WHEN GUESSING WHERE MANNING WILL GO..... You have to consider how much time he has left to play...he has, at a maximum, 4 years to play. So, he is going to want to maximize his chances of getting to the playoffs. By going to a tough division like the AFC East or the NFC East, he reduces his chances greatly of even making the playoffs..we have seen in recent history teams getting hot at the right time and moving through the playoffs and on to win the SuperBowl...but you have to MAKE the playoffs...you can have a great season and still finish second in your division and miss out on the Wild Card to another team.. New England went 11-5 a few years ago with Cassel and missed the playoffs....in short, I dont see him going to Miami or Washington...its not about money to him, its about winning SuperBowls....he is not afraid to compete with those guys, but the smart move is to increase his trips to the playoffs by going toa weak division...like the AFC West
So has the MNNING watch started now?

KCinAZ - February 10, 2012

Dead horse is dead
BAMFSpecialOps - February 10, 2012

BAMFSpecialOps - February 10, 2012

so you can just move along now
KCinAZ - February 10, 2012
Been some reports
That he’s been practicing at Duke. People that “watched him”(supposedly of course) saying he can’t throw left, has no zip right or deep middle. If thats true he’s gotta wrap it up, or at the very least take another year. Don’t let the over-motivation turn into a Chris Speilman situation
KCinIL - February 10, 2012
yeah
everybody says “I know a guy that saw him throw”….the only first hand news I have heard was Manning himself saying “Im right on schedule”… and his doctors saying “he has been cleared to play”….
KCinAZ - February 10, 2012
This
I don’t want speculation , Im waiting to hear it or see it myself from manning. Or even a real source . Not a friend of a guy who knows a guy who played middle school ball once

a couple of VERY good (and strong) comments on the latest fanpost about Manning
Some clarity about Peyton’s injury
down in the post a ways, one from WorL4Chiefs and another from Routerunner, both are very clear about some deeper issues that Manning MAY be facing and why he MAY even now be better off to simply call it a day and retire while he still has his health

Chris Weinke had close to the same surgery...listen to this interview

about the 7:40 mark
KCinAZ - February 10, 2012
Yes, Manning will want to go to a city where he can win a championship , until Steven Ross offers him $30 million. Manning is going to end up with whomever is going to give him the most money. Ego works like that. And KC is not going to give him the money he wants. I would be shocked if we even worked him out.
Topchief1 - February 10, 2012
After little brother just won ANOTHER ring
he is going to be REALLY itching to win another….The dude is loaded….he will settle for an incentive based contract with the team that gives him the best chance to make the playoffs each year…Going to Miami and competing with Brady for division titles reduces the chances of making the playoffs…
KCinAZ - February 10, 2012
So you're saying the Broncos may pick him up?
ExRoyalsFan - February 10, 2012
maybe
it makes more sense than Miami, in my opinion…whats an easier path to the playoffs?…going against Chargers,KC,Oakland or New england, New York Jets, Buffalo?
That said, they are kinda married to Tebow this year….
KCinAZ - February 10, 2012
Un-holy nuptials
Steve_Chiefs - February 10, 2012
well, since a team can get into the playoffs as a wildcard, that means all the Dolphins would need to do is win 10 games with Manning
the Pats will win their share … so just have a decent enough record and beat out the Jets and Bills … not an overly daunting task
upamtn - February 11, 2012
well lets see
You are competing with the REST of the AFC for wildcard spots if you dont win your division….Like I said…we just saw New England miss the playoffs with Matt Cassel in 08 and they went 11-5….
I dont know what you guys dont understand about this…..are you just arguing to argue?
the AFC WEST IS EASIER TO WIN THAN THE AFC EAST….or the NFC EAST….he has 3-4 years left….he wants 3-4 cracks at winning another Super Bowl…he has a MUCH better chance of making the playoffs EVERY year in a weak division….if he goes elsewhere and only makes the playoffs 2 times in 4 years, he just reduced his chances of winning a SB by 50%…..
In Miami you are in a division with two VERY dominate teams…New England?…need i say more?…and NYJ …2 out of the last three years they have been in the AFC Championship….
Really, IMO, the only reason Miami and Washingtons names are being thrown around is because they “let it slip” that they were interested in acquiring him….Every teams local media is pumping up Manning coming to their city…Arizona is doing it too….because they have Fitz…..but they just paid over 60 million and gave up 2 first rounders for Kolb….no way he comes here, but everybody round here is saying he SHOULD…its all speculation but most of it makes no logical sense….KC makes a lot more sense, TO ME, than any other place…
