But our return game was always unproductive, we never blocked kicks, and we were consistently below average overall
ST Rankings according to Football Outsiders:
2008: 30th
2009: 26th
2010: 24th
2011: 19th
FWIW, McMahon’s squads weren’t much better and NE is almost always Top 10.

I wouldn't say the return game was unproductive
We don’t get a lot of TD’s in the return game, but we rarely have mistakes either. McCluster and Arenas both play the ball well, and more often than not make good decision as to whether to return, fair catch, or let a punt bounce. How many times did we stick an opponent inside their 10 or 5, as opposed to how many times we were stuck close to our end-zone? We gave up only one return TD all year.
Our ST isn’t flashy, but I think the adjective “solid” is perfectly personified. Why Hoffman just screwed the pooch during the Oakland game is anyone’s guess, but overall, I’d say he’s done a pretty good job.

So,like I said in the deleted thread, I went to a career fair today.
And it’s kind of sad that the most noteworthy part was that I was wearing a suit. Usually I make Haley look clean cut, so the fact that I made only two fashion faux paus is a huge accomplishment. (In case you were wondering, I forgot to tuck in my shirt and I buttoned the bottom suit button. Not too bad I think.)
