Yup, the KU-MU Border War continues tonight, at least in basketball (you know, the game where the ball is round instead of pointy) with both teams ranked in the Top 10. The last two games of this historic series, as the Big 12 conference will soon be losing Missouri.
That's tonight's discussion starter, along with the news of Willie Roaf making the Hall of Fame, and we heard rumors of Brian Daboll talking to the Chiefs for some minor role. Mike Vrabel is still retired and somewhere in the heart of Indianapolis, Peyton Manning and Robert Irsay are attending the same pre-game party.
Enjoy!

And Cassel gets a full offseason with all 3.
It can only get better.

I don't see Cassel being the starter...
unless he wins in camp and Cassel is not a good camp player.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
The question is
who is it that will ‘beat’ him in camp
ExRoyalsFan - February 4, 2012
At this point
that is up in the air.
Kyle Orton
Peyton Manning
Rick(-y) Stanzi
Matt Flynn
Matt Moore
Chad Henne
Eric Crouch
Could be anyone…
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
It will be interesting
LadyChief - February 4, 2012
I honestly think Kyle Orton will be the starter
I’m convinced we will sign him and that he will be confident in his abilities to beat out Cassel

I wouldn't be mad
But I have heard others say that Orton & Cassel have the same agent. How does that play into things?
ExRoyalsFan - February 4, 2012

Tarkus - February 4, 2012
That is not what the Chiefs were saying publicly
But I pick up what you are putting down.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
Eh, they've always said they will start those that give us the best chance to win
Given the complete lack of competition, Cassel has always been the best on the roster when healthy.
ArrowSpread - February 4, 2012
never truly been challenged in camp for the starting job
Hopefully we see Orton signed and Cassel shitting himself at the thought he may actually have to earn the starters job
trentchiefsfan - February 4, 2012
I think Matt Cassel understands the situation.
I doubt a guy that sat on the bench for a million years gets to caught up in free rides.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012

ExRoyalsFan - February 4, 2012

Tarkus - February 4, 2012
Just a hunch
I was actually feeling like it could be a possibility a couple days ago. With the OC hiring, reports about Manning in Miami, etc.. it just feels like chances are getting slimmer the more we learn.
ExRoyalsFan - February 4, 2012
The Daboll
thing kind of hints at no Manning.
I doubt Peyton said… Get me Brian Daboll. Although, Peyton might not care who the figure head is. He still needs someone to teach the rest of the offense his scheme.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
Peyton is the OC
LadyChief - February 4, 2012
Regardless
someone has to prepare the other ten players and position coaches on Manning’s offense.
I would think manning would want some one familiar to help out.
What if Baltimore shit cans Flacco for Manning?
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
That is their one year solvent before that defense starts to die.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012

clamor for Flacco
ExRoyalsFan - February 4, 2012

Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012

Just a step above average. I would not call him good.
ArrowSpread - February 4, 2012

ExRoyalsFan - February 4, 2012

trentchiefsfan - February 4, 2012
good thing we traded that guy.
I love Albert and really love Charles, but Allen and Hali all of this time would have been nice.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
I can deal because it was a twofer
all are good, but Allen alone doesn’t outweigh the two players in Charles and Albert. You can throw out all the crap about Allen being on thin ice and being a risk – just looking player for players, we ended up with better value by sheer quantity… and we did it without tanking quality.
To Trent’s point – I agree Allen deserved it over Suggs. Helluva season Jared.
Ochophosphate - February 5, 2012
Brees is the best offensive player,
but he is not the Most Valuable Player. After all, his back up only threw for zix touchdowns in one game. He is obviously needed more than anyone in the league.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
Rodgers winning the MVP is a complete joke
badassz1987 - February 4, 2012

Steve_Chiefs - February 4, 2012
Funny, PFT's backhanded snide remarks
“In 2011, Brees broke Dan Marino’s single-season passing record, which had stood for 27 years. Brees also set league records for completions (450) and completion rate (71.6 percent).
Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow did not receive any votes."
ArrowSpread - February 4, 2012

Of course, they ride Tebow’s jock as much as anyone.

BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
I never thought greatness when I watched him play.
Tarkus - February 4, 2012
I know he doesn't have as long a track record as Martin
But a guy like Michael Turner reminds me of Martin. Good, consistent back, but not a HOF level player. Maybe they put too many guys in.
BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
The NY factor
Steve_Chiefs - February 4, 2012
He should have Parcells introduce him.
He made him a household name (sort of).
Tarkus - February 4, 2012
That's what I remember............
Parcells couldn’t stop talking about him
LadyChief - February 4, 2012
Yeah, and I never really got why.
I think it’s because his other running backs sucked so bad, he was glad to have someone with a little consistency.
Tarkus - February 4, 2012
The guy almost never got hurt.
That is worth something, but not a yellow blazer.
BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
Agreed.
Tarkus - February 4, 2012
I like Martin eventually, but
To put him in over Chris Carter, is my biggest beef – for two non-championship-winning players, Carter was more impressive to me. Martin was steady, consistent and an extremely well-rounded player. Easily an every down back, good hands, good blocker, good runner. He reminds me a bit of Emmitt Smith, doesn’t strike you as the most athletic or explosive runner, but through exceptional vision and technique was able to excel.
I wouldn’t have a problem with Martin getting in eventually, but some of the players he was chosen over this year… not sure I understand that. I’d put Will Shields, Tim Brown and maybe Andre Reed (iffy) in over Martin.

Moebuis_34 - February 4, 2012 via mobile
The guy who set up TDs for Bowe and Jones?
Tarkus - February 4, 2012
Let's just have it all - Madden style
Manning will throw for 60+ TDs and Charles will have 28 rushing TDs and 40 total (gotta get those recs). Bowe, Baldwin and Breaston will all eclipse 1k yards and 10 TDs, Moeaki will only get about 800 yds but will also clip 10+ TDs.
We will beat every team by at least 60 points, sometimes 80-100. Eric Berry will have 18 INTs, 7 for TD. Hali will have 36 sacks, Houston 20 (cause you just let the AI control him).
Sign me up.

fame rise wise.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
Was that the Neverland kid?
Where it was discovered that MJ had secret rooms where he would hang out with kids.
BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
I think so...........
LadyChief - February 4, 2012
I don't know all the info that in depth.
because I really didn’t care to much about the case at the time.
I like MJ when I was a kid in the 80’s, things were weird after that.
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
He got stranger as he got older
LadyChief - February 4, 2012
His old music is awesome.
Then it became hard to listen to his music without thinking about him as a human.
BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
It was weird how everyone was when he died.

Everyone's taking the Giants
I think The Pats win in a close one. I think the players will want to do it for Kraft with his wife’s passing this past year
trentchiefsfan - February 4, 2012
Most of the predictions I've heard have it going either way
But, on paper, the Giants have more notches in the plus column. Just a better all-around team. How well the Pats run the ball will be the deciding factor, I think.
But I’m still picking the Giants.

BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
young pitching again
niageriannit1 - February 4, 2012
Mediocre pitching, not especially young.
Unless they bring Montgomery and Crow to the rotation. If all the young hitters become good quickly, the Royals could have what the Rangers have right now.
BeauJackson - February 4, 2012
i forgot how many wins did the royals get last yr
niageriannit1 - February 4, 2012
71

upamtn - February 4, 2012
Speaking of that
I got a mess of Raw Chicken Wings and have no idea how to make them Super.
Ideas?
Steve_Chiefs - February 4, 2012
make you some marinate, insert wings in marinate...let marinate
fire up a BBQ and enjoy
Chief-blinders-on - February 4, 2012
what would you put in the Marinade
I got some Teriyaki sauce
Steve_Chiefs - February 4, 2012
It just depends
I would make it hot and sweet, teriyaki could work if you like teriyaki wings.
Usually, you just add stuff until you get the marinade to taste great and enjoy.
You could get a dry rub, there is a lot of stuff you can do. Use some of that stat research, but instead type in marinade recipes. You will find something, get some ingredients and experiment.
