FANSHOT!
damn, Thorman … you can’t even hit the 75 word limit?
Texans, Saints, Steelers, Giants
btw, have you heard? the Chiefs have announced that Romeo Crennel is the Head Coach, it’s on their website and EVERYTHING!
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Great but Now the big question is, who is gonna be the OC/DC for the Chiefs?
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
not sure
but i want romeo to call the D plays next year…he seems to get these guys in good position….as far as OC, just as long as its not MUIR
KCinAZ - January 7, 2012
I'll do it.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
They took that down and said nothing has be announced yet.
PSUkegreen - January 7, 2012
that's insane ... wait, that signpost up ahead ... The Twilight Zone!
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Not sure why this didn't post earlier
Sorry about that folks.
Joel Thorman - January 7, 2012
Fired.
PSUkegreen - January 7, 2012
It's OK Joel
you just need a new coordinator (:
His Royal Greatness - January 7, 2012
No worries.
I just refreshed the home-page a few dozen times looking for it. Anything to help you pay the bills lol
joplin chiefs fan - January 7, 2012
ouch that hurt
KCinAZ - January 7, 2012
Had the Bungles going in.
But rooting for the Texans.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
Let's go saints tonight
Bilk - January 7, 2012 via mobile
And I guess Bungles for this game.
Bilk - January 7, 2012
JJ watt is a monster
ArrowheadHunter - January 7, 2012
I didnt know madonna was still alive
Montana Chief - January 7, 2012 via mobile
yes
everyone who hasn’t died is still still alive
upamtn - January 7, 2012
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh what a pass to a WIDE OPEN Johnson ... Touchdownnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Houston!
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Let's go Dalton...
king of gingers.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
Conan might challenge that
joplin chiefs fan - January 7, 2012
Damn Simpson jumping out of the gym again.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
Off topic sorta
But watching these bad QBs has made me thought.
If we’re to believe the Yahoo report(Mike Silver? or someone can’t remember) that Pioli inquired about trading for Manning this past summer is it impossible to think that he might again if Peyton is in fact not released?
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
if healthy we got a legit shot at getting peyton manning
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
I think we'll be healthy.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
I know most ppl around here don't want Manning
but I would take him for 2 or 3 years in a heart beat
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
I don't know that's true.
I think most people don’t want to trade for him. Signing him as a FA is another matter entirely.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
What if he's not available as a FA and they're willing to go into the season with him?
Is he worth giving up a first rounder? Maybe a 2nd this year and a 1st next?
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
in my mind? not worth it ... not even close
much as I respect the guy, one of THE greatest ever … one hit and he could be toast
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Assuming he's healthy and playing at at least 90+%
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Probably.
I don’t see that happening, though. I think either he’s cut or he stays a Colt.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
and I think most people would trade for him, too
if only we knew he would be healthy. A season-long neck injury is scary stuff. It’s not like we’re talking about an ACL repair or Tommy John surgery where there are dozens of examples of professional athletes who have had the operation and come back 100%.
joplin chiefs fan - January 7, 2012
I assume he would have to pass a physical to make the trade valid.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
True
I’m just saying that the injury he had isn’t all that common. So, even if he passed a physical, there’s no real way we can be sure that Peyton Manning will come in and be able to play like PEYTON MANNING.
joplin chiefs fan - January 7, 2012
As much as he's physically and a good passer
I think his brain and preparation is what really makes him special moreso then his physical ability.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Also true
but if the physical tools aren’t there, he’s better off coaching. All of the great quarterbacks know how to play the game still. Joe Montana and Dan Marino would still be studs if all it took was brain and preparation.
joplin chiefs fan - January 7, 2012
Like the physical he passed before he signed his new contract?
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
then manning coming to kc
montana all over again
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
Montana wasn't coming off neck surgery
upamtn - January 7, 2012
i agree but alot of people said montana was done even with the bad elbow and arm
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
But it would solve our offensive coordinator and QB all at once
ArrowheadHunter - January 7, 2012
What's the limit on what you'd give up for Manning?
Two firsts? A first and Bowe? A first and Dorsey?
Sam D - January 7, 2012
Cassel and Jones.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
I might do that, yeah
upamtn - January 7, 2012
but only if we re-sign Orton ;-)
upamtn - January 7, 2012
I'd give up Dorsey(who they would probably like to have) and a first rounder.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Nothing.
He’s 38 and coming off an injury. I have no problem if he is cut and we go after him, but you are nuts of you think Manning is worth a 1st+
Scaryclouds - January 7, 2012 via mobile
is carson palmer worth a number 1 pick
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
He's not.
That’s why we were all laughing at the Raiders.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
did the raiders give up 2 number one
thats why hue in trouble
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
A 1 and a 2.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
I'm so going to hell for this
<img src=“http:// ”http://i.imgur.com/1nOFz.png" target="_blank">http://i.imgur.com/1nOFz.png"/>
Shanghai_Chiefs - January 7, 2012
really?
LadyChief - January 7, 2012
doesnt look like it worked
My soul is safe.
“and a 1 and a 4 and a ching chong potato… "
Shanghai_Chiefs - January 7, 2012
saved by the link failure ;-)
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Hue Jackson's power tripping didn't do him any favors
Shows how much respect he had for the organization when he went out and traded the farm for an old washed up QB right after the owner’s death
Sam D - January 7, 2012
And then thought he should help select the new GM.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
That was more out of fear for his job.
It’s bittersweet. It makes me laugh because it’s hilarious but it’s disappointing because Hue was/is our best chance at the Raiders remaining irrelevant.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Same here.
Laughing at him, though probably not good for us.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
Here's the funniest part.
It’s reported that it’s in McKenzie’s contract that he has the ability to fire Hue.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
That's a pretty specific clause.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
such power for a mere GM
upamtn - January 7, 2012
if healthy u got to take a run at manning if available
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
this x 10000
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
Manning playing at 90-100% health makes us an instant playoff contender and probably a team that goes far into the playoffs
True or false?
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
absolutely true
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
super bowl potential
the colts are in rebuild mode
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
By this logic
I would trade a 1st rounder and 3-4 legitimate chances at a super bowl run.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
for 3-4*
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
but only if it's guaranteed
and how deep of a run?
upamtn - January 7, 2012
I don't want to sound like a homer
But if he’s healthy we have to instantly be seen as a Super Bowl favorite. Even with a couple holes on the oline. Playing with a lead plays into our strength and when the only guy who has consistently stopped Manning is his new HC, we would be sitting pretty good.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Homer.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
a lot would depend on that ... taking care of our own FA's, filling those OLine holes so Manning has time to throw (and survives) ... our other guys coming back healthy, and a strong draft as well
then, maybe … favorites for division, sure … too easy, but for Super Bowl? nope, sorry
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Hater.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
realist
you keep forgetting
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Why I mentioned the Oline is because he doesn't need it.
Especially with a run game like he’s never had before. He had 3-4 pylons per year on his oline in Indy and, to back your previously unrelated point on another thread, the only ones worth a shit were G/C.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
he doesn't need an OLine? are you nuts?
he’s coming off neck surgery … you want he should die?
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Would he still count against the cap?
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
ups u forgot we talked shields and roaf to come out of retirement
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
He's never had one before.
When everything is based on timing and play action, all he needs is moderate protection. If you have to go to the outside to get to him you aren’t going to get there. Obviously you still upgrade your holes so you don’t pull a Polian and are left with nothing when he retires.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
I'd much rather make a similar trade for RG3
Pans out, gives us the potential for domination for the next decade plus.
Scaryclouds - January 7, 2012 via mobile
Shit, I didn't even realize he was 38
I thought he was 35 for some reason
Sam D - January 7, 2012
Oh, my shitty math
He is 35, turning 36 this year… 12-6 =/= 8
Sam D - January 7, 2012
Joseph is an idiot
Scaryclouds - January 7, 2012 via mobile
cassel and palko okay i throw in jones
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
How would Chiefs Nation feel if we drafted the rare talent of......
Trent Richardson in the 1st round?
Dminkc - January 7, 2012
I would be on Piolis lawn with a pitchfork and torch
Overrated player. Overrated position in the 1st round.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
I'd be right there with you, making sure your aim was good ... you haven't done much pitchfork stabbing lately, need to get in a few reps
upamtn - January 7, 2012
No thanks.
Too high to draft a RB.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
I would be all for it
as long as we found a way to upgrade guard and rt in the draft or free agency
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
I wouldn't hate it, but I'd rather take Decastro if he's available
Richardson’s an effing stud
Sam D - January 7, 2012
And "rare"?
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Rare for this draft maybe.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
I don't know about rare.
He’s good, but far from rare. I wouldn’t even put him in the same realm as 2008/09 fumbling AP. He might be as good as UDFA Arian Foster.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
That's why I said this draft.
He’s certainly not rare in general.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
Good point.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Rare in this class!
He has gone all year w/out a fumble…263 carries! He is durable and always in beast mode. He would be an outstanding compliment to JC!
Dminkc - January 7, 2012
he'd say nice things to JC? probably ...
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Battle would be a nice complement to JC.
Certainly better than 2.0.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
If we're just looking for compliments, remind me again why we're looking in the 1st round?
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
because they get very nice things said about them :-)
upamtn - January 7, 2012
I'm not.
Battle is already on the team.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
Sorry reply fail
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Ball game.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
The Pretender Bowl is officially over.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Foster beast modin'
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
Worst attempt at a tackle ever.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
sabby still playing
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
Really? Of all the people fired on that Eagles team they go with the CBs coach?
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Well so far Foster made 30 points in my fantasy league.
I knew Bengals D was suspect against RB’s and it just took Foster to get open and burn them. kinda bummed out though, i really wish JC didnt tear his ACL, otherwise we probably wouldve won more games and made in the playoffs. Cant wait for JC to reiinstate his domiance in the nfl.
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
ok, I'm 1 for 1 so far ... do I get a cookie? :-)
upamtn - January 7, 2012
You should have plenty of cookies tracking you here.
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
touche!
upamtn - January 7, 2012
talk about defense ... ohhhhhhhhhh my
Wade’s done one helluva job down there in Houston
upamtn - January 7, 2012
As I predicted.
/pat on back
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
you called all 4 last night?
upamtn - January 7, 2012
All four Wade Phillips?
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
oh, this is funny ... first post on last night's Wild Card thread is ... YOU!
let’s see … that first one, is it the Texans? why no, it’s …
upamtn - January 7, 2012
who's the next oc and dc for kc then
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
I have no earthly clue
upamtn - January 7, 2012
i wouldnt mind Emmit Thomas as DC,
but please can KC get a proven OC this time.
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
will get manning and keep muir as oc
then manning can tell muir to get his 3 hour nap in, as manning will say I got this bill i’ll call the plays
niageriannit1 - January 7, 2012
If RAC is HC
Gibbs will be DC. OC is god knows who.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
I just said I don't know
pay attention!
upamtn - January 7, 2012
I meant I predicted Phillips would turn their defense around.
And I predicted them to take their division (even before Manning was ruled out).
Tarkus - January 7, 2012
ahhhhhhhhhhh good man
upamtn - January 7, 2012
And without Super Mario.
Makes me think they franchise him and trade him this offseason because boy did he look all kinds of terrible playing OLB.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Wade=Horrible HC/ Beast DC
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
Texans win a playoff game
wonder what that’s like?
HIT34MAN - January 7, 2012
OK
Too everyone that watched that game. The Texans showed how to get it done, by running the ball and playing good defense. This along with what the 49ers have done is why I believe we can win in the play-offs with Cassel or Orton.
CPT.Caveman - January 7, 2012
Orton yes.
Cassel no.
I trust Orton to bring us back if need be.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 7, 2012
But they have something we dont have,
a good OC and a good o-line. that and they have a franchise QB
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
Matt Schaub a franchise QB?
Really?
KCinIL - January 7, 2012
Alex Smith…wowza….
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
Just shows you what the right type of system and play calling can do for a QB.
Just like last year with Cassel and Weis.
CPT.Caveman - January 7, 2012
Better QB than the what we have. We got Neckbeard and Cassel.
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
That doesn't make em a franchise QB
KCinIL - January 7, 2012
Orton and Schaub are more or less the same guy IMO.
Alex Smith and Cassel could be compared as well.
CPT.Caveman - January 7, 2012
^Good point
LAChief97 - January 7, 2012
That's why we should concentrate on fixing our o-line.
We have the foundation in place for running the ball with J.C, we have a good all around TE, and a good WR core. The defense has really improved this year and should be one of the best units next year. Fix the o-line now and don’t use those high picks to take a chance on a flashy QB.
CPT.Caveman - January 7, 2012
They also played a very young team
If they can do this in the next round then I’m right there with ya
KCinIL - January 7, 2012
I hope they beat the Ravens.
I liked to see a Texans vs 49ers S.B:P
CPT.Caveman - January 7, 2012
I take...the Texans! =)
KCinIL - January 7, 2012
ok, who's the chick singing the intro for the Lions-Saints game?
upamtn - January 7, 2012
You don't know?
LadyChief - January 7, 2012
He probably can't see the screen.
He has a bad case of old.
GenericBrand - January 7, 2012
if I knew ... would I ask?
ummmm not Faith Hill, right?
upamtn - January 7, 2012
Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LadyChief - January 7, 2012
For some reason I find myself wanting to sing the Houston Oilers song:P
CPT.Caveman - January 7, 2012
