So besides the actual game (and the commercials), one part of the Super Bowl is the halftime show, which was done by Madonna this year. I don't have a musical bone in my body so I'm not a very good judge of these things which leads me to a poll.
Was the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show good? Did you enjoy it?
If you missed it, here's the video.
I ask because shortly after it was over I kinda laughed at seeing some of the tweets coming out -- some said it was the worst halftime show ever and others said it was the best (or at least the best since MJ tore down the house in 1993).
So vote in the poll. Did you like it?

I thought it was pretty decent.
Madonna kind of reminds me of my youth so I enjoyed most of it (minus the new crappy song that was stuck in my head for like 4 hours last night).
saskwatch - February 6, 2012
Not great but after the past few years it was MUCH better than I expected.
sayten - February 6, 2012
Basically this
Better than The Who, Springsteen (sorry, Boss), the Black-Eyed Peas. But still not great. Just… not horrible.
Mully - February 6, 2012
You read my mind. Exactly my and my girlfriends thoughts.
sayten - February 6, 2012
I'm still waiting for a half-time show to top this one
from the 1992 Super Bowl in Minneapolis.
cheapham - February 6, 2012
Winter does need to be celebrated more
Doesn’t get much better than that
KCNorm - February 6, 2012
No way
Eff winter. Right in the face.
Mully - February 6, 2012
Now I know why Minneapolis hasn't gotten a Superbowl bid since
That was so bad it was awesome.
CapsLockKey - February 6, 2012
Yep
My friends and I watched this after last night’s game. I think we were more entertained by it that the entire Super Bowl. I think the beer helped, but still…
cheapham - February 6, 2012
I am 32
so Madonna was pretty hot in my adolescent years. But she’s old news. I know they want to be conservative since nipplegate and now middle-fingergate, but if you want an entertaining halftime show that engages the audience there and at home you need to go with what’s big right now: and that’s acts like Lady Gaga and Rihanna, who then could bring out other current stars. I enjoyed parts of the performance, but I think the whole Bob Dylan/The Who/Madonna phase needs to be curtailed.
Steve_in_RI - February 6, 2012
Gaga or anyone else would have done the same show as Madonna
basic average … not one thing would have been different
would that have made it any better? no … any worse? no …
look, the whole thing is eye candy/fluff/advertising … it’s designed to be middle of the road, to be non-offensive yet to be as eye-popping glittery flashy splashy Las Vegas Revue spectacle as possible
from that standpoint it was a flaming success … Madonna got 12 minutes of free advertising for her soon-to-be-released album (a $50 million dollar value!) in exchange for doing a free show
upamtn - February 6, 2012
A Lip-Syncing Madonna...what could be better than that?
Oh yeah…damn near anything.
Scott B. - February 6, 2012
^^^This! Easily one of the worst SB halftimes shows I've seen.
And uh, I’ve seen them all.
Why not have a current act like Seether or something?
Hell, run Modest Mouse out there.
F250 - February 6, 2012
Shinedown
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
The example that proves your proposal false:
Nickelback
cheapham - February 6, 2012
Id take them anyday over Madonna
Hell Id even take Creed with or without Scott Stapp over a lip syncing 80s has been pop star
slackator - February 6, 2012
As usual
Garbage
Jpocket - February 6, 2012 via mobile
I actually thought it was one of the more watchable ones in a while
Fairly entertaining. Nothing special, but it didn’t make me want to turn it off right away.
ChiefsFan4Life634 - February 6, 2012
What is the point of having a performance
if you’re not actually singing? Lip syncing loser. It just shows how irrelevant and awful pop music is.
bossmanham - February 6, 2012
Exactly. Karaoke. Woop-tee-doo.
Scott B. - February 6, 2012
I thought it was terrible
Madonna hasn’t been relevant in years and she’s not such an iconic act that everyone can get into it. If you want to go for an older act it needs to be something like The Rolling Stones, something that has lasted and people can still get into. My 12 year old nephew can even get into old Rolling Stones, I don’t think the same thing can be said for Madonna.
If Madonna, then make it more than just her, and I don’t mean Cee-lo and Nicki Minaj cameos. Put on a whole show from that era and get her, Cindy Lauper, etc.
Also, I understand why they lip-sync but it still sucks.
Fozzyboyd - February 6, 2012
I'd like to see KISS do the show next year.
Great show, and guaranteed to be live.
Scott B. - February 6, 2012
I’m not a big rock fan, but I agree
Arrowhead816 - February 6, 2012
I was actually thinking about that earlier, I’d be down.
Topchief1 - February 6, 2012
I liked the tight rope guy.
Mostly because he looks nothing like the pretty-boy backup dancers and yet has 100 times more athleticism and talent than all of those Federlines put together.
Brsrkr - February 6, 2012
I thought it was Seth Rogan
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
The breakers had some skill and balance.
Sudden - February 6, 2012
Didn't evan watch. That was my time to fill my plate and get some refreshments.
Helmets - February 6, 2012
I watched every second of it. I was hoping she would flash her tits or something.
In which case, I would have voted “Enjoyed It”.
Scott B. - February 6, 2012
Not terrible
I hate lip syncing though. They could have saved the appearance fees and just played her songs in the background while some people dance and it would have been pretty much the same. I really don’t care about the halftime show, never have.
CapsLockKey - February 6, 2012
Awful.
It was just an overhyped, lip syncing spectacle. Why can they not get a good band/performer that is popular now, and known for good live performances?
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
janet and justin = nipple slip
they feel like they can only trust older artists like The Who
worc - February 6, 2012
..and yet the sprinkle in young artists anyway like Nicky Minaj, Cee-Lo and some MIA chick I never heard of
and of course MIA flips the bird during the performance.
CapsLockKey - February 6, 2012
pure genious on her part
how many people knew who MIA was yesterday, now everybody is talking about her and her most heinous act ever to appear on TV only way to get better press would be to flash a tit but thats so 10 years ago.
slackator - February 6, 2012
LIked it for the visuals and even though it was lip synced, it sounded better than the black eye peas performance last year
The stage was pretty amazing technically. Overall, enjoyed it
worc - February 6, 2012
Took the words out of my mouth
I kept comparing it to the Black Eyed Peas from last year. Fergie sounded awful. The lights and stage were pretty incredible. Not to mention the nutless man on the tightrope.
Chief Willie Wildcat - February 6, 2012
Lame
The most manly day of the year and they choose half naked men in roman grabs? What does she have anything to do with football?? None of her songs are played in the stadiums!
I did like Cee-lo performance though
Arrowhead816 - February 6, 2012
what, they should spring Gary Glitter out of prison?
upamtn - February 6, 2012
Hell I’d rather have KISS or Ozzy over the crap they played last night
Arrowhead816 - February 6, 2012
Rec for Glitter.
That’s one freaky dude.
Chiefs_40 - February 6, 2012
As soon as I heard the beginning of Vogue
I changes the channel and watched a rerun of the Simpsons
KingChief - February 6, 2012
I'm hoping next year they trot out Flogging Molly to spray the crowd in Guinness and yell obscenities about the English
Sudden - February 6, 2012
ha!
upamtn - February 6, 2012
I thought the old gray bush did ok.......
considering she’s in post menopause.
Chiefs_40 - February 6, 2012
Felt like she tried to move like Britney Spears
With a 50 year old body, a lot of the moves she did just looked awkward and and at one point it look like she stumbled trying to step up. I like her but think they tried to do to much to show how athletic she is at 50.
rayza - February 6, 2012
it was really good for a half-time show
especially compared to last year.
LaPointer - February 6, 2012
terrible lip syncing from a 90 year old forgotten pop star
I would have rather had LMFAO sing Party Rock for 30 minutes than another washed up has been lip synch their way threw their “hits” for 30 minutes.
The NFL needs to open it up to the fans on who to invite because whos next the sole remaining BeeGee next year?
slackator - February 6, 2012
Since weve gotten tits and obscene gestures
we might as well get obscene language next year. Bring in ICP so they can explain how magnets work
slackator - February 6, 2012
Metallica, Static-X, or Offspring would be my write-ins.
Are they old and mainstream enough?
Brsrkr - February 6, 2012
I hope so
Id love that half time show
slackator - February 6, 2012
All the dancing
and glitz and glamour are there to deflect from the awful truth. That “music” sucks! Whats wrong with acts that actually play instruments and sing into the mic? Real music as an artform is dead. Long live commercialism!
mind the gap - February 7, 2012
The best part of the halftime show......
Was the tight rope dude & Madonna stumbling as she was getting up those bleacher things with LMFAO. No one is talking about that at all, but we were all laughing our asses off.
She’s such a condescending biatchhhhh, so that was what was entertaining for me :)
HeatherChiefsLvr - February 7, 2012
It was average...ok, but didn't come anywhere close to one of the all time best 'give it all you got' half-time performances - Prince in '07
He kicked a$$ in the rain
