The Kansas City Chiefs have made it official: Brian Daboll is the new offensive coordinator.
Reports came out over the weekend that the Chiefs were hiring Daboll and the team had a statement on their website that confirmed they were "in discussions" with Daboll.
Now, via a tweet from @kcchiefs, the Chiefs have confirmed Daboll is the new OC.
We've already been talking about this move for a few days so here are a few highlights of what we've had:

How is that fail?
The containers are all still aboard the ship
badassz1987 - February 6, 2012
Apparently Daboll is just going to rock the boat
and that is just what KC needs.
Chief-blinders-on - February 6, 2012
actually the containers aren't on the ship at all
this is massively photoshopped.
Leaf - February 6, 2012
still entertaining though
MarineChiefsFan - February 6, 2012
Daboll failed already?
Before starting?
NJChieffan16 - February 6, 2012
Yes
unfortunately. LOL
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
LOL
oh man..
NJChieffan16 - February 6, 2012
Just picked up where Muir left off
sad, really…
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Muy Big 10-4 on this, Senoir SC
LocoLoboChico - February 6, 2012
I wonder which INCOTERM they are using
ExRoyalsFan - February 6, 2012
Pioli is proving an idiot
and a stubborn one at that.
I pray I’m wrong about this.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
How is Pioli an idiot?
Head coaches hire their own coaching staff
badassz1987 - February 6, 2012
You honestly believe that in KC?
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
yeah, in this case
Daboll is a Crennel Guy more than a Pioli guy
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
I don't trust any hires made in KC
They all run through Pioli and they will get vetoed if there are not the correct amount of degrees of separation.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Weak certainty

You spelled "Amen" wrong

Little afraid there is truth to this..
NJChieffan16 - February 6, 2012
I this
May be coloring your judgment :)
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
I might be slow
but honestly, I’ve gotten three responses to this statement and I haven’t fully comprehended any of them…non lo capisco!
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
I'm just giving you a hard time
It does come down to a trust issue. I trust when Crennel says he’s picking his guys that it’s the truth.
Although I certainly believe Pioli has “veto” power, I do think it was Crennel’s call to bring in Daboll.
My guess is that getting totally demolished by Daboll when they went head to head helped with the decision.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
Hablar Espanol?
LocoLoboChico - February 6, 2012
No, mi spiache
non parlo spagnolo. Capisco l’italiano…solo un po.
SCKSChief - February 7, 2012
I got your back on this, Smokey Bear.
LocoLoboChico - February 6, 2012
Not sure I agree with this. Both worked together on the Pats for 2 seasons, about 8 years ago
Romeo worked with Zorn for one season last year, which to me sounds more relevant that a DC working with an at the time WR coach back in 2001
Chiefs_KC - February 6, 2012
Not for one second
HIV 2 Elway - February 6, 2012
When RAC was hired as head coach
I made the statement that I wasn’t sure I liked the hire. I felt he would be nothing more than a puppet for SP. I’m afraid I was right.
ValkRider - February 6, 2012
IOW, you don't like the hire.
So therefore, he must be Pioli’s guy.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
Thanks for trying to put words in my mouth
Unfortunately you would be wrong.
ValkRider - February 7, 2012
Si, muchas gracias Muchacho ... for stating my thoughts, as well
LocoLoboChico - February 6, 2012
Go Daboll!!!!!
I hope you bring us a good offense, bro!
NJChieffan16 - February 6, 2012
Just curious
is anyone else having problems with AP lately. It doesnt matter if Im at work or at home but I am having problems with this site. Pages either wont load or I have to hit refresh several times before they will load
badassz1987 - February 6, 2012
Me too
ChiefWildcat - February 6, 2012
Having the same problems
It’s all SB Nation for me.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Have similar problems on PCs, no problems on Apple products
My guess is there is just so much info on the home page that it takes a while to load
HIV 2 Elway - February 6, 2012
I always took you for an apple guy..
Do you wear skinny jeans too? j/p :)
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Skinny jeans are so last year, I only sport pajama jeans

Don’t bother going at all.

wouldn't surprise me if there are geographic carrier issues with the routing tables
I’m on the west coast and about a month ago I was having huge problems and nobody else was. I know for a fact that there have been massive route poisoning attacks in recent weeks. You might just have to wait it out.
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
only problem I'm having,
is a half naked guy popping up on my screen
dbakerku - February 6, 2012
LOL
honestly, I was hoping he’d be gone by now…but, I’ve also been hoping #7 would be gone by now too.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Welcome to the Kansas City Chiefs Brian Daboll!!!
Please no Favre

Let’s improve this offense!
Chief-blinders-on - February 6, 2012
Adios Jim Zorn.
you were a temp anyway, cuz you got no patriot ties.
rdc - February 6, 2012
last I heard, he WAS staying on
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
I don't think he said he was staying,
just that reports saying that he would leave if the didn’t get the job were not true.
BinSC - February 6, 2012
LaCanfora said he's staying, after he reported on the Daboll hire
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
awesome, we keep our QB coach!
now all we need is a QB :-)
upamtn - February 6, 2012
ANNNNDDDDD....
Boom goes the dynamite!
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Agreed
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
only under the condition that he doesn't get the OC job in PITT
IPWT2009 - February 6, 2012
I haven't seen one report linking Zorn to Pittsburgh
And don’t see any significant connection to anyone on their staff.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
LaCanforna said it
don’t get angry at me
IPWT2009 - February 6, 2012
He didn't actually say it.
I think that’s the only immediate open OC spot left in the league is it not? That’s how I understood the quote but it wouldnt be the first time i misread something.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
maybe Haley was putting in a good word there for Zorn ...
… as a favor to his dad, or something
upamtn - February 6, 2012
Right.
He only mentioned the Steelers as a vacancy. He didn’t say that Zorn was being considered.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
I'd repeat my opinion, but I won't.
bossmanham - February 6, 2012
That's alright
if you say you don’t like the hire, you’ll have at least one of us agree with you
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Make that two
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
can he fix the qb?
tomachop - February 6, 2012
can he play QB?
IPWT2009 - February 6, 2012
being from the land of misfit toy and all
tomachop - February 6, 2012
toys
tomachop - February 6, 2012
It's "official" now? Damn. I was still holding out hope of it being a wild rumor.
Scott B. - February 6, 2012
Can't be any worse
And really what hiring would’ve made AP happy beyong a 20% approval rating besides Saunders who has one foot in the grave.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
The offense cant get any worse*
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
agreed
and I can’t name another good candidate… except Saunders, who is old and under contract in Oak
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
The only I can think of is Hue Jackson
And its not like teams are banging down his door to get him hired so there’s got to be something more to that story.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
the way he sold his players out and such
I’m sure that’s part of it
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
Apparently a lot of "arrogance" talk...
Although I still would’ve liked the hire.
I’m guessing his criminal trade for Palmer played a part as well.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
hey, he had to "take a chance" right? go after his QBotF ... roll the dice ...
right? (angelic smile)
upamtn - February 6, 2012
30 years old does not equal QBOTF
That was the exact opposite of long term thinking. It was short term thinking at its worst.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
I tried to explain this last week
to someone who wants us to draft Weeden
KingChief - February 6, 2012
Unless they believe Weeden can start from day 1
And be a good starter, they should not.
If they DO, then go for it.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
Great point
and I think that he could be that guy. Still, I’d rather get Manning (his willingness to re-structure his contract with zero guaranteed dollars up front is really enticing) and find a true QBotF in the draft.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
From everything I've read
Weeden would be considered a franchise QB if it wasn’t for the age.
If they take him in the 2nd I won’t be upset.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
True words...all of em.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Si, Senoir
I’ve been agreeable with this also. If Weedon is an Andy Dalton minimum right off, and up from there, then go for it!
LocoLoboChico - February 6, 2012
Yessir!
I think Weeden could be a Dalton right off.
SCKSChief - February 7, 2012
Just a tad different
from drafting a 22 year old.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
My fear is not that the Offense will get worse...
It’s that it won’t get better.
Scott B. - February 6, 2012
Fair enough.
What candidate out there other the Daboll, who you have been comfortable with “approving” or knowing that the offense would get better? You don’t have to answer but if you start looking at who’s available and actually even look at the guys in this league that have OC positions already and there’s no one that really jumps off the page.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
What does it matter if people approve or not?
Let the guy prove his worth. In the mean time some will belly-ache and some will “warm up” to it. :)
Most of the time I take the middle of the road approach but this one just sorta… pisses me off
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
yeah, can't please everyone
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
under my skin
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
It will get better just by going back to default
after Jamaal and Moeaki return.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
for sure
stagdsp - February 6, 2012
Hopefully we can quit playing OC hot potato...
Iczer - February 6, 2012
Meh.
If they don’t think it’s working, there’s no point to giving an OC more time to prove themselves. Fire him and move on, keep looking for one that fits.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
Usually takes moe than 1 year to put a system in place though
KingChief - February 6, 2012
Maybe to have it running at 100%...
But the people in charge should be able to see the progress the OC is making, judge his coaching methods, see the way the players react, etc.
If they don’t like the progress being made, why wait to make a change? Jamaal isn’t going to stay young forever.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
You mean progress like...
Scoring over 25 points in 6 of your last 9 games, and over 30 in 4 of those, despite having limited weapons? :)
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
I wouldnt call it limited weapons...
Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Daniel Thomas, Davonne Bess, Anthony Fasano.
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
If those are your examples of them having weapons
I rest my case. And notice the lack of a QB…
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
I would say Moore is better than Cassel or at least equal to
KingChief - February 6, 2012
You are wrong sir
Brad-KC - February 6, 2012
Technically.. you could argue
that the Chiefs and Dolphins look pretty similar.. Bush=Charles, Marshall=Bowe, Bess=McCluster, Fasano=Pope/Moeaki (Moeaki is always hurt), Matt Moore= Cassel, The only difference is that they have a better 2nd running back..
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Bush=Charles?
I had to stop there.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
WOAHHHH
Im not saying hes as good as.. im saying they look similar.. hes a speedy back that can catch balls out of the backfield. You put them head to head, your damn right Charles wins.. The rest of them would be pretty equal in talent though
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Bush= Charles?
Dude just had his first 1000 yard season. Not even close. He was completely written off as a real RB, which is why he was shipped out of NO.
I’ll give you Marshall.
McCluster had more than 150% the offensive production of Bess, and played a different position. The correct comparison would be Breaston, who is better than Bess
Thomas would be correctly compared to Dex. So let’s look
Dex- 587 yards on 132 carries (4.4), 328 yards REC, 3 TD total
Thomas- 581 yards on 165 (3.5), 72 yards REC, 1 TD total
PLUS, Dex was a ST contributor.
So Dex > Thomas in pretty much every way you can measure.
I’ll allow us to call Fasano a push, and Moore
So So they get a “push” in 3 places (and that’s factoring in Moeaki being hurt) and are worse than us with the other 3 places mentioned.
Again, this is not a team with many weapons.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
If Moeaki is alwas hurt,
then so is Berry and Charles?
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
This isnt Moeaki first injury
In fact the big problem with him oput of college was that he couldnt stay healthy there either. I dont know how many games hes played in as a pro- can someone look this up? Hes been in the league what 3-4 years now?
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Last year was his rookie year
and he missed 1 game with a concussion
KingChief - February 6, 2012
Thanks..
Cant look it up because work has about every website on lockdown.. Except for AP :) Alright so he has a concussion and he blew out a knee. maybe not as bad as i was making it out.. but he hasnt shows he can stay healthy for an entire year.
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
LOL..
He’s been in the NFL for 2 years. Played 15 games his rookie year (2010) and missed this season due to a freak plague of ACL tears that shook the NFL this year (thanks lockout).
Yeah, he missed some college games, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Plenty of players have had injury issues in college and went on to be successful NFL players. Off the top of my head, Priest Holmes and Adrian Peterson come to mind.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
ya those last 3 are a stretch
ExRoyalsFan - February 6, 2012
How so?
Just curious of your oppinion.. In my mind. Dexter McCluster is no where near as good as the majority of Chiefs fans think he is.. And you dont think that Fasano is better than Moeaki? What has Moeaki done since hes been here?
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
He had a better rookie season than Tony Gonzalez.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
Disagree: Dex is underrated here
Over 800 yards from scrimmage, 4.4 YPC, despite being used horribly by Haley for much of the year.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
You don't think draws up the middle best utilize his skills?
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
I know. Crazy, right?
I just got NFL rewind back and am about to start my “breaking down” series again.
I’m going to start with T-Jax for sure. But I may skip Gregg (as he’s a FA) and go right into offensive players. Maybe Dex would be a good place to start?
I’m really sick of hearing how he’s no good after he had an excellent season.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
been saying it all year, Dex gets no love here for some reason...
him and Breaston were silent contributors all season…
SFLChief - February 6, 2012
Breaston was a God-send
The coaches need to look at some old game film of Marshall Faulk and LT and think a little harder about how to play Dex. Wasting a second round pick on a guy like that and then playing him the way they have has been a real bummer to watch.
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Dex has the same problem as T-Jax.
He’s being judged based on where he was drafted, rather than what he’s doing on the field.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
Exactly
I intend on addressing that argument at some point.
At a certain point what matters is whether a player produces.
Frankly, I’ll take 800 yards from scrimmage from a 2nd rounder all day.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
To an extent
Makes me cringe to see 168lbs trying to run up the middle. Again, to my point, I don’t think it’s his fault. I look forward to seeing him used properly.
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Me too.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
Me two
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
Dex didn't get used right until Haley got fired
KingChief - February 6, 2012
Yeah
looked pretty good to me
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Yep
Didn’t do much against GB, but was great against both OAK and DEN
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
This
But also.. We all know that McCluster was drafted to play the slot.. not to carry the football, Yeah they might use him in the backfield.. but he cant take the pounding that a normal running back can.. Hes Dante Hall without juke moves
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
He produced more on offense this year than Dante ever did
I don’t care what he was drafted to do. He produced as a RB.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
I don't think Dex is underrated per se
I think he’s a bit overrated but it’s not his fault. It’s purely because of the way he’s been used thus far.
If they start tossing screen passes to him and then you’ll see him earn all kinds of praise. If DoughBall can do things like this on a regular basis I’ll shut the hell up about him and hop on board.
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
I guess I see most people here refer to him as a role player
My question is: how many role players get 800 yards from scrimmage?
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
imagine how many he gets when utilized to the best of his abilities?!?!
Watching him run up the middle makes me want to stab my eyes out
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
It made me want to stab Haley's eyes out.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
likewise
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Dex is extremely underrated here.
Second most productive player on our offense this year.
JayhawksNChiefs - February 6, 2012
This
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
I wish hugely that this said more...
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Okay.
This
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
Other than have a rookie season identical to Fasano’s best?
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
And since then, hes played a handfull of games.
At some point our “stud” TE is gonna get cut because he cant stay healthy..
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Calm down, this was his SECOND season. There’s plenty of players who’ve gone down with season ending injuries and have come back. I just think it’s a little too soon to even talk about getting cut…
Who else do we have at TE besides him that can catch worth a damn anyways?
Iczer - February 6, 2012
Oh im calm dammit...
You calm down!!! IM A PEOPLE PERSON! IM GOOD AT DEALING WITH PEOPLE!! No but really, your right.. we dont have anyone else.. but if we draft a TE this year.. you can say bye to Tony.
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
I for one would be totally pissed if they cut Tony because of an ACL tear.
Are we gonna cut Berry and Jamaal too, because they “can’t stay healthy”?
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
You have to get rid of Bowe too
since he didn’t finish the Denver game
KingChief - February 6, 2012
I think your missing the fact..
That isnt some freak occurence or run of bad luck.. the guy is notorious for getting hurt and, so far, he hasnt shown different in the NFL. I dont think they will cut the guy based on the last two years.. but you have to admit that if they draft a TE in this years draft.. Its not looking good for him.
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
A torn ACL doesn't mean the end of a career anymore
Brady returned from his just fine
Welker, the guy that led the league in catches, returned just fine
Gore tore up both of his knees and he does just fine
I think Moeaki, JC, and Berry will come back strong next year
KingChief - February 6, 2012
It's legal to carry more than one TE.
Just ask the Patriots.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
i for one wouldn't complain
about getting another TE to complement Moeaki. Pope is alright, but an upgrade wouldn’t not be a bad thing
Leaf - February 6, 2012
Agreed.
TEs can be very valuable, especially if you don’t have a strong armed QB.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
15 games out of 2 seasons is more than a handful.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
Hopefully
KC can quit playing shitty offense.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Hopefully there's an actual QB competition, with non-scrub talent
And hopefully the best man wins the spot regardless of what his name or jersey number read.
GenericBrand - February 6, 2012
That would require Pioli to NOT be the GM
His dick is so far up #7’s ass you can’t tell where one stops and the other begins.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Weak certainty
Amen

SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
Rec'd for truthfulness
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
Really?
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
just highly disappointed..........
right now
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
You need a Red Bull vodka.
Tarkus - February 6, 2012
Ha!
LadyChief - February 6, 2012
Still sugar coating your opinions I see, SC.
Come on, dude … just say you’re truly thinking. It ain’t hard.
LocoLoboChico - February 6, 2012
I know man, sorry.
I really need to learn how to just open up and spill my guts. I’ll work on that.
SCKSChief - February 7, 2012
de-rec'd for untruthfulness
if he stays with #7 this year, i’ll listen to your argument, but it’s too early to tell that will be the case. 3 years is long enough to know if someone is going to be good or not, but not long to show that Pioli is too stubborn to move on. i would have stayed with cassel up until this point if i where in his shoes. now that cassel has had 3 years, and hasn’t proven that he can carry the team to the promise land, it’s time to move on.
Leaf - February 6, 2012
"untruthfulness" eh?
What makes your opinion of something yet to occur more truthful than anyone else’s? At this point ANY opinion of something in the FUTURE is an assumption or prognostication. Nothing about ANY of those things are true or otherwise.
SCKSChief - February 7, 2012
i never said my opinion is more truthful
my point was that there is no proof that pioli has his dick up cassel’s ass. i only used the untruthfulness comment because you already received a rec for truthfulness, when in fact your comment has no facts that might make it true. it was more a jab at other commenters, commenting on your comment, then your comment itself. your entitled to think pioli has a 16 incher up cassel’s pearly white buttocks; i just don’t see any proof that would make me agree.
Leaf - February 7, 2012
My guess is it is barely a 6 incher
but I hear what you’re saying.
SCKSChief - February 8, 2012
Unless, of course, the fact that #7 is still considered "QBotF" by brass
isn’t proof enough. Again, that is speculation, but we’ve yet to see anything to the contrary, so it is something we can run with.
SCKSChief - February 8, 2012
Not sure about this move.
Will wait and see.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
Here is the problem I have.
All of our weapons will be back on the field offensively next year.
I believe we will have a great offense.
the problem is, is that Daboll will get all the credit for it and in a few years when we lose some guys the front office will stick with a subpar coordinator because we had a couple great years with great talent in spite of a so-so coach in Daboll.
Brian Harris - February 6, 2012
He's only been a OC for 3 years.
Who’s to say he won’t grow into the position and actually become a good OC?
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
Because we don't believe in reason.
NJChieffan16 - February 6, 2012
'Course not.
That would be too reasonable.
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
You caught on very well.
NJChieffan16 - February 6, 2012
that's not reason
its faith
sm7600 - February 6, 2012
As long as I don't get the vibe of the Chiefs running on damn near every first down
And running a draw play on 3rd and long 95% of the time, I will give this man credit for better play calling
Tomahawk29 - February 6, 2012
Throw in using Dex as a RB more and a gadget player yes
And throwing at least 6 quick slants to Bowe per game.
MNchiefsfan - February 6, 2012
there are somethings I agree with...
He hasn’t worked around much talent, so its possible that with talent he may be able to do more. But his offense isn’t all that great.
Maybe he will maybe he wont, Just havent seen very much to like this guy right now.
With that said, I hope in three years I look back on Daboll and eat my own words for doubting.
Brian Harris - February 6, 2012
stupid reply button
Brian Harris - February 6, 2012
Agreed
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Hugh Jackson or Al Saunders > Daboll
ArrowDread - February 6, 2012
Yes
Also why I’m not happy about this
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Says those that know all.
Were all successful coaches immediately successful? Did some struggle and receive large amounts of criticism before being regarded as a good coach? This dude is young and could end up being a great hire. He could suck it up for a year and get canned. No one knows.
JayhawksNChiefs - February 6, 2012
You're absolutely correct
And I hope like hell that the best possible outcome is exactly what we get. My complaint the last few days, and a complaint shared by many others around here is that we have a team that is really close to winning now. This hire, with his track record is uninspiring at best. I would have felt much better with a coach who has a much better track record because this gives me the feeling that we’re continuing to experiment when we’re already in a place where our young players first contracts need to be renewed. Many of these guys aren’t just young pups anymore. They’re in the prime of their careers and it stinks to think that we’re still trying to rebuild. To that end, I think those of us who feel this way have a valid point.
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
you do
i , myself, still don’t know what to think of this hire, but i share your concerns. it would have been nice to have that sexy, known commodity hire, but i’m upset either, as he has shown some promise. regardless, i’ll stay firmly on the, not sure bench, until after the first game of the season. then i’ll make an overly rash, snap judgment.
Leaf - February 6, 2012
debateable.
they definitely have a more extensive resume, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are better.
Leaf - February 6, 2012
i'm willing to give the guy a fair shake...
could be just what we need…time will tell…
SFLChief - February 6, 2012
Im trying to reserve judgement here..
I want to see what offense he implaments (sp?). What kind of Offense did he run in Miami? IMO i think we have the skill set for just about any offense he wants to run, we just lack a QB..
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Good stuff
I don’t see Pioli ever allowing #7 to not be the guy. Any incoming OC is screwed.
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012

Buck'O - February 6, 2012

:P
Buck'O - February 6, 2012
Chiefs should bring in Todd Haley as Offensi....
.
.
…nevermind
ArrowDread - February 6, 2012
Unfortunately
I think i have a better shot at OC than Todd Haley.. I run a tight ship in madden.
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
Ha!
SCKSChief - February 6, 2012
I'm new here
and I certainly don’t know as much as guys like Matt and SCKS, but I do know what I saw. I saw a Baboll offense leave cleat marks up and down the backs of, what some here consider to be on the cusp of elite defense of ours. How about we wait and see what he can do with the unused weaponry we already have here.
mind the gap - February 6, 2012
Its cool dude,,
I dont claim to know much.. Just have strong oppinions. I said i was gonna reserve judgement to see how he goes through camp and to see some of the moves (trades-player signings-etc.) before i go off the deepend about him.. Like i said (very poorly) above he has alot of the same types of weapons that he did in Miami. Obviously more talented on our end… but Id expect to see the same offense they ran..
Matt in KC - February 6, 2012
You speak the truth
One also needs to take into account the complete lack of 2/3 of the game in KC at that point in the season. Chiefs had zero offense and less than zero special teams. There was essentially no scoring, nor was there a threat for KC to score. Ergo the defense got brutalized.
Still, it is very true that Daboll comes from a culture of losing (Cleveland and Miami) which is never a good thing.
SCKSChief - February 8, 2012
Daboll*
mind the gap - February 6, 2012
OMG
Daboll over Saunders? Really?
Daboll’s Offenses while he was OC were ranked 32nd, 29th and 22nd in the frigg’n league. I don’t give 2 and a half shits what ties he has, or if he destroyed the Chiefs last season. We have a less than mediocre QB and now a less than mediocre OC. How the hell can that equate to anything more than a mediocre offense?
What a wasted opportunity to make a good hire.
ARROWHEADSHANE - February 6, 2012
Ummm....
Isn’t this the same guy that took a pretty bad offense in Miami and came to ARROWHEAD and kicked the shit out of us 30-3? <—- SARCASM, He obviously has something to give or we wouldn’t of hired him.
Caleb Alan Rhoades - February 6, 2012
Yeah. He's the cheapest option.
And yes. He was the guy that brought a “bad offense” to Arrowhead. I don’t give a crap what the score was. He was responsible for the “bad offense” in Miami. Why the hell didn’t we find a guy that can create a top 10 offense? Not one in the bottom 5 range.
ARROWHEADSHANE - February 6, 2012
This is a sad day for me
Watching the superbowl and knowing i’m never going to see my Chiefs in it. I was really happy with the Crennel hire but now,not so much because of Daboll. Pioli says"I have to do a better job" are you kidding me? I had to suffer through this last year where the offense was pathetic, and don’t tell me injuries because they sure as heck could have put Stanzi in and gave him a shot. This new OC best season rankings was 22nd wow what a guy and I could care less if the Dolphins had a good second half of the season, maybe if they would have had a playoff run and a top 15 offense it would be a different story. Bacically i’m saying don’t get your hopes up about this upcoming season. I’m not saying the guy can’t do it but I expected a heck of a lot more when they fired Hayley. I’ve been a fan for so long i’m just getting sick and tired of this team not tring to become dominant. I want to see the Chiefs in the superbowl and I want to see it now.
