Tonight's the night in college football. The BCS National Championship. We have the LSU Tigers the Alabama Crimson Tide -- again -- playing tonight at 7:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time).
Yeah, we've seen this game before but I'm still looking forward to it.
Check out SBNation.com for a bunch of highlight videos and what not as they come out.
So, two questions: Who ya got tonight? And how many future Chiefs are on the field?

Tarkus - January 9, 2012

I am almost disappointed this is on Arrowheadpride. I want to puke.
dahd11 - January 9, 2012
Go 'Clones!
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
yeah rhoades is a great coach for the clones
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I don't even know who coaches them. I just know who they beat.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
the clones are the kind of team that beats teams they shouldn't, but will lose to teams they should beat.
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Oh
so they’re the college version of the Chiefs.
His Royal Greatness - January 9, 2012
Nice
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
There are teams the Chiefs should be beat?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
yeah but they got a good coach, who is making something out of nothing
If the clones can be respectable in the big 12, its a win. they beat iowa this year, and went to a bowl game after the ok state win
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I'm going with the SEC for the win
upamtn - January 9, 2012
Especially since the fix is in.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
those other guys
21 Arenas, Javier DB 5-9 197 24 2 Alabama
92 Gilberry, Wallace DE 6-2 268 27 3 Alabama
44 McClain, Le’Ron RB 6-0 260 27 5 Alabama
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
So LSU will win 4-3?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
that works
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
How could u forget brodie croyle
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Well if you put it that way...
GO LSU!
Chiefsdodgerslakers2415 - January 9, 2012
Go Bama!!!!!
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
welcome to the Party
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
Rooting for a split mythical championship.
So go LSU!
Tarkus - January 9, 2012

keith jackson in the house
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Perfect site for this battle
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
horrible site for this battle
This game should not be happening at all.
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
Don't know why not
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Didn't this game already happen?
On the loser’s home field?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Enough
Iowa State
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
the exact same day they found out that they had lost a fellow sports team
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
and 9-6
a loss, at home. been there done that. They had their chance
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
I have no dog in this fight.
I just think the system is fucking stupid.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
It's not stupid, it's very smartly designed to keep a very few people in power.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Smart for them.
Stupid for me.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
oh oh
bringing politics into the party :)
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
Death to the BCS!
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Yep
And if the kicker wasn’t drunk Bama wins
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
And if I wasn't drunk, I'd have a job.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
hehehe
+1
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
But did you have a good time?
His Royal Greatness - January 9, 2012
I think so.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
For all you OK State fans
LSU and Bama killed Arkansas….Arkansas dominated KSU, OSU had trouble with KSU…that’s the difference between the SEC and Big 12.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
Think of waking up tomorrow and hearing that ___________________ is the national champions
To get in that blank, Alabama only had to win once at a neutral site.
For LSU, they will have had to win twice, once at a neutral site and once on the road.
Having this game makes it completely unfair for LSU. Does bama have a legitimate point as no 2 in the nation? Sure, but they already got beat by this team.
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
So what? #1 vs #2 is how it's supposed to be
And how it always should be.
And I’d hardly call the Superdome a neutral field
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
They were saying ticket sales were 50/50.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
More like 60/40
And LSU always wins in the Superdome, Bama hasn’t won there for 20 years now
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
I got my info from talk radio.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
forget the damn numbers for a second
You be the coach of LSU tomorrow after they lose (hypothetical) and have to explain why the other team gets to be champions after winning only once
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
I'd tell them it's because we lost the championship game, that we weren't better when it mattered most(I'd probably apologize too)
What did Belicheck tell his team after they lost the SB to a Giants team they had already beaten earlier in the season?
This is why I want a playoff setup in College, I don’t doubt the result would be the same Anyways then Tigers fans could stop complaining.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
oh oh
A TD wins this gameSteve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
Wait...
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
He already pulled off a "We're undefeated in regulation."
I don’t think he’d have trouble explaining much of anything to anybody.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
So did Les Miles...
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
? That's who the coach of LSU is.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
And he went undefeated in the regular season
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
I'm sure that's what he'd say.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
He did though
Or does 11-0(or 12 I can’t remember) not mean anything?
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
I was just talking about the time where he lobbied his team into the championship game by saying they were "undefeated in regulation."
They had two overtime losses.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
4 future chiefs on the field
SDChief - January 9, 2012
Claiborne?
who
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
Did RG3 transfer schools?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Honeybadger?
ArrowheadHunter - January 9, 2012
Who you watchin?
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Stupid formatting. #30, Alabama.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Hightower had a great game
BAMFSpecialOps - January 10, 2012
LSU!
tomahawk44 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Wow, Tebow-like throw.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Only one link at FirstRow Sports.
That surprises me. It will be interesting to see the ratings for this game.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
espn 3 is showing this
if you want something more reliable
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
I'm only mildly interested.
That just surprises me. The NFL playoffs have had like 8 links, at least for the games I’ve looked at.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Lane to the right looked wide-the-hell open
ArrowSpread - January 9, 2012
Remember Dorsey on that LSU line? He was a freaking monster.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
when he wasn't hurting
Haley did a good job making him an available player for the last 3 years
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
True. I really wonder what changed.
Is it maybe because he’s more stationary in a 3-4 than when he was chasing QBs?
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
NFL offensive lineman
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
+ scheme
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
I mean why he gets injured less.
I’d think NFL O linemen would cause more injuries.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I gotta ask you Steve and WarPaint (actually curious, not trying to be overaggressive)
Without bringing in a numbering system built on political opinion and beating up on no name teams, why do you think Alabama belongs in this game?
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
SEC > everyone
See also cotton bowl
lol only kidding
ArrowheadHunter - January 9, 2012
I am a Missouri Tigers fan
it is the game presented
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
I'm not trying to force you into the role of Bama fan
but being satisfied with the status quo isn’t exactly the best way to improve things.
MarineChiefsFan - January 9, 2012
I remember when the Big 12 sent Mizzou to a non- BCS game after an 11-1 season
and a fifth down that gave Colorado a share of the Championship and a Kicked ball by Nebraska that Nebraska turned into a championship.
Life ain’t fair, but I am going to enjoy this game tonite
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
I thought we lost to Bob Stoops twice
Besides, it still burns my ass that Kansas went to the Orange bowl because we lost a game that we got the privelage of playing in. Then we played Arkansas and kicked the crap out of DMC and the rest of the hogs.
His Royal Greatness - January 9, 2012
Yep Senior memory
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
Its OK
wish I had a senior memory after seeing that crap go down
His Royal Greatness - January 9, 2012
For one the first game was extremely close
And two, to be honest, I think they’re the two best teams in the country. The two best TEs should play each other in the NC, even if they’ve played each other.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
So Stanford and Clemson should be playing?
BAMFSpecialOps - January 10, 2012
For one the first game was extremely close

ArrowheadHunter - January 9, 2012
Oh, that's not good.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Maze is no Arenas.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Anybody ever hear anyting about Arenas' injury?
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
No.
It didn’t look bad to me, and since we haven’t heard anything…..
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
...Must be bad.
I’m gonna assume that he’ll never be the same player, and add nickel back to my mock.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
it didn't look bad though
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
silence=extremely bad
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012
Haven't heard anything on Flowers either.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
it's horrible. They had to amputate it
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012

Chiefshero - January 9, 2012

ArrowSpread - January 9, 2012

His Royal Greatness - January 9, 2012
so...
Do we have consensus here? Is LSU the Chiefs NCAA farm team or what?
Buck'O - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
What.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
it's a baseball term
moving minors players to majors
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012
He said "or what"
I’m choosing the latter.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Sucks when you have to explain it.

iPhone spellcheck fail
Buck'O - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
Oh.
So it wasn’t a compliment.
I don’t think four players over pretty long period of time is significant.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
just being glib :)
Buck'O - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
I don't know what that means.
So I’ll just assume it’s a compliment.

ArrowSpread - January 9, 2012
espn just said it after the commercial break
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012
The rarity of a Tebow pass makes them more valuable
ArrowheadHunter - January 9, 2012
I thought he got 250k for the win
Where does the 700 club number come from?
Ren - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app

niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I'm sure Skip Bayless
was as giddy as a 15 year old schoolgirl
His Royal Greatness - January 9, 2012
He was hyper and excited.
Of course he downplayed all the injuries on the Steelers even though any injury Denver has is the reason the Broncos lost….he then said that when Decker got hurt, Tebow got better so Decker was the problem with Tebow in the other games.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
Pitt was missing their ENTIRE defensive line. Plus Woodley.
Four out of their five line of scrimmage guys were backups.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I thought I had heard they were only missing Ryan Clark. Who comes up w/ this stuff?
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
Also their Pro Bowl center.
And Ben’s ankle. Basically a shell of themselves from when we played them.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012

I think you just answered your own question
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
did you see TJ in his younger years?
He was a beast

Steve, what do you think of that Mosely guy? From Auburn.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Don't know
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
Rob Rang seems to like him.
Sounds like he’d be a great tackle prospect in the third round or so.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Saw him in the bowl game
He was pretty good, can really get downfield to block on the move. I know JC would love him.
May need a year of seasoning until he hits the field.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Think he could beat out Barry?
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
how about mims playing next season
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I'm down with that.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Maybe not the first few games
Or even the first year, he’d still need to transition from the Auburn offense.
But eventually Yes he would.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Seems like a great Pioli-type pickup. I hope he doesn't blow up the combine.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Why not?
They’re dominating these Tigers, especially in the pass game

Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I like both.
But wouldn’t like either all the time.

ghostofmunicipalstadium - January 9, 2012

niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I'm up
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012
Yeah, these teams are scary on defense.
Mizzou better get extra buckles for their chinstraps.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
this game is boring
where’s the tebow commentaries?
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012
I know everyone talks about how good these Defenses are
but at what point do we start questioning how bad these Offenses are?
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
it's very palko-esque
Chiefshero - January 9, 2012
When someone outside the SEC wins a championship.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Hard to do that when they're fixing the game.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
my thoughts exactly
banshee_01 - January 9, 2012
ell oh ell.
Who would beat either one of these teams tonight? Allow me to start my rebuttals early:
Oregon had their chance, they were favored, and they lost.
OK State lost to Iowa State.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
And the Packers couldn't have possibly won the Super Bowl.
Considering they were lucky to make the playoffs.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Not saying a playoff wouldn't be better.
Just addressing your implication that this game is fixed. The two best looking teams are playing tonight.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I think the Ducks are the best looking team.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Touche.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Such badass helmets
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
ok state would
Have embarrassed either of these teams tonight and the sec knew it that’s why the bs system had to make sure it was two sec teams playing. The bcs championship game is a joke
banshee_01 - January 9, 2012
Except they lost to an unranked in-conference team.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
So one bad game means they couldn't possibly beat these two teams?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
I don't think their defense would be able to stop either team.
and becuae both Bama and LSU can pressure with 7, I don’t think they would be able to score on them like they can in the Big 12.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
It means that in a shitty world with no college playoff, they blew their chance to be playing tonight.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
You are joking right?
Ok state barely beat KSU who was handled by Arkansas who got killed by Bama and LSU. Both these teams averaged over 30 points per game. The only reason they can’t score is because they are the 2 best defenses in college. Remember everybody said Oregon would run all over Auburn last year…they didn’t. They also didn’t on LSU this year, but did against every other team. The BCS didn’t make sure….Bama is in it because of the polls which the media and coaches voted for Bama….if it was up to the BCS computers, OK state would have got in.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
Transitive property doesn't apply to sports
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
Yes I know
It’s the only comparison though. I was more showing the difference in conferences and not just teams.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
The big difference is...
Big 12….entertaining
SEC…boring
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
Come on
The SEC is better football. I think that these defenses are so good, it seems boring….but there are better players in the SEC.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
Better football? 12-0 from 4 field goals is not good football let alone better football
Shit is boring, at least there are some NBA games on
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
If either of these teams were playing a Big 12 team
they would score many TDs and their D would stop them.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
I love how so many people in here dog on the Big 12 and want to blow the SEC
Wonder how many are Mizzou fans. Probably most.
Fozzyboyd - January 9, 2012
Big 12 had one bowl game against the SEC, and K State got whooped.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Not denying that.
But I refuse to go along with everyone in the SEC are football gods and unbeatable by anyone not in the SEC.
Fozzyboyd - January 9, 2012
Man, I hope that's true.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Haven't lost in a BCS title game
excpet tonight. Oregon has run over every team they played in the last 2 years except Auburn last year, and LSU this year….so they prove it on the field every year.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
It was KState
I like the Cats almost as much as my Sooners, but they were never the best matchup for Arkansas. Their game plan seemed a bit off and when got behind the chains from throwing on 1st and 2nd, they were kind of hosed.
I had this game going one of two ways, 1) Ends like the OU/KSU game or 2)Ends like the OSU/KSU game. I never had KSU winning it. Don’t act like it’s a huge surprise and some kind of revelation as to why the SEC is “better” than the B12.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Big 10
Alum….grew up in Kansas…the SEC is much better. Big 12 played zero defense.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
SEC = Zero Offense
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Look at the points Alabama and LSU put on every team they played, except each other.
Alabama never scored below 24, LSU never scored below 35. Until they played each others’ defenses.
I’m definitely not saying that every SEC team can beat every non-SEC team. I’m not even saying the SEC is the better top-to-bottom conference. But so far, nobody has proven otherwise.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
It isn't all offense with their scoring
They get a LOT from their STs and Defense.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
So, you DO admit they have good defenses.
:)
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
Yes
I will never concede that they play exciting football…unless it’s Arkansas, on occasion (that bowl game did NOT qualify!).
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Your exciting is not my exciting.
I like it when you’re on the edge of your seat because ONE play can break a game. Score-fests, the only suspense is in who gets the ball last. Might as well just skip to the last four minutes.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
I don't know about you
But the only time I got to the edge of my seat last night was when the kid broke his leg…that about sent me out of the room. That was AWFUL. Hope he heals up alright.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Yeah, I always like to see turnovers
because watching offensive players play defense and vice versa is fun…but sometimes I guess it’s not the safest thing.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
Wow that was ugly
It was a Theismann/Krumrie moment to be sure. I’ve never seen someone go down like that.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
At least when we was riding off on the cart, he didn't look too bad.
They had his knee wrapped, but he was sitting up just looking depressed. So hopefully it looked scarier than it was.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
Here's hoping
I don’t recall too many legs looking like that. Yikes.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Oh wow
Im a PAC-12 fan and i shake my damn head.
Oh well it’s boring to you, and if you lived in the 50s-80s you wouldn’t have been a football fan.
And I love the lakers but basketball is about as exciting as watching paint dry
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
NBA regular season game > field goal contest
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
Remember that Rose Bowl last week? That was exciting college football
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
Alamo Bowl
That was fun.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Arena League.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
Pfft!
There was zero defense, I’ll give you that. It still didn’t make it any less exciting.
It’s those games that are fun for all football fans to watch; not a snoozefest like last night. That was like watching the Chiefs/Pats game…only worse cause no one ever broke loose.
SCKSChief - January 10, 2012
Defense is being de-emphasized "by rule" to draw in
CASUAL fans. Fans that haven’t watched football before and don’t know anything about it. Just like every other business, the NFL goes after new market share. When a business does that, existing customers almost always suffer a watered-down version of the product they used to enjoy.
The NFL is trying to change itself to be more attractive to shorter attention spans….. One touchdown per minute, yay! MOAR content for Redzone, yay! fart
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
exactly my point
And coaches who can be influenced by sec money chose an sec team to be in it its a joke if a team wants a shot at a national title anymore then they will have to join the sec first
banshee_01 - January 9, 2012
I guess you didn't know that in 2008 the SEC
tried to lobby for a plus one so 4 teams would be in the mix and not just 2….funny how everybody talks about the SEC as having an edge but people forget OU got into the title game over after getting destroyed by KSU in the Big 12 Champ, and in 2003 (I believe) AUB was undefeated and was left out.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
History of the BCS is driven by the Big Ten and Jim Delaney.
SEC wanted at least a plus one from the start.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
That there youtube

You people are not purists.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Purists would just let the vote decide the championship
and not have this silly game.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
I disagree. Purists would want it decided on the field in a playoff.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Div II is pure, but not televised often.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
D2 is some good football
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
Touche.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Not a purist? Why, because I can't stand two defenses beating the shit out of offenses?
I want give and take, back and forth. That doesn’t mean offensive shootouts, that means two teams who make adjustments, change things up, take advantage of a weakness, adjust to hide their weakness and play to a strength. I am perfectly happy with a 12-9 game if it is done right.
This, is two defenses, that’s it. The offenses are horrible. There is no chess match, it’s two boxers standing there with their hands up, its two MMA fighters just sitting in guard.
Purists, whatever. If you think that then you don’t know football. Football has 3 sides to it, offense, defense, and special teams. When it’s only defense then it sucks.
Fozzyboyd - January 9, 2012
I was kinda joking,
but these are not bad offenses. Look what they did to the rest of their opponents this year.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Alabama 43rd in yardage, LSU 60th
nothing special
BeauJackson - January 9, 2012
check that
Bama 30th, LSU 73rd

Oh, but they were playing SEC defenses.

yeah but he did okay with moss in minnesota
it might of been more players than coaching
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I think time has proven that theory.
Related: See Haley, Todd
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
yeah just hoping we get someone good
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Me too.
That will probably make or break the Romeo era.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
chan gailey or weis would of been great
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Yes, somebody who can build and run an offense on their own, let Romeo worry about the defense.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
MORE FIELD GOALZ!!!!
This is football at its finest
HIV 2 Elway - January 9, 2012
Damn I would love the Mizzou mascot to break that trophy
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
For everybody who thinks this is bad offense instead of good defense, check these teams' records.
Alabama put 24 or more on seven SEC teams plus an early Penn State. LSU put 35 or more on seven SEC teams plus Oregon.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I agree, its good defense, just boring
in two games they have 11 field goals. Yawn.
Fozzyboyd - January 9, 2012
Skip Bayless must be loving this game.
Since he thinks field goals should be taken out of football.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
You're kidding.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Not at all.
He pretty much wants all kicking (except for punting) removed from football.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Would it then be called Skipball?

He was ranting about it (again)

niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Practice Squad?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Ahahaha oh Tigers
Damn I hope CJ is okay he’s an up and coming defender for Bama.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Richardson doesn't really look all that great against an NFL defense.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Just say no
to drafting a RB in the first round.
Unless he’s scary good, like Larry Johnson.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
He's
bigger and faster then Ingram I think.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
Not bigger weight wise, has more muscle and a lower center of gravity
BAMFSpecialOps - January 10, 2012
You get the impression they just beat up on lesser teams and a good RB looks great.
He doesn’t look like somebody to elevate a team.
Man, the Tide has this LSU offense all discombobulated. That QB is having a very bad day.
hmills110 - January 9, 2012
It's the work of Saban
he is so good. Either of these teams would put up big points against any other team.
AZDiamond75 - January 9, 2012
This is an old-fashioned whoopin.
I think these kids have forgotten what Marty Ball was all about.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
13-10 losses in the postseason?
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
15-0 whoopins in the regular season.
Beating the Raiders……
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Romeo will take your 15-0
and raise you 28-0.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
While they haven't been wildly successful between the 20s, I love the way the extra wides brings the LSU secondary UP.
Gonna mug your guys at the line, and somebody(ies) is(are) gonna blitz. One thing I’ve hated about KC D for many years is how the extra wides usually makes the Chiefs back off. At least RAC’s not as bad as Gun was, but I love this aggressive D.
hmills110 - January 9, 2012
Sounds like Gunny might be available soon.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
did they can him
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
Just rumors.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Runnin' soft zone behind the blitz is something even the NFC Playbook guys were pointing out.
I just always felt Gun made his name on dominant d-linemen. Talked like he was Patton and schemed like he was Montgomery.
hmills110 - January 9, 2012
Because theyre selling out to stop the run
Leaving the WRs wide open deep, sorta the opposite of the Washington two deep prevent defense against RGIII and Baylor
He impacts the game in more ways then just the stat sheet.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
from rotoworld
The body of Packers OC Joe Philbin’s son, Michael, was discovered and identified in Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s Fox River after a police search Monday.
It’s believed Michael Philbin, 21, fell through the ice early Sunday. His body was found in roughly 15 feet of water, 30 yards from shore, at around 4PM ET Monday. Michael’s friends in Oshkosh filed a missing person’s report Sunday night after he was nowhere to be found throughout the day. Joe Philbin, Green Bay’s fifth-year offensive coordinator, is currently away from the team.

BCRavenJHawkfan - January 9, 2012
Time for Lee
Steve_Chiefs - January 9, 2012
That has to be my least favorite play in all of football.
Hell Cassel’s at quarterback and Muir is calling plays.

Les Miles is foolish for not benching Jefferson
jcrunninwild - January 9, 2012
Or Les Miles' lucky streak has finally come to an end.
BCRavenJHawkfan - January 9, 2012
If he puts Lee in, I bet he moves the offense better than Jefferson, which doesn't take much
Feel like Palko is out there!

Uh, no not quite.....no interceptions!
BCRavenJHawkfan - January 9, 2012

niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
What's the record for most attempted FG's
by one team in a Nat’l Championship game??
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
In an odd way I feel like I am watching the Chiefs play themselves.
One team can’t move the ball at all (mainly because can’t throw down field) the other can move the ball pretty well, but can’t get the ball into the end zone.
tidnes2ko - January 9, 2012
So it’s like watching the Chiefs w/ Orton (Bama) VS. the Chiefs with Palko (LSU) ??
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012

Bama doesn't deserve to be in this game
LSU vs OK state all the way
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
How can you say that when theyre up 15??
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
I'm joking
Just poking fun at everyone complaint about the match-up, Bama should have won the first and it’s why they’re here now.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
They shouldn't have lost to Iowa State, then.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
exactly.
Essentially it comes down to to 1-loss teams. OSU lost to an unranked opponent and Bama lost to the number 1 team in the nation… Not to meantion in overtime
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
At home.
Scoring 6 points.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
6 LSU points = 42 Iowa State points.
It’s like dog years.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Ha!
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Missing 4 field goals

ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Bama's kicker should get the MVP
But I’m sure he wont
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
don't know how he can't get it...he's got all the points!
jcrunninwild - January 9, 2012
Tebow will get the MVP.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
isu was down 21 in the second half againest okie state
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
I've never understood how dominant defenses make for a good football game
I’ve always found the chess match of it fun. How teams make adjustments, take advantage of weaknesses, take away the other teams strengths. A game of nothing but defense is just plain boring.
Fozzyboyd - January 9, 2012
There is all that strategy in defense, too.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I don't want it in just defense, I want it in the entire game.
Fozzyboyd - January 9, 2012
Nothing but offense is old
SorRy but maybe the first couple times was awesome and unexpected, but seeing it every week nearly every single game, and now in the bowl season…yawn. Sweet the Saints put up another 40 points what else is new?
Needed a good change-up, I grew up watching and enjoying Chiefs defense in the 90s so I feel right at home.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
LSU offense is helpless
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
I haven't even noticed Chapman tonight.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
How about the rest of the D?
Nose Tackle isn’t a glory position
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
There's some white guy on their line hogging all the glory.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
have they shown pioli yet in the crowd with his half alabama and lsu jersey
niageriannit1 - January 9, 2012
He’s watching the game at home on his treadmill
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
Richardson looks like a guy who's just used to pressing forward, while his line pushes people backwards.
hmills110 - January 9, 2012
Ahaha noticed that too huh?
Run blocking looking downright putrid tonight, whatever LSU’s problem was the first game they fixed in the meantime.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Trent Richardson is probably the strongest guy on the team.
He benches like 500 pounds.
I remember a play when he was a true freshman where he broke literally 5 tackles and went long for a TD.
bamachief5558 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
These defenses are on another level.

Lol keep talking, Mizzou fan.
Clueless. It’s OK, you’ll figure it out next season.

Tebow laughed at that option play
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
Lol at non-Big 12 team running the option.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Lol because LSU would light up a big 12 team with that option.
bamachief5558 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Ha, no.
That’s one thing the SEC can’t do well.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Tebow is praying for you.
bamachief5558 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
I've seen good option play.
What the Broncos do ain’t it. Whatever that was LSU just tried, ain’t it.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
LSU couldnt light up P&L with that option
Falcon58 - January 9, 2012 via mobile

Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Yeah, I think he will time bad
Could see a drop like Brandon Spikes.
That fact that he is a pure 34 ILB also hurts his stock. I have mocked Hightower to us for a long time. See him as the perfect fit at SILB and a future All Pro player.
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
I think the ravens might draft him
Tbh
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Didn't they draft Martez Wilson last year?
He was another one of my favorite ILB prospects last year.
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
Saints got him.
I could see the Ravens getting Hightower. They seem to collect all the good defensive players who are over-sized for their position.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I could see them going after Burfict honestly
BAMFSpecialOps - January 10, 2012
Yeah, that might be the best place for him.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
good chance
LHO - January 9, 2012 via mobile
so alabama
who lost a home game and didn’t win their conference, will be champion? love this system.
BeauJackson - January 9, 2012
who are you suggesting SHOULD be champion???
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
i dont know who should be
but this system is terrible. look at the overall resumes if you want. Alabama didn’t win their conference, beat LSU once. LSU won the SEC, beat the Pac 12 and Big East champion, beat Alabama once.
BeauJackson - January 9, 2012
thats whats so absurd about this system
they could have just cancelled the previous game they played. It didn’t matter at all.
ghostofmunicipalstadium - January 9, 2012
HA.
So your saying there should be no championship game? LSU should have won it after they beat Georgia? LMAO this is why college football sucks there are whiners EVERY year.
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
every other division of college football has playoffs
why shouldn’t the top division do the same?
BeauJackson - January 9, 2012
Im not arguing against that.
All im saying is Bama clearly deserves the championship this year and I dont doubt they would have won a playoff bracket either. And tell me how you would set up the bracket… If you have a 16 team bracket, what do you do with the other 150 teams?
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
how does bama clearly deserve it?
LSU won the SEC, beat the Rose, Orange and Cotton Bowl winners, and Alabama. Bama beat the SEC champion and the Cotton Bowl winner.
For a playoff, conference champions from the current BCS conferences and some at large teams. If other divisions of college football can figure it out, I’m sure the top one could.
BeauJackson - January 9, 2012
Bama just totally dominated LSU.
This wasnt even close man. I could MAYBE see your argument if it was a close game but you just have no argument here man. It doesnt matter who else they beat because they just played each other.
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
they already played once
bama lost.
BeauJackson - January 9, 2012
That doesn't count.
If you’re a Bama fan.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
did you not see the ass kicking bama gave lsu in the 2nd game?
stop being blind.
KC Nate - January 9, 2012
In the NFL
You can beat a team twice in the regular season, have a better record, and then lose to the same team in the playoffs & go home. That’s just how it is.
jmcgoblue - January 9, 2012
The other 150 teams have less than a 2% chance of making it through the playoffs.
So nobody cares about them. Just like the NFL playoffs.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Thats not like the NFL.
The NFL has 32 teams.
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
And the ones left out of the playoffs have no bitch-worthy shot to win the Superbowl.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Thats not the point im trying to make though.
What im saying is we’re talking about about 100 teams knowing that they have nothing to play for before their season even starts because they know they wont make it in the top 16. Then we’re talking about about 40 teams that are in the top 40% in the nation but dont get to have any type of ppost season. In the NFL 12 of 32(about 38%) get to have an offseason
masonsixer - January 9, 2012
Right now, there are maybe 8-10 teams that have a realistic shot at a national championship every year.
A playoff could increase that to 16.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Same principle, though.
There will be teams who complain about not making the playoffs, but nobody will say the best team was possibly left out.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
Because the system sucks.
Nobody bitches about who is Super Bowl champion.
/notwithstanding Seahawks vs. Steelers
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
What is stopping Bama from dominating a BCS playoff
We might be seeing Bama vs ? Instead of LSU
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
What's stopping them is such a playoff doesn't exist.
It’s easy to say they would just cruise in a playoff format, but we have no idea if they would or not. 6 seeds have won the Super Bowl, winning three road games and one neutral site game.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
I think they do well in a playoff format
Theyre built for it, great defense and running game.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Sounds like the Chiefs of the '90s.
Tarkus - January 9, 2012
co champs. Bama and OSU.
Falcon58 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Alabama is clearly the much better team.
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
If you lose to Iowa State, you can't be champ. It's a rule.
I actually think that excludes them from the championship next year, too. I’ll have to look it up.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Haters gonna hate
Its not like LSU deserves the championship, and if we had a playoff system I don’t doubt that Bama would’ve gotten in.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State.
Get over it.

Mock Draft - Alabama Edition
1. Dre Kirkpatrick – CB
2. Don’ta Hightower – ILB
3. Josh Chapman – NT
4. Marquis Maze – WR
5. DeQuan Menzie – CB
6. Brad Smelley – FB/TE
7. Chris Underwood – TE
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
They will be rebuilding after this year.
Good point, though. This is a game of good upper classmen vs good under classmen.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
You wouldn't like that draft for this team?
Take Richardson in the first over Kirkpatrick if you want.
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
Sure, I don't think it quite meets the Chiefs current needs, but it's close, and it would be a good BPA type draft.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Wow
A TOUCHDOWN!
ExRoyalsFan - January 9, 2012
Well well.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Richardson. Me want.
Buh bye Thomas Jones
Falcon58 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
He is good, but I am against drafting a RB in the first round, ever
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
I'm sure you wanted Levi Brown
Over Adrian Peterson too…
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
AP had a good run
He avoided injury longer than most and then — pop — there goes the knee.
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
So you think he's done now?
Guess we need a replacement for Charles as well then.
jmcgoblue - January 9, 2012
Different running styles
AP’s injury was also worse, and he has more wear and tear on his body.
BAMFSpecialOps - January 10, 2012
Man, he gets stuffed all night, and one break redeems him?
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
Richardson is Thomas Jones before Jones lost his speed
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
You're joking right?
Richardson is a stud, and will continue to be one in the NFL.
jmcgoblue - January 9, 2012
Jones was a stud at one time.
But I disagree with Britt. Jones is smaller and shiftier than Richardson. There’s this legend around KC of Jones being a power back, but he never was, unless you compare him to guys like Charles.
Brsrkr - January 10, 2012
Hell yeah
Its the one time the blocking was decent, the rest of the time defensive linemen are coming through the line to hit him and they’re gang tackling.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
So basically, he's just a regular running back who needs good blocking.
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
I didn't say he was Barry Sanders
Every RB needs the blocking up front, I don’t care who you are if you’re consistently getting hit by DL in the backfield and your OL is consistently getting pushed back you’re not going anywhere.
Normal RBs don’t have anywhere near the same skill set, normal RBs wouldn’t have had the speed or the patience or the vision to get that TD.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Wouldn't have happened if the TE hadn't sealed the edge
Nick Britt - January 9, 2012
Exactly the one time blocking was good all game
And trex goes for a TD hammering the nail into the coffin of LSUs hopes and dreams.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
And it still would've been a great run regardless
Trent Richardson had to stop on a dime to make that play happen, Fowler would’ve buried himself into a lineman and it would’ve been a 3 yard run.
ChiefWarPaint - January 9, 2012 via mobile
There ya go Trent.
bamachief5558 - January 9, 2012 via mobile
Congrats Bama!
Brsrkr - January 9, 2012

Brsrkr - January 9, 2012
