The Denver Broncos are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that the Kansas City Chiefs should be hosting but they can't kick a field goal without getting it blocked in the final AFC Wild Card game of the weekend.
The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on CBS.
The story lines in this game are the quarterbacks (as it usually is). The Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger isn't 100 percent as he recovers from an ankle injury but he will start. Tim Tebow could be benched for Brady Quinn at some point, according to various reports.
Should be a good one but I gotta roll with the Steelers.

That didn't come out right
Let me say that highly religious people are the only ones that would vote for the Tebows in this game.
Much better

Ha, I understood
KCinIL - January 8, 2012
Just got home from church, so how is my guy doing?

The AFC Playoffs:
Who wants to lose in the Super Bowl, you guys?
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
Yup
And I don’t see ANYone beating the Saints right now. Packers may even lose to the Giants.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
just depends on the Packers' ability to turn it on
The Saints are hot right now, but let’s not forget they lost to the Rams at one point.
joplin chiefs fan - January 8, 2012
Yup.
Regardless, I’m so much more excited for the remaining three NFC games than I will likely be for the Super Bowl.
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
I'm not giving it to the NFC
Baltimore, New England, Pittsburgh all viable. Even Houston with 5th round T.J. Yates!! :-D
neiowakcfan - January 8, 2012
Look how big Tebow is compared to the Rascal Flats guys...
many times NFL player dont look that big til they are next to an average sized man….

niageriannit1 - January 8, 2012
Heck yeah, keep it close enough

neiowakcfan - January 8, 2012
Fixed.
Only way Denver
winsscores is if Quinn plays.neiowakcfan - January 8, 2012
What the hell is Quinn going to do if he gets in the game?
Besides throw interceptions?
DO you really think he well play well enough to win for the Broncos? Either way the Broncos lose this game IMO.
Is it disconcerting to anyone else that Romeo Crennel traded up (a future first and a second) to get Brady Quinn and was terrible in Cleveland?
Sure the players play hard for Crennel, but how will this team respond after a two or three game losing skid under Crennel?
Chief-blinders-on - January 8, 2012
Romeo is not the Chiefs' GM.
So no, it’s not disconcerting.
Tarkus - January 8, 2012
I just don't like how a lot of us Chiefs fans are completely ignoring the guys past though...
Saying stuff like, “Well the players play hard for him.” or “He led the Chiefs against Green Bay!”
Those are great qualities to have, but it shouldn’t disguise the idea that maybe Crennel’s ceiling is DC and fans are ignoring that because the Chiefs players gave him a cute nick name and they won two of three games..
Chief-blinders-on - January 8, 2012
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
Belichick failed in Cleveland too.
Tarkus - January 8, 2012
That is the exception, not the rule
You know who else failed in Cleveland? Every other coach that has been their pretty much, they didn’t all go on to win championships.
64 year old Romeo Crennel is not the next Bill Belichick or is he?
That is a silly argument, how are Butch Davis, Chris Palmer and Eric Mangini doing after losing in Cleveland brought them to the next level of coaching?
Chief-blinders-on - January 8, 2012
Ballgame! Two field goals!
That should do it!

you gotta send at least one extra rusher any qb no matter how bad can hit the mark if given 8 seconds to throw
Willie Beamon - January 8, 2012
Worked pretty well for us last week.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 8, 2012
we were getting pressure on with 4 forcing him to throw before they could work the deep routes . Tebow has had no problem throwing deep at all this year its throwing into tight spaces on the short routes where hes struggled .
Willie Beamon - January 8, 2012
Out of bounds.
Fell on his ass before his second foot hit.
Tarkus - January 8, 2012
Knee = 2 feet right?
KCinIL - January 8, 2012
Yep
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
one TD by Pitt and my prediction comes true
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Whew.
Steelers DB’s are biting on the run. Gotta watch deep, boys.
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
Maybe they shouldve listened to the interviews with Chiefs defenders
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
watched some tape
Steve_Chiefs - January 8, 2012
The broncos play dead by running the ball
Then chuck it twice for a TD
Mas Cervezas - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Those weren't terrible throws.
Cassel doesn’t make those last two throws very often.
radyman - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Neither does Tebow.
What’s your point?
Tarkus - January 8, 2012
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while?
No point. It was surprise mostly.
radyman - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Point taken.
Tarkus - January 8, 2012
Keep slingin it
KCinIL - January 8, 2012
only took them 22 drives
and that shouldn’t be a TD
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
Irrational tebow hate is no better than irrational tebow love.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012 via mobile
not irrational. thanks though
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
When you call a td not a td, it absolutely is.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012 via mobile
absolutely isn't lol.
That wasn’t a td haha
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
Wow..
Tebow just threw a TD pass, holy mary mother of god….
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
Yup.
She called that one in to the big man upstairs.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 8, 2012
Just eliminate the damn Donks and Tebow!
I would luv to not have to watch another NFL program that mentions Tim Tebow! Damn, just as I say that, he completes a TD pass! Come pn Steelers! Can they imagine the humiliation of losing their Superbowl hopes to a QB, who has no business being a QB in ther NFL? I mean, it actually makes me really appreciate Matt Cassel, when I watch Tebow!
Racyman - January 8, 2012
i hope tebow wins
come on tebow
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012
Nice pass
I wish Tebow was our QB...Vince D - January 8, 2012

That just woke the Steelers up
KCinIL - January 8, 2012
Woke up the stadium
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
People want to see Tebow lose
I, on the other hand , would like to see him win, knock out the Ben “hide your daughter” Rothliesberger, who i cant stand…and…it means the Bronco will have to stick with him for next year….Which mean, KC should have 2 easy wins on the schedule
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
we said that this year and only got one tough win and one loss where they ran all over us
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
that was because WE sucked...i expect KC to get better
Denver will NOT with Tebow at the helm
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Agree....
Hate Rothlisberger. Indifferent to Tebow. Hate “Tebow mania.”
radyman - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Wasn't even the best route... good coverage, poor play on the ball.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
And now the defense is going to be jacked to make some stops.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
I cant believe that was not reviewed and over turned.
That was a college TD, not a NFL TD.
HBKChiefs - January 8, 2012 via mobile

KCinIL - January 8, 2012
The original angle of the play
badassz1987 - January 8, 2012
Maybe i hope its a catch though
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
I do to but they arent gunna call it a catch
badassz1987 - January 8, 2012
Have not seen an angle that shows that
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012

ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012

GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
Nope
KCinIL - January 8, 2012
Not from the angle they showed
Was definitely some juggling, but from the way it gets cradled at the end my assumption is that even if it did touch the ground, it didn’t affect the possession.

Kool TA - January 8, 2012

KC Nate - January 8, 2012
wow. this game is fixed for Tebow.
There was no clear evidence to overturn that catch.
HBKChiefs - January 8, 2012 via mobile
How was that incomplete? Did it touch the ground and I missed it?
Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
That's just the thing
there was no clear angle or camera view showing it touching the ground. Refs just pulled one out their ass.
KC Nate - January 8, 2012

Willie Beamon - January 8, 2012
They're on their heels
Tebow is completing passes, and they’re dialing them up. They have no idea what to expect at this point. Throw in the running dynamic of Tebow, and you’ve got something very dangerous if he can continue to complete passes.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
youve got to bring some pressure they shut down the run and got complacent the key is to stop the run and make every pass decision have to be a quick one

but yet Tebow beat us in KC already and barely fought out a tough win in Denver.

With the lack of high-powered offenses in our division
I’m calling it now…Chiefs will have a top three defense next year.
joplin chiefs fan - January 8, 2012
I've heard this for years now.
We don’t even have an above average defense statistically. 40 points to the Jets, Bills and Dophins?
craig in calgary - January 8, 2012
The difference between those games and future games?
Haley. Didn’t have our team prepared for a lot of games this year
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
Well, you see, in football field position is really important.
When Palko is giving the other team pick 6’s and good field position, you tend to give up a lot of points. On a per-play basis we allow fewer yards than average.
wustl_chiefs_fan - January 8, 2012
That's without Berry
There are some qualifiers to the statement:
We need Carr to come back.
We need at least one big upgrade on the DL.
Other than that, I think we’re pretty solid everywhere. And I felt our secondary improved significantly over the course of the year. Throw Berry back into the mix and it’s going to be pretty effing legit.
joplin chiefs fan - January 8, 2012

Time for a James Harrison 99 yard INT return?
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
Each Tebow completion
might as well be a deposit into Brandon Carr’s bank account
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
i'm sure vegas is doing well on this game right now
niageriannit1 - January 8, 2012
Carr is not going anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
I hope so
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
Go tell Pioli that.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 8, 2012
Wow...the Steelers' D is looking pretty rediculous right now
It looks like they didn’t even gameplan for the Broncos. This is actually kinda pathetic.
cheapham - January 8, 2012
They are burning bibles in Vegas right now...
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
I hate Tebow. I hate the Broncos.
That is all.
GetRight - January 8, 2012
Pioli is on the phone to Carr right noe I bet...
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
Every time you masturbate
God sends Tebow a completion
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
Oh man.
I see lots of completions in Tebow’s future.
EricBerryYoYouScary - January 8, 2012
That doesn't even make any sense.
craig in calgary - January 8, 2012
craig what was your parlay for today
niageriannit1 - January 8, 2012
Is that a pun
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
hahaha!
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
right in the chest
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Sims its ok if you give up 100-2000 yards rushing if they dont score except for 3
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
The announcers just described Denver's last two drives as
deep penetrations
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
thats how those girls described Big Ben
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
20-6 Broncos wow!
Super Gnat - January 8, 2012
Why not let Batch have one drive.
Just see how it goes.
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
20 to 6 broncos...if that don't beat all !!!!!!
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
Can't wait to see First Take tomorrow.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
Why so skip can give a bj to tebow
PSUkegreen - January 8, 2012
I'm pretty sure that is the first time anyone has ever typed that sentence
Congratz!
Pitt still wins this game…
Chief-blinders-on - January 8, 2012
I happen to like the show
At least its in depth debate and not the glossing that you get on Sportscenter, or PTI, or Rome, or whatever else.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
That and watching Steven A. and Skip go at it is rather entertaining.
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012
There are not a lot of watchable sport shows on TV
They forget to let the sports themselves do a lot of the talking.
Still, it is funny seeing someone seriously looking forward to seeing Skip Bayless drool over Tebow.
Chief-blinders-on - January 8, 2012
I'm tired of hearing about Tebow.
If he wins a playoff game….I won’t be able to watch Sportscenter anymore.
GetRight - January 8, 2012
Anymore?
He already monopolizes their coverage
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
I don't know what is worse....
Big Ben milking injuries for all their worth or Tebowmania. I hate Tebow almost as much as I hate Justin Beiber….
GetRight - January 8, 2012
They aren't the same person?
Chief-blinders-on - January 8, 2012
Yea, Ben need to start probing the bronco secondary alot betterr too!!
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
Nice hold on Von Miller
ArrowSpread - January 8, 2012

KCinIL - January 8, 2012
Pitt.

Broncos ball out of half.
Marty-Ball - January 8, 2012
Am I the only one that likes the steelers kicker last name????
Kool TA - January 8, 2012

Wow.

Marty-Ball - January 8, 2012
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Pitt is embarrassing themselves and they're not even playing a good team , this is sad
Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
if the donkeys with Tebow make it to the AFC Championship before the Chiefs I'm gonna puke!
CHIEFFAN82 - January 8, 2012
Media is just drooling at the possiblity of Tebow vs Brady part 2
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
yeah
at least if it does by a stroke of luck happen again… tebow will get demolished once again
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
not as bad as Seattle vs New Orleans last year
or wait….maybe it is
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Just think....had we made one field goal against the Raiders, we would be beating Pittsburgh right now.
GetRight - January 8, 2012
Man
We would’ve DESTROYED this fuckin squad
KCinIL - January 8, 2012
God news is that Tebow can throw a pick 6 at any moment.
The bad news is that an injured Roethlisberger can too.
wustl_chiefs_fan - January 8, 2012
For the second time in two games:
Announcers giving coaches props for calling timeouts near the end of halves to preserve clock, then gushing about it. It’s common sense, guys.
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
Big Ben needs to come out after halftime
and penetrate the Broncos’ secondary against their will
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
hahaha
and he know JUST how to do it too
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Denver blocks for their field goal kicker..thats why they are playing now.
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
"He put da team on his back doe" lol
CHIEFFAN82 - January 8, 2012
So who's the better kicker.. Suck- up or Squeeze-em?
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
Tebow: 3 completions over 40 yards in that quarter.
Sanchize: 2 all year.
Per Michael Lombardi
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
5 completions 180 yards
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
Are the Steelers CB's that bad?

upamtn - January 8, 2012
no kidding.
KC Nate - January 8, 2012
How many guys is Pitt missing on d?
Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
I don't know, but they did say all their starting D-linemen are out.
wustl_chiefs_fan - January 8, 2012
All of them.
Tarkus - January 8, 2012

upamtn - January 8, 2012
Be prepared for a bunch of Tebowing after this game is over..
Kool TA - January 8, 2012

rdubz - January 8, 2012
my advice don't turn on your tv all week
tebow will be on some channel
niageriannit1 - January 8, 2012
Probably right.
rdubz - January 8, 2012
Eight going for NINE!
That is the amount of playoff wins since KC won our last playoff game! Scott Pioli, if you read this page; let me say…THANKS FOR NOTHING! You pissed away an off season and didn’t do a DAMN THING to improve us! How about we win just ONE MORE playoff game before I freaking die? Either get REAL SERIOUS about doing your job OR GET THE HELL OUT!!!
Jason Drue Keith - January 8, 2012
Huoston was an improvement
upamtn - January 8, 2012
Babin WAS BETTER!
Jason Drue Keith - January 8, 2012
I don't recall him playing SOLB for us
and Breaston was a definite improvement … unless you want Chris Chambers back
upamtn - January 8, 2012
Babbin has failed at LB
We had him as a DE
bonesjackson - January 8, 2012
"Babin was better" is totally a credibility killer. Just sayin'.
It’s like telling us that “Ray Rice is SOOOO much better than Steve Smith.”
-noncomparable positions
-different schemes completely
-asked to do different things within scheme.
I get what you’re saying—Pioli needs to add more talent to this squad, ASAP—and wholeheartedly agree with you, but the rest of it doesn’t work for me. Sorry.
go_saleaumua - January 8, 2012
Im lost on your first statement
NJChieffan16 - January 8, 2012
Broncos...
have won 8 playoff games since we won our last playoff game. Today would be 9!
Jason Drue Keith - January 8, 2012
Oh yea...
Well, the Chiefs kinda suck bro…what can you do
NJChieffan16 - January 8, 2012
I am also lost

Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Amazesme they are walking down the field on the steel curtain...ha
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012

The whistle blew before there was a recovery…. Hard to believe they can stop any play

Great
That is what I thought
bonesjackson - January 8, 2012
Yeah. Bad officiating.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012 via mobile
So basically
Denver was robbed because the refs are whistle happy.
bh13 - January 8, 2012
Yes it's a stupid rule that's depended on officials
Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
Refs gifted Pitt that one.
KaloPhoenix - January 8, 2012
The Refs need to quit going to the whistle so quickly.
GetRight - January 8, 2012

Incomplete pass ruling = no recovery if fumble

blown whistle = no recovery if fumble.
GetRight - January 8, 2012
That's not true.
Tarkus - January 8, 2012
Where is the flag?
bonesjackson - January 8, 2012
As far as that call is concerned
the refs didn’t want to blow it, but Big Ben made them do it.
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
if that isnt defenseless receiver then i dont understand the rule
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
Its the Steelers

don't understand
The rule on that lateral. When the qb is strippedsacked and it is incorrectly ruled an incomplete pass it can be reviewed and reversed but that cant. Any explanations?
kcchiefs10dz - January 8, 2012
I think the refs blew it
I thought the rule was that, even though the ruling on the field was incomplete, because Denver showed a clear recovery of the ball, it could be ruled a fumble
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
It wasn't challenged because the whistle blow would not have allowed the fumble recovery.
electriclight - January 8, 2012
it needs to be changed by the league
They made the change to the fumble rule but forgot about the lateral pass rule. If theres a backwards pass and it hits the ground but is ruled and whistled down incomplte then the play cant be reversed
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
I think the whistle is the problem because the notion is that if the whistle goes then the recovery situation isnt fair.
GenericBrand - January 8, 2012
well the whistle blows on the other scenario and it still gets reversed
kcchiefs10dz - January 8, 2012
Steelers need to play press coverage and rush Tebow balls out...

touchbacks are annoying
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012

i think they will change that back this coming year..

ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
you cracked me up earlier when you said Ben should penetrate the secondary against their will
in fact, i posted it to my facebook and had a bunch of my boys rollin
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
I changed my mind
Big ben needs to loosen up the defense by ramming it up the middle and then slip it to the tight end when denver commits
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
whether they like it or not!!!
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
if he meets any resistance, he'll just FORCE IT IN!

Tebow wins
He’s a God again.
Tebow loses? It’s because of his defense because you know he can do no wrong

ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
I dont know why you wouldnt even try to kick the FG there
KCinAZ - January 8, 2012
Because nobody in NFL history has ever kicked a field goal that long.
While many people have thrown Hail Mary’s that long.
wustl_chiefs_fan - January 8, 2012
that's sissy talk
nobody ever kicked that long because no one ever tried

MountainManMike - January 8, 2012
I know it's not sudden death so is it like college ? One Possession per team ?
Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile
each side gets a chance to touch the ball
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012
so let's say
denver TD
steelers TD
then sudden death
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012
basically
a field goal doesn’t win the game… if denver scores a TD here, it’s over
ToddQuixote - January 8, 2012
steelers gets a chance too you know

what do you mean, any team that has CB that can cover can beat tebow.
Just rush 5 guys and get to tebow instead of rushing 4 and giving him 8 seconds to sit back there to throw the long ball

I was talking about the other 3 playoff games
those were ass whopping
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012
ohhh
yeah i see what your saying. Yeah this one was by far the most entertaining, but I rather see a boring steelers stomping of the broncos 78-0 than this bullcrap
andrew33 - January 8, 2012
Yea good game, just want things back to normal, once they get eliminated I ll be very comfortable since their team will suck for years
Chiefs86 - January 8, 2012 via mobile

Chiefshero - January 8, 2012

Our Chiefs D made Tebow look so terrible
but i was totally stumped how terrible the Steelers D went against tebow. That and i hate when i lose at betting against my dad. My dad just says which team teams and they win!!! Seriously though, resign carr because our secondary played better than the steelers. now excuse me i have to pay 50$ to my grinning father.

The Pope just yell out his window at the vatican..HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kool TA - January 8, 2012
tebow's christian, not catholic LOL
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012
Catholics are a Christian denomination.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012
except they hate each other...for some reason
Chiefshero - January 8, 2012
Meh, that's really not as big an issue anymore.
For example, I’m a well read evangelical and am married to a well read Catholic. We disagree on some things, but not Christian essentials.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012
I'm in a similar situation
but I’d say the only reason it isn’t an issue is because neither side is as fervent about their beliefs as they once were.
If you asked my great-grandparents, they’d say my fiancee was going to hell. If you asked her great-grandparents, the would have said I’m going to hell lol
joplin chiefs fan - January 8, 2012
I'm very fervent, and so is the wife.
And I tell the wife when she’s wrong. But Christians have to, I think, differentiate between essential doctrines and non essential doctrines.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012
BTW, I don't recommend telling your wife she's wrong/
;-)
bossmanham - January 8, 2012
Don't get me wrong, it is still AN issue, and still does cause division.
But it’s not as bad as it once was.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012
Tebow is a Baptist I think.
bossmanham - January 8, 2012
Chiefs players twitter feeds are pretty funny since "the play"

Primetime said something smart for the first time in awhile
“There’s a receiver who might deserve some credit here.”

Tebow = Sarah Palin
Half the people LOVE him, half the people HATE him. I don’t give two shits about politics, but talking to my aunt today (who is a huge right-winger Palin supporter) she was going on and on about Tebow and it sounded just like when she used to talk up Palin. She’s not even a sports fan!
