They did it again.
The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI, 21-17, thanks to yet another comeback that reminded you of the Super Bowl these two teams played four years ago, a game the Giants won.
No play will be remembered more than Mario Manningham's 38-yard reception to kick off the Giants comeback drive. It was the first play of the drive and Manningham made an incredible over-the-back reception near the sidelines. He had two guys on him -- one right behind him and a safety coming right at him -- yet he still managed to haul the pass in and keep his feet in bounds. Here's video of that play.
From there, Manning took the Giants down the field before Ahmad Bradshaw punched in the final touchdown with 57 seconds remaining. Bradshaw almost went down at the one yard line so that the Giants could run out the clock but his momentum carried him into the end zone. Here's video of that play.
The Giants are the champs. At least it was a good game.

I hate how unexcited they mostly looked.
I wish a team that hasn’t won it recently would win, so there would at least be some excitement. I mean, we were more excited when we beat the Chargers on Monday Night then the Giants are to win the Super Bowl.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Eli seemed excited to check out that Corvette.
Tomahawk29 - February 5, 2012
I'm just pissed that a team other than the Chiefs won the Super Bowl I guess.
I obviously knew that for a while, but making it official sucks every time. I guess I really just hate the Super Bowl unless the Chiefs are involved.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
We'll get our shot.
It’s coming.
Tomahawk29 - February 5, 2012
I certainly hope so.
This team is certainly talented enough to win one. The only difference between us and the Giants is that they have a good QB. Our defense is definitely comparable, especially with Berry back, and our offense would be as good or better if we had a good QB.
That’s why I can’t stand the idea of Cassel starting next year. I’m not as down on him as most people, but he’ll never be good enough to lead a team without a historic defense to the Super Bowl. Even if we start Stanzi, at least he has a shot to be great.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Their defensive line is tons better too
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
But our linebackers and defensive backs are better.
As a whole, our defenses are about equal, although with Berry I think ours is better. But I’m a little biased.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
All that matters is who we got up front
Reason Giants won is they can get to the QB, and have the depth to keep em fresh. Cant say the same of the Chiefs, and wed lose because of it.
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
If that were true, the Lions would be holding the Lombardi right now.
Their D-Line is better than the Giants’. Of course, the rest of their defense stinks, so they lost in the first round.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Lions d-line better than the Giants?
I don’t know about that. JPP is the best player on either line, I’ll go with his team.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
fastest-most athletic, yeah
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Or best, but to each their own.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
Their DL isnt better then The Giants
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
And what bet did you lose to saints_chiefsfan1979?
From his comments, I’m amazed he won a bet.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
yeah, this I wanna know
upamtn - February 5, 2012
That Haley wouldn't be fired this year.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
Good game.
Sucks for Waters though.
Tomahawk29 - February 5, 2012
Perhaps if he lost wearing a Chiefs jersey...
I might be sad.
ArrowSpread - February 5, 2012
Poor Kraft.
They needed to play the ending credit music to the Hulk during that clip
Tomahawk29 - February 5, 2012
Kraft is the only guy on the Patriots I felt badly for ...
well, Brian too, but at least he made it to the game … Kraft, I know, was thinking about Myra (RIP) and for that loss I feel for the guy
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Agreed
I felt bad for him when they showed that clip of him alone in the box after it was over.
bh13 - February 5, 2012
Me two
LadyChief - February 5, 2012
I feel bad for Kraft but the media made too much of Mayra Kraft's death.
When Lamar died the media barely mentioned it. When Al Davis died, the media never mention it after the week it happened. Lamar and Al were the godfathers of the AFC, Kraft has only been NFL owner for less than 12 years. No disrespect..but Mayra Kraft was not a queen and she was not the only person that took care of someone unfortunate. Just IMO.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
If a team like the Giants
Can win the Super Bowl after losing to the Redskins twice and the Seahawks at home, we can’t be thatttt far away. I’m going to keep telling myself that.
Steve_in_RI - February 5, 2012
12 man on the fiels
Will some one explain to me why they didn’t put time back on the clock for the 12 man penalty? Wouldn’t it make sense for a coach to do this on purpose at the end of games like that?
groundedchevy - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Clock isnt reset due to a penalty
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
when that happened it made me think
well goddamn i’d be putting 15 men on the field until the final play of the game who cares about 5 yard penalties when you kill the clock & the other team has to score a TD. they should put a rule in place that they put time back on in the final 2 minutes of the game or something because that is a dumb rule that can clearly be taken advantage of if a team thought about it.
TheMainEvent - February 5, 2012
They'd probably call Unsportsmanlike Conduct
if it was obvious you were doing it to just run time off the clock. But other than that, yeah, I was having similar thoughts.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
I thought the same thing.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
The patriots refused to speak to the media afterwards
buncha bitches
Chef's Kitchen - February 5, 2012
Typical. Another classless move and another reason why so many people dislike the Pats.
Mr. Kraft wondered why people didn’t like new England. Stuff like this. Doesn’t help that the coach is mean spirited, unfriendly and bitter ….. and he cheats.
cvane - February 6, 2012
Awesome game with an awesome finish
Bradshaws TD has to be the funniest game winner of all time.
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
yeah, nobody quite expected that
upamtn - February 5, 2012
I was thinking it.
But wasn’t sure if Belichick would have the guts to do it.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
good call, actually
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Agreed.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
What are you guys talking about?
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
Talking about the Pats letting them score.
So they could get the ball back earlier.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
Ohhhhh okay
Horrible call
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
why?
it was the only way they get the ball back with ANY time on the clock … unless you think Tynes would miss a chip shot
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Like I said in the game thread.
Would you rather have a minute and a timeout to score a touchdown or 20 seconds to get into field goal range and make the field goal? I think I’d rather have the former, which would have been even better if they would have let them score the play before.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Still lost them the game
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
and your point? you think it would have been better to let the clock wind down to 5 seconds?
upamtn - February 5, 2012
But they had more of a shot than if they had let the Giants run out the clock.
Look at it this way. They had about 50 seconds after the kick and had to go 80 yards. Had they let them run out the clock, they would have had about 15 seconds to go about 45 yards. And that doesn’t even include the timeout and forcing your kicker to make a long field goal. They clearly made the right move.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Yes
And probably the only example where giving up a TD is the right move. It was a great call by Belichick.
motrepip - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Yeah Bradshaw should be fined for that!
Everybody knows he was making a gesture like he was taking a dump on the Patriots chances!
Disgusting!!!!!!
aPacificChief - February 6, 2012
Now that the SB is over..
the NFL will go back to hourly Peyton updates. I guess it’s better than daily Tebow mania.
Wichita Chief - February 5, 2012
Don't worry.
I’m sure First Take will talk tomorrow about what this SB meant for Tebow’s future.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
no, Manning
the other Manning
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Doesn't matter.
They’ll still find a way to talk about Tebow. They were talking about him all this week, leading up to the Super Bowl.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
notice how the pats tried to do the chiefs palko hail mary pass to end the game
and it almost worked again! thank god it didn’t, but they definitely tried the deflection to another receiver hail mary. close but no cigar.
so happy pats didn’t win it!
TheMainEvent - February 5, 2012
abd Belichick is gonna show that failed hail mary to whoever that was ... Hernandez? Gronk? ... about a million times
“and here all he had to do was catch the ball when it was deflected, let’s see if he does … and … no, he does not! let’s replay it and see … this time? nope, he does not!”
upamtn - February 5, 2012
watch Welker on the play. He didn't move an inch and hobbled Gronkowski came diving across.
Steve_in_RI - February 5, 2012
you wont
Be saying that when the giants and there fans are bigger asses then the pats
rickrock58 - February 5, 2012 via mobile
No matter who wins it all
There will always be a portion of the fanbase that acts like complete idiots.
bh13 - February 5, 2012
Why does it hurt so bad!?!
It hurts my heart to watch other teams year after year lift that trophy in the air.
It’s gotta be our turn soon….right?
1970 was a long time ago….teams have won multiple SB trophies and we have not even been back.
I hope to God that Pioli will recognize our need for a franchise MVP type QB. That’s the only way.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
We don't need an MVP type.
Eli is not a MVP type QB (unless you mean Super Bowl MVP), but he is certainly pretty good, and I would be in favor of a pretty good QB.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
I'd be delighted with a pretty good oroton
upamtn - February 5, 2012
I looked at the numbers, and Orton was pretty good with us.
Good enough to make me borderline for keeping him. And I don’t just mean beating Green Bay, but his actual performances showed that maybe he’d be pretty good if he had talent around him, like he did with the Broncos one year and the games with us.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Eli is most definitely MVP type
He just threw for 5000yrds…that’s all.
He just broke the record for most 4th Q TD passes…that’s all.
It’s your kind of thinking that has us in a 42 year SB drought.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
what if ...
the Giants had ended with the same record but in a different way … what if those “game winning drives” were in the first qtr, or the second qtr … and the G-Men held on to barely win games
would it have been so remarkable then? makes no difference what qtr it comes in … and Manning did NOT win those games by himself, and had he been better in the first 3 qtrs he might not have HAD to toss some of those late game TD’s
upamtn - February 5, 2012
You make no sense
You cannot discount Eli Manning. Last 4 years he has had 60% completion or more. Last 3 years passing over 4000yrds.
Two Super Bowl rings…Two MVP’s.
I would take Eli in a heart beat and if you wouldn’t your freaking crazy!
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Yeah Id take Eli all day every day
Mr. Cool that can will a team to victory? Id take that in a heartbeat.
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
Thank you
Some reason Ups and wustl are trying to discount the man!?
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
not discounting him, just saying he's far from the best QB out there
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Not a big fan of the Manning family?
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
uhhhh ... Peyton is one of THE best ever ... period
does that answer your question?
upamtn - February 5, 2012
At the end of the day
Peyton has a ring and is one of the best
But little brother has more rings and that’s what it’s all about.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
oh, well ... then clearly Dan marino was horrible! right?
this “at the end of the day” and “the only thing that matters is a ring” is nonsense
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Ok
You are so right. Who gives a crap about a Super Bowl ring? It doesn’t matter.
Dude, Eli is a really really good QB. It’s that simple. If not for him they are not SB champs.
He has really good stats and he is the leader of that team. He is a top elite NFL QB.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
he is pretty good, he's not great-elite
Matt Cassel is a “leader” too …
Eli is fortunate to play on a team with one of the best defenses in the league
upamtn - February 5, 2012
The 27th ranked D this year.
Anything to downplay Eli’s role I guess.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
but they stopped the GREAT and UNSTOPPABLE Tom Brady!
guess Brady sucks, huh!
upamtn - February 5, 2012
That is certainly what I was saying.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
I hate to jump in here Matt.. been a fan for years. I just don't Pioli going after a franchise QB unless we are calling Cassell a franchise QB. Won't happen.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
That's what sucks!
Everyone in the NFL knows u have to have an elite QB but Pioli.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
DUDE! and what I've been saying you DON'T need an elite QB to win
upamtn - February 5, 2012
You do..yes you do
Besides Dilfer and Brady how many QB’s have won the SB that wasn’t 1st round picks??
It’s been proven over and over and over again…..
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
joe montana
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
Dilfer WAS a first round pick.
Tampa Bay to be exact….’92? ’94?
Anyhoo. I love me some Orton but I actually side with you on this one, Grbac, so I’ll let you carry on :)
Incidentally, the only time I’m OK with typing that name is when I respond to you, lol.
go_saleaumua - February 5, 2012
Really...didn't know that
But it further justifies my point…so thanks ;o)
I was an Elvis fan…what can I say lol
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
I'm the anti-Elvis. But it's all good...
Dilfer was overdrafted, he was basically Orton for the most part. If he’d had any wideouts anywhere, other than Seattle (and he was too old by then) he would have had a nice career and wouldn’t be called “game manager” so often.
Rypien, in the 90’s—-HE was a game manager. Or Brad Johnson. (Also a SB winner who was not a 1st rounder. And Kurt Warner. Jake Delhomme got his team to the SB as an undrafted guy).
There are examples of it working, but the NFL was a little different in the 90’s then now.
go_saleaumua - February 5, 2012
Eli is one of the top 5 QB's in the NFL right now.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
Absolutely you can win with out a great QB,
It has happened like 4 times in the last 45 years.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
I haven't seen any evidence of that.
Pioli hasn’t had the opportunity to bring an elite QB here.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Agreed the man thinks he knows everything. We have to thank Herm Edwards for drafting 90% of our stars on the team.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
the man ==is Pioli
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
It really is all that matters
Teams dont play for 2nd place, “if you aint first youre last”
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
Dan Marino has exactly as many rings
as Matt Cassel.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
Wait, no...
Cassel has more.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
He was today
And at the end of the day thats all that matters
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
I doubt that.
If Brady and Manning switched teams, Brady would have blown out Eli. The talent around Eli is so much better than what Brady has.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
and the Giants are a MUCH better defensive team than the Pats
key word there: TEAM
upamtn - February 5, 2012
You doubt what exactly?
Eli was the better QB today, thats not even a question.
Talk about the teams all you want, You take Eli out and the Giants lose this easily.
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
But they'd have Brady!
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
I'm not saying Eli isn't good.
But to pretend that facing the Patriots defense is the same as facing the Giants defense is absurd. Eli wouldn’t make the playoffs if he replaced Brady in New England.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
The guy wins two Super Bowls
And he’s not even a playoff QB?
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
you forget about the rest of the team ... and the defense
upamtn - February 5, 2012
I'm not forgetting about them.
Just don’t see how Eli is only playing a minor role here.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
That's funny
How Brady, Peyton, and Brees all win games all by themselves….but no, not Eli, he is just a piece of shit with a great defense behind him.
Give me a break!
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
you can stop misquoting and misinterpreting anytime, my friend
upamtn - February 5, 2012
You can stop making absurd comments
Eli has two rings…he is ELITE!
E…L….I…T….E
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
whatever
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Ups
I’m not trying to be an ass.
I’m just saying there is no argument here. Eli has some amazing credentials now. You cant take that away from him.
How many QB’s in history have two rings….not many.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Only like 5 have multiple SB MVPs
And the rest of them are HOFers, or future HOFer.(Brady)
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
I know what he's done
but this is the first year he’s been a really good QB … when the Giants won a few years ago he didn’t have CLOSE to as good a year as this
and the rest of his career has been much worse … one good year and one lucky year does NOT make a guy “elite”
and compare his starts to Marino, there’s no way he comes off as anything but average … yet Marino has no rings … that makes him less than one of THE best ever? of course not! same with Peyton … again, like Marino, likely top 5 alltime, but only one ring … you think Eli is BETTER than Peyton? if so you’ve had WAY too much to drink
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Eli has talent.
If you have no talent and one good year it doesn’t make you mediocre.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
Not saying he is better than Peyton
Just saying that he is elite. He is in the top 3-4 QB’s in the NFL right now.
He has gradually gotten better every year. Tom Brady didn’t start out lighting the world on fire either. It’s a process with QB’s.
Just watch Eli play…it’s obvious. He has a great arm. He has poise and calmness in the pocket. He can make any throw. It’s also been said that he has more playbook stuff to learn than most any other system in the NFL.
I would say if we had Eli Manning we could be a contender every year.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Wow, ups, you're hating on ELI?
The best Manning to ever play the game?
That’s pretty harsh.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
Brady and Peyton do win virtually by themselves.
The Colts are proof of that, and the Patriots are not very good besides Brady.
Eli hasn’t done anything Roethlesburger hasn’t done, and he isn’t MVP caliber.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Bradshaw ... was atrocious, but the Steelers won all the time
upamtn - February 5, 2012
It was a different era.
Defenses and running the ball used to win Championships. Times of changed. It is a QB driven league whether you want to admit it or not.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
Defense still wins championships...
sorry to inform you of that, but the Patriots only scored seventeen points. You can look it up.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
Cruz-Nicks-Manningham
Gronk-Welker-Hernandez. Bradshaw vs Green-Ellis. Seems pretty comparable on offense.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
But the defenses aren't even close to equal.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
The stats aren't far off this season.
Giants gave up less yards. Patriots gave up less points.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
Defenses arent on the field he whole game eiher
Yet facing this fantastic defense the Pats still only lost by 4.
Theyre good, but not that good.
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
I disagree with Ups here.
I think the Giants defense is overrated, and Eli’s improvement has made up for the defense not being as good as they were before, but he still isn’t as good as Brady or Peyton, and their defense is still vastly superior to the Pats’.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Their back 7 arent all that great
DL is the only area Id say they were great in and beter then the Pats, and being the best in the NFL thats understandable.
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
No QB wins by themselves
But you dont see Defenses lead 4th quarter comebacks
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
Nice
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
and 4th quarter comebacks are much easier when you are holding offenses to under 20 points . Tim Tebow taught us that
Willie Beamon - February 5, 2012
he might, but he'd lose to the Ravens :-)
upamtn - February 5, 2012
The Patriots would have lost to the Ravens, too.
If Lee Evans hadn’t forgotten why he’s been out of the league for a couple years.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
Eli had a nice season.
But he still wasn’t one of the best 3. Not to mention this was easily his best season as a pro, and usually breakout seasons like this lead to dropoffs the next year.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
This catapults him into the top 3
And he has been getting better and better every year.
How does having a great year lead to a drop off? Seriously? Where do u get your stats?
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
top 3 for THIS year, ok ... but not in his career ... not even close
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Name all the NFL QB's who have two rings or more.
You have to list ELI.
You cannot list Peyton.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
Usually, if a player has played for many seasons, and then suddenly has a great year.
That year is usually a fluke rather than indicative of their true ability. For example, Michael Vick was not so good for most of his career, and then suddenly had a great year last year. This year, he was better than he was in Atlanta, but not near what he was before. Most really good players only take a year or two to get to that level.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Eli is no over night success
Like I said before
Last 4 seasons 60% or more and last 3 season over 4000yrds.
He is gradually getting to superstar status.
2 rings puts him in an elite class. Most QB never even get one ring.
Matt_Grbac - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Manning has always been decent.
But this year is far better than any year he’s ever had. And he has been improving, but there is an excellent chance he does worse next year than he did this year.
The only other QB I can think of who gradually became great is Brees, and even he had a dropoff year after he broke out.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Rodgers didnt fall off...
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
And how many years did it take him to be considered one of the best?
Rodgers became a star almost immediately after taking over.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
But he didnt fall off
I thought after great seasons/postseasons, QBs fall off?
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
Not necessarily.
The idea is that usually people don’t suddenly improve in anything if they have been doing it a while. So somebody like Eli who has been good but not great for a long time suddenly has a top 5 season, you have to balance the larger sample size of his previous seasons versus the possibility that he has improved. The larger the improvement, and the more seasons they’ve played, the more that scale is tipped in favor of it being a fluke.
That’s why most great QB’s like Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, and others, were great almost as soon as they got their shot, while cases like Brees are more rare.
Eli’s improvement from last year is just too great for me to believe that he will be consistently this good. I think he probably has actually improved, but not as much as this season indicated. So I expect him to be worse next season, but he shouldn’t drop off below where he was before.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Took Brady until his 4th year starting
To get above 6.1 NY/A. He was a dink and dunk QB for a good period.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
I'm surprised, but I think Gronkouski may have been the difference.
Had he been 100%, Brady might have thrown that Interception, he could have played that Hail Mary better, and the Patriots’ offense probably would have been better as a whole.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Good game
Crappy commercials..
Giants v Chiefs
Eli v Peyton
Next year..
Mas Cervezas - February 5, 2012 via mobile
NOOOOOOOO
We follow the “Patriot Way”!!!!!!! Do you really want that????
NJChieffan16 - February 5, 2012
Cassel gets hurt then Stanzi comes in and takes over and leads us to 5 Super Bowls? ok, I can deal with that
upamtn - February 5, 2012
How many were wins against the Giants as Mas seems to want us to play against?
NJChieffan16 - February 5, 2012
Haha
I had to laugh at that
Mas Cervezas - February 5, 2012 via mobile
O Lord...Can we finally realize the Patriot Way is really just Tom Brady and Tom Brady.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
And good old Bill!
(Belichick, not Muir)
NJChieffan16 - February 5, 2012
10% Belichick. 90% Brady. They became famous only after 2 last minute FG winning drives.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
You forgot 10% cheating
Mas Cervezas - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Thanks That's why I gave 10% to Belichick.. Maybe he should have hired a couple of defensive coaches from other teams that did not make the playoffs.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
I disagree on that
I’m in the area so I get Brady footage shoved in my face 12 months a year. He is a great QB. But to give him 90% when the system is built to suit his strengths is a lot to give. The proof is this system could allow Matt Cassel to win 11 games in a better division. Bill doesn’t do it without Brady, but Brady definitely doesn’t do it without Bill either.
Steve_in_RI - February 5, 2012
If only the white Dexter McCluster would have caught that one pass.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
how about the parcells way
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
Haley tried it but could not duplicate
Mas Cervezas - February 5, 2012 via mobile
u mean pioli can't talk to his father in law
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
I feel sorry for those San Diego Charger fans for letting the 2 time MVP Super Bowl winning Eli Manning go for Philip Rivers. NOT!!!!!
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
Drew Brees says hi too.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
I hate you.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
Agreed.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
LOL!
LadyChief - February 5, 2012
And don't forget about Brees.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
I love you.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
Lover.
go_saleaumua - February 5, 2012
Oooooohmygoodness
Sorry, but one of our technicians in our Mexico NOC just posted this on FB, and i felt like it had to be shared. Carry on…
ArrowSpread - February 5, 2012
Who is that person?
NJChieffan16 - February 5, 2012
oh my...Thank YOU!!
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
Well glad Hoodie and Brady were denied another SB ring.
Now we can focus hardcore on our Chiefs.
bossmanham - February 5, 2012
Right on. And don't forget the Scott Pioli sound bites that we don't need a franchise QB to go the Super Bowl.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
When did he say that?
bossmanham - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Hey-OOOOO!
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
Burn
No really, IT BURNS!
Shanghai_Chiefs - February 5, 2012 via mobile
I almost threw something at the tv screen because Belicheck kept repeating the same thing.
“We fought hard, played well, and they made a few more plays than us and we came up a little bit short.”
Chiefsdodgerslakers2415 - February 5, 2012
It's all part of a process.
They just hope to get a little better each Super Bowl.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
I see what you did there
LadyChief - February 5, 2012
who ever gives us the best chance to win on sunday will play
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
The right 53?
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
IT use to be farve watch now its
Manning watch
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
Well i wonder what pioli learned today.
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
That Madonna still looks pretty good in her 50s?
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
That DEFENSE wins Championships
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
Of the people who commented on the halftime show.
I think everybody on here hated it, yet everybody else liked it. Did Madonna say something bad about Arrowhead Pride once or something? Or maybe everybody else has just lost their minds.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
I thought it was good except for her new song which was kind of annoying.
I have a hunch that negativity is “in” on AP.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
Good point.
Although I’m one of the most optimistic people on here and I thought it was pretty much terrible. Although I guess I was only half paying attention, so maybe I would have liked it had I been concentrating on it.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
I thought it was better than in past years but that does not does not take much when your competition has been the Black Eye Peas
Like paying $4000 to $10000 for a Super Bowl ticket the halftime entertainment is overrated.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
Why can't they get in a rock band in their prime?
Why are their only choices past their prime rock bands or hip hop and rap?
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
really...The Who 35 years after their prime...The Rolling Stones 30 years after their prime. Bruce Springsteen 20 years after their prime...Prince..20 years after their prime..
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
and with the passing of Al Davis ... Keith Richards now has no competiton for "deadest looking celebrity who is, in fact, not yet dead"
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Well, come on, it was a game between
the Giants and the Patriots, 5 years after their prime…
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
I agree, but the problem is that Rock is not mainstream right now.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
That's a painful sentence to read.
wustl_chiefs_fan - February 5, 2012
yeah
not that Madonna is “rock”
upamtn - February 5, 2012
Rock is mainstream
Its just trashy mainstream rock
ChiefWarPaint - February 5, 2012
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Madonna is rock? That’s fucking hilarious.
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
When did I say that?
I was saying the reason they don’t have current relevant rock bands on the show is that rock is not popular right now.
saskwatch - February 6, 2012
A lot depends on your stance on Madonna going into it I'm sure
I’ve never been a big fan, so to me, it wasn’t really going to be something I cared about to begin with.
To fans or those that don’t care one way or another, I guess I can see how it was a decent show.
bh13 - February 5, 2012
I didn't see it.
But I heard from others that it was really good.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
I took my dog for a walk.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
do u guys feel confident that if matt cassel was out there when the g men did there go ahead drive that the results would be the same for cassel
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
I hope you are joking.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
Probably.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
We were actually talking about that same situation
we all thought he’d throw an interception on a screen, Pats win.
Chief Willie Wildcat - February 5, 2012
the chiefs have never had a situation where getting a qb like peyton, would give them the ability to be great on both sides of the ball its always been one or the other.
that is why i want peyton to come to kc even if its for 3 years. instant super bowl contender
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
keep dreaming but I hate to burst your bubble but Peyton Manning is not coming to KC to join the Patroit's way express.
NFL season ticket holder - February 5, 2012
I think he will if healthy
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
Does drafting at the bottom 5 spot for a decade really erode your team to this extent.
Colts are nothing without manning. The Pats have a mediocre defense and running game.
Idahochief - February 5, 2012
It has more to do with how much a HOF QB can improve your team.
I said last year (when the Colts were a playoff team) that they were the worst team in the league without Manning, and it looks like I was right.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
That's really Belichick's fault
he’s got draft picks stock piled like firewood. He could trade up if he wanted. Plus the players they’ve let go to acquire said draft picks.
Chief Willie Wildcat - February 5, 2012
Maybe he misses Scott.
Tarkus - February 5, 2012
Bingo. :)
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
Has two firsts again this year.
Knowing how he rolls, he’ll trade out of the first.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
Could be his ego is getting the best of him.
This, I’m such a great evaluator of talent that I can sift thru the UDFA and put together a contender, might just be kicking his ass.
Idahochief - February 5, 2012
He'll probably let Mallet go at some point
and be rewarded handsomely.
Chief Willie Wildcat - February 5, 2012
Could have something to do with it.
At some point, he needs to just trade up and get elite talent. When they stood pat and took Mayo, it worked out. Other moves haven’t worked as well.
BeauJackson - February 5, 2012
okay
niageriannit1 - February 5, 2012
Finally the stop about Brady being ...
the best QB of all time !! It isn’t even close, Montana best QB of all time and Brady not even a top 5 !
Brady wins against Delhomne,Warner,McNabb … loses twice against Manning
Montana wins against three MVPs and the 4th one simply named Elway!
Thanks Eli for making people realize that to be the best QB of all time, you need to play for KC at some point in your career. Now if we can only have our own Manning !!
OneChiefs - February 5, 2012
In all fairness Brady's career is far from over.
saskwatch - February 5, 2012
not really
neiowakcfan - February 6, 2012
I'd say on the contrary
I’ve never been a big Brady fan, but the dude looked like a surgeon tonight. He hit 16 in a row, no one has ever been close. They executed the drive to kill the 2nd quarter with a score, then opened the 3rd with another. There was one time where the guy was 20-23. I bet he’s a lot closer to winning if he had gotten some help from receivers. I told New England fans while I was there for MNF that Hernandez needed to spend less time in the tattoo shop and more time practicing.
Brady’s major fault tonight was missing Welker in the 4th quarter, that was a killer.
Chief Willie Wildcat - February 5, 2012
You can't pin any of this loss on Brady.
I saw more than one pass hit a receiver in the hands and fall to the ground.
Idahochief - February 5, 2012
2 pts for the Giants rests on his shoulders
and he forced that ball into Gronk that was intercepted. But I was in awe of him at times tonight. I was thoroughly impressed. As I said before, if that ball isn’t behind Welker in the 4th, I think it’s a different ball game altogether.
Chief Willie Wildcat - February 5, 2012
hes not playing those other Qbs hes playing there defenses
Willie Beamon - February 5, 2012
Was not really impressed with this super bowl
ArrowheadHunter - February 5, 2012
Me either. Boring. The commercials even sucked.
But the last two minutes were fun!
Coady - February 5, 2012
What more do you want in a football game
Come on now. What made the game so boring, please tell me
RamX21 - February 6, 2012
Another epic drive by Eli in the 4th!! Wow!! I’m Chiefs all day but I’m from ny, happy the gmen won again!! God I wish he was our qb!! That’s all we need man!! Y does Pioli have to be so in love w Casshole??
Chiefsallday25 - February 5, 2012 via mobile
Eli had...
7 game winning drives this year! Matt Cassel has had 4 in the last 4 years! I’m glad Matt’s our guy!
YES…that was the “sarcasm font!”
Jason Drue Keith - February 6, 2012
until we realize this scrap heap qb mentalitry this organization has had since blackledge
we will NEVER experience the joy of the chiefs winning a superbowl
mightymosdefinition - February 6, 2012
I'm getting really tired
of being right all the time.
Giants. Moneyline. Win straight up.
