USA Today released their All-Joe team, named after former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Joe Phillips, which recognizes the guys who don't get a lot of recognition.
Landing on the list for the Chiefs is CB Brandon Flowers. USA Today writes: "With 70 pass break-ups and 13 picks in four seasons, he's also going places ... like Honolulu in the near future."
In 2008, Dwayne Bowe made the list as did Matt Cassel (when he was in New England). Also making the list that year was then-rookie Brandon Carr. Seems USA Today knows good football players when they see them.
In 2009, Tamba Hali made the list after his transition from 4-3 defensive end to 3-4 outside linebacker. Also on the list that year was Bernard Pollard, who was released by the Chiefs prior to that season.
In 2010, Ryan Lilja made the list as did former Chief Wade Smith (remember him?). Derrick Johnson also made the list that year.

It does seem as if they somewhat know their stuff
At least as far as the Chiefs go

Fact:
Brandon Flowers, desite constant AP speculation to the contrary, is a better CB than Brandon Carr.
That ought to get things started :)
MNchiefsfan - January 27, 2012
you've done it now, man
upamtn - January 27, 2012
Wrong.
Brandon Carr, per the article itself, made the team as a rookie. Using this algorithm, he has been as good as Flowers is now, for many years. So, under said formula, Carr has been the best corner on the team since day one, Flowers should be cut with Sabby being brought back and thrown into his spot.

he IS ranked Top Ten in a couple of statistical categories (Carr)
I love worms!
upamtn - January 27, 2012
I'm not judging this based off the making of this team
Did I suggest I was?
MNchiefsfan - January 27, 2012
Messing around
Took what you started, and finished it with Sabby playing CB opposite Carr.
severn58 - January 27, 2012
Nice
I wasn’t sure. I thought it might look that way, given how I said it :)
MNchiefsfan - January 27, 2012
Nope, I knew what you meant
I know a conversation starter when I see one..
Mcgraw sucks, and McReach is fumble prone, discuss.
/Don’t actually discuss.

Haha exactly. Rec'd

WHAT???
Flowers and Carr both drafted the same year, and both landed starting positions at the same time. If I’m remembering right, the following year, the entire secondary was 1st and 2nd year players: Flowers, Carr, Paige, and Pollard. As for who was quickest out of the gate – it was Flowers. After his second year, Carr was the subject of many comments on this site about how bad he was. His 3rd year was his break-out year. Now he’s the talk of the town.

Flowers gets put up against the #1 and Carr gets put up against the #2’s. Just saying…
Love them both and hope they are part of the Chiefs future for years to come.

shouldn't there be an All Brandon team? we're getting there anyway ...
wtg Mr Flowers and duly propped
upamtn - January 27, 2012

Took awhile for DJ to finally blossom
hopefully with a consistent FS and SS behind him, it will cut down on the number of TD’s he gave up this year

What's up with Brandon Carr's Tweet? Did he sign????!!!
WoodyardBBQ - January 27, 2012
what'd he say this time?
upamtn - January 27, 2012
just something about hard work and perseverance paying off
Could be that he signed, could be just a random motivational charge to his followers.
Probably will find out later today.

DanielH123 - January 27, 2012
Could just be talking philosophy.
Tarkus - January 27, 2012
yeah, Carr the Philosopher
upamtn - January 27, 2012
Maybe he’s just saying that he’s got to have a little more patience before he gets his fat contract.
JComp11 - January 27, 2012
Pretty much...in the grand scheme of things, it could mean almost anything.
I really hope we get a front page story soon about him getting paid though.
DanielH123 - January 27, 2012
Hmm, probably just gnus.

Wasn't BFlo recognized approx. 50 million times?
ArrowDread - January 27, 2012
Time to give Carr his own 50 million 'recognitions'
ArrowDread - January 27, 2012
I think so ... that IS a lot of recognition
upamtn - January 27, 2012
Another snub for Branden Albert
KingChief - January 27, 2012
Eric Berry will be next
How many Million will they give him maybe 65,000,000.00
antony555 - January 27, 2012
Rg3 will be given what Bradford was given
St louis will work on their lines this draft, amost seems as if these teams lose to be first in the draft 2 to 3 years and with FA, and the right coach, they become young and are good until the older players start slowing down then they start losing again and draft 1 round and 2nd round again its a mad cycle
Look what detroit and the 49ners did all though years of losing and all the sudden one two years and they complete for the super bowl funny aint it !!
antony555 - January 27, 2012
I think Kendrick Lewis should of made the all- joe team too.
