Photo

Kevin C. Cox - Getty Images

Tonight's the night in college football. The BCS National Championship. We have the LSU Tigers the Alabama Crimson Tide -- again -- playing tonight at 7:30 p.m. (Arrowhead Time).

Yeah, we've seen this game before but I'm still looking forward to it.

Check out SBNation.com for a bunch of highlight videos and what not as they come out.

So, two questions: Who ya got tonight? And how many future Chiefs are on the field?

Honey Badger don't care!

Go LSU!

Geaux Tigers

82 Bowe, Dwayne WR 6-2 221 27 5 LSU
34 Daniels, Travis CB 6-1 195 29 6 LSU
72 Dorsey, Glenn DE 6-1 297 26 4 LSU
94 Jackson, Tyson DE 6-4 296 25 3 LSU

HoneyBadger

Fuck Yeah

Oklahoma State.
2nd that!

I am almost disappointed this is on Arrowheadpride. I want to puke.

Go 'Clones!
yeah rhoades is a great coach for the clones
I don't even know who coaches them. I just know who they beat.
the clones are the kind of team that beats teams they shouldn't, but will lose to teams they should beat.
Oh

so they’re the college version of the Chiefs.

There are teams the Chiefs should be beat?
yeah but they got a good coach, who is making something out of nothing

If the clones can be respectable in the big 12, its a win. they beat iowa this year, and went to a bowl game after the ok state win

I'm going with the SEC for the win
Especially since the fix is in.
those other guys

21 Arenas, Javier DB 5-9 197 24 2 Alabama
92 Gilberry, Wallace DE 6-2 268 27 3 Alabama
44 McClain, Le’Ron RB 6-0 260 27 5 Alabama

So LSU will win 4-3?
How could u forget brodie croyle
Well if you put it that way...

GO LSU!

Go Bama!!!!!
welcome to the Party
Rooting for a split mythical championship.

So go LSU!

9 Tigers in a Box

whoa Nelly

keith jackson in the house
Perfect site for this battle
horrible site for this battle

This game should not be happening at all.

Don't know why not
  1. vs #2 sounds like the world is right to me
Didn't this game already happen?

On the loser’s home field?

Enough

Iowa State

the exact same day they found out that they had lost a fellow sports team
and 9-6

a loss, at home. been there done that. They had their chance

I have no dog in this fight.

I just think the system is fucking stupid.

It's not stupid, it's very smartly designed to keep a very few people in power.
Smart for them.

Stupid for me.

oh oh

bringing politics into the party :)

Death to the BCS!
Yep

And if the kicker wasn’t drunk Bama wins

And if I wasn't drunk, I'd have a job.
But did you have a good time?
For all you OK State fans

LSU and Bama killed Arkansas….Arkansas dominated KSU, OSU had trouble with KSU…that’s the difference between the SEC and Big 12.

Think of waking up tomorrow and hearing that ___________________ is the national champions

To get in that blank, Alabama only had to win once at a neutral site.
For LSU, they will have had to win twice, once at a neutral site and once on the road.
Having this game makes it completely unfair for LSU. Does bama have a legitimate point as no 2 in the nation? Sure, but they already got beat by this team.

So what? #1 vs #2 is how it's supposed to be

And how it always should be.

And I’d hardly call the Superdome a neutral field

They were saying ticket sales were 50/50.
More like 60/40

And LSU always wins in the Superdome, Bama hasn’t won there for 20 years now

I got my info from talk radio.
forget the damn numbers for a second

You be the coach of LSU tomorrow after they lose (hypothetical) and have to explain why the other team gets to be champions after winning only once

I'd tell them it's because we lost the championship game, that we weren't better when it mattered most(I'd probably apologize too)

What did Belicheck tell his team after they lost the SB to a Giants team they had already beaten earlier in the season?

This is why I want a playoff setup in College, I don’t doubt the result would be the same Anyways then Tigers fans could stop complaining.

oh oh

A TD wins this game

Wait...
Playoffs? You’re talking about playoffs? You’re kidding me
He already pulled off a "We're undefeated in regulation."

I don’t think he’d have trouble explaining much of anything to anybody.

So did Les Miles...
? That's who the coach of LSU is.
And he went undefeated in the regular season
I'm sure that's what he'd say.
He did though

Or does 11-0(or 12 I can’t remember) not mean anything?

I was just talking about the time where he lobbied his team into the championship game by saying they were "undefeated in regulation."

They had two overtime losses.

4 future chiefs on the field
Claiborne?

who

Did RG3 transfer schools?
Who you watchin?
  1. for me.
Stupid formatting. #30, Alabama.
Hightower had a great game
LSU!
Wow, Tebow-like throw.
Only one link at FirstRow Sports.

That surprises me. It will be interesting to see the ratings for this game.

espn 3 is showing this

if you want something more reliable

I'm only mildly interested.

That just surprises me. The NFL playoffs have had like 8 links, at least for the games I’ve looked at.

Lane to the right looked wide-the-hell open
Remember Dorsey on that LSU line? He was a freaking monster.
when he wasn't hurting

Haley did a good job making him an available player for the last 3 years

True. I really wonder what changed.

Is it maybe because he’s more stationary in a 3-4 than when he was chasing QBs?

NFL offensive lineman
+ scheme
I mean why he gets injured less.

I’d think NFL O linemen would cause more injuries.

I gotta ask you Steve and WarPaint (actually curious, not trying to be overaggressive)

Without bringing in a numbering system built on political opinion and beating up on no name teams, why do you think Alabama belongs in this game?

SEC > everyone

See also cotton bowl

lol only kidding

I am a Missouri Tigers fan

it is the game presented

I'm not trying to force you into the role of Bama fan

but being satisfied with the status quo isn’t exactly the best way to improve things.

I remember when the Big 12 sent Mizzou to a non- BCS game after an 11-1 season

and a fifth down that gave Colorado a share of the Championship and a Kicked ball by Nebraska that Nebraska turned into a championship.

Life ain’t fair, but I am going to enjoy this game tonite

I thought we lost to Bob Stoops twice

Besides, it still burns my ass that Kansas went to the Orange bowl because we lost a game that we got the privelage of playing in. Then we played Arkansas and kicked the crap out of DMC and the rest of the hogs.

Yep Senior memory
Its OK

wish I had a senior memory after seeing that crap go down

For one the first game was extremely close

And two, to be honest, I think they’re the two best teams in the country. The two best TEs should play each other in the NC, even if they’ve played each other.

So Stanford and Clemson should be playing?
The two best TEs should play each other in the NC
For one the first game was extremely close

And two, to be honest, I think they’re the two best teams in the country. The two best TEams should play each other in the NC, even if they’ve played each other.

Great run

Rip hamstring

Oh, that's not good.
Maze is no Arenas.
Anybody ever hear anyting about Arenas' injury?
No.

It didn’t look bad to me, and since we haven’t heard anything…..

...Must be bad.

I’m gonna assume that he’ll never be the same player, and add nickel back to my mock.

it didn't look bad though
silence=extremely bad
Haven't heard anything on Flowers either.
it's horrible. They had to amputate it
and rebuild it

like Inspector Gadget

or the 3 million dollar man
Only 3 mil?

Hunt is cheap with the cap money again!

We can rebuild him

We have the technology

I’d rather rebuild the O-Line first….

And the money (at least what Clark will spend).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbf4goeEP6o

+punt returner
No way, a field goal?!?!?
Game over, man.
You aint heard?

They actually play defense in the SEC.

Is that it or are the offenses just flat out shitty?

Remember, Brodie Croyle was a god in the SEC

So was Cam.
Stole the title of "best player money can buy" from Reggie Bush
USC thought so
damn ugly Bama women
Huh?

Next ticket to Tuscaloosa, please
yeah bring her by my place I'll take that ugly one
Yeah

if that is “ugly”…wow…

Conference o' Champs will win that title back soon, I've no doubt.
I would prefer an o-lineman but i wouldnt be mad if we got richardson in the 1st.

The guy is so hard to bring down.

He'll have to be

running behind our line as it is

Unless we got a free agent and someone in the later rounds.
RG 3 player of the year

Q ot F?

wat?
Quarterback of the Future

Hopefully KCs future

trade up, then YES!!!!!
HOW ABOUT THEM COWBOYS?!!!!
Watching the game just like the rest of us
How about them clones
the force is strong with this one
Ooo, Hightower not dealing well with the running QB on that last one.
I think he is slow
so...

Do we have consensus here? Is LSU the Chiefs NCAA farm team or what?

What.
it's a baseball term

moving minors players to majors

He said "or what"

I’m choosing the latter.

Sucks when you have to explain it.
sorry for being slow =(
It's ok.

You’re still a hero.

u geared me Tark

This goes back to the previous regime too!

I don't know what that means.

So I’ll just assume it’s a compliment.

*heard

iPhone spellcheck fail

Oh.

So it wasn’t a compliment.

I don’t think four players over pretty long period of time is significant.

just being glib :)
I don't know what that means.

So I’ll just assume it’s a compliment.

horrible farm team

might as well hire dayton and get it over with

hahaha

So am I right or what?

No

When we think we Have Piolo figured out, he drafts UConn guys

ikr

maybe we’ll find a hosmer or moose this year

Seems like it

Im hoping our qb is from Baylor though

dammit

time to go to work

just be careful walking on independence at night
A necessary evil

Bills don’t stop just because I stop paying them

Have a good one :)
good sign we get carr signed with romeo on board
$710,000 TD pass?

damn tebow

Eh? Thought his bonus was 250k.
espn just said it after the commercial break
The rarity of a Tebow pass makes them more valuable
I thought he got 250k for the win

Where does the 700 club number come from?

shut up (trying to trick people here)
oh my bad
So, how many people have honey badger pics que'd up?
Yikes

Honeybadger just got played

Honebadger didn't care enough.
This Bama offense

is Cassel-esque

so bama's going to win?
By that you mean

non-moving, bad passes and interceptions on screens?

Their D is

85 Bear-esque

Dink along with dunk
watching this game is like watching the steelers play the ravens

good D crappy everything else

and right on que

a fantastic play

Wow, good catch.
the best chief player to come out of alabama

derrick thomas

Maybe not just best Chiefs' player. One of the best NFL players
OMG the alabama Qb is channeling his inner tebow

RUN hide yo kids hide yo wife cause he’s throwing everybody out here

so how bad was tebow mania on espn today
I'm sure Skip Bayless

was as giddy as a 15 year old schoolgirl

He was hyper and excited.

Of course he downplayed all the injuries on the Steelers even though any injury Denver has is the reason the Broncos lost….he then said that when Decker got hurt, Tebow got better so Decker was the problem with Tebow in the other games.

Pitt was missing their ENTIRE defensive line. Plus Woodley.

Four out of their five line of scrimmage guys were backups.

I thought I had heard they were only missing Ryan Clark. Who comes up w/ this stuff?

Also their Pro Bowl center.

And Ben’s ankle. Basically a shell of themselves from when we played them.

And

Hampton and Keissel got hurt in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game.

I saw skip talking about tebow

I’m now a daily church goer

LOVE ME!
$50
Selling yourself short aren't you?
it's not his fault

it’s what he’s born with

Honey Badger TOOK that tackle.
Who is this Honey Badger.

And at which strip club does she work?

Personally, I don't see the resemblance.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
what does lenny dawson and kyle orton have in common

they both went to purdue

And both like to sip that whiskey.

If that what it takes to bring us a SB

Block party

Seymour strikes again
did the faiders fire hue yet
Hope not

He can keep them sucking for years to come. Carry the dumbass torch for al

Seems to be the hot topic all of a sudden
I'd rather have Peyton
pretty good game thus far

So this is what it looks like when 2 good teams play each other. Ok so which 5 players will the chiefs draft since they have a hard on for LSU peeps

those 5 blockers
oh it's the blocking

I thought you were supposed to let the other team run by

LSU is all underclassmen

have to put up with this for at least another year.

Claiborne is pretty much it

I swear that cell phone commercial pisses me off

I would punch those douchebags in the face

well if we sign matt flynn in FA will that count
so we can have another cassel?
Manning luck or griffin iii

Or bring Orton back

Don't want Bama O-lineman
That verifies that we'll pick one up
Don't want Bama running back
no HIV 2 tebow?
He does have a mean cold sore...
why not? he's a younger TJ
I think you just answered your own question
did you see TJ in his younger years?

He was a beast

mccarron is running around everywhere
Steve, what do you think of that Mosely guy? From Auburn.
Don't know
Rob Rang seems to like him.

Sounds like he’d be a great tackle prospect in the third round or so.

Saw him in the bowl game

He was pretty good, can really get downfield to block on the move. I know JC would love him.

May need a year of seasoning until he hits the field.

Think he could beat out Barry?
how about mims playing next season
I'm down with that.
Maybe not the first few games

Or even the first year, he’d still need to transition from the Auburn offense.

But eventually Yes he would.

Seems like a great Pioli-type pickup. I hope he doesn't blow up the combine.
Why not?

They’re dominating these Tigers, especially in the pass game

Jones is a great looking Oline prospect
Gyot dayum, these DBs hit.
IS RG3 officially coming out or not or is he going to decide tomorrow
i thought he was coming out
I heard The Desicion comes tomorrow.
This closet is comfortable

Shelly and Smelly
vs
Mingo and Wingo

or Sindy with an S. That's sexy
How much dough did romeo get on his 3 year contract
enough to make a doughnut
John Carter? OMG the terminator is coming
john Connor?
Thise one has been a snoozer
I like defense in football,

but I hate pitchers’ duels in baseball. Weird, huh?

I like both.

But wouldn’t like either all the time.

ESPN "they could play against the saints on saturday night."

LOL and drew brees will have a record breaking night

thats the worldwide leader making up talking points again

gives them something to do in between servicings of Tebow

how about giving up 2 #1 for brees

if he becomes a free agent and gets tagged

Yeah, these teams are scary on defense.

Mizzou better get extra buckles for their chinstraps.

this game is boring

where’s the tebow commentaries?

I know everyone talks about how good these Defenses are

but at what point do we start questioning how bad these Offenses are?

it's very palko-esque
When someone outside the SEC wins a championship.
Hard to do that when they're fixing the game.
my thoughts exactly
ell oh ell.

Who would beat either one of these teams tonight? Allow me to start my rebuttals early:

Oregon had their chance, they were favored, and they lost.

OK State lost to Iowa State.

And the Packers couldn't have possibly won the Super Bowl.

Considering they were lucky to make the playoffs.

Not saying a playoff wouldn't be better.

Just addressing your implication that this game is fixed. The two best looking teams are playing tonight.

I think the Ducks are the best looking team.

Such badass helmets
ok state would

Have embarrassed either of these teams tonight and the sec knew it that’s why the bs system had to make sure it was two sec teams playing. The bcs championship game is a joke

Except they lost to an unranked in-conference team.
So one bad game means they couldn't possibly beat these two teams?
I don't think their defense would be able to stop either team.

and becuae both Bama and LSU can pressure with 7, I don’t think they would be able to score on them like they can in the Big 12.

It means that in a shitty world with no college playoff, they blew their chance to be playing tonight.
You are joking right?

Ok state barely beat KSU who was handled by Arkansas who got killed by Bama and LSU. Both these teams averaged over 30 points per game. The only reason they can’t score is because they are the 2 best defenses in college. Remember everybody said Oregon would run all over Auburn last year…they didn’t. They also didn’t on LSU this year, but did against every other team. The BCS didn’t make sure….Bama is in it because of the polls which the media and coaches voted for Bama….if it was up to the BCS computers, OK state would have got in.

Transitive property doesn't apply to sports
Yes I know

It’s the only comparison though. I was more showing the difference in conferences and not just teams.

The big difference is...

Big 12….entertaining
SEC…boring

Come on

The SEC is better football. I think that these defenses are so good, it seems boring….but there are better players in the SEC.

Better football? 12-0 from 4 field goals is not good football let alone better football

Shit is boring, at least there are some NBA games on

If either of these teams were playing a Big 12 team

they would score many TDs and their D would stop them.

I love how so many people in here dog on the Big 12 and want to blow the SEC

Wonder how many are Mizzou fans. Probably most.

Big 12 had one bowl game against the SEC, and K State got whooped.
Not denying that.

But I refuse to go along with everyone in the SEC are football gods and unbeatable by anyone not in the SEC.

Man, I hope that's true.
Haven't lost in a BCS title game

excpet tonight. Oregon has run over every team they played in the last 2 years except Auburn last year, and LSU this year….so they prove it on the field every year.

It was KState

I like the Cats almost as much as my Sooners, but they were never the best matchup for Arkansas. Their game plan seemed a bit off and when got behind the chains from throwing on 1st and 2nd, they were kind of hosed.

I had this game going one of two ways, 1) Ends like the OU/KSU game or 2)Ends like the OSU/KSU game. I never had KSU winning it. Don’t act like it’s a huge surprise and some kind of revelation as to why the SEC is “better” than the B12.

Big 10

Alum….grew up in Kansas…the SEC is much better. Big 12 played zero defense.

SEC = Zero Offense
Look at the points Alabama and LSU put on every team they played, except each other.

Alabama never scored below 24, LSU never scored below 35. Until they played each others’ defenses.

I’m definitely not saying that every SEC team can beat every non-SEC team. I’m not even saying the SEC is the better top-to-bottom conference. But so far, nobody has proven otherwise.

It isn't all offense with their scoring

They get a LOT from their STs and Defense.

So, you DO admit they have good defenses.

:)

Yes

I will never concede that they play exciting football…unless it’s Arkansas, on occasion (that bowl game did NOT qualify!).

Your exciting is not my exciting.

I like it when you’re on the edge of your seat because ONE play can break a game. Score-fests, the only suspense is in who gets the ball last. Might as well just skip to the last four minutes.

I don't know about you

But the only time I got to the edge of my seat last night was when the kid broke his leg…that about sent me out of the room. That was AWFUL. Hope he heals up alright.

Yeah, I always like to see turnovers

because watching offensive players play defense and vice versa is fun…but sometimes I guess it’s not the safest thing.

Wow that was ugly

It was a Theismann/Krumrie moment to be sure. I’ve never seen someone go down like that.

At least when we was riding off on the cart, he didn't look too bad.

They had his knee wrapped, but he was sitting up just looking depressed. So hopefully it looked scarier than it was.

Here's hoping

I don’t recall too many legs looking like that. Yikes.

Oh wow

Im a PAC-12 fan and i shake my damn head.

Oh well it’s boring to you, and if you lived in the 50s-80s you wouldn’t have been a football fan.

And I love the lakers but basketball is about as exciting as watching paint dry

NBA regular season game > field goal contest
Remember that Rose Bowl last week? That was exciting college football
Alamo Bowl

That was fun.

Arena League.
Pfft!

There was zero defense, I’ll give you that. It still didn’t make it any less exciting.

It’s those games that are fun for all football fans to watch; not a snoozefest like last night. That was like watching the Chiefs/Pats game…only worse cause no one ever broke loose.

Defense is being de-emphasized "by rule" to draw in

CASUAL fans. Fans that haven’t watched football before and don’t know anything about it. Just like every other business, the NFL goes after new market share. When a business does that, existing customers almost always suffer a watered-down version of the product they used to enjoy.

The NFL is trying to change itself to be more attractive to shorter attention spans….. One touchdown per minute, yay! MOAR content for Redzone, yay! fart

exactly my point

And coaches who can be influenced by sec money chose an sec team to be in it its a joke if a team wants a shot at a national title anymore then they will have to join the sec first

I guess you didn't know that in 2008 the SEC

tried to lobby for a plus one so 4 teams would be in the mix and not just 2….funny how everybody talks about the SEC as having an edge but people forget OU got into the title game over after getting destroyed by KSU in the Big 12 Champ, and in 2003 (I believe) AUB was undefeated and was left out.

History of the BCS is driven by the Big Ten and Jim Delaney.

SEC wanted at least a plus one from the start.

That there youtube
if u are jeff fisher would u take the rams or miami job

if u take the miami job, your new buddy will be king carl peterson

but you wouldn't be stuck in St. Louis

and you’d have that cool 15 year Super Bowl plan…

rams. They have a good QB and WR corp. Bad O-line. Ok defense and ok ST
they have horrible WRs.
Honey Badger dyes?!! Dammit
John Madden should do these games

BOOM with the circle

Insurmountable lead.
Is jefferson available?

The chiefs will definitely hire him

did u see marty getting an interview for the tampa bay job
tamba bay????? Defense????? are they reinstating the tampa 2 D?
I kinda hope marty gets the job
Will we ever see a good BCS game?

Siri: No

About the time there is a real playoff
I believe there are 3 future bama players on the field

Hightower
Lester
Maze

They have more underclassmen than that.
For the chiefs Tark
mas how about the chiefs get your boy

michael floyd

Aint happening

But I’d take it. A new Bowe cheaper minus the drops

They are all CURRENT Bama players

and only FUTURE if they come back next season. Now, how many future Chiefs players…hmmm…

Is Matt Cassel playing for LSU with Haley calling plays?

Jefferson is 6 of 7 for 26 yards.

Something to keep this game exciting

I've got the Asian Plauge!!! F Asian fever!
Dont look at a pic without her hands there.

I promise it will ruin it for you

Who is this?

I wish to marry her

lets package palko in with the deal with the rams for the #2 pick
Palko, Piscitelli and toss in McGraw for veteran leadership

that should about do it.

I just realized I have no idea what BCS stands for

Bullshit College System?
Bought Championships for SEC?

You know the Big Ten was the big pusher for the current BCS system?

The SEC wanted the plus one from the start.

I should say, Slive wanted the plus one.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaah

Roll Tide Roll

YAWN...............

I think I’ve seen these highlights before, like a couple of months ago.
When will the LSU – OK State highlights be on?
Oh, that’s right, the BCS is owned and operated by the SEC.

Highlights?

Of what? LSU dominating OSU?

ikr?

jefferson might have 50 or more yards. That’s outrageous

He probably would

Not the first time shaky offenses have been shut down by dat Bama D

Nope, it's the Big Ten.

Read Death to the BCS.

whats the over under on this game
under 300 yards total
wouldnt that be the total combined for both boring ass games they played
LSU defense is confused?

So run run throw=LSU pro defense

Throw Throw Run=confused?

Now watch Richardson just run over this tired Tiger D in the 2nd half
yesss halftime FG challenge

finally something worth watching

These halftime competitions thrill me.
After seeing that, what's everybody think of Succop's contract? Not such a bad deal, huh?
Better subject

Why did Romeo only get a 3 year deal

Because

more than three straight Super Bowl wins would be bad for the league.

Good question

If he does horribly well know the answer

Horribly well would be good.
So two seasons and a lame duck head coach
He dealt well with lame duckness this year.
Extensions are still allowed.
Meant to say we'll

Autocorrect didn’t autocorrect like it thought he would

that was about exciting as the first half

That announcer was pretty sweet too. Is rather watch paint dry.

who was romeo oc when he coached the browns
Mo Carthon was for awhile.

Until Romeo fired him.

Chudz with the Panthers
LAWLZ

that ref just bit it

i can't see romeo giving carthon a shot again
wow another fg.....exciting
Tide picking up right where they left off

Which team isnt supposed to be here again?

I think LSU still has all its bullets
They should use one to shoot me in the head for watching this game
You people are not purists.
Purists would just let the vote decide the championship

and not have this silly game.

I disagree. Purists would want it decided on the field in a playoff.
Div II is pure, but not televised often.

D2 is some good football

Not a purist? Why, because I can't stand two defenses beating the shit out of offenses?

I want give and take, back and forth. That doesn’t mean offensive shootouts, that means two teams who make adjustments, change things up, take advantage of a weakness, adjust to hide their weakness and play to a strength. I am perfectly happy with a 12-9 game if it is done right.

This, is two defenses, that’s it. The offenses are horrible. There is no chess match, it’s two boxers standing there with their hands up, its two MMA fighters just sitting in guard.

Purists, whatever. If you think that then you don’t know football. Football has 3 sides to it, offense, defense, and special teams. When it’s only defense then it sucks.

I was kinda joking,

but these are not bad offenses. Look what they did to the rest of their opponents this year.

Alabama 43rd in yardage, LSU 60th

nothing special

check that

Bama 30th, LSU 73rd

Oh, but they were playing SEC defenses.

/circular logic

brian billick anyone for oc
Did you see his Ravens offenses?

Besides, he could get a HC gig easy if he wanted to.

yeah but he did okay with moss in minnesota

it might of been more players than coaching

I think time has proven that theory.

Related: See Haley, Todd

yeah just hoping we get someone good
Me too.

That will probably make or break the Romeo era.

chan gailey or weis would of been great
Yes, somebody who can build and run an offense on their own, let Romeo worry about the defense.
MORE FIELD GOALZ!!!!

This is football at its finest

Damn I would love the Mizzou mascot to break that trophy
For everybody who thinks this is bad offense instead of good defense, check these teams' records.

Alabama put 24 or more on seven SEC teams plus an early Penn State. LSU put 35 or more on seven SEC teams plus Oregon.

I agree, its good defense, just boring

in two games they have 11 field goals. Yawn.

Skip Bayless must be loving this game.

Since he thinks field goals should be taken out of football.

You're kidding.
Not at all.

He pretty much wants all kicking (except for punting) removed from football.

Would it then be called Skipball?
He was ranting about it (again)

after the Stanford kicker missed. He’s dead serious.

I'm glad I don't have TV at work.
You want a link to watch it on your computer?
is he proposing a name change for the sport too?
Probably.

It would fit right in with the rest of his stupid ideas.

Everybody is complaining lmao

With all theSe high powered offensive bowl games they’ve forgotten what defense really looks like It seems.

And the nancy NFL anti-defense pro-ADD rules.
I'm glad the *National Championship will be decided by kickers
Decided by linebackers and safeties.
Defenses don't exist I suppose

And one kicker it seems like

Maybe Oregon shouldn't have got that ass whipped.
I don't like the kick off from the 35 in te nfl that needs to change

but they did it for player safety

0 for 6 on 3rd down

Cant stop Bama

OK

the Honey Badger nickname has ran its course. Please make it stop

Game is kinda boring...

The idea of Trent Richardson and jamaal Charles hs got me intruiged

So if Bama wins...

When do they have the rubber match?

But when you play in the same division as Tebow, FG's won't win you games

They're just previewing the new BCS format......

Best of five series.

Damn, that was ugly.
Hell, I say KC should draft any of these Alabama players,

they would be right at home with all the field goals KC can muster.

I'll take

any of the Bama LBs.

Groin tear?
I think it's his knee
My groin cries sometimes.
Mine curses.

But I think his is broke.

Nope, looks like a knee after all.

Thank God.

Dudes knee snapped on that tackle
Is that Matt Cassel playing for LSU?
Cassel would have succumbed to the phantoms.
i thought palko still had some eligibility
Practice Squad?
Ahahaha oh Tigers

Damn I hope CJ is okay he’s an up and coming defender for Bama.

Richardson doesn't really look all that great against an NFL defense.
Just say no

to drafting a RB in the first round.

Unless he’s scary good, like Larry Johnson.

He's

bigger and faster then Ingram I think.

Not bigger weight wise, has more muscle and a lower center of gravity
You get the impression they just beat up on lesser teams and a good RB looks great.

He doesn’t look like somebody to elevate a team.

Man, the Tide has this LSU offense all discombobulated. That QB is having a very bad day.

It's the work of Saban

he is so good. Either of these teams would put up big points against any other team.

This is an old-fashioned whoopin.

I think these kids have forgotten what Marty Ball was all about.

13-10 losses in the postseason?
15-0 whoopins in the regular season.

Beating the Raiders……

Romeo will take your 15-0

and raise you 28-0.

While they haven't been wildly successful between the 20s, I love the way the extra wides brings the LSU secondary UP.

Gonna mug your guys at the line, and somebody(ies) is(are) gonna blitz. One thing I’ve hated about KC D for many years is how the extra wides usually makes the Chiefs back off. At least RAC’s not as bad as Gun was, but I love this aggressive D.

Sounds like Gunny might be available soon.
did they can him
Just rumors.
Runnin' soft zone behind the blitz is something even the NFC Playbook guys were pointing out.

I just always felt Gun made his name on dominant d-linemen. Talked like he was Patton and schemed like he was Montgomery.

Because theyre selling out to stop the run

Leaving the WRs wide open deep, sorta the opposite of the Washington two deep prevent defense against RGIII and Baylor

He impacts the game in more ways then just the stat sheet.

from rotoworld

The body of Packers OC Joe Philbin’s son, Michael, was discovered and identified in Oshkosh, Wisconsin’s Fox River after a police search Monday.
It’s believed Michael Philbin, 21, fell through the ice early Sunday. His body was found in roughly 15 feet of water, 30 yards from shore, at around 4PM ET Monday. Michael’s friends in Oshkosh filed a missing person’s report Sunday night after he was nowhere to be found throughout the day. Joe Philbin, Green Bay’s fifth-year offensive coordinator, is currently away from the team.

Saw that earlier today

So sad.

One minute riding high and the next...
LSU still has a chance.
They're down by four scores.

That’s a lot to overcome.

AKA KC touchdowns.

(KC touchdown = 3 points)

Oh I see what you did there!

Very clever, those parenthetical explanations.

Wasn't sure if it was clear to all in the peanut gallery.
That has to be my least favorite play in all of football.

Hell Cassel’s at quarterback and Muir is calling plays.

This one sure feels like it's over
Lacy is looking better than Richardson right now
Am I right.?
No. But he is looking good
You should see Jalston Fowler.

The big fella sitting behind him.

Les Miles is foolish for not benching Jefferson
Or Les Miles' lucky streak has finally come to an end.
If he puts Lee in, I bet he moves the offense better than Jefferson, which doesn't take much

Feel like Palko is out there!

Uh, no not quite.....no interceptions!
yes, the shovel pass deal jefferson attempted was picked..
Oh, must have happened when I was at the head.
Is it true he's changing his name to Les Points?
Lacey is a beast
Such a tight spiral, too.
Got a question here come week 1 do u see matt cassel as the starting qb for kc

if not who.

What's the record for most attempted FG's

by one team in a Nat’l Championship game??

In an odd way I feel like I am watching the Chiefs play themselves.

One team can’t move the ball at all (mainly because can’t throw down field) the other can move the ball pretty well, but can’t get the ball into the end zone.

So it’s like watching the Chiefs w/ Orton (Bama) VS. the Chiefs with Palko (LSU) ??

Bama doesn't deserve to be in this game

LSU vs OK state all the way

How can you say that when theyre up 15??
I'm joking

Just poking fun at everyone complaint about the match-up, Bama should have won the first and it’s why they’re here now.

They shouldn't have lost to Iowa State, then.
exactly.

Essentially it comes down to to 1-loss teams. OSU lost to an unranked opponent and Bama lost to the number 1 team in the nation… Not to meantion in overtime

At home.

Scoring 6 points.

6 LSU points = 42 Iowa State points.

It’s like dog years.

Missing 4 field goals

Against the 2nd best defense in the nation

Bama's kicker should get the MVP

But I’m sure he wont

don't know how he can't get it...he's got all the points!
Tebow will get the MVP.
isu was down 21 in the second half againest okie state
I've never understood how dominant defenses make for a good football game

I’ve always found the chess match of it fun. How teams make adjustments, take advantage of weaknesses, take away the other teams strengths. A game of nothing but defense is just plain boring.

There is all that strategy in defense, too.
I don't want it in just defense, I want it in the entire game.
Nothing but offense is old

SorRy but maybe the first couple times was awesome and unexpected, but seeing it every week nearly every single game, and now in the bowl season…yawn. Sweet the Saints put up another 40 points what else is new?

Needed a good change-up, I grew up watching and enjoying Chiefs defense in the 90s so I feel right at home.

LSU offense is helpless
I haven't even noticed Chapman tonight.
How about the rest of the D?

Nose Tackle isn’t a glory position

There's some white guy on their line hogging all the glory.
have they shown pioli yet in the crowd with his half alabama and lsu jersey

He’s watching the game at home on his treadmill

Richardson looks like a guy who's just used to pressing forward, while his line pushes people backwards.
Ahaha noticed that too huh?

Run blocking looking downright putrid tonight, whatever LSU’s problem was the first game they fixed in the meantime.

Trent Richardson is probably the strongest guy on the team.

He benches like 500 pounds.

I remember a play when he was a true freshman where he broke literally 5 tackles and went long for a TD.

These defenses are on another level.
"Fear the Tide, Honey Badger"
I am really tired of the whole "Honey Badger" thing.

I am almost to the point where I want to throw something at the TV every time they say “Honey Badger”

"Honey Badger"
yup..
Honey badger

Don’t give a fuck

alabama's defense looks dominant against a hapless offense.

LSU couldn’t block downfield if they try. They get to the second level and quit. This is the #1 team?

Lol keep talking, Mizzou fan.

Clueless. It’s OK, you’ll figure it out next season.

Tebow laughed at that option play
Lol at non-Big 12 team running the option.
Lol because LSU would light up a big 12 team with that option.
Ha, no.

That’s one thing the SEC can’t do well.

Tebow is praying for you.
I've seen good option play.

What the Broncos do ain’t it. Whatever that was LSU just tried, ain’t it.

LSU couldnt light up P&L with that option
Lol OK buddy.

See you next year when Mizzou are crying on their jerseys because they have to actually play against a defense.

And Cassel throws incomplete on the screen pass

I mean Jefferson

Lol yeah he's not playing too hot.
i think its time for the palko hail mary now
Still want Hightower

Wonder if he’ll be there in the 2nd

I think he'll run slow in the combine and drop.
little weed might help too
Then we could get him in the 3rd

Sweet

I need some kind of weed gun.
Bongs away!
I'll be damned, there actually is such a thing.

Smokin' find!
Yeah, I think he will time bad

Could see a drop like Brandon Spikes.

That fact that he is a pure 34 ILB also hurts his stock. I have mocked Hightower to us for a long time. See him as the perfect fit at SILB and a future All Pro player.

I think the ravens might draft him

Tbh

Didn't they draft Martez Wilson last year?

He was another one of my favorite ILB prospects last year.

Saints got him.

I could see the Ravens getting Hightower. They seem to collect all the good defensive players who are over-sized for their position.

I could see them going after Burfict honestly
Yeah, that might be the best place for him.
good chance
so alabama

who lost a home game and didn’t win their conference, will be champion? love this system.

who are you suggesting SHOULD be champion???
i dont know who should be

but this system is terrible. look at the overall resumes if you want. Alabama didn’t win their conference, beat LSU once. LSU won the SEC, beat the Pac 12 and Big East champion, beat Alabama once.

thats whats so absurd about this system

they could have just cancelled the previous game they played. It didn’t matter at all.

HA.

So your saying there should be no championship game? LSU should have won it after they beat Georgia? LMAO this is why college football sucks there are whiners EVERY year.

every other division of college football has playoffs

why shouldn’t the top division do the same?

Im not arguing against that.

All im saying is Bama clearly deserves the championship this year and I dont doubt they would have won a playoff bracket either. And tell me how you would set up the bracket… If you have a 16 team bracket, what do you do with the other 150 teams?

how does bama clearly deserve it?

LSU won the SEC, beat the Rose, Orange and Cotton Bowl winners, and Alabama. Bama beat the SEC champion and the Cotton Bowl winner.

For a playoff, conference champions from the current BCS conferences and some at large teams. If other divisions of college football can figure it out, I’m sure the top one could.

Bama just totally dominated LSU.

This wasnt even close man. I could MAYBE see your argument if it was a close game but you just have no argument here man. It doesnt matter who else they beat because they just played each other.

they already played once

bama lost.

That doesn't count.

If you’re a Bama fan.

did you not see the ass kicking bama gave lsu in the 2nd game?

stop being blind.

In the NFL

You can beat a team twice in the regular season, have a better record, and then lose to the same team in the playoffs & go home. That’s just how it is.

The other 150 teams have less than a 2% chance of making it through the playoffs.

So nobody cares about them. Just like the NFL playoffs.

Thats not like the NFL.

The NFL has 32 teams.

And the ones left out of the playoffs have no bitch-worthy shot to win the Superbowl.
Thats not the point im trying to make though.

What im saying is we’re talking about about 100 teams knowing that they have nothing to play for before their season even starts because they know they wont make it in the top 16. Then we’re talking about about 40 teams that are in the top 40% in the nation but dont get to have any type of ppost season. In the NFL 12 of 32(about 38%) get to have an offseason

Right now, there are maybe 8-10 teams that have a realistic shot at a national championship every year.

A playoff could increase that to 16.

Same principle, though.

There will be teams who complain about not making the playoffs, but nobody will say the best team was possibly left out.

Because the system sucks.

Nobody bitches about who is Super Bowl champion.

/notwithstanding Seahawks vs. Steelers

What is stopping Bama from dominating a BCS playoff

We might be seeing Bama vs ? Instead of LSU

What's stopping them is such a playoff doesn't exist.

It’s easy to say they would just cruise in a playoff format, but we have no idea if they would or not. 6 seeds have won the Super Bowl, winning three road games and one neutral site game.

I think they do well in a playoff format

Theyre built for it, great defense and running game.

Sounds like the Chiefs of the '90s.
co champs. Bama and OSU.
Alabama is clearly the much better team.
If you lose to Iowa State, you can't be champ. It's a rule.

I actually think that excludes them from the championship next year, too. I’ll have to look it up.

Haters gonna hate

Its not like LSU deserves the championship, and if we had a playoff system I don’t doubt that Bama would’ve gotten in.

Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State.

Get over it.

Agreed

Not Bama’s fault OK ST sucked it up against IA ST

game over
bring in Bones LSU
Well, there goes that.

I actually thought LSU was going to score there.

Mock Draft - Alabama Edition

1. Dre Kirkpatrick – CB
2. Don’ta Hightower – ILB
3. Josh Chapman – NT
4. Marquis Maze – WR
5. DeQuan Menzie – CB
6. Brad Smelley – FB/TE
7. Chris Underwood – TE

They will be rebuilding after this year.

Good point, though. This is a game of good upper classmen vs good under classmen.

You wouldn't like that draft for this team?

Take Richardson in the first over Kirkpatrick if you want.

Sure, I don't think it quite meets the Chiefs current needs, but it's close, and it would be a good BPA type draft.
Wow

A TOUCHDOWN!

Richardson. Me want.

Buh bye Thomas Jones

He is good, but I am against drafting a RB in the first round, ever
I'm sure you wanted Levi Brown

Over Adrian Peterson too…

AP had a good run

He avoided injury longer than most and then — pop — there goes the knee.

So you think he's done now?

Guess we need a replacement for Charles as well then.

Different running styles

AP’s injury was also worse, and he has more wear and tear on his body.

Man, he gets stuffed all night, and one break redeems him?
Richardson is Thomas Jones before Jones lost his speed
You're joking right?

Richardson is a stud, and will continue to be one in the NFL.

Jones was a stud at one time.

But I disagree with Britt. Jones is smaller and shiftier than Richardson. There’s this legend around KC of Jones being a power back, but he never was, unless you compare him to guys like Charles.

Hell yeah

Its the one time the blocking was decent, the rest of the time defensive linemen are coming through the line to hit him and they’re gang tackling.

So basically, he's just a regular running back who needs good blocking.
I didn't say he was Barry Sanders

Every RB needs the blocking up front, I don’t care who you are if you’re consistently getting hit by DL in the backfield and your OL is consistently getting pushed back you’re not going anywhere.

Normal RBs don’t have anywhere near the same skill set, normal RBs wouldn’t have had the speed or the patience or the vision to get that TD.

Wouldn't have happened if the TE hadn't sealed the edge
Exactly the one time blocking was good all game

And trex goes for a TD hammering the nail into the coffin of LSUs hopes and dreams.

And it still would've been a great run regardless

Trent Richardson had to stop on a dime to make that play happen, Fowler would’ve buried himself into a lineman and it would’ve been a 3 yard run.

There ya go Trent.
Congrats Bama!
Ha thanks homie wish I had anything to do with it.

It’s just nice to feel like my team is without a doubt the team to be rooting for.

I’ve had my doubts with the Royals over the years, you know..

You oughta rub some of that off on Arrowhead.
Arenas and McClain are trying their best

maybe we can grab Trent to help out them and Jamaal Charles.

I'll shoot some weed at him.
And everybody doubted the T-Rex, and what does he do? Lay the hammer down

All you gotta do is block halfway decently and let him do the rest.

Do you think Saban directed the kicker to miss the PAT

so it looked like Bama scored 3 TD’s?

lol. yes, totally
time for another Bama TD
They know they lost and don't care anymore.
kc 2012 draft

All bama players!

Mock draft above
I predict that won't happen.
Bold prediction.
I think I'm going to coin some nicknames next.
Let me know if you need help
Alabama outphysicaled them
Man Upshaw is dumb.

I wish they’d quit talking to him lol.

seriously

why do we keep getting these crappy BCS bowls? I rather have baylor vs Oregon

Just because it's all offense

Doesnt mean the game would wouldn’t be any less crappy

At least there'd be some excitement

The only people that get excited about the crap we got last night are fans of those schools. And the dirtbags running the BCS.

It's you.

YOU’RE the one outlawing defense in the NFL. STOP THAT!

It was MEEEEEEEEEEEE!

And I’ll do no such beast.

Well if Baylor and Oregon were the best two teams in the country

then maybe this game would have featured them.

Who would have thought the BCS got it Double Wrong?

Should have been Alabama vs. Oklahoma State…

OK State lost to an unranked in-conference team.

As bad as the BCS is, it amounts to a season-long playoff, and OK State eliminated themselves.

class dominates

over bar beat downs and synthetic weed.

that was the weakest game ive ever seen...voters got it way wrong

the SEC is weak…they may have 2 really good teams and maybe 2 average team but the rest of the conference is weill below average

ignorance is bliss...
that game was turrible

i hope we don’t get the OC from LSU…

Had to
