The 2012 NFL draft order is officially set except for a couple of tiebreakers remaining. The
Kansas City Chiefs and
Seattle Seahawks both finished with 7-9 records and will conduct a coin toss to determine who's drafting 11th and 12th. The same goes for the
Carolina Panthers and the
Miami Dolphins with the No. 8 and No. 9 pick.
According to multiple reports, those coin flips will be done on February 24 at 6:00 a.m. (Arrowhead Time). Seems a little early but that is Combine week. So we'll have to wait until then to find out whether the Chiefs are picking 11 or 12.
NFL Mock Drafts: Chiefs Pick OT | Chiefs Pick DT | Chiefs Pick OT (Again)
KC lost a coin flip a few years ago, if you'll recall. In 2008 they were in a tie with the
Atlanta Falcons and
Oakland Raiders for the third, fourth and fifth spots in the draft. The Falcons won the same Friday morning coin toss which meant Atlanta picked third (Matt Ryan), Oakland picked fourth (
Darren McFadden) and the Chiefs picked fifth (
Glenn Dorsey).
The complete draft order as we know it now is posted after the jump.

1. Indianapolis Colts
2. St. Louis Rams
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Cleveland Browns
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6. Washington Redskins
7. Jacksonville Jaguars

Let's see here
Injury prone
Lacks moral values
Lacks killer instinct
My prediction? He’ll get paid, be lazy, and bust. (or get hurt)
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
You can say a lot of college athletes lack moral values
because a lot of them are getting some kind of benefit, he just happened to get caught.
KingChief - February 15, 2012
So he lacks moral values
AND he’s an idiot. WHERE DO WE SIGN UP!
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
Right where Justin Houston signed up?
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
no need to be rational
please leave.
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012

Tarkus - February 15, 2012
NFL
should do silent auction for the pick. The team willing to pay more for the higher pick wins. Money goes to charity and doesnt count against cap. :) Its all about the people right?
KSU-Chief - February 15, 2012
I like that idea!
never happen, of course, but I do like it
upamtn - February 15, 2012
They would get zero bids though.
I honestly don’t think GMs see a difference worth paying for of the 11th and 12th picks

kcsno56 - February 15, 2012
it works every time
kcsno56 - February 15, 2012
If we win the toss do we pick 11th in every round of the draft?
Steve_Chiefs - February 15, 2012
Alternating
KansasCityShuffle - February 15, 2012
Thanks
Steve_Chiefs - February 15, 2012
Tails never fails.
50% of the time it works every time.
MtHammer - February 15, 2012
100% of the time it works half the time.
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
Man i missed you posting this already
F me.
kcsno56 - February 15, 2012
Without a doubt
We will have the 11th pick
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
Or the 12th.
One or the other.
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
That's exactly the kind of bold prediction I need for my 2012 predictions file.
MtHammer - February 15, 2012
i say
We trade our first and third round picks for cincinnati’s two first rounders
Brendon - February 15, 2012 via mobile
and then trade those two first rounders
for 10 5th rounders
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
The Patriot Way.
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
the ONLY way
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
Raiders draft when?
Haha dumb Raiders!
NCarolina_Chief - February 15, 2012 via mobile
wow, ha
Oakland Raiders 2012 draft picks:
1st round: Traded to Bengals for Carson Palmer
2nd round: Traded to Patriots for 2011 3rd- and 4th-rd picks
3rd round: Exercised in 2011 supplemental draft (Terrelle Pryor)
4th round: Traded to Redskins for Jason Campbell
5th round: Still own pick
6th round: Still own pick
7th round: Traded to Seahawks for Aaron Curry
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
3 picks tied up in QBs.
And 1 more in 2013. And people think they’re in the hunt for Manning? No way.
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
I hear Terrelle Pryor
Will take Routt’s spot
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
That right there is simply...
… well I have no words…
Eastcoastransplant - February 15, 2012
It's amazing how a coin flip gives us the difference between having Glenn Dorsey or Matt Ryan. This would be an entirely different franchise (winning) if it had gone differently...
tmurawsk - February 15, 2012
I'm not sold on Matt Ryan yet
call me crazy
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
You're not crazy, haha, but there's no doubt that Matt Ryan has had a positive impact on the success of ATL
Dorsey has had a positive impact for our defense, but you can’t defend a notion that a DT is more important position than QB, no way
tmurawsk - February 15, 2012
he is too crazy!
I mean, he said so and who are we to argue, right? :-)
upamtn - February 15, 2012
Haha, that's right!
tmurawsk - February 15, 2012
Not sold...
But over Cassel? Yeah I’d take that. I mean
Ryan (over 4 years) has a 60.9% rating with 14,238 yards and 95TD’s
Cassel (over 7 years) has a 59% rating with 11,699 yards and 76 TD’s.
They have the same number of Int’s.
So 3000 more yards and 20 more TD’s in roughly the same time (as Cassel’s first 3 years in NE he did nothing).
Oh and that first long ball Ryan threw in the NFL? His first pass that went for a TD? Yeah that was nice.
Eastcoastransplant - February 15, 2012
I doubt it.
I think they’d have taken Dorsey anyway. He was considered by most to be the best player in the draft, and he was at a position of need.
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
Dimitrof actually wanted to take Dorsey at #3, but Blank wanted a QB
jmcgoblue - February 15, 2012
Yeah, it was a shock that Dorsey fell to the Chiefs.
I think most Chiefs fans thought of it as a perfect storm, not unlike when DJ fell to them.
Tarkus - February 15, 2012
And he made the correct decision...
tmurawsk - February 15, 2012
Didn't we have Trent Green?
Steve_Chiefs - February 15, 2012
He was a Ram I believe....
tmurawsk - February 15, 2012
in 2008? he was retired ... or should have been
upamtn - February 15, 2012
Quin Gray
Steve_Chiefs - February 15, 2012
thank god we are not flipping for the #2 pick
Steve_Chiefs - February 15, 2012
Haha
this place would explode, either way

OK Joes = most overrated BBQ in KC
Stick with the ABs. Beef+Pork combo, fries, red cream soda, and you good
ArrowDread - February 15, 2012
I think I dislike everything about you.

Why is it you feel that way?

Hoochdawg - February 15, 2012
Ohh forgot about that one
Used to work in north town.
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
Yep, Smoking Guns is the only place
I go when in KC, I love their burnt ends and pulled pork. I always buy a big jar of their rub to use it home when I’ m grilling.
Hoochdawg - February 15, 2012
Beef and pork combo is the shit!
HIV 2 Elway - February 15, 2012
Amen....
I was trying to think of a comparison last night. Its the Napolean Dynamite of KC BBQ. It was cool and kind of kitchy before everyone knew about it but now its too big for its own britches. Its good for whitey BBQ but shit just doesn’t compare to KC’s heavy hitters. BBQ, like music, is best when its fueled by poverty and oppression. Just can’t get that at some suburban wannabe place.
If you like excessively long lines and meager portions, Okie Joes is for you.
HIV 2 Elway - February 15, 2012
Only
hipsters think Ok Joes is bad.
Once it get’s popular… you throw it under the bus.
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
Or, once it got popular the prices went up, the lines got longer and the portions got smaller
HIV 2 Elway - February 15, 2012
Sounds like Chipotle.
severn58 - February 15, 2012
If you can eat a complete order of their fries
you have issues.
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
If you're judging a BBQ place based on their sides you have issues
Hear that shit from all the fucking yuppies who praise Jack Stack. “Oh my god, the cheesy corn!”
HIV 2 Elway - February 15, 2012
It's to descripe their portions...which you claim are small
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
When I'm talking portions at a BBQ place I'm talking about the part that is actually BBQed
HIV 2 Elway - February 15, 2012
by the way, i'm moving on from this convo
Once a guy starts dropping F’bombs in a Chiefs forum on BBQ…it’s time to leave lol.
Brad-KC - February 15, 2012
this is what makes AP great

Yay, a chain joint we have in MD!
MD’s not known for BBQ obviously, so all we’ve really got are chains, Famous Dave’s, Red Hot & Blue, etc. I’ll take RH&B over Famous Daves.

Im sure you can find a nice Tofurkey dog there in NorCal

MarineChiefsFan - February 15, 2012
True.
I saw the comment count on the front page, came in posted that, and scrolled up. And for the record Okie Joes, ABs and Gates are all great. I love good BBQ indiscriminately.
Tomahawk29 - February 15, 2012
It cracks me up when I hear someone trash one of those places
Any of them may not be your favorite, but they are all phenomenal.
You’re trying too hard to be different if you feel the need to say any of them are ‘overrated.’
