Remember Verran Tucker? The undrafted receiver out of Cal?
The former Chief just signed with the Spokane Shock of the Arena League, which surprised me a little. I thought he had NFL-caliber talent in his short time with the Kansas City Chiefs.
He seemed to be one of the only deep threats for the Chiefs during the 2010 season and finished that season with six receptions for 114 yards for an average of nearly 20 yards per catch.
(Sign you follow your team too closely: Wondering about the loss of a guy that has six career catches and hasn't played in the NFL in a year and a half. What can I say? I get attached.)
While Tucker didn't make an NFL roster, he does enter the Spokane Shock with more NFL experience than anyone else in Shock franchise history. As Shock head coach Andy Olson said, he's proven himself in the "outdoor" game. "Obviously, he has proven himself in the outdoor game and I'm excited to teach him the Arena game," Olson said.
Between this and our Justin Medlock update last week, I think we have our former Chiefs update quota covered.
Oh, by the way, guess who's still playing in the Arena League? Yep, Bobby Sippio. (And former Chiefs LB Pierre Walters.)

Who?
Was he the one who got a TD against the Raiders?

Yep.

If only he had a heralded WR coach in the NFL...

I thought he should have been on the team instead of Urban
Tucker was a deep threat and was pretty decent on special teams

I thought the same
Tucker made some good catches but dropped some really easy ones. The easy ones can be taught and corrected. It’s like Bowe, he can make some great catches and when he pays attention he can catch everything, just when his mind wanders he suddenly has no fingers and can’t catch anything. That’s mental and Tucker had speed and separation, just needed to be polished.

I live about 5 hours from Spokane, so I only make the trip about once a year.
It’ll be cool seeing a player in Spokane that I actually followed.

What about a Rocky Boiman update?
The ginger we had STARTING for us at LB in Herm Edwards last year? That’s when I knew that Herm had to go!

Love the update about Tucker...
I, too, thought he was an NFL quality WR… maybe this will get him some attention to make it back into the league.

It's bs we let him go for Urban.
That guy did nothing for us. Another Haley guy.

disagree
He did tons for us. Taking a spot from a guy who actually had talent. Took potential money from a guy that had actual skills. Plus he did great taking up space on our sideline. He did alot just nothing that had relevance. Lol

I really liked Tucker as well
I think he could have been better with more opportunities. I always wondered why we kept Copper over him.
