Kansas City Chiefs Final Grade For The 2011 Season

The Kansas City Chiefs season is over and we ran a poll a couple days ago asking everyone to grade the Chiefs 2011-12 season. The results are in and they're about what we expected -- most people say the Chiefs deserve a C.

Out of over 1,100 votes, 54 percent, a majority, said the Chiefs season grade is a C. The final votes look like this:

  • A: 0%
  • B: 8%
  • C: 54%
  • D: 33%
  • F: 3%

I think a C is the best place to put them. The season certainly didn't go the way we thought it would with a few losing streaks and a big winning streak but at the beginning of the season I thought the Chiefs would be somewhere between 7-9 wins and that's where they ended up.

The irony is that 7-9 was about the average predicted record, but

because of the injuries, we’ll never know if this was a Super Bowl bound year for the Chiefs. 7-9 with all of the injuries and considering the schedule AND a coaching change is pretty impressive.

Tale of two coaches

Under Haley: F
Under Romeo: B-\C+

I had to give it an F

Haley played games all year, the offseason was terrible, we were again way, way, way, under the salary cap. They let Haley coach way to long. Most of our losses were ridiculously terrible and just flat out embarrassing. Worst of all, we have learned absolutely nothing about our team. We go into this offseason with more questions than we have had in years. We are going to have yet another OC. We are still going to have Cassel.

This was just a completely wasted year.

We saw a little of what the offense looks like with a different type of QB.

Learned some things about our O line there, I think. Not having Charles taught us some more about the O line. Also, the secondary learned a lot and made big strides as the season went on.

True, the defense made strides

I still think our line was terrible though, with or without Charles. Charles could have hid some of the problems but for the most part they are terrible. Barry Richardson needs to be a backup or unemployed next year. If he’s not I may have to Tonya Harding him.

What could we have learned about this team without Haley and is dumb games. i wonder what Cassel could have did if he had routinely gotten the play before the play clock was running out. Funny how we didn’t have any of those problems after Haley left, even with a brand new QB.

I don't think that's very funny at all.

I can’t imagine what Zorn thinks about it after the similar play calling debacle he was part of in Washington.

Yeah, that was sarcastic. I don't really think it was funny at all

It made me hate Haley even more.

Although money dont make me as happy as winning

Ive had a running bet with one of the guys I work with (obviously a Packer fan) Chiefs win,10 bucks for me,Chiefs @#$%^ 10 bucks for him. This year we had 50 on the Packer/Chiefs game so I still come out ahead! All the trash talking I had to listen to bout how bad My CHIEFS were all year, now I dont have to say anything and simply point to the hat Im wearing!!

Winning
bcuz i got tiger blood
barely a "majority" overall ...
  1. C: 54%
  2. D: 33%

between those two you have 87% and a Super Majority and at least have to drop it to a C Minus

the real issue is how will this grade affect the students’ study habits and attention to detail moving forward from this point? further research on this is CLEARLY needed, and I hereby apply for an Arrowhead Pride Grant for appropriate funding on this important issue, so that statistical analysis that is most relevant can be undertaken immediately

3 injuries

from an A……………oh what might have been. Hurry up 2012 and get here!!!!!!

We ended exactly where the pundits said we would...

We just took an assbackwards route to get there. However, if we had been healthy as team, we would have shocked the world… again.

If you dont make the playoffs

the season was a failure….simple as that….you know why teams like, Pitt, NE, the Lakers, Boston, Celtics, Yankees etc….are always in the hunt for a championship?…because they dont settle for anything LESS that winning it all…if they dont win it all, the season was a failure…Chiefs fans, ownership, and staff, all need to get out of the mindset that mediocrity is “good enough”….even when you have players go down, you still find a way to win…steelers motto is “next man up”…..no excuses
