The
Chicago Bears officially announced the addition of Phil Emery as their new general manager. Emery of course is coming from the
Kansas City Chiefs where he spent the last three years as the director of college scouting.
Emery took the podium just after 2:00 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) this afternoon and introduced himself to the Bears fans and talked briefly about his rise to general manager. And in that intro thanking those who helped him along the way he mentioned the Chiefs GM, Scott Pioli.
Scott Pioli, who without question is one of the finest leaders that I've ever been around. Knowing what's right for the group and doing the right thing for the group and being a good teammate are the things I've taken from Scott.
Emery's exit means the Chiefs have to hire someone new. The draft is in just a few months so I wonder how the Chiefs will handle his departure.
Reading between the lines.
It’s obvious that he thinks Pioli is the worst boss ever, and creates a toxic environment at 1 Arrowhead Drive.

Obviously a rat leaving a sinking ship.

Hows about
We bring back Haley to fill Emery’s position haha!
I wanna see Haley wondering the halls looking for cameras and recording devices.
Yes Todd, you are on the Truman Show!

I'd rather bring back Herm for that.
Brsrkr - January 30, 2012
Honestly
I would love to have Herm back in some capacity. He is a very likable guy with lots of wit and energy.
As long as he stays as position coach or personell side.

Yeah, I was being serious.
He’s been a good talent evaluator, at least for DBs, and I think he’d be great to have around just as a supportive/tough love voice to anybody who’s struggling. But I doubt he wants to leave TV. He gets to talk and show off his socks.
Brsrkr - January 30, 2012
Haha
True true!

Promoting from within most likely
I dont know too much about the scouts on the inside. Hopefully it was pioli behind the Lewis, Asamoah, moeaki, etc. picks than Emery and we can move forward without any issues.

hate that another team now knows a lot about our draft/potential draft board.
doh.
SDChief - January 30, 2012
But that goes both ways.
Brsrkr - January 30, 2012
how so?
we learn about the bears? i dont see that
SDChief - January 30, 2012
Their GM is our old scouting director, so their new scouting process is the same one we've used the last three years.
Brsrkr - January 30, 2012
Peyton Manning retires
Becomes Chiefs new OC.
I’d take it.
Nathan4288 - January 30, 2012
but what I learned most from Scott that I hope to bring to the Bears organization
are my skills in espionage.
Chief Willie Wildcat - January 30, 2012
And cleanliness.
Tarkus - January 30, 2012
We're probably sending him as an infiltrator.
By the start of next season we’ll have all the Bears’ draft picks, Urlacher, Peppers, and Devin Hester. Mwahahaha.
Tomahawk29 - January 30, 2012
He wouldn't be very useful to us this year anyway
When we trade the farm for RGIII
