For some people there's the Super Bowl. You know, the actual game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots (the one the Giants won). And then for other people there are the commercials. The 2012 version of the biggest commercial day of the year had a couple of highlights for me.
First, the Ferris Bueller Honda ad was pretty good. It's hard to go too wrong when you bring back old characters like that. I think the 2013 Super Bowl should include a Saved by the Bell commercial. Perhaps A.C. Slater could endorse some sort of weight lifting products. Or maybe Zack Morris promotes a hair company. Whatever. I like these sorts of ads.
I've also got some news here. The best Super Bowl commercial was (I think) only aired in Canada. Check it out after the jump. It's Monday morning so tell us any of the commercials that were memorable.

For the most part the commercials were either crappy or just plaid weird. I’ve never seen so many car commercials in my life. the best ones were the one that had already been leaked, like the Seinfeld one.

Pretty lame year for ads, none really stood out
But I’m mostly upset at the lack of Delocated commercials, I mean, who’s the ad exec who let that one slip through?

I could count on one hand the number of ads that I thought was really good. Even the ones like the Ferris Bueller one felt.. weak.. There was more variety this year at least. It seemed like for the past 4 years or so, there was close to a dozen ads that were shown at least twice throughout the whole game.

Think I laughed most at the naked M&M one though. Then again, I have a pretty juvenile sense of humor.

not only was that Canadian Bud spot awesome, but the bottom right VW ad was perhaps best of all
I hadn’t seen that VW til just now … love how they do the “alien bar” thing at the tail end … a parody of a parody in under a minute
no wonder the Germans are still doing well in this economy … salves to outer planets and foreign star systems is the ultimate in an export ready product
