We never really include the New York Giants when talking about dynasties but two Super Bowls in the last four years makes you pause. The Giants of course beat the New England Patriots last night in Super Bowl XLVI which means the players, coaches and fans got to have what is the greatest feeling sports can possibly bring.
It's something I can't even fathom. My team winning a championship? I don't even know what it would feel like. We've been blogging around here for five and a half years and at the end of the day winning a Super Bowl is what we're talking about all the time, 24/7/365. That's a lot of effort for one goal.
Alas, the Kansas City Chiefs did not win it all. The Giants players after the game were obviously very, very happy. Here are a few reactions from key guys via Twitter (@nflnetwork, @greggrosenthal, @sbnation)
There's gonna be a lot of talking in New York this offseason.

Well great, KC doing things the Patriot way and now we find out it needs to be the Giant way……..just can’t win.

GIants seem to do things surprisingly similarly.
I don’t think they have a whole lot of big free agent signings. They retain their young talent and seem to draft smart.
We’ll get there.

Biggest thing that stands out
to me about the Giants. is a few yrs ago they wanted to drop kick Coughlin otta there. instead the ownership stuck with him and a couple of Super Bowls later , their glad they did.

The fans want Coughlin fired every year
the owner talked about how he got emails earlier this year to fire Coughlin

I like how Collingsworth had nothing to say about Manningham fading his route on the biggest play of the night.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
I almost watched the game on mute
just so I didn’t have to listen to Collinsworth.
KingChief - February 6, 2012
Man, he was extra bad last night.
bossmanham - February 6, 2012
I like the guy and think he's a very intelligent color guy who brings a lot to the game
he and Al Michaels are terrific … in my POV
upamtn - February 6, 2012
He's worse than Madden.
And that’s pretty bad.

He was just acting like Eli is the perfect QB and when it was an incomlete pass it was the WR fault
Like when Eli threw those bounce passes Collinsworth would say the WR ran the wrong route or like on Manninghams 1st fade route when he didn’t get booth feet in he blamed it on the WR. He is like the Trent Dilfer of WR to me.
KingChief - February 6, 2012
Except he didn't push the other route to the sideline like Collinsworth said.
His route was good and didn’t fade to the sideline until Eli push the ball too far to the outside. Clearly he wanted an example to use the fancy running straight graphic they clearly had ready prior to the play.

I can't believe Joel was up and blogging at 5 AM (KC time) ...
does the man never sleep? is he simply a blogging machine? I mean, really …
upamtn - February 6, 2012
So is Coughlin smart enough
that he threw an extra db out there on the second to last play, knowing full well there was no disadvantage to him?
Montana Chief - February 6, 2012 via mobile
I mean same team that had simultaneous 'cramps'
Montana Chief - February 6, 2012 via mobile
After the play I think everyone started to ask, why not keep taking 5 yard penalties?
saskwatch - February 6, 2012
There was so much noise in my house from all the people at my SB party that I didn't hear the announcers at all.
So, I was able to watch and purely enjoy the plays I was seeing – especially the big sideline catch late in the game. :-)

Now is the time
Should this be the time coughlin says he has had enough.he has nothing else to prove to those ass holes in newyork that wants him fired everyyear.what away to go out if he chose to.

Brandon Jacobs
is a classless fool. Eli put the E-L-I in ELITE, though he did have some weird throws… Just glad Tom Brady did not get his 4th ring, and I hope he never gets it. Hate that whiner.
Hopefully, after Peyton dons our red and gold, we can see ourselves their next year. AND the year after, and the year after THAT. A guy can dream, right? Imagine a Chiefs-Giants SB, Manning vs. Manning. That would be something to see…
AnkenyChiefsFan - February 6, 2012
Oh, yeah, forgot this...
Palko > Brady for Hail Mary completions (ONLY time Palko will be > Brady, except for suckyness)
and
Dex > Gronk for catching them…
AnkenyChiefsFan - February 6, 2012
I ever so vaguely recall what it feels like for my team to win the championship...been so long ago now...
when I was just a child…and I’ve been wanting to feel that as an adult now…
