Seven rows down you will find the Chiefs. Look just a little closer and you will find that 7th is exactly what the Chiefs ranked in Passer Rating Differential in 2010. Look even harder, and you’ll find that +12.0 Passer Rating Differential in 2010 is better than 223 of the 288 boxes in the entire chart. One could argue that since 2002 only 22.6% of all NFL teams have been more complete than that 2010 Chiefs team.
Quick Note Passer Rating Differential is now considered by some to be one of the most telling stats in a quarterback dominated league. Does it tell us everything? No, of course not. Must you have a +PRD in order to make the playoffs? No. The first chart shows us you do not.

Rushing doesn’t really matter, while passing is extremely important. 10/12 playoff teams were in the top 12 in passing differential. And the two who were outside the top 12 weren’t exactly dominant rushing teams.

I love this team, too. I’m just stick and tired of settling for less when there’s a group of guys on the field that COULD be really special players, and they’re not getting any younger. That frustration is coming to a head for a lot of people right now.

It’s like why aren’t we winning when we have good talent. These teams with mediocre records make the playoffs then go off. Why can’t we do that.

Because we're not a "playoff team".
We’re in a weak division, and we were able to coast off of a strong running game, a QB that took care of the ball, and some young guys that stepped up in a big way on defense last year.
This year, the division is still weak, but we lost the running game, the QB didn’t take care of the ball, and the heart and soul of the defense went down early. And yet, we were still a mere field goal away from the playoffs.
We return those injured players, and make some long-needed upgrades at OL and NT, and there’s no reason to think we can’t make the playoffs in this division. However, we’re still missing the “playoff team” QB. If that comes this year, there’s no reason to think we can’t get to the playoffs and win a game or two. It’s not too terribly far off, but some of the most important pieces are missing around some really good players.

Yeah. I think Orton will get a sizable offer from Cleveland/Washington/Jacksonville, and we won’t match it because the FO believes they’ve got something in Cassel (which, who knows at this point). I think it’s much more likely that Orton walks than Cassel being cut/dealt.

B-Rich just regressed horribly instead pf progressing.
We only use the NT half the time, and QB well… Franchise guys are rare. Cassel isnt the answer but after the 10 season I dont see how you could replace him.

Barry's always been a decent road-grater.
But he gives up way too much pressure and commits a lot of mind-numbing penalties. He did that in 2010 as well, but we were running the ball a helluva lot more, so it wasn’t as obvious.
A strong NT (and an ILB that can actually COVER) mean that we can stay in the base package more often, and that omits those up-the-gut nickel/dime runs that gash us so badly so often. Honestly, I’d run all day against our nickel/dime. Every time I saw it, I’d audible into a run play. It’s just that bad.

I’m no GM, nor do I want to pretend that doing things like I want to do them is the recipe for success, and I’m glad you recognize that. =)
Stanzi and Croyle (trying to think back further, not willing to do more research right now) are the two guys we’ve tried to develop since then. Brodie got a semi-fair shake, and couldn’t hang. I don’t blame Carl for that. He tried. If we’re going to let Stanzi compete, then I would count that as trying to develop a QB, but this year said otherwise.
Give a go at a young QB early and let him try to hang. He might fail. He might be T.J. Yates. He might be Tom Brady. Point is, if you’re constantly picking up the castoffs from other teams, history says you’re not going to get a great QB for very long, if at all.

If we’re going to get a new QB, I’d prefer a young guy that we take a big chance on, and we hand him the reins day one. I’m not of the belief that we have a guy on this team right now that should keep a good young prospect on the bench.

Stanzi looked outstanding in all his highlights. Just gotta put all the college experience together with his pro coaching and perform.
Go out there and earn his spot as the starter. Give him a FAIR opportunity to win the spot.

yeah and thats sad to me...considering so many of us accepted pioli with open arms and almost made up minds that he was going to be the real deal
i dont like any of what has been written about the atmosphere, as i do think the pats may do things a little different, but they have a good team atmosphere, and showed such dumping moss at the first sign of disgruntled nature

I say lots of negative things about certain situations on the team.
But at the end of the day…NOTHING will make my fandom waver, doubtful, or fail. I will forever be an unconditional fan of the Chiefs. I love this franchise with all of my heart and soul. It will never change.
We could go winless from next season till the end of my days and I would still love the Chiefs.
It’s ok to be a bit discouraged or critical but we should never turn on our team.

I think this year's team was built to win the division quite easily even with the tough schedule
injuries ruined that
if healthy, and if pioli decides to fix the ol….i see little reason why they wont be one of the better teams, and a top defense, in the league
