Besides the cap issue, the Steelers have the 3 youngsters (Wallace, Brown and Sanders) ahead of Hines. There is also the question of whether the Steelers can resign Cotchery and Wallace is a RFA (expect him to get the 1st round tender offer). Hines is probably 5th on the depth chart behind Cotchery atm but he is a heart and soul type of guy. If the Steelers find a way to keep him (likely by cutting then signing him to vet minimum) then Cotchery is probably gone.
Pittsburgh is $22 million over the cap
Casey Hampton is a cap casualty candidate too

He is done
He has been playing with the Steelers since they drafted him in 1998.
He wants to retire a Steeler. He either retires or signs a really low one year deal.

I don't think he's gonna take a low one year deal (most players probably wouldn't do that)
So yeah I think he’s gonna call it a career.
mistamic - February 11, 2012
Ward posted he would take a pay cut, the question is how much.
I think he is a steeler or retires.
saskwatch - February 11, 2012 via mobile
he also told Pitt that he would restructure his contract to remain with the team
HIT34MAN - February 11, 2012
I guess he will have more time for dancing with the stars
Mas Cervezas - February 11, 2012 via mobile
I think he ends up with the Gotham City Rogues for a few more years
Topchief1 - February 11, 2012
His body is wore out with all those hits he dished out for so many years
He retires. Good career Hines.
