game out despite what, 3 massive injuries?
this team is on the rise, the same cannot be said for the rams.
SDChief - January 24, 2012
What management decisions, specifically?
Tarkus - January 24, 2012
We'll see. I hope I'm wrong but no matter what kind of talent a team has, the
biggest difference makers are the QB and HC. KC is at best a D and a C.
jcox31mc - January 24, 2012
I do agree on the D and the C. I think the C may be too low but we will soon see.

Joel, the Bills??
Come on man. I hate the Bills . ‘93 season, Montana’s 1st season with the Chiefs. We make it to divisional payoffs. One win and we’re in the Superbowl, and the Bills defense knocks Montana out with a CONCUSSION, in goes Dave Krieg. We loose.
I truly think the entire Chiefs Nation cursed the Bills. They’ve sucked ever since!!!
Never underestimated the power of the Chiefs’ Nation. That was the one of only two times I rooted for the NFC in the Superbowl: Cowboys over the Bills (loss number #4) and 2002 Tampa Bay over the Fahders.
DanielKCh - January 24, 2012
I hated the Bills because they kept screwing up the Superbowl
and keeping deserving AFC teams, like the Chiefs, from getting there.
Brsrkr - January 24, 2012
They will switch when they win more than the Chiefs
Rams go to the NFC champ game = new bandwagon fans.
Ren - January 24, 2012
Never! I bleed RED!
Oh, wait…well, you get the point.
Anyhoo, if Chiefs are out of it, my “second” favorite would have to be whoever Tom Brady plays for. I have been following this guy’s career since the U of M days and I especially remember how excited Brady was after his first Super Bowl win and Bledsoe’s realization that Brady was the man from there on. (2:52 mark)
Can’t wait to see if Brady will get his revenge for the last time!
angrydeafman - January 24, 2012
Agreed I bleed Chiefs RED.
I will never root for Denver, Oakland, or SD to win anything-ever ever.
In the AFC I will root for Buffalo, Houston, Tennesee and Tom Brady,
In the NFC I will root for the NY Giants, Chicago, SF, and Drew Brees.
NFL season ticket holder - January 24, 2012
When they aren't playing the chiefs...
Lions and Browns.
In “big” games, Saints and Packers…
OhioChiefsFan - January 25, 2012
Could never convert or jump ship so long as they are in KC
I’ve learned to like the Falcons by proximity of our new location in the last three years. I also had respect for the Texans this year and how well put together they were after suffering some serious injuries to their team. Other than that, I have a tendency to enjoy certain players on other teams but not the team itself because of who’s on my fantasy roster…but I always hate having to put an AFC rival on my team (Run DMC). I feel dirty.
